The favour factor for the believer is rooted in God's decision to not only be with us but under the New Covenant, to be in us. I am certain we have not plumbed the depth of what this means. Every believer has this favour factor. It is the force that brings God in on your behalf to put things in your favour in the face of every contradicting forces. It is this factor that will put you where you natural abilities can never put you. Every Patriarch enjoyed the favour factor. The favour factor is the presence of God. Luke 5:17 revealed how this favour factor manifested in the healing ministry of Jesus: “One of those days, as He was teaching, there were Pharisees and teachers of the Law sitting by, who had come from every village and town of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was [present] with Him to heal them.” In 2025, the favour factor will help you. The same Holy Spirit that helped Jesus healed people and that raised Him from the dead is presently at work in you who has been joined together with the Lord Jesus.

Faith That Follows - Matthew 18:15-20: This Sunday we continue our study in Matthew 18, focusing on a delicate passage that deals with resolving conflict within the church. Upon reading verses 15–20 you may be tempted to call this passage ‘Three Strikes and You're Out!' … yet a deeper delving into the heart of Jesus may find us singing a different song by the end of our time together! How good are you at pointing out the faults in others? Hold that thought, pray over it and let's meet together in the Word this Sunday. With the commencement of Advent just a week away and the celebration of the Lord's supper at the end of our service this week, this passage will, in God's mysterious way, prepare our hearts for what lies ahead! See you Sunday and bring a friend!! Remember, where two or three are gathered, God is in the midst.

-I have asked one thing from the Lord... to live in the house of the Lord -You lack one thing... to put your trust in Jesus -One thing is necessary... to be at the feet of Jesus -One thing I know I was blind, but now I see -Do one thing: leave the past behind you and focus on the hope of Christ ahead
What could God do in you lifetime? In this message, Pastor Josh Husmann share about how Paul challenged the church at Ephesus to work together and how you can see the fullness of God working through you.
In this message, Willie Robertson shares his story of how the Gospel changed his life, how it can change yours, and how God wants to use you to share the Gospel to change others' lives. Could you share the gospel with another person? Would you know where to start? Do you even know what the gospel is? It's the Good News of Jesus, and a gospeler is simply someone who shares it with others.

Luke 18:15-17 NLT One day some parents brought their little children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But when the disciples saw this, they scolded the parents for bothering him. Then Jesus called for the children and said to the disciples, “Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn't receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” Jesus made His message clear: He wants parents to bring their children to Him to touch and bless. He wants no one to stop His interaction with His kids for any reason. There is no such thing as “bothering” Jesus for you or your kids. In fact, He said His kingdom belongs to children. No matter how old someone is, the way to enter His presence is to have the heart and faith of a child. Is it time for you to take your kids to Jesus and, all of you, even you as their parent, become like little children before Him? How would it look different in your life to approach your Father as a little child? Maybe there would be less pressure on trying to be perfect to approach Him? Picture yourself coming to His open arms as the little girl or boy that you were. Read just verses 15 and 16 again with the emphasis only on the parents, the children, and Jesus: One day some parents brought their little children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. … Jesus called for the children and said …, “Let the children come to me. … For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children.” Today, for our closing prayer, in this quiet moment, envision bringing each of your children before Jesus. Ask Him to hold them, love them, and bless them. And while you're there, as His child, allow Him to do the same for you. “As above, so below, Amen.”

So often, we hear someone speaking out of our sight, yet we are nearly certain who is speaking because the voice is familiar and distinguishable from others we know. Surely, by the tone, pitch, or cadence we realize it is a friend or family member with whom we converse every day. Those who follow Jesus recognize his voice, but this familiarity requires spiritual discipline and daily practice. We must allow ourselves silence – declare a cell phone and social media freeze – for a few moments each day so the Lord can speak to our hearts. The more we listen, the more we recognize his voice. It is a voice of grace, mercy, and compassion, a soothing voice of the one who loves us and who will guide us through our daily lives.
'As Jesus' disciples we get to be about the good work of sharing the word of God with the world.'- -If you are anything like me, a statement like this will stir up a mixed response. The idea of sharing the word of God fills many people with a sense of duty, fear, and guilt rather than confidence and joy. The end result of such feelings is a stopping, even a fleeing from the good work. Does that ring true for you as well-- Why do we feel this way as followers of Jesus-- One reason is found in our passage in Matthew this week. Speaking the word of God can come with a heavy cost. The cost of rejection, even going so far as imprisonment and death - costs suffered by those who spoke God's word throughout history. But God doesn't want his people to stop the good work, and so he calls us who are faithful back. He does so, not with judgment ready but with gentle grace - a grace that is only afforded to us by Jesus.

Luke 9:57-62 57 As they were going along the road, someone said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.” 58 And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.” 59 To another he said, “Follow me.” But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” 60 And Jesus said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” 61 Yet another said, “I will follow you, Lord, but let me first say farewell to those at my home.” 62 Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”

Welcome to Episode #137 of Way of the Bible podcast. This is our first of eight episodes in our eighteenth mini-series which is entitled, Son of God and Son of Man. As a follow-up to our last episode, A Walk on the Beach with DrZ [17], I thought it would be beneficial on this episode to tie into another passage that illustrates Jesus is the same as God in the Old Testament. Jesus – One WITH the Father. If you're a long-time listener you know I love to plow not just through a little, but a lot of scripture each and every episode. My words are not the vehicle by which the word of God animates, coming alive as the Holy Spirit guides and teaches us all things both of this life and the life to come. It is by the spoken word of God on this podcast God moves to encourage us in the Holy Spirit to live a life reflective of his divine will. That we would be joyful always, praying continually, and thankful in all circumstances (1 Thes 5:16-18).Before we get to the scripture, a little background that will help put perspective on why I choose the passages I did for this episode. We're starting this mini-series in the deep end so take a big breath. Over the past thirty years plus years I've been reading the Bible every year, teaching the Bible, leading Bible studies, and learning as much as I could about Jesus. All the while I've continued to pursue secular vocational pursuits to fund my Bible habits of teaching, preaching, and earning two seminary degrees. The secular pursuits were shut down by the pandemic in 2021 and are just now being revived. During the shutdown I launched this podcast and began to pursue my passion of introducing people to the entire Bible, book by book. While writing, recording, and editing episode after episode of the entire Bible I confirmed I knew a lot of information about God and Jesus Christ his Son as revealed in the Bible. I also knew by revelation and Holy Spirit rebirth I had intimacy and a personal relationship with both Jesus and God the Father. I've had sporadic and dramatic encounters with Jesus and Father that have involved miraculous events, dreams, and visions. And that is what I thought was normal for a believer to encounter along the way. And perhaps that is, BUT:During my podcast overviewing of the books of the Bible I had a progressive revelation as I went book by book. I knew something was different this time through the Bible when I read 2 Kings 23:1-30 for the umpteenth time in preparing the episode for that book. This section is entitled in the ESV, Josiah's Reforms. That title says little about what I saw. While it seems I'm digressing, and perhaps I am just a bit, I think it is important enough that I continue. I pray you bear with me as I do.

Pastor Jay Kim shares important insights from Paul's letter to the Colossians and how this letter stresses the tremendous importance of understanding who Jesus Christ truly is. He is the author of a 40-day study on the book of Colossians that shares the message of unity among the followers of Christ; a message of thanksgiving and spiritual fullness in a broken world; a message that shows us how to live as the people who are made alive in the one true Christ. hopealongthejourney.org https://www.facebook.com/HopeAlongTheJourney --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mark-cravens7/support
This sermon explores John's first heavenly vision where he is told to record what he sees and send it to seven churches. Part of this vision is a sword that comes from the mouth of Jesus, the only weapon that is ever associated with Jesus. Why is this symbol important? What does it mean? And what is the significance of it being his only weapon? The sermon answers these questions.

In addition to weather forecasts that predict occasional inclement conditions and heavy precipitation, our own lives may include difficult “storms.” Like Jesus' disciples out on a boat in the rough sea, we may feel the waves tossing and fear the waters will overwhelm us. These storms of life can involve physical or emotional suffering, personal or family struggles, fractured relationships or increased stress and anxiety due to the daily expectations. Remember though, Jesus is in the boat with you, keeping you from sinking, if only you take his hand. The One who cries out: “Take courage, it is I...do not be afraid.” Do not rely on yourself to calm the seas of life. Rest in God and he will bring you peace.

We are so often afraid to share our faith because we won't know what to say, we won't be prepared for objections, or we won't have the answers to the questions that are asked. We feel like we are the primary part of the process and we talk...
