Frodan got his start in StarCraft 2 after being given a chance to cast NASL on short notice. While it meant not finishing university, Frodan decided to take a risk and become a commentator. It wasn't exactly clear sailing from there, but eventually he landed on his feet as a premiere commentator, host, and Twitch community manager.Find the video version here -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9Zai-tCan0Consider supporting the podcast on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/zombiegrubSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/zombiegrub)

We are joined this week by TigheFighterX1, Brmibe, and one half of your Walt Wednesday team Jazz0ejo. How are you all doing this evening? Quickly tell us about your channels/role in the community.Streaming News 1. Greed gets the best of streamerhttps://www.dexerto.com/entertainment/twitch-streamer-lashes-out-at-viewers-for-not-subscribing-to-her-channel-1315470 Popular Twitch streamer BadBunny has hit out at viewers who spend hours watching her content without subscribing, claiming that people "don't respect" her as a content creator. While broadcasting on January 18 though, BadBunny explained to her chat that she needed monetary support to continue creating content on Twitch, and when her viewers didn't respond with an influx of subscriptions, the streamer lashed out at them, fuming that they watch hours of content for free without paying for it. "There are regulars here. $5 a month! How do you have hours of time to watch me, and not $5? What are you doing with your life where you have hours of time to watch Twitch, and not $5 to provide for the content that you're watching." How do You feel about streamers begging for money?2. Mixer announces that annoying 24/7 spark farms and 'follow for follow' streams are going bye byehttp://www.windowscentral.com/mixer-announces-annoying-247-spam-follow-follow-streams-are-going-byebye A big sore point has long been 24/7 streams, where a user just sets their stream on some radio station and goes AFK, billing themselves as a "spark farm," Mixer's currency for viewing streams. There's also been a rise of "follow for follow" spammers, who aren't actually actively streaming. Some of these streams end up trending on the front page, taking precious space away from legitimate streamers on a platform that isn't exactly awash with viewers. Clip upgrades will let you trim your clips more accurately, all the way down to 5 seconds. Previously, Mixer's clipping tool was a little less flexible. The Mixer app on Xbox will offer an option to go back to the previous chat method, with a sidebar, rather than a chat overlay on top of the video. It's in testing now, with a planned February roll out.Starting next week, Mixer will no longer allow 24/7 spark farms nor follow for follow streams, where there's nobody actually streaming. Mixer is nailing down the fine print over how this works, but this shouldn't impact legitimate 24/7 channels such as music stations and animal cams and such, on a "case by case" basis. Mixer will also include a 24/7 stream category in the future, for legitimate 24/7 streams and creative projects, and will include an appeal process in case someone is banned unfairly or wants to change their streaming model.Mixer says it will try to action these sorts of policy changes more rapidly in the future.Mixer also teased new auto-hosting features for the future. How do you feel about follow for follow itself and what are your thoughts on the changes coming?3. Twitch streamer's attempt at a “fart mic” ends in a messhttp://www.dexerto.com/entertainment/twitch-streamer-fart-mic-skit-mess-live-1315423 Just Chatting streamer ‘AmericanDad' looked to pull off his “first ever fart mic” on broadcast, but his attempt at the joke failed miserably, with the streamer getting more than he bargained for. “Guys I'm feeling the fart mic tonight. Did the fart mic emote get approved? No it didn't. Okay, chat, fart mic. First every fart mic. Here it is.” With the microphone up right against his crotch, instead of a clean puff of air, a sound more akin to a wet mess came out. AmericanDad knew what happened, his viewers heard it, and there was only one way to explain himself out of it. He went brb and came back and explained to his chat that he had pooped his pants. His chat had a great time and he declared no more fart mic for the night. 4. Youtube snipes Big Esport gainshttps://www.wired.com/story/activision-esports-leagues-youtube-exclusive/ YouTube announced that it will exclusively stream three behemoth esports leagues—the Call of Duty League, the Overwatch League, and Hearthstone Esports, all controlled by Activision Blizzard—that had lived primarily on the game streaming platform Twitch. In an interview with WIRED, head of YouTube Gaming Ryan Wyatt said that Google, which owns YouTube, and Activision have been in talks over esports media rights since last year. “It's a long time coming,” he said StreamElements CEO Doron Nir agreed in a roundabout way: “Esports tournaments have two types of viewership: Live and VOD post game. Since most of VOD happens on YouTube already, I expect the move to YouTube for live viewership will have no negative impact on the views. If YouTube promotes it properly, it might even get more viewership.” How do you think this will affect youtube gaming going forward as well as Twitch?Gaming News5. Final Fantasy 7 PSA https://comicbook.com/gaming/2020/01/25/final-fantasy-7-pre-orders-square-enix/ If you're still set on getting Final Fantasy VII in April and have the game pre-ordered already, you might need to check the status of your order to make sure you don't lose it. Square Enix said this week that, because of the delay that pushed the game's release date out of March and into April, people who pre-ordered it need to opt into keeping their pre-order or else it'll be cancelled. Square Enix shared the latest update on the game and its pre-orders through the Final Fantasy VII Twitter account. The need to opt into the pre-orders people have already secured only applies to people in the United States who bought the game through the Square Enix Store, but if that applies to you, you'll need to take action before February 28th. This probably won't apply to most people purchasing the game but an important psa nonetheless. What do you make of this sort of bizarre pre order process? Are you excited/ will you be playing the game?6. Rocket League supporthttps://comicbook.com/gaming/2020/01/25/rocket-league-psyonix-support-macos-linux/ Psyonix is ending its support for Rocket League on the macOS and Linux platforms within the next few months, the developer announced this week. That means that most people will still be able to play the game uninterrupted, but if you're on one of those two platforms. Psyonix said it was “no longer viable” to maintain support for those platforms since it's continually upgrading Rocket League with new tech. A final update for macOS and Linux in March will disable online functionality but would leave offline features intact. To accommodate players who bought the game on one of those two platforms and wanted their money back, Psyonix said it worked out a deal with Valve to offer refunds outside of Valve's typical refund policy. The plan didn't work as intended at first as refunds were being rejected, but Psyonix said that should be resolved now and that players can successfully request a refund through Steam's support site. What do you think about the developer ending support and do any of you play on these op sys? Chat what about you?7. GTA 6 infohttps://www.ccn.com/rockstars-grand-theft-auto-vi-leak-should-make-xbox-fans-very-happy/ A new Tax Watch UK report into Rockstar Games' finances reveals just how much money the developer has been getting from tax breaks. In 2019, the company claimed £37.6m in Video Games Tax Relief (VGTR). The report said that this claim is likely to help fund the development of Grand Theft Auto 6. If the tax breaks are to fund the development of GTA 6, Xbox fans should be very happy. Rockstar's use of tax relief may mean that it doesn't need any more money from exclusivity deals. What do you make of this rumor? Entertainment News8. Twisted Metal TVhttps://comicbook.com/gaming/2019/05/21/twisted-metal-tv-series-sony-playstation-productions/ Sony recently announced that it planned on adapting some of its many video game series into movie and TV show formats, and it appears the first of those has already been revealed. The first news of the supposed Twisted Metal TV series came from a user on ResetEra who said the project had been revealed by Sony Pictures' CEO and chairman Tony Vinciquerra. The executive reportedly told those present at the meeting during the Q&A segment that production has already begun on the series. Were you a fan of this series and how do you feel about Sony getting in the entertainment game with their Playstation Productions division?9. RIP Mr Peanuthttps://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/mr-peanuts-death-rattles-the-internet-always-classy-always-crunchy-194140518.html Mr. Peanut, the name of Planters' longtime mascot, has been trending on social media this week after the peanut brand announced his death following a car accident alongside his celebrity friends, Wesley Snipes and Matt Walsh. What the character's “death” will actually mean is yet to be seen — but it's all part of the Super Bowl advertising blitz that invades American TV sets every year about this time. Planters has teased that his funeral will take place during the third quarter of Super Bowl LIV, the Feb. 2 showdown between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs in Miami. Social media fans had fun, um, roasting the iconic character. For instance, another brand mascot, Mr. Clean, remembered him as, “Always classy, always crunchy, always cleaned up nicely.” How do you feel about the death of this icon and will you be tuning in for the funeral?10. Obi Wan Update http://nerdist.com/article/ewan-mcgregor-obi-wan-kenobi-disney-plus-update-star-wars/ Rumors about the fate of the Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi series are less dire than originally reported, according to Obi-Wan Kenobi himself, Ewan McGregor. Rumors swirled that the show had been cancelled or delayed because bad scripting and a rejection by Lucasfilm Yeah, we just pushed the shoot to the beginning of next year,” McGregor revealed. “The scripts are really good. I saw 90% of the writing. There was all this bullshit about [there] being creative differences and all that stuff. None of it true; they just pushed the dates.” He also made another mention of the scripts saying the delay will give them time to make them better. Do you buy what he is saying here or is he acting as PR for them on the issue?

Blizzard Entertainment has banned professional Hearthstone eSports players and casters to protect their business interests in China. Blizzard has since canceled the Overwatch launch event in New York in anticipation of fan protests. Blizzard Entertainment announced that BlizzCon 2019 would be held on November 1 and 2 at the Anaheim Convention Center, with tickets being available to purchase from AXS.com on May 4 and 8. In lieu of the traditional "goodie bag", convention attendees will be able to choose between an orc grunt or human footman statue to commemorate 25 years of Warcraft. The price for admission was raised to $229 with a "Portal Pass" option being available for $550. This new Portal Pass offers several perks, such as early access to the Darkmoon Faire, access to an exclusive lounge with its own concessions and the opportunity to meet Blizzard employees and esports pros, separate registration lanes, separate security lanes, and early access to the convention center. BlizzCon is an annual gaming convention held by Blizzard Entertainment to promote its major franchises including Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm and Overwatch. The first BlizzCon was held in October 2005 and since then all of conventions have been held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, in the same metropolitan area as Blizzard's headquarters in Irvine. The convention features game-related announcements, previews of upcoming Blizzard Entertainment games and content, Q&A sessions and panels, costume contests and playable versions of various Blizzard games. The closing night has featured concerts by The Offspring, Tenacious D, Foo Fighters, Ozzy Osbourne, Blink-182, Metallica, Linkin Park, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and Muse. A similar event was the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational, held outside the U.S. from 2004–2008. Tickets for the BlizzCon events in 2005, 2007 and 2008 were US$100 for admission to both days of activities. In 2009, the price was raised to $125. For 2010, the price was raised to $150. For 2011, the price was raised to $175 and for 2013 the price remained at $175.[2] For 2014, the price was raised to $199 and the BlizzCon Benefit Dinner went from $500 to $750, which includes admission. From 2015 to 2018, the prices have remained at the 2014 level. The ticket price includes a goody bag that contains items such as in-game prizes, beta keys for upcoming Blizzard games and exclusive Blizzard paraphernalia. BlizzCon was not held in 2006 or 2012 About Digital Drop Podcast... Digital Drop Podcast is the #1 podcast for gaming creators, live streamers and YouTubers.
