It's time again for another Beyond 16-Bit episode, where the boizz get to play some video game music that normally wouldn't be LMH legal. This covers a wide range of generations, including a track from a game (Mina the Hollower) that at the time of this mixtape's release has yet to even be released! Two tracks were played from the arcade game Bunny Bomber Blast! which are sure to get

Step back into the golden age of gaming as we break down the best couch co-op games of the 16-bit era! From beat ‘em up legends to chaotic co-op classics, we're talking about the games that defined multiplayer on the couch. We're diving into iconic titles like Streets of Rage 2, Golden Axe, TMNT: Turtles in Time, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, and more!
Back in the early to mid 90s, when a popular movie was turned into a video game, that game was often released for both of the 16-bit systems that dominated console gaming of the day. This meant that whether you owned a Super Nintendo or a SEGA Genesis you'd be able to snag a copy and play! The thing is, in those days, these licensed games would often involve completely separate developers for each system, leading to a pair of games that were actually, nothing alike! Tonight, with the help of our pal Aldo Aroujo, we will be talking about 16-bit licensed games that did just that! A single property that resulted in two totally different games... one for the SNES and one for the Genesis/Megadrive. Sure, the debate over which variation on a beloved theme was major fuel for the fires tended by partisan gamers of the day, but those days are long gone. Heck, we're gonna play 'em all! De machtswisseling bij Xbox zorgt er voor dat we eindelijk weer eens positief over iets kunnen zijn. Not. It's time once again for the Legacy Music Hour to take a departure from the usual third and fourth generation video game music and look at more recent material. That is, recent as in music from games that came out for the Game Boy Color, all the way to games that come out in 2026 (well, just one game). The boizz went beyond once again, for the tenth Beyond 16-Bit episode. Of course there are still tracks that sound like they could have come from the third and fourth generation. Jake Kaufman's distinct retro style shines in "Credits" from Regular Show: Mordecai and Rigby in 8-Bit Land. Enrique Martin (Pentadrangle) also kills it with a modern take on the classic approach in "

Scooby-Doo Mystery (1995) for the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Both titles shared the same name but were completely different games developed by separate studios: Illusions Gaming Company and Argonaut Software. The Genesis version took a point-and-click adventure approach with investigation and dialogue mechanics, while the SNES version played as a platforming mystery with clue collection and a fear meter system. This week on The Free Cheese, there's a lot more than zombies to talk about. Who knew we would be tackling two difficult games back to back? Zombies Ate My Neighbors brings over forty levels of various challenges with themes that take us outside of the neighborhood against many different monster types from classic horror tropes. We discuss our time with the game and what surprised us about playing this classic title, then rank it on The List.

Kat decided to post a photo of the guys in their “standard uniform” to her friends' group chat… and unleashed a roast session so brutal it should've come with a burn warning. It's fashion shame, fake facts, and 16-bit bliss all in one episode.
On the rare occasion the Legacy Music Hour goes beyond the fourth generation for an episode. But on this rarest of occasions, they did back-to-back Beyond 16-Bit episodes. Somehow, even in an episode with relaxed rules for what tracks are legal to play, an illegal track slipped though, as "Jewelry (Prize Cue 1989)" from Wheel of Fortune on Sega CD was a previously existing track, not

While some of the tracks in this mixtape may *sound* like they're from the third or fourth generation, this is in fact a Beyond 16-Bit episode (the eighth one to be precise). These episodes are a way for the boizz to share modern VGM finds that wouldn't normally be LMH legal. As you'll see from tracks like "Saved the Moon (Alt. Ending/Credits)" from Elechead or "Marsh" from Lizard,

Time to slap some beyond meat on the grill and cook up a sizzling mixtape. That's right, it's time for another Beyond 16-Bit episode where the boizz get to share tracks that wouldn't normally be LMH legal. Starting things off is a beautiful and haunting gothic piece from Alice: Madness Returns. Following that is "Robot Factory (Chapter 6)" from the incredibly bonk soundtrack
Last year, we explored the NES era's few horror games and ranked them on their general spookiness levels—given the standards of the time. And now we're back to do the exact same thing for a whole new generation of consoles! This week on Retronauts, join Bob Mackey, Kole Ross (of Duckfeed.tv), Diamond Feit, and Drew Mackie (of Gayest Episode Ever and Thrilling Tales of Old Video Games) as the crew unites to discuss a magical time when horror games could have evocative titles like "Decap Attack" and "Zombies Ate My Neighbors." Retronauts is a completely fan-funded operation.
