In this episode of Inklings, we go over the talk Lost Luggage, Redeemed Souls by Gary E. Stevenson
In this episode of This Is Kingdom: A Good News Brand Podcast, Grace, Talon, TJ, and Hollis discuss Elder Gary E. Stevenson's talk Lost Luggage, Redeemed Souls, exploring what it means to be more accessible and present in our relationships. Inspired by the story of an airport that hasn't lost a single piece of luggage in decades, they reflect on the simple but powerful idea of keeping your "handles facing outward" so others can more easily reach, connect with, and rely on you.Through personal stories and practical examples, they discuss answering unexpected phone calls, warmly welcoming people into your life, and overcoming the fear of being the one who reaches out first. The conversation highlights how genuine connection often begins with a simple act of initiation and why choosing to care is far more meaningful than trying to appear indifferent. This week's challenge is to perform one intentional act of initiation every day. Whether it's making a call, sending a text, extending an invitation, or starting a conversation, small efforts to reach out can strengthen relationships and reflect the way we connect with both people and God.

Lost Luggage and Blake's Violent Wake Up by Maine's Coast 93.1
Here are the Strangest Lost Luggage Items left behind at Airports
A suitcase goes missing for nine days across multiple airlines and countries, and we turn the chaos into a clear, repeatable travel system. Alexa walks through the exact steps that lowered stress, sped up delivery, and maximized reimbursements while touring, teaching, and performing on the road.We start with prevention that pays off when things go wrong: layer-by-layer packing photos, a simple cloud inventory, suitcase shots, and bright identifiers that make claims painless. You will hear which items should never leave your carry-on, why sentimental or irreplaceable pieces either stay home or stay with you, and how old, overstuffed luggage quietly raises your risk of damage. We dig into AirTags and Tiles, airline bag-tracking apps, and when travel insurance is worth it for long or complex trips—plus how it filled the gap when airline reimbursement fell short. Then we get tactical. At the first hint of a delay, work every channel: line up at the gate desk, rebook in the app, and call the airline at the same time. If your bag does not arrive, head straight to the baggage desk before leaving the airport, file a claim, and lock down your reference number. Keep every receipt, scan everything, and centralize notes, photos, tags, and forms. Learn how to contact partner airlines to find the last scan, what daily allowances typically cover, and how to choose versatile essentials that carry you through work and play without wasting money. We also cover deadlines for delayed, damaged, and lost luggage, passenger rights under US DOT, EU 261, and the Montreal Convention, and how to coordinate benefits across the airline, your insurer, and your credit card.Travel smarter, not harder. Save this playbook for your next trip, share it with a friend who checks bags, and tell us your wildest lost-luggage story on socials. In the United States, the airline industry loses an estimated 2 million bags annually. Now you might be wondering, where do all those lost bags end up? Well Jason and Peter were able to get a definitive answer to that question. The majority end up in Alabama! Really, no Really! Our guest Bryan Owens discusses his unique family business…which has been dealing with lost and unclaimed luggage for over 50 years. Their enormous store, in Scottsboro, Alabama - which covers more than a city block - sells tens of thousands of unclaimed baggage items every year. And with five decades of experience processing enormous volumes of lost items, Bryan reveals some of the one-of-a-kind pieces found in unclaimed luggage… including a 3,000-year-old Egyptian burial mask, a live rattlesnake, and even a shrunken human head which you can see in the store's recently opened museum. IN THIS EPISODE: The Unclaimed Baggage origin story and how they stock 7,000 new items every day. Airlines responsibility regarding lost luggage, settling claims and when Bryan's team can take over. Who gets first dibs on valuable or in-demand items when lost luggage is recovered? A highly secret F14 guidance system, live venomous snakes and suits of armor are just a few of the bizarre things Bryan must deal with. How you can save up to 80% by purchasing someone else's lost items! How Bryan Owen's business employs dozens of pricing experts, authenticators and even GIA certified appraisers so he can issue certificates of authenticity. The psychology behind why most people don't attempt to reclaim their stuff! Jason's secret to finding lost items…look in the pickle barrel! We'll have a new episode next week, but this week, we revisit one of our most popular episodes from 2023:We've all failed. Most of us would rather not talk about it, but the Museum of Failure does more than talk about failures. It celebrates them.U.S. airlines lose millions of pieces of luggage annually. Most of them don't just vanish, they end up in the same place. (It's not the landfill.)It's been a calling card of the dining experience at Olive Garden for decades - unlimited breadstick and salad refills.
