Fernando Aguerre es marplatense y es Presidente de la Asociación Internacional de Surf, se encuentra en Tokio con motivo del inicio de los Juegos Olímpicos y en diálogo con Encuentro Nacional dio detalles del arduo trabajo que realizó para lograr que el surf sea reconocido como deporte olímpico "Pasé 12 mil horas trabajando para lograr esto, perdí 84 mil olas que podría haber surfeado y estuve con esto, a veces creo que estoy loco" Fernando recordó los inicios del deporte, "cuando no tenía trajes o la tabla no tenía cuerdas y se le escapaba en la rompiente de Mar del Plata y se rompía contra las piedras" "Es el año más radical del surf en la historia, cuando el domingo a las 7 de la tarde de Tokio, 7 de la mañana en la Argentina, los surfistas más grandes del mundo estarán en las playas de Tokio". Aguerre contó detalles de la disciplina, cómo se evalúa la puntuación y lo que ven los jueces cuando miran desde la costa. Durante la charla también contó cómo se debe surfear, algunos tips para iniciarse en el deporte y por sobre todas las cosas contagió entusiasmo emoción y expectativas con sus palabras.
Fernando Aguerre era un joven surfista marplatense recién recibido de abogado cuando decidió irse a vivir a California para volver a juntarse con su hermano Santiago. No podía imaginarse una vida sin él, su mejor amigo. Pero lejos de resignarse a convertirse en Gringo, supo que tenía que encontrar la manera de seguir conectado con sus raíces. Así crearon juntos la famosa marca Reef. Como si eso fuera poco, Fernando se convirtió en Presidente de la Asociación Internacional de Surf y después de años de lucha, logró meter este deporte en los Juegos Olímpicos.
