This week Ps Phil sits down with his long time friend, Ps Kong Hee. Ps Kong is the founder of City Harvest Church (CHC) in Singapore. CHC is one of the world's most significant churches, seeing hundreds of thousands of people meeting Jesus and having huge impact in the nation of Singapore, and across Asia. However, in 2012, in the midst of huge growth and momentum, Ps Kong was arrested, spent 7 years on trial, and ultimately was sentenced to three and a half years in prison. Join Ps Phil and Ps Kong for this incredibly honest conversation as they reflect on the story of Kong's arrest and imprisonment. Now released from prison, Kong shares openly regarding the impact this on the church, his family, his walk with God, and the ongoing journey of restoration. There are lessons and wisdom here for every pastor and leader. A hugely valuable conversation. Guest preacher Dr John Avanzini returns after eight years with this powerful message for City Harvest Church. Faith and fear come from the same place—David ran away from Goliath with the army, but when he heard about King Saul's reward, he returned and killed the giant. When God wants believers to do something, He gives us motivation. Jesus was motivated by the reward of saving the world. To take hold of what God has in store for us, we must lift up our eyes to see what He sees. Just as Jesus always looked to see what the Father was doing, believers must learn to see it and get hold of it in the spirit. Then, with our mouths, we speak our miracle and breakthrough into existence. Listen to this message and be encouraged to be a person who speaks and sees the things of God.
Dr Younghoon Lee, Senior Pastor of Yoido Full Gospel Church likens City Harvest Church to the Antioch Church in the book of Acts. The Antioch Church was the first church for Gentiles, and the most influential church in the Roman Empire. Dr Lee preached on four qualities of the Antioch Church: one, it has a Christ-centred faith. The church must have a clear goal to worship the Lord and to dedicate itself to Him. As “Christians” we are called to think, speak, act and live like Jesus. Two, the Antioch Church has Holy Spirit-centred faith: the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the turning point in a Christian's life. Three, the Antioch Church has prayer-centred faith: nothing happens until we pray. Prayer is the “secret” to revival and church growth; it produces blessings and miracles in the church in the church. Four, the Antioch Church has mission-centred faith. Every Christian is called to win souls, to preach the gospel to the ends of the earth. Listen to this sermon and be revived in your calling to worship the Lord, be filled with the Holy Spirit, pray unceasingly and reach out to the lost.

In 1996, City Harvest Church embarked on a mission to be a “Church Without Walls”, reaching out to the poor, needy and marginalised of society with the love of Jesus. In this sermon, Kong Hee explains that Christlikeness is loving God and our neighbor (Mt 22:37-40), and believers are called to do like Jesus, who demonstrated His “upside down way” of authentic discipleship, primarily valuing and caring for those who cannot fend for themselves, particularly children. Pastor Kong calls CHC to answer the call once again to be a church without walls, by helping children and the elderly in volunteer efforts the next five months. Listen to the powerful testimonies by those lives have been transformed by CWW and decide to make a difference today!
In this wrap-up to his series on the Kingdom Of God, Kong Hee shares the three foci of City Harvest Church members from Mt 28:18-20. One, be a disciple of Jesus, that is, live your life as Jesus would, exercising perfect purity, honesty and love, and having no anger. Two, be immersed in the presence of the Trinity, which is to be fully saturated in the love of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Three, out of the overflow of that love, do mighty exploits for the Lord. Understand that the vessel in 2 Cor 4:7 are the things and programmes the church does, but the treasure is the spiritual life of the church. Let this message encourage you to grow daily in Christlikeness, to know and be fully known by God.
I was delighted to host Pastor Kong Hee of City Harvest Church. Trust you will enjoy this Podcast

2021 is the year for the believer to build up his spiritual storehouse in preparation for what God is going to do next. In his vision-casting message for the start of the year, Kong Hee sets the direction for City Harvest Church for the next 12 months. First, be intentional in cultivating Christlikeness, that is to live every day with the mindset that we will glorify God, whether at work, on campus or at home. Second, be intentional in unconditional love, expecting nothing in return, forgiving always. Finally, be intentional in marketplace discipleship, that is, seek first the Kingdom of God, not riches and fame, and trust Him for provision and blessing. In short, 2021 must be a year of mortification—the progressive killing of sin—and vivification—the continual growth of Christlikeness in us. Enjoy the message and get ready for the next move of God!
Leadership in the future isn’t about how fun we can be, it's going to be about how we handle the challenges that come our way. But how do we do that? We need to be leaders who are able to teach and instruct biblically, rather than be swung by what the world is telling us. Pastor Bob MacGregor from City Harvest Church shares with us 12 challenges that every leader faces during this season and how we should face them.

In this midweek episode, we talk about the raging forest fires in the Amazon and discuss the repercussions on Mother Earth. Is the climate changing at a rate that humans will become extinct in the near future? Or is there is a political agenda behind these global alarmist? We also discuss Kong Hee's, Senior Pastor of City Harvest Church, who was just released from prison for misappropriating more than fifty million dollars in church funds. His initial eight year sentence was reduced to three and a half years upon appeal. He was released two years and four months into his jail sentence on the grounds of good behaviour. Is this privilege at play? Or did god really hear their prayers? https://www.forbes.com/sites/michaelshellenberger/2019/08/26/why-everything-they-say-about-the-amazon-including-that-its-the-lungs-of-the-world-is-wrong/#5aafc6b95bde https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/city-harvest-church-founder-kong-hee-released-from-jail
Preaching Psalm 126 verse by verse, Phil Pringle returns to City Harvest Church with a call to be revived in the Lord and to thrive in life. Jesus the Restorer brings back things that have been broken and cast away, and He gives value to them. God restored to Job more than all that he lost; He brought Naomi home and reversed the foolish things her husband did. To be revived, there are actions a believer must take: sow your life knowing that God collects all your tears; speak life into situations, not death. Listen and be encouraged that the best version of you is in Jesus' hands.
Ps. Derek preached about the City of Refuge, a place where we come to find love, acceptance, restoration, and empowerment! The church is a place of refuge, a dwelling place and not just a visitation, where we need each other. City Harvest Church is a place of refuge where you can come to get connected, planted, and flourish in the courts of God!
In Haggai 1:14, the people of Israel were stirred up in their spirit by the Lord to work on the house of God. In this message, Derek Dunn preaches that a move of the Spirit is marked by revival in the people's relationship with God, miracles signs and wonders, the transformation of society and a great harvest of souls. Learn the two types of moves the Holy Spirit has—one that is sovereign and one that is provoked. Discover four ways to provoke the move of the Holy Spirit that has brought revival time and again at City Harvest Church.
Tune into our 6th Anniversary celebration service, as Pastor Derek shares our journey as a church and describes who we are as a church. Interwoven, members shared their testimonies of how their lives have been impacted and transformed since being planted at City Harvest Church. God has done so many great things at City Harvest thus far and we’re in high anticipation of the many more great things to come!
The Church of God has withstood trials and tribulations over the centuries. In spite of persecution and challenges, Christianity thrived and grew. As believers of the 21st century, we need to understand how the early Christians lived out their faith—embracing the whole counsel of God and His Word. Pastor Kong takes us from the early days of City Harvest Church, through the various teachings and values that have shaped this church to become what it is today. Just as how the Early Church overcame the odds, may we commend ourselves to God and to the Word of His grace, standing on His promises and revelation for our lives.
It’s been said that the larger a church, the easier it is to get lost in the crowd. The truth is, each member plays in part in making the church a home and a family. How can there be a close fellowship and bonding among members? The answer is through Cell Groups—a community of believers sharing and doing life together. Sun shares her years of experience in discipleship and relationship in Cell Groups; and appreciates the Cell Group Leaders of City Harvest Church in this heartfelt message.
There is a value ingrained in City Harvest Church; we love God wholeheartedly, and love people fervently. When we observe these two values, we get what life is all about. Now, loving people fervently doesn’t just mean those outside the church—those who need salvation. Loving people also means loving those within the church—a Christian brother or sister. And sometimes, it is easier to be patient with a stranger than with family. How do we love and have tolerance for those who seem weaker and different from us? How do we love them the way God wants us to?
In this first message of three that mark City Harvest Church’s 29th anniversary, Bobby Chaw recounts CHC’s Kingdom purpose, which is missions. Missions, as defined by CHC’s founder Kong Hee, is God sending the whole church with the whole gospel to the whole world to meet the spiritual and social needs of humanity. How has CHC lived up to its Kingdom purpose? Discover the ways in which God has used every member of CHC to meet needs and bring the gospel to the ends of the earth.
In the final of three messages that mark City Harvest Church’s 29th anniversary, Sun Ho drives home the message of what Jesus wants us to do: to follow Him. Through the difficult recent years, CHC has become more vulnerable as a people, releasing our control to God and experiencing His freedom in return. Sun illustrates this precious and powerful relationship between God and believer that show that no matter how messed up, wrong, inadequate we think we are, God is always enough for us. Watch Gin Lam as she beautifully portrays the unceasing love of God and His complete acceptance of who we are as His child through her powerful dance testimony.
In this second of three messages that mark City Harvest Church’s 29th anniversary, Aries Zulkarnain addresses Kingdom engagement. What does it really mean to be part of a church in today’s world? In the midst of major cultural and technological shifts, the concept of going to church embraces online attendance along with physical presence. Embrace the experience of doing church online via The CHC App. This message takes you through the key features specially built into the app to let you immerse in the presence of God in your quiet time and as you commute and travel.
Over the years, God has given City Harvest Church a set of paradigms that has become the distinct way in which CHC thinks and operates. In Part 2 of this sermon, Pastor Kong shares how we can grow in spiritual maturity through discipleship and how to unlock revival and miracles in the Church through prayer. Believing that the primary purpose of Christ is soul-winning, let the Church arise to become God’s greatest gift to serve humanity!
A paradigm is a distinct way of thinking or viewing life in an entire community or generation. There is a set of paradigms that are distinctive to City Harvest Church and define who we are as a church. Having weathered many storms over three decades, City Harvest has withstood numerous trials and testing and come forth refined and strengthen by the grace of God. Find out what are the spiritual values that ground this church to remain focused on the call of God upon it.
Stay Through to Stay True w/ Guest Speaker Meng How (City Harvest Church Singapore) by Highlands Church
Singapore's Harvest City Church recently made international news as it's leadership team including the pastor was found guilty of corruption. This is a result of the ambition of Pastor Kong Hee's wife musical aspirations. It took the loss of nearly 50 million dollars between 2007-2008 to help her become the next Asian pop star. Every church gets special exemptions to carry out the gospel message, however many of their leadership take advantage of this by purchasing homes, cars, and other extravangant things. What should be done when churches overstep the boundaries of their gospel mission and tax exemption status. Should more accountablility be demanded from members regarding how church funds are appropiated? Join Pastor Neal for this and other lively topics on Zera Today.
