We all know about the blind spots that plague us while driving our vehicles, but few of us stop to consider the unseen realities shaping our spiritual walk. In this episode, part two of the sermon series "That's Crazy," Pastor Ryan Kramer explores the famous biblical encounter between Jesus and the Roman centurion in Matthew 8. This text reveals a sobering truth: out of all the religious leaders and lifelong insiders surrounding Jesus, it was a complete outsider who left Him completely amazed. By analyzing the stark contrast between the centurion's faith and the town of Nazareth's ultimate unbelief, this message acts as a "parking sensor" for our hearts. It forces us to confront whether we are merely seasoning our lives with occasional drops of Christianity or if we are fully surrendering to Christ's absolute authority. The message outlines three essential truths that define a faith that moves God: -- Faith sees Jesus differently. The kind of faith that amazes God does not look at Jesus as a convenient helper to make life comfortable. It recognizes Him as the absolute Lord over all creation, rendering everything else secondary. -- Faith trusts Jesus completely. True trust does not dictate the how, when, or where of a miracle, but simply says, "Just say the word." When our desire for personal control increases, our active trust in God's plan decreases. -- Faith responds immediately. Real, saving faith is never passive or abstract. It moves us to action, requiring us to yield our immediate circumstances, marriages, finances, and futures into the hands of the Father. Read OnlineJesus said to the crowds: “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draw him, and I will raise him on the last day.” John 6:44In today's Gospel, Jesus continues His conversation with the crowd who sought Him out after performing the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes. As the conversation continues, Jesus deepens His clarity about His relationship with the Father, His divine identity, the Father's action in our lives, and the gift of Himself as the Bread of Life. The passage above reveals an essential spiritual principle we must understand as we work to strengthen our relationship with God: Faith is a response to the Father's call, not something we initiate on our own. This principle is crucial because faith is not primarily a resolution we make to grow closer to God; rather, it begins as a resolution from the Father in Heaven Who draws us to Himself by drawing us to His Son, Jesus, especially in the Eucharist.Practically speaking, this principle must guide our prayer lives. Though it's good to make a conscious effort to pray every day, to meditate on the Scriptures, recite devotions, and attend Mass as often as possible, we must always see those efforts as a response to God's invitation rather than our own good idea. It's a subtle, though important, distinction. To illustrate, consider the Gospel story of the contrasting prayer of the Pharisee and the tax collector in Luke 18:9–14. In that parable, the Pharisee offered many prayers each day and fasted regularly, but his prayers went unheard and his fasting was unfruitful. Why? Because his actions were not initiated by God but were works of his own doing. In contrast, the tax collector, aware of his sin and need for God's mercy, humbled himself and prayed, “O God, be merciful to me a sinner.” That prayer was beautiful and fruitful because it was a response to God Who revealed his sin to him and called him to repent, which he did.Today's Gospel lesson comes to us within the context of Jesus' teaching on the Eucharist. Therefore, we must especially apply His opening words to the way we participate in the Mass. Our choice to attend Mass is not something we do as a favor to God. Instead, our participation in the Mass must be a response to the Father Who offers us the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus, His Son, as the spiritual food we need in order to attain everlasting life. Participation in the Mass is God's gift to us, and our response must be authentic prayer. Our participation in the Mass becomes authentic when we recognize that the Father is inviting us to receive the Eucharist as “the living bread that came down from heaven” and Jesus' “Flesh for the life of the world.” The Mass is about receiving God into our lives, not because we choose to put Him there, but because we say “Yes” to His invitation to be drawn to Him. The word “Eucharist” means “thanksgiving,” and this must be our prayerful response to such a great gift. We must foster an attitude of sincere gratitude for the Father's invitation to share in the Sacrifice of His Son so as to be given the unmerited gift of eternal life.Reflect today on your participation in the Mass. If you ever feel that your attendance is a favor to God, pause and listen to the Father's voice calling you. Try to hear Him invite you to this most precious Feast. Become aware of the Father drawing you to the Mass, to His Son, the source of eternal life. Respond with humble gratitude, knowing that there is no greater gift you can receive.Heavenly Father, You constantly speak to me, call to me, and draw me to Your Son. Please open my ears to hear Your gentle voice, offering me the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Son in the Holy Eucharist. May my participation in that unfathomable Gift be one of sincere gratitude for the eternal gifts You invite me to receive. Send us Fan MailFaith gets thrown around so easily that it can start to feel like a foggy word, even when you're a Christian who's trying to do the right thing. I wanted to slow down and say what faith means to me right now: it's not only belief in God, it's belief in the dream He put in you and the willingness to bring that dream into real life. That's where manifestation comes in, not as “magic,” but as focus, imagination, and action meeting prayer.I talk about my own goal of becoming a professional comedian and what it looks like when you pair spiritual belief with real discipline: getting up early, putting in reps, and learning to “see the finish line” before you ever touch it. We also get into what makes comedy hit, layers of dark and light, and why having a specific outcome matters even when you're talking about hard topics. The bigger point is simple: clarity gives you leverage. When you can put your faith into words, you can live it on purpose. We close with an image I can't shake: God is like a fire. If you stand far away and complain it's cold, the problem isn't the fire. If any of this connects with you, listen, share it with a friend, and leave a review. In Matthew 17:14-21 we explore the contrast between spiritual mountaintop experiences and the messy reality of daily life. The central message emphasizes that effective faith is not about our strength, abilities, or spiritual performance, but about complete dependence on God. The sermon challenges the American cultural value of independence, calling believers instead to recognize their need for God's power in every impossible situation. Through the disciples' failure to heal the boy and Jesus' immediate success, we learn that ministry without dependence on God is doomed to failure. Even mustard seed-sized faith, when placed in an almighty God, can move the mountains in our lives—whether those mountains are broken marriages, financial crises, health issues, or addictions. The sermon concludes that God is not asking for bigger faith, but for deeper dependence.
We grew up being told not to question God. So we finally did. In this episode, Sisco and Mike are joined by Ernie Lima — a TikTok creator and deep-dive researcher into ancient history, metaphysics, and world religions — for one of the most wide-ranging conversations we've ever had on the show. We start where a lot of us started: Catholic households, rosarios every night, and being shut down every time we asked "but why?" From there the conversation goes places we didn't expect — and we couldn't stop it even if we tried. IN THIS EPISODE: → Growing up Catholic and being told never to question your faith → Why Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are all technically confirming each other — and still at war → The slave Bible: how they removed every part about freedom before handing it to enslaved people → Jesus's missing 20 years — and the theory that he traveled to India and studied Buddhism → The Anunnaki, Planet Nibiru, and whether ancient religions are actually alien origin stories → Atlantis, the Great Flood, and the giants who may have built the megalithic structures we can't explain → How religion has always been used as a political tool — and still is today → Where we all personally landed: spiritual, not religious → And why without wisdom — you're just a puppet GUEST: Ernie Lima TikTok: @ernie.lima Instagram: @philosofil.bear YouTube: @ernie.lima CONNECT WITH US:

Trials are not obstacles to faith—they are God's training ground for spiritual maturity. Through testing, endurance, and reliance on God's wisdom, believers are shaped into people of faith who reflect the character of Christ. In this teaching, we walk step-by-step through James 1 and examine how spiritual growth develops through:• Trials that initiate faith • Testing that produces patience • Endurance that builds character • Wisdom that comes from God • Faith that creates stability • A kingdom perspective on wealth • Eternal rewards for endurance • Understanding the origin of sin • Recognizing God's unchanging character • Receiving God's Word with humility • Living out the Word in obedience • Demonstrating true religion through righteousnessJames reminds us that spiritual maturity is not simply hearing God's Word—but doing it.If you want to understand how God uses life's trials to refine your faith and produce lasting spiritual growth, this study of James Chapter 1 will give you a powerful biblical framework for your journey.Episode Summary (Show Notes Version)The 12 Steps of Spiritual Growth (James 1)Trials initiate spiritual growth – Faith begins to grow through testing.Trials test our faith – Testing produces patience.Endurance builds character – God walks us through the fire, not around it.Maturity seeks wisdom from God – We depend on God, not our own understanding.Faith creates stability – Believers must avoid being double-minded.Kingdom perspective on wealth – Wealth is a tool, not an identity.Endurance leads to eternal reward – The faithful receive the crown of life.Understanding the origin of sin – Desire → temptation → sin → death.Recognizing God's character – God is the giver of every good gift.Receiving the Word properly – Be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.Hearing and doing the Word – Spiritual alignment requires obedience.Evidence of true religion – Practical righteousness, compassion, and holiness. These steps show how God forms believers through trials, wisdom, humility, and obedience.Call To ActionIf this teaching blesses you:• Follow TS Wright Speaks on your favorite podcast platform • Share this episode with someone who wants to grow spiritually • Leave a review to help others discover biblical teachingJames 1 Bible Study, Spiritual Growth, Christian Spiritual Growth, Book of James Study, Trials and Faith, Christian Maturity, Biblical Wisdom, Faith and Endurance, Bible Teaching Podcast, Christian Theology Podcast, Christian Discipleship, Kingdom Perspective, Christian Spiritual Formation, Faith Development, Bible Study Podcast, New Testament Teaching, Christian Living, Biblical Character Development, Christian Podcast#BibleStudy #James1 #ChristianPodcast #SpiritualGrowth #FaithInTrials #BiblicalWisdom #ChristianDiscipleship #NewTestamentStudy
What does it mean to test God? And how do you know when something that looks like faith is actually foolishness? In this sermon from Matthew 4:5-7, we examine the second temptation of Jesus in the wilderness. Satan takes Jesus to the pinnacle of the temple and even quotes Scripture (Psalm 91) to try to convince Him to prove Himself. But Jesus exposes the trap by responding with Deuteronomy 6:16 — “You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.”This message explores a dangerous spiritual mistake many people make: misusing the Bible to pressure God into proving Himself. You'll learn:- Why Satan quoted Scripture during Jesus' temptation- The difference between real faith and testing God- How people today misapply Bible verses like fortune cookies- Why trying to force God's hand is not faith- How the story of Massah in Exodus connects to this temptation- Why trusting God's character is better than demanding proof- Whether you are exploring Christianity or have followed Christ for years, this teaching will help you recognize when faith crosses the line into foolishness.- The good news of the Gospel is that even when we fail, God's grace meets us in our foolishness and calls us back to trust Him.- Stop testing God. Start trusting Him.Scripture in this Message- Matthew 4:5-7- Psalm 91- Deuteronomy 6:16- Exodus 17 (Massah)Topics Covered- The Temptation of Jesus explained- Misusing Scripture- What it means to test God- Faith vs foolishness- Trusting God in difficult circumstances- Spiritual warfare and temptation
What happens when God prepares you for nearly two decades before revealing your next assignment? In this episode of The Impossible Life Podcast, Garrett Unclebach and Nick Surface sit down with entrepreneur and community leader Rod Vilhauer, who shares the incredible journey that led him from business success… to personal desert… to stepping into a completely unexpected calling: running for mayor of Frisco, Texas.Rod built a company that generated $400 million a year in revenue, only to watch it collapse and spend the next 18 years walking through a season of waiting and testing. What looked like a desert was actually preparation.Through stories about faith, perseverance, and sowing seed when nothing seems to be growing, Rod explains how God uses difficult seasons to build the character needed for future leadership. The conversation explores:Why God often spends more time working in a person than working through themHow seasons of struggle build the foundation for purposeThe biblical principle of sowing seed even in droughtWhy faith requires looking vertical instead of horizontalThe role Christians should play in leadership and public lifeWhat it looks like to step into purpose even later in lifeRod also shares the story of his brother planting crops during a drought when every other farmer said it was pointless—only to see an incredible harvest later. The lesson is simple but powerful: If you stop sowing, you eliminate your chance to reap.Whether you're in a season of waiting, wondering about your calling, or trying to understand how faith intersects with leadership and culture, this episode will challenge you to keep sowing, keep trusting God, and stay ready for the moment when the door finally opens.Because sometimes the longest seasons of preparation lead to the most unexpected purpose.Join a group of likeminded Impossible Life listeners in our FREE Skool community by clicking here.Get the Purpose Playbook by clicking hereGet the FREE Basic Discipline Training 30 Day Program by clicking hereJoin us in Mindset Mastery by clicking hereIf you're a man that wants real accountability and training to be a leader, click here.Level up your nutrition with IDLife by clicking hereGET IN TOUCHSocial Media - @theimpossiblelifeEmail - info@theimpossible.life

This sermon explores the encounter between Jesus and the Canaanite woman in Matthew 15, examining what genuine, persistent faith looks like. The message challenges the common "Sunday school" perception of Jesus as only gentle and mild, revealing Him as also confrontational when addressing hypocrisy. Through the Canaanite woman's story, the sermon demonstrates that authentic faith is bold, humble, desperate, and unrelenting. It addresses the difficult reality that God is sometimes silent, but His silence is never absence—rather, it's an invitation to deeper trust. The woman's persistent pursuit of Jesus despite cultural barriers, silence, and seemingly harsh words reveals that great faith doesn't demand entitlement but cries out for mercy. The sermon emphasizes that faith isn't fragile but fierce, refusing to quit when obstacles arise, and that even a crumb of God's grace is sufficient to change everything.

What if the hardest path in your life is actually the right one?In this episode of The Impossible Life Podcast, Garrett Unclebach and Nick Surface unpack the biblical, psychological, and practical meaning of the narrow road—and why so many people misunderstand it.Using Scripture, real-world examples, and powerful analogies, the conversation reframes the narrow road not as religious restriction, but as God's process for transformation. The broad road promises clarity, comfort, and predictable outcomes—but only reveals its true cost later. The narrow road offers uncertainty upfront, but leads to life, maturity, and alignment with God's purpose.Garrett explains how the narrow road began with sin entering the world, how it culminates in Christ, and why walking it—not just knowing it—prepares you for eternal life and real leadership. Together, Garrett and Nick explore why certainty kills faith, why God prioritizes who you become over what you achieve, and how this dynamic applies to marriage, business, parenting, and suffering. In this episode, you'll learn:Why the narrow road exists and what it's designed to produceThe difference between knowing the gate and walking the roadWhy God is a God of process, not shortcutsHow belief, surrender, and trust are forged through uncertaintyWhy transformation—not outcomes—is God's primary goalHow the narrow road unlocks paths forward when life feels blockedIf you're frustrated, confused, or stuck—and the easy options feel empty—this episode will give you a new framework for understanding what God may be doing in your life right now. There is a way forward. This sermon explores the account of Jesus walking on water to meet His disciples during a storm, emphasizing that obedience to God does not exempt believers from life's storms. Through Matthew 14:22-33, the message reveals that storms are not always signs of disobedience but can be part of God's design to deepen our faith. The sermon teaches that God's timing may seem delayed but is never late, and that Jesus often allows us to reach the end of our own strength so we learn to fully depend on Him. The central truth is that peace is not found in stormless seas but in a steadfast Savior. Like Peter, we are called to step out in faith, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus rather than our circumstances. When we begin to sink, Jesus immediately reaches out to rescue us, and every storm we survive becomes a platform for deeper worship.

And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.” - Romans 5:3-5 Maybe what God is doing is working in you, I told my friend. I had run out of ideas. I didn’t know what to suggest. Her circumstances were not easy, and I could hear the frustration in her voice and tears on the other side of the phone. God must have a plan right now. In a season where she didn’t know what God was doing, I was sure He was doing something. I had heard this idea at church recently, that during challenging circumstances, God works in us. He works things out in us and through us. Whenever I go through trials or hard times, Romans 5:3-5 have been my favorite verses. It says that when we go through trials, it develops within us endurance and strength of character. There is something good that can come out of our suffering. One time, in particular, I can remember these verses speaking to me. During quarantine, sickness hit our home. At the same time, our air conditioner stopped working (it was late summer). I got a painful bite from what I guessed to be a horsefly. Then, our ceiling started leaking due to a storm. Surprisingly, at that point, I took it in stride, because so many things had been happening. I found my strength in the Word, in God. I turned to my Bible and read this passage from Romans aloud. If nothing else, I could trust that there is a purpose behind the hard things that happen. God is still doing something. He can work in us. Not only does God develop endurance and strength of character in us, but this passage in Romans says that “… character strengthens our confident hope of salvation” (Romans 5:4). This encourages my heart. Paul continues, “And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.” There is a purpose for our struggles, and we are reminded that our loving God is trustworthy. In this time of trial, my friend has also said that God is refining her. In 1 Peter, there is a passage that says, “These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world” (1 Peter 1:7). There have been many moments in my life that I haven’t understood, but the changes within myself have been worth it. His saving me and growing me brought me to the closeness I have with God and a better understanding of the Gospel. Intersecting Faith & Life: Another passage to lean on during hard times is James 1:2-4: “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” How can the passages in Romans and in James encourage you during challenging times? Are you going through a hard time right now? Let His Word give you hope. Lord, Thank You that we always have hope in You. Thank You that there’s always a purpose for our suffering and that You are working something out in us. Thank You for what You are developing in our hearts. Lord, draw near to and comfort those who are suffering right now. In Jesus’s name, Amen. What kind of life pleases God? According to Hebrews, it's a life of faith—and Pastor Josh McPherson makes it plain: faith is obedience. In this message, Pastor Josh calls Grace City Church into a continued season of consecration through prayer and fasting, urging the church to get “off the X” and move with urgent, wholehearted obedience. From Jonathan's climb toward overwhelming odds (1 Samuel 14) to the fresh hunger God is stirring in our people, this is a rallying cry to become a Jonathan Church—a remnant that runs toward the fight, trusts God for provision, and watches heaven respond.Support the showThanks for listening! Have you ever been angry, frustrated, or upset with God — and felt guilty for even admitting it?In this Christmas Eve episode of The Truth Response, Derek, Matt, and Dave have an honest, Scripture-grounded conversation about anger toward God, His silence in the wilderness, and learning to trust Him when life doesn't follow your timeline.Through personal stories of divorce, ministry transitions, parenting, unanswered prayers, and seasons of waiting, the guys explore a question many believers are afraid to ask out loud: Is it okay to be mad at God?This episode dives into:Feeling abandoned or unheard when God is silentThe biblical idea of the wilderness as a place of preparationWhy God's silence doesn't mean God's absenceParenting analogies that reveal God's patience and disciplineTrusting God's plan when you don't understand the timingWhy staying in relationship with God matters more than pretending you're okayFrom David's suffering, Israel's 40 years in the wilderness, to modern faith struggles, this episode reminds us that God has broad shoulders — and He would rather you come to Him angry than walk away entirely.

What if the biggest battle you're facing isn't your circumstances—it's the spiritual warfare happening in your own heart? If you've ever felt like you say you trust God but struggle to actually live it out, this episode is for you. Let's talk about how to trust God with all your heart and overcome the faith struggles that keep you stuck. Trusting God is the foundation of our faith—it's how we live a life led by the Holy Spirit. But when we've been hurt or let down before, that mistrust can creep into our relationship with God, even when we don't realize it. In this episode, I'm sharing my skydiving story (talk about a leap of faith!) and walking you through three powerful truths to help you overcome spiritual warfare and actually trust God with all your heart: How to pray honest prayers when you're struggling with faith Finding the root of where your mistrust actually started (hint: it probably wasn't with God) Feeding your mind with God's Word to build unshakeable trust I also share an incredible story about my client Lindsay who experienced breakthrough after 40 years, and a powerful middle-of-the-night revelation God gave me from Psalm 27:3 that's going to encourage you right where you are. Even when battles come against you—financial struggles, marriage issues, rebellious kids—you can choose to trust Him. Even then, you can be trusting. Ready to step into more trust with the Lord? We set out to talk deadlifts and gym bro nonsense… but before I knew it, we’d skipped the weights entirely and started lifting something way heavier - the big questions of faith, spirituality, and existence itself. What began as banter turned into a deeply honest dive into Harps’ innermost thoughts on God... from religious upbringings to strange unexplainable moments, and the kind of conversation that rarely make it to the mic. Welcome to Wellspring Church! Why does grace offend us? In this week's message, Dr. Mark Young unpacks the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard (Matthew 20) to show how Jesus' teaching about the Kingdom of God upends everything we assume about fairness, worth and reward.Through a rich explanation of the parable's context, we see that the landowner's generosity—paying all workers the same wage regardless of hours worked—wasn't unjust, it was grace. This kind of grace doesn't play by the world's rules. It's shocking, lavish, even scandalous—and it mirrors the grace God shows us in Christ.
“Playfulness of God!” Together, we'll explore the joy, imagination, and delight woven into our faith—seeing God as a God who plays, learning from children's trust, and celebrating friendship and worship with laughter and joy. Come and experience the wonder of a faith that is alive and full of play! Pastor Karla engages us in understanding that while it is important that we discern God's voice, trusting the truth when we hear is something we can learn from children. Passage: Matthew 11:25; Luke 18:16 We have three worship opportunities for you to experience: 9:00 a.m. - Sanctuary Service 9:30 a.m. - Online Service 10:30 a.m. - Chapel Service Please consider joining us for one of these services. This powerful message, “The Make-up of a Mother,” peels back the surface to reveal the God-given identity and inner strength of moms. It's not about the mascara or concealer—it's about the spiritual DNA hand-picked by God: Faith, Favor, and Fire. From the unrelenting faith of the Canaanite woman, to the wisdom-seeking favor of the Queen of Sheba, to the fiery leadership of Phoebe—the Bible shows that mothers are more than caretakers; they're spiritual warriors, wisdom seekers, and world-changers. This message isn't just a celebration—it's a commissioning. Mama, you weren't made up. You were made new. And you were made for more.
In episode SIX of One, Holy, Christian, and Apostolic, Wade and Jason discuss the first few sections of the third chapter of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, which focuses on faith as man's response to God, using Abraham and Mary as examples. We hope you enjoy the episode and look forward to exploring the One, Holy, Christian, and Apostolic faith together more in episodes to come.
