Piloten Kaj Birksted var en af ganske få danske militære helte under Anden Verdenskrig. Han flygtede til Norge og blev pilot i Royal Air Force (RAF), hvor han i sin Spitfire nedskyd omkring 10 tyske fly i løbet af krigen. Efter afslutningen af krigen ønskede RAF, at han blev chef for det nye danske flyvevåben, men Kaj Birksted viste sig at være en kontroversiel figur, som derfor aldrig blev chef for Flyvevåbnet. La famille Birk est d'abord dirigée vers l'Autriche, où elle trouve refuge auprès de proches, les Bauer, qui ont émigré plus tôt. Cependant, leur arrivée n'est pas très bien accueillie en raison, notamment, des difficultés de l'après-guerre. La famille Bauer reproche, notamment, à Sofie le soutien au national-socialisme de son mari Karl, disparu. S&P Futures are slightly lower this morning. This morning there are two important economic data points set for release, The PPI report and Weekly Jobless Claims. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent indicated that that there was a good changes that the Fed will lower rates by 50 basis points at their meeting next month. While a 50 basis point cut is possible, it would likely need another weak Non Farms payrolls report. President Trump signed an Executive Order to accelerate rocket launches to encourage space travel. President Trump is scheduled to speak today at 1:00 pm. In earnings news JD, BIRK & VIPS are higher after releases, CSCO, DE, NICE & TPR are lower. After the bell today, AMAT, SNDK & STRZ are expected to report.

Earnings reports scheduled for tomorrow morning include TTC, BIRK, JBL & GIS. Pfizer is expected to release its 2025 guidance this morning. Meta says Threads has over 100m DAUs, 300m MAUs. President - elect Trump is said to be meeting with NFLX Co- CEO today. Congress remains at an impasse on the continuing resolution bill. In Europe stocks trading lower due to political instability concerns. Oil prices are ticking lower as China's economic data came in mixed.

NASDAQ is adding PLTR, MSTR & AXON to the Nasdaq 100 index next week. Earnings reports are due out this week from MU, LEN, GIS, BIRK, CAG, DRI, CTAS, FDX & NKE. Congress must pass a continuing resolution by Dec 20th to avoid a partial government shutdown. In Europe stocks trading lower due to political instability concerns. Oil prices are ticking lower as China's economic data came in mixed.

What happens when a hymenopterist finds a mysterious arachnid in a Danish hothouse? Sean Birk Bek Craig was exploring the floor of a hothouse, also known as a greenhouse, when he came upon an interesting creature. “I could see that it was an arachnid when I looked up close,” he said, “but immediately just looking at it with my eyes… I was really perplexed about what the devil that was!” Short-tailed whip-scorpions, or members of the order Schizomida, are tiny arachnids who aren't typically in Denmark, but with a lot of research, Sean concluded it had probably been accidentally imported on one of the tropical plants, possibly from Thailand. With a few ups and downs, Sean described it as his very first new species, and gave it a specific epithet of “serendipitus” after the unexpected way it came into his life.
