ALL SONGS MENTIONED IN THIS INTERVIEW CAN FOUND AT Sycorah youtube channel or purchased from Sycorah music Sychora is a singer, songwriter and poet with a distinctive smooth soulful Lovers Rock sound. On the show, we will be playing some of her popular songs as well as discussing her journey into the music business. Reggae singer-songwriter Sycorah has just released the first single and official video for, "Skin" (2017), from her forthcoming EP, “Rustique Energy,” which is set to be released in 2018. “Skin,” is produced by Delroy "Phatta" Pottinger from Phat Trax Records in Jamaica. He also produced her recent release, “Undercover Lover” (2017). Her distinctive smooth soulful Lovers Rock sound can be described as reminiscent of Lauryn Hill, with a strong delivery compared to Diana King. She was born Simone Samantha Daley to former teacher Desmond Daley and Singer Barbara Brown. She is the second of four children and was raised in Kingston 11, Jamaica. Her music career began in 2009, with an introduction to legendary Reggae producer Bobby Digital. She recalls, “Bobby Digital said I had a 'fresh sound,' and we started working together that very same night in the studio.” She enjoyed working with Digital, and went on to complete her first single, "Satisfy You" (2010). It was brought to life on the airways by radio disc jockey Mighty Mike. The song played over the Tantric Rhythm on Irie FM. Sycorah is inspired by her parents. Her late mother was the Dancehall artist known as Sneaking Rachel. She managed Sycorah’s music career until she died. Her last words to her daughter were, "You're going to be a star." Sycorah also carries the words of her father, who continues to be a forceful influence for her success. His motto of encouragement to her is, “If you believe in something hard enough, you will achieve.” In 2009, she recorded two dubs, "Healing," and, "Your Fingers." These were released in 2010, by producer Mikey Brooks on the Coptic Lion Record Label. She changed her name to Sycorah, which reflected her decision to pursue a professional music career; she says she felt compelled to reinvent herself. Sycorah later went on to work with Ernie Wilks on a single called, "Keep It on the Low" (2010), on the Rude Boy Rhythm under his label Mistawilks Productions. She explains how "That song is a tribute to my life in the employment environment. I must tell you, it was very rough as I searched for work to support my music." She also worked with producer-singer Elijah from Switzerland on a single called, "Tell Me How You Feel.” While Sycorah is working on her forthcoming EP, she is also in preparation for an upcoming tour. You will certainly be hearing more of this distinctive voice in 2017 and beyond! Sycorah youtube Sycorah music

Morgan was born in Jamaica, and migrated to Brooklyn, New York .. He was immediately seduced by the weekly live concerts at the Apollo Theatre in the 60s where he could see musical giants like James Brown, Wilson Pickett, O'Jays, Al Green and The Temptations. Denroy enrolled at the New York School of Music. There he briefly studied guitar and piano, and it wasn't long before he started two bands in New York, Mad Creators, and later, Black Eagles. The latter enjoyed the distinction of becoming the first roots & culture reggae band in New York City. A chance meeting with Denroy and Bert Reid, the saxophonist from the then flashy and popular Crown Heights Affair band led to a label deal and a chart topper with the radio anthems I'll Do Anything and Sweet Tender Love in the early 1980s. Suddenly he found himself performing in unlikely venues like New York's shrine to club music, the Paradise Garage, and he was instantly on tour with unlikely artists such as Frankie Beverly & Maze, Slave, Evelyn King and Archie Bell and the Dells. Morgan become the first reggae artist to be signed by the major label RCA Records. Perfect (born Greg Rose, Jamaica) is a reggae singer The third child in a family of four children, Rose grew up in Bamboo, in the parish of St. Ann. Perfect cut his first tune as Little Ninja, before settling on his current stage name.He began deejaying in the sound system Trend Setter from Bamboo where he grown and recorded his first dubplates. In the late 1990s he often had to go to Kingston to make his name and record. The first song that really began making his name was "Lock Me Up" in 2004 for Courntey MacIntosh from Irie FM but he was really revealed with "Handcart Bwoy" in 2005. He released his first album, Giddimani, the next year. The Austrian record label Irie vibrations released his second album, Born Dead with Life, in 2008.
