Have you heard the saying “turning lemons into lemonade?""When life gives you lemons, make lemonade" is a proverbial phrase used to encourage optimism and a positive "can-do" attitude in the face of adversity or misfortune. Lemons suggest sourness or difficulty in life; "making lemonade" means taking those difficulties & turning them into something positive or desirable. When I think of first responders in general, "turning lemons into lemonade" just seems to be in their DNA.There are some stories I want to investigate. Not all are about a tragic event. Sometimes, it is to find out what makes a person tick. Why do they do what they do? Why are some people encouragers (exhorters)? Teachers? What drives the passion? When their lives are lived not for self but to serve others, it grabs my attention. In the fire Service, I find many that into that category. For them it is a lifetime of service no matter what they may find themselves doing. Some may be sidelined by an injury or tragic event but they keep moving forward with that same passion to serve others. Some of these individuals could be bitter but they are not. What has been sidelined is re-defined… that is the story of my guest. And like me, he is a talker….. and he speaks everyday...via a podcast, social media, instructing, and in person. This is his story. It's about what makes him tick. You may have heard of "Coach Camp." His real name is Christopher or Chris Camp. He is the perfect example of who a firefighter/paramedic is and what they are constantly doing..."Turning Lemons Into Lemonade"-Tom MannExecutive Producer/HostStorylines guests include: Christopher Camp/ Retired Memphis Firefighter Paramedichttps://www.motivatewithcoachcamp.com/homehttps://www.facebook.com/MotivatewithCoachCamphttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCA2NYLA-b6Cp3oFn-5Mk7KgSpecial Thanks to:Shelby Row Productions LLC/Studio Services for Coach CampSupport EmergencyFD Storyline at emergencyfd.comSupport the show (https://www.paypal.com/donate?hosted_button_id=4ZST3HRUMZG36)Go to emergencyfd.com for more podcasts.Email EmergencyFD Storyline: storyline@emergencyfd.comPPE provided to the EmergencyFD video team by MSAAt MSA, our business is safety. Bryce Huett is an entrepreneur who describes his life as fantastic. He is one of the few people who loves his job. In this episode we cover Bryce getting laughed at when he registered his business without an idea, his love of customers, company culture strategy, the value of trusting people and much more. The takeaway from this episode is the value Bryce puts on health. He's been described by employees as the fittest person in his 50 person office. Even in the darkest days of his current business, which almost died several times, he worked out almost every day and always maintained a healthy diet. I guarantee three outcomes from listening to this episode: you will laugh, learn and leave inspired. I've been told the first 15 minutes are a bit slow and although I don't agree, I'd love your feedback. Quotes from the episode “Those are the moments where literally you have to bootstrap yourself to get off the ground and if you don’t then it can end bad. And by that sense, you could go and find a job that you truly hate like a lot of people end up doing and never recover from that.” - Bryce Huett “I love what I do and that in itself puts me in the minority from a lot of people that work today.” - Bryce Huett "People that don’t make themselves vulnerable personally are not happy people, they’re not" - Bryce Huett Quotes from employees “Miss that guy. True leader and risk taker at the same time.” - Chris Camp, Former employee “Single most inspirational person I’ve met. He could talk to a team he’s never met and get them pumped up.” - Keegan Bast, Director of Sales Business contact Info https://www.distributorwire.com/who-we-are/company/
