It's the Match 26th, 1996 episode of ECW Hardcore TV featuring matches from ECW Big Ass Extreme Bash. It's the final match for Cactus Jack in ECW before he goes to the WWF. He is facing his former tag team partner Mikey Whipwreck. Everyone is very grateful for Cactus Jack's time in ECW and he gets a very nice send off! “The Orange and Black Attack” Taz takes on Chris Jericho is a great match. This is unique as the ref stops the match after Chris Jericho hurts his neck. However, Jericho wants to continue the match, so it is restarted! Also, in the main event, Raven defends the ECW World Championship against “The Franchise” Shane Douglas. This features tons of shenanigans involving The Bruise Brothers, Stevie Richards, Blue Meanie, Tommy Dreamer, The Sandman, and Kimona Wanalaya. The show may be called "November to Remember," but both the show and the year 1995 are things WE DO NOT want to remember! Per our usual arrangement, this show was a bleeding, disorganized mess. We did get to see some crazy things like Mikey Whipwreck defeating Steve Austin (pre Stone Cold) for the ECW Title and "The Hardcore Legend" Terry Funk in tag-team action with his protege, Tommy Dreamer. But beyond that, you're looking for corn in a turd. This dropped (pardon the poop pun) a day before Survivor Series and while the WWF wasn't pumping out golden content at this time, ECW was putting out a MUCH inferior product (in our opinions). In the news, we cover the ongoing (and brand new) Monday Night Wars, the WCW and NJPW relationship going into Starrcade, ECW in hot water with the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission over a fire incident, ECW wrestlers jumping ship, the economy crashing in Mexico effecting the wrestling industry, whether or not Randy Savage is injured, and much more! It's sometimes nice to see "new people" being put in the main event, but not this time. Balls Mahoney ends up going one-on-one with Rob Van Dam to close the show and it was NOT GOOD. A SHOULD BE main event ECW Title match is actually near the middle of the card. It also goes from Taz defending against Masato Tanaka to a Three Way Dance when Mike Awesome gets involved...AND WINS! This will open the door to a HUGE controversy for ECW that involves WCW and the WWF as Taz is on his way out and, unbeknownst to anyone, so is Mike Awesome. There is an awesome opening contest between Lance Storm and Jerry Lynn. There's enough on this card to keep it from being completely unwatchable, but it was good ole crappy ECW. In the news, we discuss Eric Bischoff being fired from WCW, Sting's heel turn going horribly wrong, Taz leaving ECW, rumors regarding the NFL paying off WWF, and much more! Hello and welcome back to The Lawcast. This time our hosts cover one of the weirdest Summerslams ever, it's Summerslam 2006. We've got a mismash of eras on this one as the card features a collection of stars from the previous 20 years. We've got John Cena vs. Edge for the WWE Championship and King Booker vs. Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship, plus DX vs. The McMahons. Things get really weird on the undercard with Mick Foley vs. Ric Flair in a feud that prominently features Melina, Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Orton, and Big Show vs. Sabu for the ECW Title.
The tribe of extreme has risen again! The year is 2006 and WWE has rebooted ECW. Recently Paul Heyman turned and helped the Big Show beat Rob Van Dam to become ECW Champion. Tommy Dreamer is upset that Paul Heyman turned his back on the people who helped make ECW successful. He wanted answers, instead he got a kiss from Paul Heyman and beat up by Test. As WWE ECW World Champion, The Big Show has invited The Undertaker to come to the land of extreme to challenge for the title! This would be one of the only appearances for The Undertaker in ECW. It is truly a sight to see The Undertaker make his entrance through the ECW crowd! CM Punk & Balls Mahoney tells us what makes them extreme, The Sandman doesn't like Mike Knox stopping Kelly Kelly's Expose, and Sabu out wrestles Stevie Richards in a normal singles match. WWE ECW sure was interesting to say the least. Yes...this is THAT SHOW. Not only did the main event of the secondary show involve a tag-team match for the WCW World Heavyweight Title, but a Hollywood actor pinned the President of the company to win the belt. Yup...this is all real. This would also be the third title change in less than 2 weeks. WCW was dead at this point, but this just really drove the knife in deeper, making sure that body was a corpse. Beyond this, we've got Ernest Miller in action against Bam Bam Bigelow, Billy Kidman continuing his feud with Hulk Hogan (through ANOTHER Hogan), Sting in a Tables match against The Wall (that actually happened), Tammy (AKA, Sunny) "wrestles" against Paisley (AKA, Sharmell), and everyone gets a run-in and an afterbirth to their matches. In the news, we discuss controversies over the WWF's TV deals, a WCW wrestler facing a WWF wrestler for the ECW Title in ECW, Tazz getting buried in WWF, and WCW continuously crapping the bed at every turn on both TV and PPV. This may be one of the greatest ECW shows ever and was their very first ever pay-per-view. Terry Funk takes on the Sandman and Stevie Richards in a 3-Way Dance where the winner will face Raven in the main event for the ECW Title. This was a big, crowning moment not only for Funk but also for the company as a whole. Shane Douglas and Pitbull #2 had a brutal brawl over Douglas breaking Pitbull #1's neck. Taz and Sabu has an awesome fight to culminate their blood feud, and this one ends in a big twist! There's also much more on this show. Episode Ninety Three - ECW Champions in WWEIn the mid 2000s, with no real competition to speak of WWE started a love affair with the ECW Brand. Purchased after the company fell on hard times, there seemed to still be a desire in the fan base for a rebirth of the brand and after successful one night stand ppv's WWE pulled the trigger on a third brand under the name of Extreme Championship Wrestling! What followed was 4 years of a watered down product which got closer and closer every episode to the same old WWE formula, and which eventually felt very much like an after thought. However what of the champions, treated as World Champions, despite it being distinctly third behind the WWE and World Title belts, the ECW Title still held a little bit of importance. Our latest episode see's us look at every title holder and title change for the WWE ECW brand from 2006 through to 2010, from RVD through to Ezekiel Jackson...Zeek won a world belt? Somebody had better call creative!
In the final episode of ECW Hardcore TV, we take a look back at the final days of Extreme Championship Wrestling, one of the most iconic wrestling promotions in history. From the hard-hitting matches to the memorable personalities, we reminisce on the unique and innovative style that made ECW stand out in the wrestling world. We'll also discuss the impact ECW had on the industry and the lasting legacy it has left behind. Join us for this nostalgically charged tribute to the final chapter of ECW. It's NEW YEAR'S EVE & it's time for the 7th episode of our journey through ECW 1995. Episode 7 of Season 2 is here and as per usual ACEFIELD RETRO returns with MIKE BELCASTER to chat about an extreme happening. We take on HARDCORE HEAVEN 1995 and will dissect all of the HARDCORE TV results from where we last left off to continue building some much-needed context for our journey into ECW's influential year. We are without BENOIT, GUERRERO & MALENKO for the first time as they are in JAPAN but this gives us a preview of what it'll be like when they leave for WCW. It's time for ECW to try and full the massive void. We have another CACTUS JACK and SANDMAN match for the ECW TITLE. It's here: we have the TAIPEI DEATH MATCH between the IAN & AXL ROTTEN. We had a title change since the last time we came to you & STEVIE RICHARDS/RAVEN are beginning their reign as TAG CHAMPS. We also get an explosive, insane brawl between the GANGSTAS & PUBLIC ENEMY in the main event. We will continue to do the other thumbing into Dave Meltzer's newsletter as it happened in real-time to bring in CONTEXT and help us submerge ourselves completely back to 1995 to gather an understanding of what the wrestling world was like as ECW was continuing to expand into what we eventually saw it become. Kris & David are joined by "The Bone Collector" Dominic Garrini (@dgarrinibc) to discuss the week that was December 1-7, 1996, a show requested by Jared Hunt after dropping $25 on our Patreon. We start with the UFC and their big Ultimate Ultimate 2 PPV show, which Dave Meltzer was in attendance for. Dave gives a full rundown of the fight week wackiness along with all of the happenings during the card…and there were a lot of them. (His first WWF trip to upstate NY since being assaulted in Syracuse over a year earlier, to boot.) We also talk about the birth of Samurai TV! in Japan and the impact that would have on the business there and tape collectors abroad, as well as all of the other major news there. We then go to Mexico, talking about the legendary Hijo del Santo vs. El Dandy vs. Negro Casas lucha de apuestas tearing up Arena Mexico, Raven regaining the ECW Title from the Sandman in a barbed wire match at the ECW Arena, the Nation of Domination running wild in the USWA with the debut of Queen Moesha, the beginning of the end of Paul Alperstein's AWF, and then close with WCW. A wild Monday Nitro features Scott Hall & Kevin Nash having an amazing night of commentary when nobody expected it...literally, and much more. Intro song: "Now is the Time" by Dope from the album "Group Therapy" Outro song: "Real Swagger" by Armored Saint from the album "Nod to the Old School" Both songs are available on iTunes Show them that podcasting sells records!

We then go to the WWF, talking about WWF & AAA hooking up to try and sell out the Alamo Dome in San Antonio for the Royal Rumble, babyfaces and heels blurring the lines more than ever before, as well as Shawn Michaels having a bad night in Poughkeepsie, New York when the fans were getting to him. A tremendous show here, folks, so you know the drill...LISTEN NOW!!!!!!!!Timestamps:0:00:00 UFC1:36:33 WWF2:55:27 Eurasia: Samurai TV/Inoki Festival, AJPW, NJPW, BattleARTS, BJPW, FMW, Michinoku Pro, Tokyo Pro, AJW, GAEA, Jd', & CWA3:57:40 Classic Commercial Break4:00:59 Halftime4:10:25 Other North America: Tiger Jeet Singh, AAA, CMLL, & Promo Azteca4:33:54 Other USA: UCW, USA Pro, ECW, MEWF, TMW, Robert Gibson/Pensacola, IWAMS, USWA, CWA (TX), SoCal Lucha, & AWF6:02:24 WCWTo support the show and get access to exclusive rewards like special members-only monthly themed shows, go to our Patreon page at Patreon.com/BetweenTheSheets and become an ongoing Patron.
