Attack of the Crab Monsters (1957), Terrorvision (1986), and Uninvited (1988). That's right, folks! It's Turkey Time again, and we are celebrating our 5th episode dedicated to those wonderous missteps in cinematic history. They aimed for the stars, but dropped like frozen turkey chucked off a building! But as we always say, the only bad movie is a boring one. And these films are definitely not boring. Because once the credits roll, if you've been entertained, then how could it be considered bad??? So sit back and enjoy this episode, where we discuss giant telepathic crabs, a ravenous space creature beamed in through a brand-new state-of-the-art satellite dish, and, finally, a story about an experiment gone horribly wrong that leaves a mutant creature living inside a cat that just happens to end up on a luxury yacht with some criminals and college kids. How could that not spell fun? Films mentioned in this episode: A*P*E* (1976), Attack of the Crab Monsters (1957), Better Off Dead (1985), Blood Freak (1972), CarousHELL (2016), Creatures from the Abyss aka Plankton (1984), Creepshow 2 (1987), Death Ship (1980), Dracula vs Frankenstein (1971), Dr. Caligari (1989), Dungeonmaster (1984), Feast (2005), Friday the 13th: The New Blood (1988), Fright Night (1985), Fright Night II (1988), From a Whisper to a Scream (1987), From Beyond (1986), The Giant Claw (1957), Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies!!? Lycanthropy-based athleticism! A wise, well-rested and deeply uninvested coach! A town willing to accept a werewolf if it benefits their local sports team! A stereotypically-threatening 80s boyfriend! The best music a low budget movie can buy! Questionable party games! Breakdancing powers! Pulsating wolf makeup effects! An adult pretending to be a teenager pretending to be an adult in order to buy beer! All that and more in this surprisingly sweet movie that's effectively Spider-Man if he used his powers for popularity instead of crime-fighting!In addition, Tim shares his spoiler-free thoughts on David Twohy's 2002 supernatural submarine thriller, Below, Tony sings the praises of TerrorVision and The Gate, while Alex does the same for Desperado, El Mariachi, and Black Phone 2!You can find Death Don't Do Fiction on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. Two Dollar Late Fee & Podcasting After Dark wrap up crossover month with the cast & crew of the new streaming series, Scream & Cry Horror Movie Review! Scream and Cry Horror Movie Review is a new comedy horror series created by Valley Girl's Heidi Holicker (co-creator/writer/director/producer/props/wardrobe) & Reed Shelly (co-creator/writer/director/producer). It stars Mimi Torres as “Scream” & E.G. THE SWIMMER (1968) We dive deep in to The Swimmer and discuss and analyze, maybe just a little bit the glorious film directed by Frank Perry, based on a screenplay by Eleanor Perry, from the 12 page short story by John Cheever. "Well-off ad man Ned Merrill (Burt Lancaster) is visiting a friend when he notices the abundance of backyard pools that populate their upscale suburb. Ned suddenly decides that he'd like to travel the eight miles back to his own home by simply swimming across every pool in town."If you're reading this I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.
