Ses bonnes pratiques en matière de santé mentale : Accepter que la santé mentale demande du temps et de la régularité : la préparation mentale, ce n'est pas trouver une solution magique qui va marcher du jour au lendemain. Au contraire, il faut accepter que c'est un processus, une faculté qui se construit dans le temps, en répétant et en intégrant des exercices. Savoir convoquer des pensées positives ou des souvenirs joyeux dans les moments de stress. L'exercice de la caméra : sur le conseil de son préparateur mental, Karim a fait l'exercice plusieurs fois en entraînement de raconter tout ce à quoi il pensait, tout ce qu'il voyait à voix haute, comme s'il avait une caméra sur son épaule. L'objectif : prendre conscience de ses pensées parasites, pour pouvoir les éliminer. Sometimes all of the training and preparation in the world doesn't get you to the Paralympic podium. Boccia player Alison Levine experienced that firsthand during the Paris 2024 Paralympics, when tournament bracket design forced her to face the other top player early on in the elimination rounds. Play didn't go her way, and she didn't get the results she wanted. It didn't get better in the mixed doubles tournament, when she and teammate Iulian Ciobanu lost to Thailand in the bronze medal match. Even with the disappointment, Alison's Paris experience was, on the whole, a good one. Along with talking about the tournament and how she regrouped after the Paralympics, Alison tells us about life in the Athletes' Village, how accessible design made life a lot easier for a couple of weeks, and the infamous Paris 2024 chocolate muffin. L'hiver étant bien installé, je me sens d'une heure nostalgique, nostalgique de l'été 2024 pour deux raisons. La première raison, j'allais avoir sept ans, donc mes premiers souvenirs de vie remontent plus ou moins à cette période-là. La seconde raison, et attention, pas des moindres, un événement planétaire, m'avait marqué. Les Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques. Alors que ce soit les cérémonies d'ouverture ou de clôture ou les différentes épreuves, l'enthousiasme qui s'en dégageait avait marqué la petite fille que j'étais. Alors que le monde était déjà malheureusement à votre époque sous tension, avec des guerres et des actes criminels, gravissimes, les gens partageaient leur joie de vivre et un fort sentiment de cohésion ressortait de ces événements-là. Alors avec du recul, je me demande comment, dans un pays aussi miné par les conflits, vous avez pu faire preuve d'un élan collectif aussi fort. Alors c'était peut-être consciemment ou inconsciemment, mais tout le monde avait un objectif commun, une fois les jeux ouverts.Réussir, c'est les Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques. Alors une fois cet objectif posé, on voyait bien que les énergies, les dynamiques et les forces convergeaient dans le même sens et pouvaient même renverser les montagnes. Alors je sais que je me répète, mais ce sont vraiment ces élans collectifs, cette cohésion qui vous aideront à relever les défis de votre époque. C'est en agissant ensemble et non les uns contre les autres que nous pouvons créer un futur réellement résilient et durable. This week, Kelly talks with the French Ambassador for Sports, Samuel Ducroquet, about the growing role of sports in diplomatic efforts. Samuel Ducroquet was appointed French ambassador for sport in February 2023. He joined the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs in 2007 as an International Civilian Volunteer at the French Permanent Mission to the EU in Brussels, and has since worked as a political advisor at the French Embassy in Qatar. His experience as an Olympic attaché at the French Embassy in Tokyo allowed him to develop a real expertise on sports diplomacy, reinforced by his position as senior manager in charge of the dignitaries programme in the International Relations Department of the Paris 2024 Games organizing committee, from 2022 to 2023. U.S. Olympians Jasmine Jones and Shamier have signed with Grand Slam Track ahead of the professional track league's inaugural season in 2025. Jones wrapped up her senior year at USC with the NCAA indoor 60m title and NCAA outdoor 400m hurdles title. She ran personal bests in the 400m hurdles four times in the year, which culminated with a 52.29 performance for fourth place in the Olympic final – just .14 seconds shy of a medal. Little is a two-time World Championship silver medalist in the 400m hurdles. At the Paris Olympics, she was part of the world-record setting mixed 4x400m relay and earned a silver medal in the mixed 4x400m final.
