The Lazy Girl's Guide to Podcasting: A Podcast about Podcasting and Podcasting Tips
Welcome to a bonus episode of the Lazy Girl's Guide to Podcasting! This episode, I'm sharing eight essential tips to help you prepare for the Podcast Show London 2024 or any podcast event you might attend.First things first, remember to eat amidst the excitement. Networking is crucial, so spend time chatting with others, even if you're attending solo. Don't miss out on exploring the exhibition stands; last year, I had a blast discovering new tech and ideas. Ensure you check the schedule and have a backup plan in case sessions are full. It's important to keep a cool head if things don't go as planned - don't be a twit if a session is full. Asking questions during talks can be invaluable, so don't shy away. Make sure you tell people about who you are and your show; you never know who you might meet. Lastly, have something tangible like cards or QR codes to share your podcast info easily. These tips are not just for the Podcast Show London 2024 but can be applied to any podcasting event you attend.Let's make the most out of these opportunities, learn as much as we can, and perhaps, I'll get to meet some of you there!Timestamps:00:00 Welcome to the Bonus Episode!00:18 Getting Ready for the London Podcast Show00:50 8 Essential Tips for Podcast Show Preparation01:43 Networking and Making the Most of the Event02:17 Exhibition Stands and Scheduling Strategies04:12 Handling Full Sessions Gracefully05:37 Engaging and Asking Questions06:19 Promoting Your Podcast Effectively08:25 Final Thoughts and Takeaways

They have to know london inside out and back to front they have to be able to talk in detail about streets where they happen to be guiding in London and they're so revered that they're the only external guides allowed to conduct tours at sites like Westminster Abbey and the Tower of London. Well, hey nonny NO, you did NOT just create a whole, new religion just because you didn't fancy your wife anymore and the grass was green(sleeves)er on the other side of the fence? That Henry VIII sure has a lot to answer for, including Brexit, in the opinion of this week's incredible guest, comedian and self-confessed romance king, Russell Kane. Yes, this week, we're going all Tudor on your ass, as we get down into the business of KH the 8th and his first wife, Catherine of Aragon, who was selfish enough not to provide a male heir to the throne, so frankly, what else did she expect than being flung onto the scrap heap – it wasn't the worst thing Henry ever did to his wife, after all. As always Grainne and Chantal revel in the mess and let's face it, the drama of today's royal family has NOTHING on the escapades of this lot. So, grab your lute, don your ruff, and get this Tudor feast, fit for a king into your ears. Don't forget to join Chantal and Grainne at this year's London Podcast festival on 15th September, with special guest, Christopher Hall! We exist to help you have better conversations about the issues and the changes that matter. We do so by being clear, accurate and impartial. Also, light-hearted, engaging and occasionally (but not as often as we think) amusing. It's not just about understanding the facts and the topics themselves but also looking at why different people hold the opinions they do. Those with whom you disagree aren't monsters. Understanding and respect are at the core of everything we do. Our core offering will always be free. Unfortunately, giving things away for free isn't a great business model. We've never been business people. But. We do need to make this work. We do so through our amazing supporters, who keep us going by buying stuff in our shop and making monthly donations. The first ever live guest for Changes!! Ella Vaday is the drag persona of Nick Collier and self-proclaimed “drag beast from Dagenham East” who dominated the UK's third series of Drag Race UK, almost winning. In this special episode recorded in front of a live audience at the London Podcast Show, Nick explains how despite appearances he hasn't always been so confident in his identity. As a young boy Nick went through numerous challenging changes in quick succession and was always in denial about being gay unti much later in life. Here, he discusses how he came through these changes, came out to his family and starred in West End musicals like Wicked, Book of Mormon, Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat and Cats. That is before the pandemic forced him to stop rehearsing for Hairspray and start stacking shelves in Morrisons. It was then that Nick honed his skills as drag queen Ella Vaday, on instagram, in lockdown before applying for Drag Race, the rest, as they say, is history! This is a conversation about identity, gender conditioning, starting things later in life, believing in yourself to overcome setbacks and how we can change the world if we can just allow ourselves to to live our truth! Changes is now a deaf friendly podcast and you can access transcripts here, spread the word! https://www.anniemacmanus.com/changes See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
