CLICK HERE to check them out for a 24 hour free trial and use the code MADS for 40% off their yearly subscription.Fran Bushe is an award-winning comedian, writer and performer who has had sold-out runs at Soho Theatre and The Roundhouse. She's written features for The Guardian, Cosmopolitan, Metro and been a guest on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour. I invited Fran to chat on the pod about her book: My Broken Vagina. The book follows her funny, moving, and sometimes awkward quest to fix her sex life. It mirrors the story of millions of women everywhere - with half of all women having felt pain during sex.During Fran's journey towards a better relationship with her genitals, doctors advised her to have a glass of wine to loosen up, and male friends suggested she simply hadn't 'tried' the right penis yet. Unsurprisingly, neither worked. After a visit to Sex Camp and many attempts to fix her 'broken' vagina, Fran decided to share her own hilarious, excruciating, and sometimes upsetting experiences. With the help of her 16 year old self's diary, expert advice, candid and enlightening interviews with others about sex, and some self-care exercises, Fran sets about trying to make herself, and other people, feel like they're not being gaslit by their own vaginas. In this episode, we chat about female sexual dysfunction and the variations, vaginismus, self esteem and mental health, staying present and much more!Submit your dating questions through madsworld.mp3, and my guests and I will answer them on the show! S3x Talks is the new series exploring issues around s3x, desire and the female pleasure taboo and for the first session of the year, I thought I'd bring a little bit of comedy to our sex chats. Following the publication of her new book, My Broken Vagina, author and comedian Fran Bushe joins me on the Sex Talks stage to discuss all she learned at Sex Camp - the two-week “conscious sexuality festival” that offers workshops designed to reconnect attendees with their sexual “juices". *This episode is a live recording of a previous Sex Talks event.* After struggling to climax for years, Fran set out to discover how to have better orgasms. The result is a raucously funny, informative and at times heart-rending book into which we are going to deep-dive over the course of the evening. I'll also be joined by sex educator, artist, and body-positive champion, Ruby Rare, who's on a mission to engage people of all ages in positive conversations about their pleasure. The author of 'Sex Ed: A Guide for Adults', there really is no one better to guide us through an evening discussing sexual self-exploration.  Enjoy the show! Emma-Louise x

Half of all women have experienced pain during sex. Yet the subject remains taboo, and help and understanding from the medical profession can be very hard to find.  In this week's episode Fran Bushe, author of My Broken Vagina, shares her funny, moving quest to fix her sex life (and yours). During her journey toward understanding vaginismus, Fran was advised by doctors to have a glass of wine to loosen up, male friends suggested she just hadn't tried the right penis yet, and she even visited a Sex Camp.  Andrew and Fran discuss how understanding the vagina better can enhance sex lives for women and men. They also talk about how to overcome pain during sex, move past the idea of penetration as “real sex”, and find a deeper level of pleasure for both of you.  Follow Up Join our Supporters Club to access exclusive behind-the-scenes content, fan requests and the chance to ask Andrew your own questions. In this episode I speak with Fran Bushe about her sexual journey. We discuss painful sex/vaginismus, lack of sexual enjoyment/orgasm, an array of methods that Fran has tried and where she is with her journey so far.   About Fran: Fran Bushe is an award-winning comedian, writer and performer. She has had sold-out runs of her multi-award winning show Ad Libido, and wrote The Diary of My Broken Vagina for Channel 4 Comedy in 2019. Fran has spent years ‘boning up' on sex. She has spoken with leading researchers, pleasure coaches and interviewed a growing number of people about their sexual experiences. It has also meant flustering many helpful members of staff at The British Library, with endless requests for books on the clitoris. She's popped crystals in her vagina, attended a vulva massage workshop and visited a sex camp where she had her ‘Yoni' (…vagina) worshipped. Her candid approach to discussing sex and pleasure has led to her speaking with BBC Woman's Hour, Cosmopolitan, The Sunday Times and Jameela Jamil's ‘I Weigh'. In 2018 she won Performer of the Year at the Sexual Freedom Awards (the statuette of which is a large golden winged phallus, which lives on her parents' mantlepiece).   Where to find Fran: My Broken Vagina by Fran Bushe | Waterstones Instagram - @franbushe   Where to find me: beckycrepsleyfox.com Instagram - @becky_crepsley_fox TikTok - @becky_crepsley_fox Clubhouse - @becky_c_fox Facebook - Becky Crepsley-Fox
