We talk the Classic Hardcore ERA of wrestling with EC F'N W Wrestling! The 1996 November to Remember show!
The show may be called "November to Remember," but both the show and the year 1995 are things WE DO NOT want to remember! Per our usual arrangement, this show was a bleeding, disorganized mess. We did get to see some crazy things like Mikey Whipwreck defeating Steve Austin (pre Stone Cold) for the ECW Title and "The Hardcore Legend" Terry Funk in tag-team action with his protege, Tommy Dreamer. But beyond that, you're looking for corn in a turd. This dropped (pardon the poop pun) a day before Survivor Series and while the WWF wasn't pumping out golden content at this time, ECW was putting out a MUCH inferior product (in our opinions). In the news, we cover the ongoing (and brand new) Monday Night Wars, the WCW and NJPW relationship going into Starrcade, ECW in hot water with the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission over a fire incident, ECW wrestlers jumping ship, the economy crashing in Mexico effecting the wrestling industry, whether or not Randy Savage is injured, and much more! On this episode of The Wrestling Delorean Podcast we talk about the November tradition in the land of the extreme, the 1999 edition of ECW November to Remember! A show with a triple main event! Hear all about this incredible show and more!
SEASON 2 - EPISODE TWELVE- ECW November to Remember 1996We take a well earned vacation in the land of extreme and head back to Autumn 1996, and a November to Remember! ECW were riding high, with a tv deal being ut together and a long awaited debut on ppv a few months away, this card was set to build the main event for that show, Taz versus Sabu! What a build, and what a moment on this card as the lights went out just as they were about to hook up....and another hour of wrestling took place after! ECW got so many things right but there is no doubting they got plenty wrong and this card can be summed up in that manner, the rights and the wrongs! The BWO were taking over as Scorpio was gone in a Flash, and Brian Lee was main eventing a major show in 1996! Main Event Brian Lee? Somebody had better call creative!!!
From the eagle's nest, high above the ECW arena, this is the Extreme Three Way Dance! In this episode, JT, Jenny and Matt review ECW November to Remember 1998! The troublesome trio talk about the surprising return of Terry Funk and his issues with Tommy Dreamer, the odd structure of the card, Whipwreck's bizarre actions, Tanaka & Mahoney taking home the gold, the war between the Triple Threats, Jake Roberts: mystery partner, Sabu stealing Tan's thunder and so much more! So jump on board, grab a chair and get ready to join this threesome for an extreme journey through time!
Well, ECW did have another, less flattering meaning. On the heels of the Montreal Screwjob, November to Remember is some sadness. Bad main events, a chaotic tag match, and stud workers from the 90s put on a solid opening act. This week, we're reviewing “ECW November to Remember 1997” which took place 25 years ago this month in Monaca, Pennsylvania. It's the largest attendance in ECW's history to that point as ”November to Remember” was considered to be ECW's flagship PPV. Injuries and language-that-doesn't-hold-up-well abound as ECW struggles to find its footing amongst the 3 companies with what was a so-so PPV at the time. Tommy Dreamer v Rob Van Dam in a WWF/ECW Flag Match Taz begins his uprising into the title picture. Chris Candido continues to impress! ...and a sloppy & entertaining 4-way-dance tag match for the straps!! FBI v The Gangstanators v The Dudleys v The Hardcore Chair-Swingin' Freaks!! oh, and Shane Douglas v Bam Bam Bigelow headlines.

Justin C and Heather are back to finish off their watch of ECW November to Remember 1997 this week on the 3 Beers Deep Wrestling Podcast. The second half of the show is filled with the stars of ECW in 1997. But is that a good thing? Surprisingly it was not. Listen and watch along as Justin and Heather try to figure out the rules of an ECW Flag Match between RVD and Tommy Dreamer and just who the hell as referee power in ECW. After that, Sandman and Sabu have a Tables and Ladders match that Justin and Heather just can't stop laughing at for all the wrong reasons. The show finishes with Bam Bam Bigelow defending the ECW Championship against hometown hero Shane Douglas. But the match does more to hurt Douglas than help him.So crack open some beers (trust us you will need them) and listen along as Justin and Heather watch the second half of ECW November to Remember 1997!

Episode Forty Two - It's fair to say 2020 has been the year to forget but the bcc boys are heading back to 1998 for a November to Remember from ECW. Posting their best financial year records to date in 1998, ECW were riding high and rounded out the year with their annual fall pay per view. An event which had varying reviews and contrasting fortunes for two legends of the industry and Beyond the Mat alumni Jake the Snake and Terry Funk. A six man tag main event which would have lasting ramifications for the title picture and a solid undercard featuring Jerry Lynn versus Lance Storm, so why are they reviewing this as wrestling worst? Well their is only one way to find out.....you'd Better Call Creative

It's another venture back into ECW, but this time it's when the promotion is on the down-slide. Still, there's a lot of good things including: Jerry Lynn, Justin Credible, Kid Kash, CW Anderson, FBI, Mikey Whipwreck, Yoshihiro Tajiri, Da Baldies, The Sandman, Dawn Marie, Francine and the GREAT Chris Hamrick. Plus Steve Corino gets his well deserved due, his first World Championship. This week on Wrestling Omakase we talk one of the greatest AND one of the worst matches of all time plus a whole hell of a lot more! If you haven't listened to a 5 Matches episode yet, every week John and the guest each choose 2 matches to watch and talk about on the episode. Then we each choose a third match, which is put up to a vote on the @wrestleomakase ( http://twitter.com/wrestleomakase ) Twitter account, letting the listeners choose our fifth and final match of the week. It's a fun retro format featuring all sorts of different wrestling! John is joined by Bryan Quinby ( http://twitter.com/MurderBryan ) from Street Fight Radio ( https://www.streetfightradio.com/ ) , making his first appearance on the show in a number of years. Before they get into the five match selections today John & Bryan catch up on a ton of topics, including how they're hanging in during this whole pandemic thing, wondering if you should even plan any live shows at all for the rest of 2020, what life might be like after this passes and whether or not John should go to Vegas, arcades, and some more talk on empty arena wrestling. Then we finally get into our 5 matches for the week, and it's honestly a pretty incredible list: 1. WALTER & Timothy Thatcher vs. Dominic Garrini & Tracy Williams, EVOLVE 1/13/18 ( Youku ( https://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMzMyMzM2MTEyMA==.html? ) , match starts around 20:30) 2. Sabu vs. The Sandman, ECW 11/30/97 ( WWE Network ( https://watch.wwe.com/episode/ECW-November-to-Remember-1997-10382 ) ) 3. Brock Lesnar vs. Dean Ambrose, WWE 4/3/16 ( WWE Network ( https://watch.wwe.com/episode/WrestleMania-32-1811 ) ) 4. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kohei Sato, Z1MAX 3/2/08 ( Google Drive ( https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gqcyRjDfXkzBj-lzaMM16I0FURZV_cLB/view ) , match starts around 1:30:47) 5. Kazuchika Okada vs. Katsuyori Shibata, NJPW 4/9/17 (NJPW World: English ( https://njpwworld.com/p/s_series_00433_1_09 ) or Japanese) ( https://njpwworld.com/p/s_series_00432_1_09 ) Topics that come up along the way include: where we wish US wrestling could have gone vs. where it ended up going, Timothy Thatcher rules actually, John didn't know who Dominic Garrini was and feels bad because he was great, setting up elaborate spots and botching every single one, Sandman's flips (are good), Brock Lesnar destroying WWE, interpromotional feuds and why they rule, and finally a detailed breakdown of one of the best matches of all time (and maybe it's more okay to love it now that things turned out a little better with Shibata at the LA Dojo). It's a really packed episode! Support Wrestling Omakase with a donation through Red Circle ( http://bit.ly/2o42FP6 ) ! All donations are split with that week's guest. We really appreciate it! As with every ECW event of the '90, this one was a feast for the eyeballs (in more ways than just wrestling action)! It featured RVD, Taz, Sabu, Chris Candido, Raven, Tommy Dreamer, Sandman, Lance Storm, Justin Credible and an ass-kicking match between Mike Awesome and Masato Tanaka. It's Tommy Dreamer & Terry Funk vs. Raven & Cactus Jack from ECW November to Remember 1995!

This week we discuss the Kenny Omega AEW signing, The WWE Network possibly increasing prices, and Undertaker's $25,000 appearance fee for non-WWE events. Then, we dive into the third ECW pay-per-view offering: 1997's November to Remember. Can Sandman go 30 minutes? Will Bam Bam Bigelow take a bump? Can the cheap ECW tables support Sabu's weight? We'll find out together in this review. The review starts at 39:54. Enjoy!
On this weeks episode, professional wrestling commentator Tax Williams and professional wrestling fan Rich complete the trilogy of ECW Pay-Per-Views from 1997 as they take a look back at November To Remember 97. How have stories progressed during this transitional period for ECW? Can The Sandman really be a main event player when he's heavily intoxicated? Is Shane Douglas really a face? All this plus a special message from friend of the podcast Konnan and Tax and Rich look at the state of wrestling in 2019. Conrad loved them. Tony never watched them. But 21 years later Tony has fallen in love with the action and carnage that was ECW! ECW! ECW! We take you back to the time when Shane Douglas won the ECW Title in his own hometown with Francine by his side. Was this a good or a bad ECW Pay Per View? Most viewers back then seemed split on the decision, but as Tony says: "...give me Francine, the Dudleys and Tommy Dreamer and Beulah then what more do you want?" In a time before pay-per-view, word of mouth became an important source for a small promotion to survive. And no promotion had better word of mouth than Extreme Championship Wrestling. Tape traders (yes kids, that was a thing) would go crazy over the little company that could from Philadelphia. Many of those key shows coming out of their home base of the arena on the corner of Swanson and Rittner. This is basically a house show (live event) that became a super show. It is also a precursor to what would become the only ECW PPV to happen every year from 1997-2000. The action on this show is not like your typical house show though and would be why this is one of the most talked about shows in ECW history. So join Harry Broadhurst and his special guest co-host, Wrestling 2 The Max's Gary Vaughn as they present a Wrestling Unwrapped special edition: ECW November to Remember 1995 here on the W2M Network.
