Join Holly Stephey as she talks to Amelia Davis about Jim Marshall and Award Winning Documentary ~"Show Me The Picture: The Story Of Jim Marshall" A master lensman with an all-access pass to the musicians, music, and seminal events that defined the Sixties' counterculture and social movements, Jim Marshall is a legend. The award-winning documentary Show Me The Picture: The Story of Jim Marshall recounts the photographer's colorful life behind and in front of the camera. A child of immigrants, Marshall had an innate curiosity about the people and the social issues dominating the latter half of the 20th century. And he had incredible timing, capturing decisive moments of some of the most iconic figures in music history: among them, the Beatles, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, and Miles Davis. Throughout his groundbreaking career, Marshall crossed boundaries to record an extraordinary period of history. His images of protest, civil unrest, and poverty, along with his stunning photography of the American jazz scene, San Francisco's Summer of Love, and the early New York folk scene, are powerful. His famously, or infamously, abrasive but honest approach, combined with an incredible skill to build trust, allowed Marshall exceptional access to his subjects and enabled him to expand his portfolio beyond celebrities, to document history across the ages. In 2014, four years after his death, Marshall was honored with the Recording Academy's Trustees Award  from the Recording Academy, for his contribution to chronicling music history. Today, Jim Marshall's artistry is celebrated worldwide. Touring exhibits of his photographs across the US and Europe have brought in new fans and collectors of his indelibly iconic images.Amelia Davis, owner of Jim Marshall Photography LLC, was the longtime personal assistant to legendary photographer Jim Marshall.

Join us as we talk to James Maddock about his new release "No time to cry" ! Recorded in Brooklyn and Vail, Colorado in 2019. No Time to Cry  is the latest effort from a master of the genre.  A rock & roll lifer, James Maddock has been carving his unique path since the 1980s, when the British-born singer/songwriter kicked off his career with a raw, soulful voice; a storyteller's sense of narrative; and the ability to blur the lines between folk, classic pop, and rock.  Since those early days in London, he's ridden the wave of a music industry that's ebbed, flowed, peaked, and crashed. Maddock has stayed afloat throughout the entire ride, enjoying a brush with commercial success during the late 1990s — including a major-label record deal, a Top 5 AAA radio hit, and a song placement on Dawson's Creek — before transforming himself into an independent solo artist during the decades that followed. Bruce Springsteen is a fan. So is David Letterman. Listening to Maddock's newest release , No Timd To Cry , it's easy to see the appeal.

British singer-songwriter Lynne Jackaman, former frontwoman of cult rock band Saint Jude, has released her debut album ‘One Shot’ on CD, DL and limited edition vinyl LP. Recorded at the legendary FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, ‘One Shot’ sees Jackaman’s mighty voice supported by a cast of its storied musicians: Spooner Oldham, whose organ playing helped bring ‘When A Man Loves A Woman’ and ‘Mustang Sally’ to life; Marvin and Aretha’s keyboardist Clayton Ivey; Ray Charles’ bassist Bob Wray; Bonnie Raitt’s guitarist Will McFarlane; and The Shoals Sisters, backing vocalists for everyone from Etta James to Alicia Keys. The album is being released into a very different world than when it was recorded. “I wasn’t sure whether I should even be releasing music at this time,” comments Jackaman. “It felt kind of trivial. But as time has passed, I’ve been thinking we need music more than ever, so I’ve decided to release ‘One Shot’ this summer rather than wait until the world goes back to normal…whatever and whenever that is. In these testing times, what are recording artists expected to do? And although touring is not possible at the moment, I hope the record propels you into the live feel we captured at Fame Studios.”

The paradigm of classical piano state: "For a pianist to become successful, one has to stay within the boundaries of the classical form itself. " In the case of Elizabeth Spano, the artiste transforms classical music into a new sound of elegance of deeptones of modern classical music along with the influences of latter day composers such as her main influenecs Ludwig Van Beethoven and Johann Sebastian Bach.  Elizabeth Spano's favorite quote comes from one of the greatest  representatives of Romanticism in Russian Classical music- Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff who once said: "The new kind of music seems to create not from the heart but from the head. Its composers think rather than feel. They have not the capacity to make their works exalt- they meditate, protest, analyze, reason , calculate and brood, but they do not exalt." At the age of 11 she attended the Glenn Gould professional School of Music at the Toronto Royal  Conservatory of Music. An alumna of York University, Elizabeth Spano excelled to a level equal to that of Today's modern day composer.  Elizabeth Spano's piano repertoire showcases a cascade of compositions that deliver a plethora of subtle key delicacies from the softest feminine delicate touch similar to that of a butterfly to the dynamic roar of key precision far exceeding the limits of today's male piano counterparts.

SARAH CLANTON’S SPEAKEASY POP’ICANA SHOW IS A CELLO-BRATION OF THE UNEXPECTED. This Nashville based singer-songwriter blends flashes of the classically-trained pop sensibility of Regina Spektor and the sultry jazzitude of Amy Winehouse together in what Clanton calls a “cello-bration” in a one-of-kind musical approach. Sarah Clanton is bringing people together and building a feel-good machine. The Nashville singer-songwriter, who has brought the classical and pop worlds together with her use of a cello, rather than a guitar, to front one of Music City’s most unique bands, has been on a feel-good mission since long before she plucked her way into town. But it’s never been more apparent than on her new album, Here We Are.   Here We Are may be a solo album, but Clanton says it could not have been made without others — from co-producer Eric Loomis, to a group of top Nashville session musicians and many more. But mostly, she says, the album was made for others. She jokes that the uplifting, “big and awesome” pop album is a “feel-good machine,” built to bring people together in these difficult and divisive times. “We’re not going to make any progress being divided,” she says. “If I can get some of that mindfulness out there to negate some of the hate, that would be so great.”

The rapport he’s developed with his musician friends, along with his down-to-earth-grin and frequent laugh, enables him to capture the candid shots that convey a rare feeling of trust and intimacy with his subjects For Diltz, the pictures began with a $20 second-hand Japanese camera purchased on tour with the Modern Folk Quartet. Despite his lack of formal training, Diltz easily submerged himself in the world of music: the road, the gigs, the humor, the social consciousness, the psychedelia, the up and down times. For over 40 years, his work has graced hundreds of album covers and has been featured in books, magazines and newspapers. Bob Gruen is one of the most well-known and respected photographers in rock and roll. From John Lennon to Johnny Rotten; Muddy Waters to the Rolling Stones; Elvis to Madonna; Bob Dylan to Bob Marley; Tina Turner to Debbie Harry, he has captured the music scene for over forty years in photographs that have gained worldwide recognition. Shortly after John Lennon moved to New York in 1971, Bob became John and Yoko’s personal photographer and friend, making photos of their working life as well as private moments. In 1974 he created the iconic images of John Lennon wearing a New York City t-shirt and standing in front of the Statue of Liberty making the peace sign – two of the most popular of Lennon’s images. As chief photographer for Rock Scene Magazine in the ’70s, Bob specialized in candid, behind the scenes photo features. He toured extensively with the emerging punk and new wave bands including the New York Dolls, Sex Pistols, Clash, Ramones, Patti Smith Group and Blondie. Bob has also worked with major rock acts such as Led Zeppelin, The Who, David Bowie, Tina Turner, Elton John, Aerosmith, Kiss and Alice Cooper. In 1989, he documented the epic trip to Russia of the “Moscow Music Peace Festival” featuring Ozzy Osbourne, Mötley Crüe and Bon Jovi. For many years Bob was the official photographer for the New Music Seminar held in New York City, covering dozens of aspiring new bands in the course of a summer week. This seminal body of work reflects a profound commitment and long-standing personal friendship with the artists. His wealth of personal experiences and uncanny memory provide the most illuminating and comprehensive histories of rock youth culture.

K18 UPPERCUT is a directorial and design collective created in 2018 by Morris Lee and Pete Gibson, spanning both Eastern and Western hemispheres. It started with a desire to collaborate with musicians and visual artists, whom they love and respect. The ever-evolving line up shares a collective passion in bringing new experiences through music, visuals, and other forms of creative expression.18 UPPERCUT reaction to our dream of being a rap super group where we could party on yachts with champagne and be surrounded by beautiful women. We knew this was highly unlikely given one half of the duo is from a nanny state, Singapore and the other a rodeo friendly part of the USA. We decided it would be best if we try to be the visual equivalent of Wu-Tang Clan and the Beastie Boys - sampling our childhood love of Tron, Kungfu, Star Wars, Anime, Kaiju and our perverse interests in exploitation and hentai films.  We’ve come to realize our backgrounds and collective experiences positioned us uniquely in the crossroads of Eastern and Western culture. So we set out to appropriate and reinvent pop culture that transcended hemispheres.  To do this, we have committed to jamming on ideas daily after our exhausting day jobs, pitching treatments in futile to people who think we’re a bunch of crazy motherfuckers, and hustling for pennies to mitigate the impact of self-funding our projects. Our nights are spent figuring out kung-fu choreography and how to get blood to gush out gloriously from silicone limbs, having not done any of that shit before.. we are in fact more than directors, taking on multiple roles of producers, prop, sets, toy and tee designers.

About AWKWARD i AWKWARD i is the more song-oriented pseudonym of Dutch musician and composer Djurre de Haan. De Haan has released three full-length albums as AWKWARD i. I Really Should Whisper was an intricate but lo-fi affair, sophomore album Everything On Wheels applied a more ornate, studio-oriented approach. His third upcoming album KYD reconciles the two methods to a degree, engaging the listener with his distinct self-effacing sense of humor, offbeat-but-poignant reflections and a dense proclivity for conflating sonorous pop with lo-fi quirks.

Palmyra Delran is inciting espionage. “Come Spy With Me is an invitation to come for the ride and listen to the record with me,” says the trash-pop maven of her new album on Steven Van Zandt’s Wicked Cool Records, out November 9. “Plus, spying is all the rage these days. I know there’s a movie from 1967 with the same title as my album, but I haven’t seen it.” Spy builds on Palmyra’s growing notoriety within the Garage Rock universe, which has seen many of her tracks named “Coolest Song In The World” on Little Steven’s Underground Garage. One of them, “Baby Should Have Known Better,” was even SiriusXM listeners’ choice for “Coolest Song Of The Year” in 2008. Another fan favorite, “You’re My Brian Jones,” was a highlight of her last full-length effort, 2013’s You Are What You Absorb. The Doppel Gang consists of bassist Michael Lynch (“a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who’s been in tons of cool bands and released a few records of his own”), drummer Mark Brotter (“he’s played with Hem, Evie Sands, Alan Merrill who wrote “I Love Rock ’n’ Roll” and Bowery Boys”) and Richard Dev Greene (“true rock ’n’ roll to the core, he was in Pale Face Of Youth who re- formed as Pale Moon Gang, and he’s doing gigs with the re-formed Plimsouls”).
