The team then discusses other horrible experiences for their filmmakers, if even awful experiences can end up having good results. Bri and Connor also talk about M. Joe finished the book, now it's time to expose him to the catastrophe...
This is a confusing ass episode as we discuss David Lynch's Dune. There was a small mic problem but who cares...this is just for fun. A Duke's son leads desert warriors against the galactic emperor and his father's evil nemesis when they assassinate his father and free their desert world from the emperor's rule.
It's a new year and with it we let James take the spotlight with his passion pick, so we sat down and tried to understand David Lynch's Dune (00:25), a tumultuous and truly bizarre sci-fi epic. We also hit our Weekly Watch: Aaron re-watched Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 1 & 2 (51:25), Robert finished the Disney+ show The Mandalorian (54:15), Mike sat through 47 Meters (58:00), and James binged Netflix's The Witcher (59:15).
Nick, aka @stellarboor and I reviewed a less talked about film from the Coen Brothers titled The Man Who Wasn't There. A film that I argue is an absolutely perfectly executed film. It playfully dips it's toes in black comedy, sci-fi, and neo noir. For lucky #13 Andy and Evan watch Dune, a novel they both love that in 1984 was adapted into a movie no one liked. There's lots of voice over, giant talking testicles, and all of the sand. Plus David Lynch hates redheads? Goodwatches: Annihilation Arrival The Tick Psst... please rate us on iTunes!

In our intro episode of David Lynch's DUNE and Luc Besson's VALERIAN AND TH CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS, we described the main connective tissue of these movies as being "weird sci-fi." How well does that pre-assessment hold up now that both Rob and Jordan and have seen both movies? Spoiler alert: Pretty well! Just how weird are these flicks, and does that make them any good? You'll have to listen to our discussions to find out! And don't forget to come back in two weeks to hear ... well, you'll just have to wait and see. The boys are back at again with David Lynch's DUNE, a movie about sand and drugs and riding worms and topless Sting. I mean theres other stuff in there too, but that stuff was boring.
In a mini episode Gareth takes a second second look at David Lynch's DUNE, this time focusing the power of his voice on the 3 hour long, Alan Smithee credited TV edit of the film.
