In this fun episode of Drinks and a Movie, I welcomes special guests Jerry Lourenco and Rich Mallery from the Horror Heads podcast to sip, savor, and slash their way through a double shot of whiskey and horror. We kick things off by tasting Nelson's Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey followed by Maker's Mark “Heart Release” 2024, —two very different expressions with rich histories and bold profiles. Expect tasting notes, barrel talk, and a little whiskey-fueled banter. Then, we dive deep into the eerie atmosphere of the underrated 70s slasher gem "Alice, Sweet Alice" (1976). From religious overtones and masked terror to Brooke Shields' early role, we explore why this cult classic still sends chills decades later. Whether you're a whiskey lover, horror film fanatic, or both, this episode brings the perfect blend of bold spirits and bloody cinema.Follow Horror Heads Podcast HereFollow Drinks and a Movie Podcasts socials Here

Hello, Horror Heads! This week on TRAPPO, we're trying something a little different. Ky decided out of the blue that he wanted to test Dustin's horror movie knowledge with a physical quiz he acquired somehow, so now it's an official episode of the show that talks about stuff on purpose, and that's all there is to it. So how well does Dustin do? And how much tangential rambling in between questions will there be?You'll have to listen to find out! Here's a cool idea, dear listener! Why don't you play along? Grab a pencil & paper and keep score, then when the quiz is over head on over to the official TRAPPO blog (CLICK HERE) and leave us a comment telling us how you fared. We'd love to know your scores. While you're there on the blog sharing your own scores, tell us other things. Do you like this whole quiz thing? Would you like us to try this out again sometime? Maybe you'd like to tell us how much you hate this particular episode and that we should never try this again. That's perfectly fine. Just tell us some stuff! And if you'd like to tell us more stuff than can be contained by the confines of a blog comment, you are in luck! There's this new thing we call email, perhaps you've heard of it? You can send us an email. You can send us several emails. Tell us a whole bunch of stuff in emails, friends. CLICK RIGHT HERE to do that, if it's the kind of thing you're into. Do you like social media? We don't! But we're out there, trying our best to convince strangers that our show is actually worth their valuable time! You can follow us there on social media if you want. CLICK HERE to visit us on Instagram, which we update regularly, or CLICK HERE to find us on Threads, where we hang out all the time and actually engage with others. So basically just come on down to Threads and chill with the TRAPS. That's where all the cool kids are, after all. Thanks for listening! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/trappo/message

The House of Horror boys are bringing you all a special episode this week as we talk over the remake/reboot of Friday the 13th from the year of our lord 2009. We mentioned some audio issues that needed to be addressed in our previous episode that had to be fixed but we still wanted to give you Horror Heads something to listen to in the meantime. With those issues seemingly fixed we will be returning to our regular episode format next week so thanks everyone for hanging in there! Happy 4th Horror Heads! We are kicking off July with probably the best movie we have ever covered? We are doing the 1975 absolute classic, Jaws! We have paul and we have been drinking for 8 hours so TRY to enjoy!
The final episode of the year is covering a film that features one of Horror Heads favorites, Sylvester Stallone. The movie is Nighthawks, and this particular episode just seems to be a perfect endcap to the year that will forever be known as 2020.
Welcome back, Horror Heads! In this Halloween edition of The Nightmare Feed, Reed and Joe are joined by writer/director Erik Kristopher Myers. In this episode they discuss some of their favorite horror movies to watch around Halloween ranging from American Werewolf in London to Suspiria.Make sure to also check out the movies by Erik Kristopher Myers - Butterfly Kisses and Roulette.Happy Halloween!
This episode marks the six year anniversary of Horror Heads. To keep with tradition the guys are talking about the next Halloween sequel in the franchise, but with a little twist, Halloween 6: The Producer's Cut.
Welcome back Horror Heads! In this week's episode Reed and Joe square off on who is the better Final Girl - Sidney Prescott or Laurie Strode. They talk about who has the better story, who is a part of the better franchise, who has the best story development, who would win in a fight and what would happen if the roles were reversed. So join them and voice your opinion on who was the best Final Girl!!
This week on the Nightmare Feed we wanted to focus on a specific subset of slashers, that don't even necessarily have to be horror, but even suspense and thriller. While we won't be delving into any documentary of actual real life serial killers, we may discuss some dramatizations based on the real thing. We're talking psychos! Psychos, serial killers, and mass murderers arguably have just as big a fan-base as horror, that in many ways shares the same space. And yes, most fans of the subset are even Horror Heads.
This episode is for the fans. This one is about the movies that turned us into horror heads. This is the episode where we make you feel nostalgic about why you grew to love horror. And to do that, we here at The Nightmare Feed are going to talk about how we became super horror fans. And with any luck, this week will include an interview with Erik Kristopher Myers, director of the indie horror movie, Butterfly Kisses (2018)
‘80s horror was great, but could it have been better? Let's talk about what iconic franchises like Friday the 13th, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Child's Play did right, and where they went so very wrong. Trigger warning!: implying nostalgic stuff isn't perfect! 2019 was a year like no other so far for us at Horror Heads. The guys had 18 episodes through out the year that covered topics from 2019. This episode they reflect back over those 18 episodes, and pick out some low points, and high points from the year.
This episode marks the annual Halloween (the franchise) episode. This year's movie is Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, which can only mean that we're also celebrating 5 years here at Horror Heads.
This episode is a updated version of the second episode of Horror Heads. Some of the earlier episodes were pretty rough. This is an experiment to see how well a re-edited version of some of those early episodes is received. Only the opening to the episode was re-recorded. The rest of the episode is from the original recording back in November of 2014 when the guys sunk their teeth into Fright Night.
In true Horror Heads fashion, this episode Mark and Shanon spend 90% of the episode talking about anything but the movie they are supposed to be talking about. But, they do spend a good 10% talking about The Burbs.
This episode the guys talk about the 2019 version of Pet Sematary. With this episode coming out right after the movie was released it's safe to say SPOILER. Do not listen to this episode if you don't want to hear any SPOILERS. This episode does end in a Horror Heads first as well. No spoiler on what that is though.
This episode we are diving into a Canadian Comedy Horror, Camp Death III in 2D. The tagline for the film is 'The most terrible good movie you'll ever see!'. Here at Horror Heads we couldn't agree more. This movie is a wild ride of comedic spoofs. You have to see it for yourself to really appreciate it. No spoilers this episode.
Here at Horror Heads we have been talking about the newest entry in the Halloween saga for the past year. Well it's finally here. Yes we know we are a few weeks late with the episode. But, we've packed so much content into it that we've broken it up into two parts. This week it's part one of Halloween (2018). Enjoy!
This year you guys are getting a double dose of Halloween movie episodes. The first up is Halloween 4. Mark and Shanon dive into all what's right, and what's wrong with this movie. Help us celebrate the 30th anniversary of this film, as well as the fourth anniversary of Horror Heads.
This episode, we are doing a little bit of "Fall Cleaning" with an wide array of films that have been sitting on the shelf for us for too long. We have a HUGE October coming up, so I want to clean out our backlog before the month starts. On this episode, we are going to be visiting the "Puppet Master" hotel for the latest chapter of the series, "The Littlest Reich". This may be the most fun film in the entire franchise. "The Babysitter" on Netflix was the latest film to distract Jess, and keep her up late watching instead of working on homework. "Kill List" was one that deserved a huge mention, but just hasn't fit into an episode. Happy to include it here. "Society and The Wraith"- was a fun as hell Midnight Mutant type double feature that I'm happy to finally share with everyone. Both are on Shudder, and are surprising. Especially Society. OMFG. "Stepfather"- is a visit to classic 80's camp with Terry O Quinn as our guide. It's on Amazon, and is required viewing. Slice- New Release from A24 that was part of a double feature...maybe the weaker part. Strange Nature- A New Eco-Horror film coming this week to theaters that is a good one for the left leaning Horror Heads to check out. High Tension- Jess and I pay off our Wheel assignment with High Tension, which may have started out way stronger than it finished. Trigger warning for fans of this film: we may not have liked it very much, maybe not at all.
Horror Heads, sometimes there comes a movie so fucking terrible you have to share it with everyone you've ever met. That movie is Iced.
Horror Heads it is finally here. The end of the Friday the 13th Serial Killer series. This week we will look at Jason X, Freddy vs Jason and Friday the 13th Reboot from 2009.
It has been a few months since Solo was released. But, never the less, the Horror Heads episode about it is finally here. This episode is full of opinions, but don't let that sway you away from listening. They are on both sides of the fence.
Welcome back Horror Heads and thank you as always for downloading and supporting the show. The next two weeks Joe and Sean look at disgusting blob humanoids when they watch TerrorVision and Basket Case 2. TerrorVision is a banana look at the 80's... in the 80's and it didn't disappoint!
This weeks episode is another 'behind the scenes' Horror Heads. This was the conversation that took place before the Prom Night episode was recorded. As you have heard from other episodes like this one, the guys really do talk about the topics they cover on the show all the time in real life. This episode features Svengoolie, which type of Horror Heads episodes tend to draw the most listeners, Friday the 13th on Blu-Ray, VHS tapes, those feel good movies of the late 80s/early 90s, and of course it wouldn't be a Horror Heads episode without a little Halloween conversation.
SPOILERS!!! The Last Jedi is finally out and Mark and Shanon didn't waste anytime getting an episode together to discuss it. SPOILERS!!! They touch on the highs and lows of the film. SPOILERS!!! They share their thoughts on how they would like to see this trilogy end. SPOILERS!!! As with most of the Horror Heads episodes, if you haven't seen the flick yet then you might want to avoid this episode. SPOILERS!!!
There are times when you finish recording an episode and you think to yourself 'man that was a pile of crap episode'. Then you start editing it and realize it was a great episode. That actually doesn't happen to us here at Horror Heads. All our episodes are great, and we never doubt it for a moment. Including this one. We focus on the classic, fat, lasagna loving, cat's Halloween special. We also get a little side tracked by Bozo and trick or treating. Enjoy!
Welcome back Horror Heads. This week we take a look at the 80's slasher that loves sitcom music, breaking the rules of horror, and the most insane gore of all time. It's THE MUTILATOR!
The guys have their second Horror Heads outing in as many months. This time they went to see the new IT movie. Don't worry they episode isn't full of spoilers surprisingly. They guys spend a little bit of time discussing the book and the 1990 mini-series, but spend most of the episode taking about the new movie.
Horror Heads, Joe and Sean are on a dangerous and exciting adventure into the year 2016 as they look at a recent movie that actually received a theatrical release. This week they discuss Don't Breathe!
Welcome back Horror Heads. Thank you so much for joining us again. This week we have another THS certified CLASSIC. Bad Taste. Peter Jackson's first attempt at a feature film is exactly what Joe and Sean were looking for in the Summer of Splatter.
Welcome back Horror Heads. This week we take a 40 year tour and check out 2002's Ghost Ship. A movie people... LOVE?! Yes, yes they do. We don't... but people do. This movie is more confusion then ghost but join us as we try and make sense out of ANYTHING that happened in this.
Welcome back Horror Heads. This week we are diving into a more recent movie as we discuss the 2007 independent low-budget flick Murder Party. Murder Party is a pretty good movie, which means we don't have much to say, which means you get to hear tales from our personal lives and pasts. So... enjoy!
It's taken the guys a bit of a time to get to this milestone episode. Longer than some, and not as long as others. But, they made it. To celebrate they start off just chatting about the journey to the 100th episode. They go back and forth about some of their favorite, and not so favorite, topics. Of course it wouldn't be a Horror Heads episode if they didn't get side tracked from time to time.
Welcome back Horror Heads! We're celebrating our love for the classic TV show Monstervision again this year with couple of movies. This week we watch the 1988 cult classic Waxwork which really encapsulated the feeling of watching Monstervision as a kid for us.
Thanks for downloading Horror Heads. We're nearing the end of our journey through the Nightmare On Elm Street Franchise, and this week we are closing out what we consider to be the core Freddy story. We are discussing Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare and New Nightmare. I don't know if there are two movies in any franchise that are so dramatically juxtaposed. Thank you all so much for downloading! Next week we will wrap up the series with Freddy vs. Jason and Nightmare on Elm Street (2010).
Welcome back Horror Heads! This week Serial Killer returns. A series that explores a specific topic or person in the world of horror by watching every movie in that world. This year we've decided to explore the prolific world of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. In our first episode we look at the birth of Freddy Kreuger as we watch parts 1 through 3. We will be doing 3 episodes this year and our next episode will cover movies 4 through 6 and our final episode covering New Nightmare, Freddy vs. Jason, and the Nightmare on Elm Street remake.
Welcome back Horror Heads! This week we enter the People's Court and discuss The Town That Dreaded Sundown from 1976. The hosts talk about Bag Head's antics and the rest of the most boring movie EVER made.
Hello again Horror Heads. Trovember returns in spirit as we return with one of our most popular recomendations, LUTHER THE GEEK. It's the story about a man who eats chickens... or is a chicken? Protects chickens? Not really sure and it certainly doesn't matter. We also talk about Warner Herzog's greatest fear... which only Paul cares about. Enjoy! Facebook: Patreon: T-Shirts:
Welcome back Horror Heads! We leave Halloween behind us but that doesn't mean the nightmare is over! Up next is Gingerdead Man 2: The Passion of the Crust! Boy this was terrible but we persevere and even do a listener mailbag! So enjoy and thank you as always for supporting the show! Facebook: Patreon: T-Shirts:
Welcome back Horror Heads! It's been a minute but were back with another... gem. This week we are discussing Howling II: Your Sister Is a Werewolf from 1985. This thing belongs in the dumpster, yet somehow Christopher Lee is in it. Weird. We are running an Instagram contest this week so make sure to check that out and Joe will be launching a contest on Letterboxd in October! Facebook: Patreon: T-Shirts:
Welcome back Horror Heads. The air is getting a little chillier, the days are getting shorter and what signifies the spookiest season of the year better than a movie about incest and domestic abuse... oh and I guess there's a demon in it too. This week we're talking about Amityville II: The Possession and boy was it something. Just a reminder we will be at Connecticut Cult Classics this coming Saturday the 17th. Find more info at ConnecticutCultClassics.com Facebook: Patreon: T-Shirts:
Thanks for downloading Horror Heads. This week we're heading up to the great white north with baby Stephen Dorff for the 80's childhood classic The Gate! This was one of our most requested episodes so we were really happy to get to do this. So if you enjoy little mutant monster dogs that form together like Voltron to create a large dead human. THIS IS THE MOVIE FOR YOU! Facebook: Patreon: T-Shirts:
Welcome back Horror Heads and thank you for downloading! This week we are talking about the Larry Drake lead Dr. Giggles from 1992. What did Joe and Sean think about this gory mess? Did Dr. Giggles TICKLE the hosts or was this flick Dead on Arrival. Listen I never said I could craft a pun like the writers of Dr. Giggles. This was chosen by one of Patreon subscribers Aimee! If you want to choose an upcoming episode subscribe on Patreon and follow the directions there! Facebook: Patreon: T-Shirts:
Welcome back Horror Heads, we're a little late kicking off summer but that's where we are... SO DEAL WITH IT! This week we start celebrating summer with the hidden/not so hidden gem The Burning. The 80's summer clamp slasher that doesn't get the credit it deserves. This is the first good movie we've talked about in months so ENJOY! Facebook: Patreon: T-Shirts:
Thank you for downloading Horror Heads. First just a heads up that we had to do some last minute changes to our recording schedule so there are some weird technical issues with this episode. I hope that they will be corrected next week. Sorry! In the meantime we continue on investigating the best and worst part 3's. We tried to make this episode mostly the BEST but as it turns out... THERES A LOT OF BAD PART 3's! We also read some more viewer lists! Facebook: Patreon: T-Shirts:
Thank you for downloading Horror Heads! This week we decided to watch a movie we always thought was a classic, but guess what? IT'S NOT! We watch the 1984 movie about little monsters that somehow hide in plain sight and a guy that takes up satanism and the occult on whim. The movie makes no sense and you know when that happens it always makes for a great show! Facebook: Patreon: T-Shirts:
Thank you for downloading Horror Heads! This week we wrap up our Monstervision Tribute by discussing the Joe Bob Nair Witch Project episode of Monstervision that featured both Phantasm I and II. Just a warning while the majority of this episode is dedicated to Phantasm II we also discuss the first Phantasm. We talk about the weird love/hate relationship we have with this series and end with the Drive-In Totals Game and a final tribute to Joe Bob and Monstervision! Facebook: Patreon: T-Shirts:
Thank you for downloading Horror Heads. Our Monstervision Tribute rolls on. This week Joe Bob introduces us the killer rabbit classic, Night of the Lepus. Thanks for downloading Horror Heads. Hey, great news. WE AREN'T TALKING ABOUT LEPRECHAUN! Hey, bad news. WE'RE TALKING ABOUT RUMPELSTILTSKIN. This movie was one of Sean's favorites growing up. Can he dig deep enough to try and figure out why? Or will this be another childhood memory absolutely demolished by viewing the movie as a normal adult with a brain. Listen to find out!
Thanks for downloading Horror Heads! We continue to fight the good fight and finally wrap up talking about the Leprechaun franchise. In this episode Joe, Sean, and Paul discuss Leprechaun In The Hood as well as Leprechaun: Back 2 Tha Hood. Woof!
