Recognizable by his nearly 400-pound frame and the distinctive flame tattoo spanning most of his bald head, Bigelow was hailed by Ryan Murphy (a writer for Bigelow's former employer WWE) as "the most natural, agile and physically remarkable big man of the past quarter century", while former colleague Bret Hart described him as "possibly the best working big man in the business."

In this exclusive interview I speak with WWE Legend, Scott Garland (Fka, Scotty 2 Hotty) This this utterly fascinating 75 minute conversation we discuss Scott's resurgence back on the Indys, across the US and his three tours of the UK in 2022. We discuss some of the larger than life characters he has faced in 2022, including Charles Crowley, Gene Munny and many more from the UK and Ireland. Scott give us his thoughts on the current WWE product with Triple H at the helm. Scott tells us about his wrestling fandom and some of the larger than life stars he use to watch as a kid, before his early beginnings in the wrestling business as a backyarder, before starting on the Indys in 1989. We discuss Scott's work as an enhancement guy in WWF from 1991 onwards, including Bam Bam Bigelow, Yokozuna, Mr. Perfect, Owen Hart, Steve Austin and many more, before being given his first WWF contract ahead of the WWF light heavyweight title tournament in 1997. Scott tells us about his first meeting with Brian Christopher in Tennessee, and how the friendship developed through to the early beginning of the legendary tag team, Too Much/Too Cool. Scott also tells us how Rikishi became a member of Too Cool and how they helped each other get to the top of the industry in the WWF. Scott tells us about his experience as part of The Attitude Era and how wild the scene and the schedule was when pro-wrestling was at its peak in 1998. Scott answers a fans question about his match against Dean Malenko at Backlash 2000 and the crazy finish to that match. We also discuss his 6 years as a coach for NXT and the Performance Centre in Orlando and why he eventually decided to leave the company in 2021. This is one of my favourite interviews of Wrestling With Johners and an utterly fascinating look back through Scott's incredible 32 year career in professional wrestling. We're in your house for the 3rd In Your House! This time, all the belts (championships, pal!) are on the line in the main event! If you could describe the year 1995 in wrestling with one word, it would be "YAWN!" However, you've got the best of WWF's best in this event with Diesel, Shawn Michaels, Yokozuna, and (supposedly) Owen Hart on top! Will there be shenanigans? OF COURSE THERE WILL BE! Meanwhile, the British Bulldog, Bam Bam Bigelow, Savio Vega, and Razor Ramon on the undercard. Also, Bret Hart and "The Pirate" Jean Pierre LaFitte just may steal the whole damn show.In the news, we talk about the Monday Night Wars starting up, who's coming and going, the card being in flux for In Your House 4, backstage drama, a knife being pulled by a father on his son in Memphis, and the most messed up show we've ever discussed in the history of our show taking place in San Francisco.ALL PODCAST, SOCIAL MEDIA, & MERCHANDISE LINKS: linktr.ee/MainEventMarksCHECK OUT OUR MERCHANDISE: MainEventMarks.redbubble.com & bonfire.com/store/maineventmarksGET FUELED WITH SHOCKED ENERGY: https://shockedenergy.com/collections/all?sca_ref=1814354.mOXH7RrwKh&sca_source=MainEventMarks (promo code: MainEvent for 10% off)KEEP YOUR COFFEE GIMMICK FREE AND FRESH ROASTED TO ORDER WITH COFFEE BRAND COFFEE: https://coffeebrandcoffee.com/?ref=WC7vE0tK (promo code: MAINEVENT for 5% off)GET AWESOME SPORTS T-SHIRTS: intheclutch.com/MAINEVENT (use code "MAINEVENT" for 10% off)ORDER FROM SWIFT LIFESTYLES: SwiftLifestyles.com, use PROMO CODE: MainEventMarks at checkout for 15% offLISTEN EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 9PM EST: tikilive.com/channel/BURNS

Today's New Generation Declassified features a special watch along featuring ECW's "Queen of Extreme" as we go back to the July 26, 1993 episode of Monday Night RAW to watch her Triple Threat teammate Bam Bam Bigelow battle Bret Hart in a rematch of the 1993 King of The Ring tournament final. Francine, who was in attendance at the Manhattan Center gives a birds-eye account of the night's events but also a great backstory on how she was able to get such a great seat to this RAW taping. This match is quite the classic as a great in ring contest is interrupted by Jerry "The King" Lawler who roasts Bret's parents who were sitting in the balcony.
Kris & David are back this week with another episode of BTS, going back to the 80's with Robert O'Connor (@ghostofquinones) making his return to discuss the week that was June 22-28, 1986.We start in the WWF, where we talk about George Scott being removed as the head booker as well as who his replacements were rumored to be at that time, which may surprise you. We also talk about Paul Orndorff's heel turn percolating on TV, the original plans for Harley Race's gimmick, and much more. Then, after a very short International section, we return to the U.S. territory scene, where we talk about an amazing money mark story, a segment with David Crockett & America's Team that made Dave Meltzer want to vomit, the greatness of Brad Armstrong in Continental, Bam Bam Bigelow running wild on Memphis TV, Bill Watts & The Freebirds get heated up in the UWF, and so much more.We then close with the AWA in a rarity for us, but they had a big week, as they did a LIVE show on ESPN, Battle by the Bay, that Dave Meltzer attended in person, so we have his live rundown as well as our thoughts, especially O'Connor's, and we talk about all sorts of other AWA stuff, as well.Just another classic O'Connor show, with an ending that you MUST listen to…Timestamps:0:00:00 WWF1:05:02 Int'l: 1:31:50 USA East: 2:37:25 Classic Commercial Break2:42:58 Halftime3:03:44 USA West: UWF…and then the recording goes blank for some reason near the end of that sub-section (We'll try to make it up during the week with a re-recording without O'Connor.)3:36:55 AWA4:28:15 Patreon Preview: Phil Mushnick and WWF spokesman Steve Planamenta do battle in Mike Mooneyham's weekly wrestling columnTo support the show and get access to exclusive rewards like special members-only monthly themed shows, go to our Patreon page at Patreon.com/BetweenTheSheets and become an ongoing Patron. In 1993, WWE decided to make their almost annual, King of the Ring tournament, the centre piece of a new Pay-Per-View event. The tournament would play host to one of the greatest nights in the career of Bret Hart as he faced Razor Ramon, Mr Perfect and Bam Bam Bigelow over the course of the night to take the crown and prove himself, by far and away, the best wrestler in the WWF. On the same evening, Hulk Hogan would make his last pay-per-view appearance for the company for 9 years, when he faced Yokozuna in a match for the WWF Title. The Random Wrestling Review is this week brought to you by Old Man, Matt and Tinky.

Due to a family emergency, we change gears for this week. The 1987 in the WWF Project returns next week. However, THIS is a Special Edition of the Grenade, as we go back to 1993 this week and cover the 2-Hour USA Special, the WWF's March to WrestleMania IX. An excellent addition to our 1993 Project that ended several episodes ago. The Macho Man meets Yokozuna, The Undertaker battles Bam Bam Bigelow, the Mega Maniacs shell out the most Drug-Infused Promo perhaps in the history of professional wrestling, plus so much more! It's a fun 90+ minute ride back to March of 93 and for those interested you can Watch-Along with us as part of the WWE Network or The Peacock. Thanks for sticking with the Grenade, and we hope you enjoy this special bonus edition.Available everywhere your Podcast Streaming App needs are met.- Visit our Podcast Network https://wrestlecopia.com- Follow us on Twitter @RasslinGrenade- Follow and LIKE our FACEBOOK PAGE https://www.facebook.com/RasslinGrenade- Subscribe to our Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/RasslinGrenade Originally, we intended for this episode to cover all of the news, notes, and arena result discussion for February 1987 in the WWF… That topic has been postponed until next week… And that's because I had a family emergency that started over the weekend. My grandmother who I have spoken of here from time to time on the show, who raised me from birth… Sadly, she experienced a major health issue Saturday morning pertaining to one of her arteries and underwent emergency heart surgery over the weekend. At 80 years old and with other health issues they really didn't think she would make it through the surgery. But after many of your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes I'm happy to say she DID make it through the surgery, and her circulation is probably the best it's been in 20 years. However, at her age and it being such a major surgery, she has a LONG road to recovery. Lots of therapy ahead in a rehab center to get her back walking and talking so it's still pretty rough emotionally and mentally on the family because even though she had issues getting around, she was always very vibrant and talkative and it's hard seeing her lay there so weak, groggy, unable to lift her head for long periods, and speaking so softly. But I keep telling myself the hardest part is behind her, I hope. She survived and now it's just getting back on her feet which is going to take some time. I thank all of the loyal Grenadiers out there, our listeners, for their support. With that said, we will pick back up with 1987 in the WWF NEXT WEEK when we begin to cover February 1987 on the road to WrestleMania 3. The Hart Foundation win the Tag Team Titles, Referee Danny Davis is FINALLY fired by Prez Jack Tunney, Barry Darsow replaces Randy Colley as Smash in Demolition, Outback Jack makes his in-ring debut, Andre the Giant officially makes his heel turn when he challenges Hulk Hogan to a Championship Match IN THE WRESTLEMANIA… and so much more. But for this week, given the brief time I had to put something together… For those who followed us before the 1987 project, you know that we did an extensive deep dive into the year of 1993 in the WWF… and that included all of the PPVs including WrestleMania IX… Mega MANIACS challenging Money Inc, Undertaker vs. Giant Gonzalez, Perfect vs. Narcissist, and WWF Champ Bret Hart battling Yokozuna… But with a week away from Mania… The WWF hosted a 2-hour special on USA dubbed the March to WrestleMania IX… One final monster push for the PPV with the likes of Macho Man Randy Savage taking on Yokozuna, The Undertaker going up against Bam Bam Bigelow, Kamala exacting revenge on his former handler Kim Chee, Mr. Perfect takes on Skinner in the final appearance of the alligator man gimmick, mixed tag action with Bushwhackers & Tiger Jackson (future Dink) vs. The Beverly Brothers & Little Louie. Kris & David are guestless as we discuss the almost-week that was May 19-23, 1995. We start off with WCW, where we talk about Slamboree PPV, the last to have the “Legends Reunion” theme, including Gordon Solie's "surprise" hall of fame induction, plus everything else on the show like Ric Flair injuring Angelo Poffo. We also talk about this show doing a subpar buy rate, even with a lot of star power, as well as a rare syndicated angle for this era involving "Dos Amigos" and a lot more.In Japan, we talk about all the happenings in AJPW, NJPW, and the indies, along with Canada & Mexico, before heading back to the U.S., where we talk about a big weekend for Smoky Mountain Wrestling that didn't deliver at the box office, Downtown Bruno forming a new Downtown Connection in the USWA, the Fabulous Freebirds reuniting (again) in the AWF, and much more. The World Wrestling Federation closes the show, as we talk about Shawn Michaels making his return from “injury” as a babyface against King Kong Bundy on Monday Night Raw and how Bam Bam Bigelow became the biggest third wheel in wrestling history next to him and Diesel, plus Bob Backlund running for president, Bret Hart going Attitude Era on Jerry Lawler two years early, and so much more. We've got an action-packed show this week with some great clips, so don't miss out!!!Timestamps:0:00:00 WCW1:24:12 Int'l: AJPW, NJPW, FMW, Specialist Global Pro, West Japan, PWFG, RINGS, AJW, JWP, CRMW, AAA, & CMLL1:49:33 Classic Commercial Break1:53:36 Halftime2:16:50 Other USA: IWF, USofA, ECW, SMW, USWA, GWA, MTW, WCPW, AWF, & APW3:23:07 WWF3:53:25 Patreon Preview: Phil Mushnick's infamous front-page “Sex, Lies, and the WWF” column about Vince McMahon's performances on TV relative to what he told Phil about the Titangate scandalsTo support the show and get access to exclusive rewards like special members-only monthly themed shows, go to our Patreon page at Patreon.com/BetweenTheSheets and become an ongoing Patron. The Recognized Symbol of Excellence, in Sports Entertainment!Host Ray Russell has a blast going back in time to 1986 in the World Wrestling Federation in order to analyze and dissect all the goings-on heading into the new year of 1987. This episode is LOADED with news, notes, background history, fun anecdotes, a deep dive into the ENTIRE WWF roster leading into 87, and yes plenty of SOUNDBITES for your listening pleasure! Some of the topics discussed on this episode of the Grenade include...VINCE MCMAHON'S PILLAGING OF THE MONTREAL TERRITORY - The WWF swoops in to take the remaining top stars of the Montreal territory including the Rougeau Brothers, Rick Martel, and Dino Bravo!THE HOT FEUDS OF 1986 - We discuss at length the hottest feuds of 1986 that carry over into the new year, including PIPER VS. ADONIS, SAVAGE VS. STEAMBOAT, AND HULK HOGAN VS. "MR. WONDERFUL" PAUL ORNDORFF! Plus, Ray discusses the Orndorff heel turn, the financial success of the Hogan/Orndorff feud on the house shows, the underlying Macho Man vs. Bruno Sammartino feud that came out of the Steamboat injury, Adrian Adoni's "firing" and rehiring in the midst of his feud with the Hot Rod, and so much more!HEEL REFEREE DANNY DAVIS - We document many of the concerning issues inside the ring with questionable referee Danny Davis throughout the fall and early winter of 1986. Jack Tunney would have to be blind not to see the shenanigans caused by Davis, and the worst is yet to come!ANDRE THE GIANT MAKES HIS TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO THE WWF! - We look at Andre's acromegaly, his "suspension" from the WWF, his stint in New Japan following WrestleMania 2, his return to the WWF as THE GIANT MACHINE, his time away to film The Princess Bride, and Andre's return to the company following a questionable hearing in which Andre wasn't a part of... but Bobby Heenan was!!! HmmmmmTHE HONKY TONK MAN TURNS HEEL - We discuss one of the shortest babyface runs in WWF history as the Honky Tonk Man arrives with support from the likes of WWF Champion Hulk Hogan, but the fans just aren't buying it. After losing a "Vote of Confidence" Poll with the fans, Honky finds a new attitude, as well as a new manager.SATURDAY NIGHT'S MAIN EVENT RESULTS FOR NOVEMBER 1986 - The WWF Champion Hulk Hogan is put to the test by Booby Heenan's most recent acquisition, HERCULES. Plus, Roddy Piper moves on from former bodyguard and best friend "Cowboy" Bob Orton, and a rare "Battle of the Heels" when IC Champion Randy Savage defends against tweener Jake "The Snake" Roberts!GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN - A quick look at a couple of names who have recently departed from the company including Capt. Lou Albano and Big John Studd!NEWCOMERS IN 1986 - We run down the list of many of the talents who arrived on the scene in 1986 and discuss what they've accomplished this far and where they're at, headed into 1987. Some of the names featured in this segment include "King" Harley Race, Dick Slater, Mike Rotunda, Koko B. Ware, the formation of the Islanders tag team, The Rougeau Brothers, Blackjack Mulligan, Tom Magee, "Outlaw" Ron Bass, Brad Rheingans, Sika the Wild Samoan, "Ugandan Headhunter" Kamala, Dr. of Style Slick along with his protege "The Natural" Butch Reed, Ken Patera released from prison, Outback Jack taking QANTAS to the States. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan headed in, and a young lad by the name of OWEN HART!!!QUESTIONS ANSWERED... HOW DID SLICK BREAK HIS ARM? WHO WAS NEXT IN LINE FOR "THE NATURAL" CHARACTER IF BUTCH REED HAD BACKED OUT??WHAT PROMO GOT PRO WRESTLING BANNED FROM RAY RUSSELL'S BEDROOM TV???JIM NEIDHART'S TROUBLED PAST - What started out as research for the January 1987 arrest of Jim Neidhart following an alleged assault of a flight attendant, turned into an exposé of sorts on the legal troubles of the Anvil. While uncovering the full story of what took place aboard the U.S. Air Flight in 1987, I also uncovered several stories dating back to the 1970s including one of Neidhart leaping off a 4th story balcony with a Fire Extinguisher strapped to his back and swinging from 4 bed sheets tied together like Tarzan into a lower level apartment's plate glass window. Unbelievable! From there we look at Vince McMahon fronting Neidhart the money (and the attorney) to sue the Airlines, a case that Neidhart won (over $300,000 in 1991 money) and then refused to pay McMahon back! Crack is a helluva drug!WRESTLING INJURIES - PAUL ORNDORFF & THE DYNAMITE KID - We look at the knee injury of Dan Spivey and the broken toes of Jacques Rougeau before getting to the real meat of the Injury Stories leading into 1987. First, we take a look at the nerve damage to the neck and shoulder of "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff, his refusal to take time off, and all of this leading to atrophy in his right arm. From there, we move on to the case of the Dynamite Kid, another man who was working with multiple injuries before they caught up to him one December night in Toronto. We discuss the temporary paralyzing back injury of Dynamite, the surgery that followed, and the ramifications that would plague him for the remainder of his wrestling career.WRESTLEMANIA III NEWS - We look at the initial plans to have WrestleMania 3 in three different locations yet again, what caused the decision to be nixed, and some of Dave Meltzer's guesses as to the matches on the big show, involving the likes of Mr. T teaming with Roddy Piper, a babyface return of Big John Studd, and Bruno Sammartino stepping into the ring to team with VINCE MCMAHON!!!WWF ON FOX - The fledgling Fox Broadcasting Company acquires the WWF on many of their larger city FOX affiliates, prompting all local affiliates to go with the WWF should they want wrestling programs on their station!HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD - Acting fever is in the air, all the way back in the mid-1980s. Everyone wants to be in the pictures including Jesse "The Body" Ventura, Ricky Steamboat, Big John Studd, and Hulk Hogan... brother!HERE & THERE - Random bits of news and notes discussing Roddy Piper's refusal to work the Pacific Northwest shots due to his loyalty to promoter Don Owen. Hot Rod no showing Fresno due to a High-Speed Chase with the law. The WWF putting the screws to JCP as they create their own Bunkhouse Battle Royals. The WWF adding a THIRD HOUSE SHOW every night, and much more!AND THEN THE FUN BEGINS!! PULL UP YOUR COPY OF THE WWF ROSTER!!!We've made it available on social media, Twitter, Facebook, Patreon.com/WrestleCopiaIt's the full 1986/1987 WWF ROSTER as we analyze and dissect over SEVENTY, that's 70 SUPERSTARS!!! Running 3 shows per night, you need all the talent you can get, and the WWF roster is STACKED here heading into 1987 as we take a brief look at what many of the talents were doing in 1986 and what to expect in the early part of 87. The roster chart is broken down into the heels and the faces, the main eventers, upper-tier players, mid-carders, the lower tier/enhancement talent, tag teams, and yes even the managers! It was an absolute delight running through the loaded roster and talking about what we can expect in the new year of 1987!STILL TO COME... Oh, but we aren't done yet. In the final segment of the show, Ray talks about many of the wrestlers and things still to come in 1987. Just a few of those topics include Missy Hyatt and "Missy's Manor", The Ultimate Warrior, "Ravishing" Rick Rude, Bam Bam Bigelow, The One Man Gang, "Million Dollar" Man Ted Dibiase, Mr. T, The Glamour Girls vs. The Jumping Bomb Angels, Sensational Sherri, Bruce Prichard, Piledriver the Wrestling Album, the SLAMMY AWARDS, and the inaugural SURVIVOR SERIES PPV!Strap yourselves in for a fun ride as we kickstart 1987 in the World Wrestling Federation!★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★
ECW was always the "wild west" of professional wrestling. The Marks (Troy & Greg) were not fans, but they're expanding their horizons by covering this one. Rob Van Dam and Sabu (both clients of Bill Alfonso) were feuding over the TV Title. The Dudley Boyz took on Tommy Dreamer and Sandman (who was wrestling with a neck injury). Bam Bam Bigelow and New Jack brawled all over the arena. Closing the show, Al Snow gets his shot at the ECW World Heavyweight Title against Shane Douglas, who is wrestling with a laundry list of injuries. This was Al Snow's final appearance in ECW before hopping over the WWF, so he tried to make it special. In the news, we talk about DX "invading" WCW Nitro, the ratings wars continuing, what's going on in Japan and Mexico, and much more!ALL PODCAST, SOCIAL MEDIA, & MERCHANDISE LINKS: linktr.ee/MainEventMarksCHECK OUT OUR MERCHANDISE: MainEventMarks.redbubble.com & bonfire.com/store/maineventmarksGET FUELED WITH SHOCKED ENERGY: https://shockedenergy.com/collections/all?sca_ref=1814354.mOXH7RrwKh&sca_source=MainEventMarks (promo code: MainEvent for 10% off)GET AWESOME SPORTS T-SHIRTS: intheclutch.com/MAINEVENT (use code "MAINEVENT" for 10% off)ORDER FROM SWIFT LIFESTYLES: SwiftLifestyles.com, use PROMO CODE: MainEventMarks at checkout for 15% offLISTEN EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 9PM EST: tikilive.com/channel/BURNS

Kris & David are back to discuss the week that was March 30th - April 5th, 1998. We start off in the WWF and Monday Night Raw from night after WrestleMania XIV, where Sean Waltman made his return as the unnamed new member of DX, but he wasn't the only debut: Kaientai and Dan Severn showed up, plus Val Venis's vignettes started airing, too. (Also, the New Age Outlaws joined DX and The Nation of Domination turned on Farooq.) We then go to Japan to talk about Antonio Inoki's huge retirement show at the Tokyo Dome, Mitsuharu Misawa getting injured on the road to AJPW's own show at the Big Egg, Promo Azteca's TV situation in Mexico, and so much more. After that, go back to North America, where we talk about the greatness of Robin Hood, one of the greatest matches in ECW history in the form of Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Rob Van Dam, Dave Brown's return to Memphis wrestling being finalized, & STEVE SAX showing up for a NWC show. We then close with a typically loaded 1998 WCW section, featuring a wild and wacky Nitro, as well as Eric Bischoff sounding off on Sean Waltman and tons more on Prodigy. It certainly was The Usual Suspects in the two World Title matches on this show, but they were so, so good! While Triple H, John Cena, & Randy Orton fought in a Triple Threat match for the WWE Title, the Undertaker and Edge competed for the World Heavyweight Title and to see whose WrestleMania undefeated streak would stay alive. World Champion boxer, Floyd "Money" Mayweather, also steps foot into the squared circle to take on the Big Show in the biggest celebrity WrestleMania match since Lawrence Taylor battled Bam Bam Bigelow in the main event of WrestleMania XI. On top of all that, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair put his illustrious, legendary, Hall of Fame career on the line against "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels in a match that will live on in the hearts and minds of wrestling fans for eternity. In the news and notes, the Marks (Troy & Greg) discuss the pathetic lows that TNA sunk to during this time, some hilarious injuries that happened on live TNA pay-per-view, and a legend announcing his return to the ring......in the NWA......in 2008. All that and much more this week on the podcast!ALL PODCAST, SOCIAL MEDIA, & MERCHANDISE LINKS: linktr.ee/MainEventMarksCHECK OUT OUR MERCHANDISE: MainEventMarks.redbubble.com & bonfire.com/store/maineventmarksGET YOUR SPORTS SWAG ON FANATICS: fanatics.ncw6.net/jxzKMORDER FROM SWIFT LIFESTYLES: SwiftLifestyles.com, use PROMO CODE: MainEventMarks at checkout for 15% offLISTEN EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 9PM EST: tikilive.com/channel/BURNS
