Eli Beer is a pioneer, social entrepreneur, President and Founder of United Hatzalah of Israel. In thirty years, the organization has grown to more than 6,500 volunteers who unite together to provide immediate, life-saving care to anyone in need - regardless of race or religion. This community EMS force network treats over 730,000 incidents per year, in Israel, as they wait for ambulances and medical attention. Eli's vision is to bring this life-saving model across the world. In 2015, Beer expanded internationally with the establishment of branches in South America and other countries, including “United Rescue” in Jersey City, USA, where the response time was reduced to just two minutes and thirty-five seconds. Having COVID was as shitty as expected, but I'm pumped to be feeling much better. I won't try training until Sunday, but I can't wait to get back on the mats for jiu jitsu. Knowing I would probably never finish Try Not to Die: Super High, I decided to scrap all the death scenes and am currently rewriting it to be the first novella in the Doomed to Die series. My friend Brian Ochoa killed it on his latest Try Not to Die creation. Shirts and stickers arrive this week so I can send off some special packages. I had a great talk with mark Mowse and Daemon Manx, the others of Arcranium. We are scheduled to do a TNTD set in their book sometime next year. A reminder that Ain't No Messiah is free this weekend on Kindle Unlimited. Grab it at this link: https://geni.us/AintNoMessiah The audiobook is on sale for $2.99 until the end of the month. I read a death scene and a chapter from Try Not to Die: At Dethfest

She shares; + Her own personal story and being sick when it wasn't ok to have COVID + How her being transparent about being sick put her in a position where others started coming to her for support simply because they knew nobody else who had it + Why she ended up seeing so many patients for support and recovery + The difference between COVID and long COVID + What puts people at risk of becoming a long hauler + How we can borrow from history to help us navigate the virus and find comfort and education in this + The 5 different factors to consider in tailoring a treatment plan for long haulers + Other factors which impact recovery (nutrition, movement etc) And more! Well *cough* here it is. COVID is pretty relevant right now - our friends, family, coworkers, loved ones, and us are all starting to get it. Jase and I are just a couple of mates (not doctors, politicians, or Dr Ashley Bloomfield). The purpose of the poddy is to shed some light on what it's like having COVID. From finding out you have it, testing and symptoms, dealing with it, isolating, keeping busy, and managing work, uni, training - this yarn should help give you an idea. Whether you've had it, know someone who has, or are about to get it yourself - we recommend you give it a listen to take away from of the guesswork. As someone who has yet to experience the 'pleasure', this chat really helped me get to know more and feel better about it. If ya sick get tested - take care of ya self!! Enjoy---

Hi! I'm Rachelle Mone't I was born and raised in NY, and I currently live in NC. I have been writing poetry since age 11 when my 5th grade teacher challenged us to write a Haiku! Ever since then I realized that writing poetry was something that I really loved Throughout my life poetry has served as one of the outlets for me to express my feelings and sort out the matters of the heart. I never thought I would be writing songs, but here I am by God's grace! In March of 2020, I dreamed of a beautiful song. Just like the times prior, when I awoke from the dream, I didn't remember the song. Only this time, I prayed and asked God to help me to remember. That afternoon I took a nap and dreamed of the song again. For the first time when I woke up, I remembered the song! This is when I believe my gift of songwriting was birthed. Shortly after, I became very sick. The doctors began testing me for end stage cancer. I was rapidly losing weight and in a lot of pain. In the midst of testing for cancer. I got Covid. Having Covid was one of the worst experiences of my life. I thank God, He healed me of Covid! Also, my final test (a biopsy) came back negative for cancer. Glory to God! A few weeks later I began writing songs. “A kiss on Angel wings “will be my first song released. I wrote this song about my dad who is in heaven. The song comes from a poem that I wrote in honor of my dad on Father's Day a few years ago. The poem is also titled “A kiss on Angel Wings” and it is in my recently published book titled “Move Forward “Collection of Poems. A big thank you to Claire Virginia for her beautiful vocals and my wonderful producer Able Nyamekeye of Krystal Recording Studio for collaborating with me on this project! Insta: @rachellemonetmusic

Nothing has us feeling more negative than a positive COVID test. When the emphasis for so long has been on what individuals need to do, it can feel like a personal failure when you see a positive test result but on this week's episode, Nadine and Tarini break down why that isn't true. Having COVID is hard enough, don't be harder on yourself! The complete mismanagement of the pandemic by global leaders (and you know how much Tarini and Nadine love ~global affairs~) has taken form in many ways but primarily in leaving us all vulnerable. From vaccine hoarding to prioritizing corporations, the world has lost the plot on the pandemic and unfortunately, we have to pay the price. New year, same Nadine and Tarini, starting off 2022 with an episode about the pandemic (you know what the say about old habits) - streaming on all major platforms, on YouTube @ You Know What I Mean? In this episode, we bring two experts in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB-GYN) to discuss everything you need to know about infertility in men and women. Dr. Temitope Ekwo and Dr. Nicole Plenty will be shedding more light on what infertility truly is, the prevalence, risk factors with more focus on fibroids, as well as medical advice on taking the Covid-19 vaccine while pregnant. We will also address some myths and facts that are common in our community and action steps that can be taken by our community to support those experiencing infertility. There is so much to unpack in this episode, and I truly hope that you learn from it and put a lot of the lessons into practice. MEET OUR GUESTS Dr. Temitope Ekwo is a board-certified OB/GYN who was born and raised in Providence, RI where she lived until moving to Washington D.C after high school. She frequently participates in activities within the community to increase patient awareness and education regarding woman's health issues. Dr. Ekwo is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as a member of the Association of Nigerian Physicians and Texas Medical Association. Her clinical interests include adolescent and teen gynecology, high-risk obstetrics, minimally invasive procedures, outpatient surgeries, contraception, pelvic pain, menopause, health maintenance, and general gynecology. Dr. Ekwo and her staff take pride in providing extraordinary care to their patients during all stages of a woman's life. Dr. Nicole Plenty is a double board-certified OB/GYN and Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist, blogger, public speaker, and patient advocate. After experiencing a difficult pregnancy herself, to increase her advocacy efforts, she launched Pregnancy Pearls with Dr. Plenty, a vlog and podcast she created to help patients advocate for themselves by providing pre-/post-conception advice and education regarding complications of pregnancy. She has received local, state, and national honors for her involvement in health policy, mentorship, and work in health advocacy. Among those, she has received Top 40 under 40 recognitions from the National Minority Quality Forum, the National Medical Association, the Indianapolis Business Journal, as well as her alma mater, Xavier University of LA. Things you will learn in this episode: [00:01 – 04:42] Introduction Introducing the guest and sharing a brief background on the topic. [04:42 – 19:32] Understanding Infertility & Its Causes Understanding fertility in Men & Women Some common causes of infertility How mental health can affect fertility in marriage Why you need to 'relax' [19:32 – 42:10] Myths, Misconceptions & Fibroids The effect of aging on infertility in men & women Fibroids and its related issues with infertility in women Are there ways to manage Fibroids? Why African Women are hesitant when it comes to surgery Secondary infertility and its issues How to support couples facing infertility [42:10 – 54:30] Covid-19 Vaccine & Pregnancy Education on the Covid-19 vaccine & pregnancy Some myths and conspiracies about the vaccine How covid is affecting unvaccinated pregnant women Read & listen to experts for advice [54:30 – 1:01:31] Remedies & Therapeutic Measures for Infertility Consultation & medication Don't be anxious and nervous Seek knowledge & find options [1:01:31] – 1:07:44] Final Discussions Advising the community on how to be supportive Anyoh shares her last words How to connect with the guests Tweetable Quotes: “Stay out of women's uteri! Don't ask them when they're going to get pregnant. Don't ask them why they haven't gotten pregnant don't ask them when they're having another child! Just mind your business!” – Dr. Temitope Ekwo [on how the community can stay supportive towards women dealing with infertility] “Everybody always points a finger at the woman when men make up 48% of the cases of infertility. So, the infertility rates for men and women are almost about the same. I have seen people not be pregnant for years on end and then all of a sudden they do a work up and lo and behold the man has a low sperm count but never wanted to do a sperm sample” – Dr. Nicole Plenty “Secondary infertility is a real thing. People think that if they have one baby that means they are fertile and so they have all the time in the world. But we as women have all the eggs that we are born with and over time, our fertility rate gradually decreases because we lose an egg every time we ovulate. Men are also not off the hook here. As they age, their quality of sperm also decreases.” – Dr. Nicole Plenty “The amount of miscarriages and stillbirths that I have seen [in pregnant COVID-19 patients] since this pandemic has started is more than the amount I have seen in my 10 years of practicing, but people don't want to talk about that. Having COVID-19 while pregnant is a prenatal complication.” – Dr. Temitope Ekwo LEAVE A REVIEW and tell us what you think about the episode so we can continue putting out the best content just for you!
