La Asociación de Vecinos de Caranza ha alertado sobre la «desidia» de la Xunta de Galicia respecto a la línea de autobús Ferrol-Santiago, gestionada por Monbús, que afecta a trabajadores y estudiantes universitarios. Según la entidad, la directora general de Movilidad, Judit Fontela Baró, «no desbloquea la situación con Monbús y permite que nuestra solicitud se dilate en el tiempo», afectando a los barrios de Caranza, Recimil, Inferniño y Ultramar. Los vecinos recuerdan que llevan meses reclamando el restablecimiento de paradas que existían en la antigua F14 antes de las obras, como las de Caranza y el barrio del Pilar. «Llevamos tres años subiendo a la estación de autobuses por las obras, pero ya es hora de recuperar lo que nos corresponde», sostienen. Por otra parte, el Concello de Ferrol ha aprobado la licitación de las obras de conservación y mantenimiento del centro cívico de Caranza. Con un presupuesto de 581.467,91 euros y un plazo de ejecución de seis meses, la intervención forma parte del convenio de regeneración urbana firmado con la Consellería de Vivenda e Planificación do Territorio. El proyecto permitirá resolver problemas en la envolvente del edificio, protegiéndolo frente a agentes atmosféricos y garantizando que sus dependencias interiores puedan utilizarse con seguridad y salubridad. «Os veciños de Caranza poderán desfrutar do centro cívico na súa totalidade unha vez finalicen as melloras para eliminar as humidades e filtracións», afirmó el alcalde, José Manuel Rey Varela, quien añadió que «grazas a esta obra recuperaremos a biblioteca de Caranza».
