When the most wanted man in America surfaces in a small Kentucky town, his violent history ― and a bloodthirsty mob seeking vengeance and a king's ransom ― soon follow. As brothers face off against one another and bullets tear the town to shreds, this lightning-fast gunslinger makes his enemies pay the ultimate price for their greed. Academy Award® winner Nicolas Cage, Stephen Dorff, and Heather Graham star in this action-packed Western-thriller about true justice in the Wild West. DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT - BRIAN SKIBA The Western genre has always carried a timeless allure—tales of justice, revenge, and survival in the face of lawlessness. With Gunslingers, I wanted to create a film that not only honors the great Westerns that came before but also brings something fresh and bold to the table. This film is about outlaws, redemption, and the harsh reality of a world where the line between good and evil is razor-thin. Bringing Gunslingers to life has been a journey of passion and perseverance, a two-year odyssey filled with challenges and triumphs. At its core, this is a story about a wanted man who stumbles upon a hidden town—a sanctuary for criminals—only to realize that salvation comes at a cost. When a relentless posse arrives to collect on the town's entire population, the stage is set for an explosive battle where survival is the only currency that matters. With an extraordinary cast led by Stephen Dorff, Heather Graham, and Nicolas Cage, we've crafted a world that feels gritty, raw, and authentically Western. Their performances bring depth and intensity to the story, breathing life into characters who exist in a world where justice is often a matter of who draws first. None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of Grindstone executive Barry Brooker and my producing partner/star, Laurie Love, whose dedication helped shape this film into what it is today. Gunslingers is more than just a Western—it's a film about the choices we make when the odds are against us. It's a tribute to the spirit of those who refuse to back down, who fight for their survival, no matter the cost. For fans of the genre, this is a must-watch, and I can't wait for audiences to experience the world we've built.   Stay connected with me here.

I had the pleasure and honor to sit down with the awesome and talented Sam Coleman who you all know as Wyllis from Game of Thrones, but we didn't speak about that at all during this interview. Sorry.I wanted to get to know him and his character ‘Bud'from the movie Leatherface, his aspect from the movie and knowing what it was like to film such a great movie. As I mentioned, I love origin stories. Especially origin stories about horror icons; how did it all start and who is the killer.Sam was able to tell us all of that and he mentioned that he had a lot of fun playing his part alongside Stephen Dorff and Lili Taylor. He described how cold it was filing in Bulgaria and how they had to make it look like a hot summer in Texas. Hollywood magic is what I would describe… But you cannot have that magic without the cast and crew.Am I a little disappointed that Bud didn't turn out to be Leatherface? Of course I am – but it was the director's intention to trick the audience into believing that. I tip my hat to you, Sir. Well done…Overall, Sam is a phenomenal and talented actor. I am 100% positive that no matter what career he chooses to pursue, there will be no doubt that he will excel. Great guest and I recommend him to be a guest on anypodcast.

In trying to blend these two plots, the film is highly convoluted and dilutes the performance of the star of the film, Stephen Dorff. We talk about why Wesley Snipes was such an inspired choice to play the character and how he made it his own. On the other hand, the hero is only as good as the villain they go up against, and Stephen Dorff absolutely eats as Blade's adversary Deacon Frost. Wouldn't it have been great to keep Deacon around for a some sequels and buck the comic book movie trend of killing of the bad guy? Plus, we talk the Blade/Whistler chemistry, and how this hints at where actions movies will go in just a year when The Matrix hits the screen and goes even further with blending genres. Their wedding theme was “a light nod to the ‘80s,” so there's that, too. Both hail from the Midwest but have called Los Angeles home for several years now. Anna is a writer who received her B.A. in Film/Video from Columbia College Chicago and M.A. in Film Studies from Chapman University. Send us a Text Message. On this 82nd episode of Fabulous Film & Friends we're going to discuss the finer points of being a misunderstood celebrity sequestered in first-rate hostelries  as we discuss three of director Sofia Coppola's notable tales of privileged isolation: 2003's Lost in Translation starring Bill Murray, Scarlett Johannsson, Anna Faris, Fumihiro Hayashi and Giovanni Ribisi along with 2010's Somewhere starring Stephen Dorff, Elle Fanning, Chris Pontius, Ellie Kemper, Michelle Monaghan, and in an uncredited cameo, Alden Ehrenreich topped off with 2023's Priscilla starring Callie Spaeny, Jacob Elordi, Tim Post, Ari Cohe and Mrs. Patrick Wilson herself, Dagmara Dominczyk. I'm joined this week by my favorite panelists who, like Priscilla Presley, can relate to  feelings of being confined in a stultifying dungeon of endless pontification with an insecure and egotistical blowhard, my kid-sister and lit major Roseanne Caputi as well as The King of Reno, actor, photographer and guitarist, Colonel Gordon Alex Robertson! Okay, before we don the blue suede shoes and lock ourselves in our rooms, the synopses:  In Lost in Translation over-the-hill action movie star Bob Harris, in Tokyo to do a photoshoot for a brand of Japanese whiskey, befriends fellow hotel resident Charlotte, a young American woman whose new husband, a photographer, is in town to do a fashion shoot and is never around.  Somewhere tells the story of Johnny Marco, a hard-partying Hollywood action star on the rise, spinning his wheels and recuperating from an injury at Hollywood's famous Chateau Marmont is unexpectantly charged by his ex-wife to spend more time with his daughter Cleo.  And in a show first: I'm going to have Roseanne fact check the Google Log line for a film:  Priscilla- When teenage Priscilla Beaulieu meets Elvis Presley at a party, the man who is already a meteoric rock 'n' roll superstar becomes someone entirely unexpected in private moments: a thrilling crush, an ally in loneliness and a vulnerable best friend.  What would an ace English Teacher and lit major do to correct that synopsis?  Find out!  Follow FF&F on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/fabulousfilmandfriends Watch the Youtube version:https://youtu.be/7vzqRpfYlCU

Welcome to Director Watch! On this AwardsWatch podcast, co-hosts Ryan McQuade and Jay Ledbetter attempt to breakdown, analyze, and ultimately, get inside the mind of some of cinema's greatest auteurs. In doing so, they will look at their filmographies, explore what drives them artistically and what makes their decision making process so fascinating. Add in a few silly tangents and a fun game at the end of the episode and you've got yourself a podcast we truly hope you love. On episode 42 of the Director Watch Podcast, the boys discuss the next film in their Sofia Coppola series, Somewhere (2010). With the underwhelming commercial and critical reaction to Marie Antoinette, Sofia Coppola took a step back in terms of approach and returned to making a smaller, vibes based film set in modern day Los Angeles. By doing this, it was almost a reset for the director, and yet she delivered her most underrated film within her filmography, as she dives into making another personal, profound film about the anxiety of growing up as an adult, and the responsibility it takes to be a parent. Led by an incredible performance by Stephen Dorff and a breakout role for Elle Fanning, Ryan and Jay break down their reaction to the film, Coppola's loose filmmaking for this project, the mundanity found in being a celebrity, how much of Coppola is found in both Dorff or Fanning's character, the meaning behind the film's ending and how it might tie into Lost in Translation, the Fanning Sister's careers, and the appreciation of Chris Pontius as well as a look into the Jackass movies. You can listen to the Director Watch Podcast wherever you stream podcasts, from iTunes, iHeartRadio, Soundcloud, Stitcher, Spotify, Audible, Amazon Music and more. This podcast runs 1h42m. The guys will be back next week with a review of her next film, The Bling Ring. You can stream the film on MAX, as well as rent it via iTunes and Amazon Prime rental in preparation for the next episode of Director Watch. Till then, let's get into it. On this week's show I talked to Rod Blackhurst, the director of the new film Blood for Dust, about … well, a whole bunch of stuff. From his early shorts on the comedy website Funny or Die starring Dave Franco and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, to a documentary about Amanda Knox, to the horror short “Night Swim” (which recently received the feature-length treatment), to his new picture with the great Scoot McNairy and an all-star supporting cast that includes Ethan Suplee, Stephen Dorff, Josh Lucas, and Kit Harrington, we cover his whole career. Blood for Dust hits VOD and has a limited theatrical engagement six days from now, and if you're in the mood for a western neo-noir that deals with people who feel real (and have real-feeling problems), you're not going to want to miss it.
