SUBURBAKNIGHT: Act Two Walter Knope has finally discovered the one thing worse than suspecting your new neighbor is a sex demon. Being right. Inside Richard's immaculate house, Walter gets the confirmation he was looking for. The Maitlands are dead. Richard isn't human. And he isn't just interested in Samantha. He wants everything Walter has. Walter tries to warn Sam. It goes badly. What starts as an argument about Richard quickly becomes an argument about money, sex, failure, jealousy and every other thing a married couple has been politely not saying out loud. Sam packs a bag. Walter, terrified Richard will get to her, practically helps her leave. Written by Nick Bannister, SUBURBAKNIGHT is a wicked suburban horror-comedy about marriage, masculinity and what happens when your midlife crisis actually grows horns. Walter needs someone who understands monsters. Enter Bobby Joe Williams. Local horror host. Full-time drunk. Part-time monster expert. Possibly the least reassuring person you could want standing between your family and eternal damnation. Bobby Joe confirms the bad news. Richard is an incubus. He feeds on souls, controls his victims through desire and, unfortunately, appears to be immortal. Meanwhile, Richard has already started remaking the neighborhood. Walter goes looking for Andy and instead finds him dead in the bathtub, his wife Alli transformed into something considerably less neighborly. Walter barely escapes with his life. Then Samantha comes home. Richard is waiting. This time, Sam sees him too. When Richard finally drops the charm and shows them what he really is, he offers Walter everything he ever wanted. Money. Freedom. A fresh start. All he wants in return is Samantha. Walter says no. Then Mia introduces Richard's face to a medieval mace. For a moment, it feels like the Knopes may actually have this thing under control. Then Richard takes their daughter. Now Walter and Sam are done running. They need Mia back. They need help. Unfortunately, the closest thing they have to a professional is Bobby Joe Williams in boxer shorts drinking margarita straight from a blender pitcher. So they do what any responsible parents would do. They raid the failed antique business. Crossbow. Mace. Axe. Sword. Armor. Walter's junk has finally found a purpose. And across the street, Richard is waiting. Starring Darin Toonder, Jim O'Heir, Jade Tailor, Jack Daniel, Rob Fitzgerald, Logan Laurel, Emily Brolin, Ashley Platz, and Zeke Alton. Produced by Table Read Podcast and Manifest Media Productions, LLC. Executive Produced by Jack Levy, Shaan Sharma, and Mark Knell. Blue October's Matt Noveskey | 20 Years of Foiled, 1.5 Billion Streams & a Full-Circle JourneySome interviews are about meeting someone for the first time. This one is about reconnecting with a story that has been part of mine for more than 25 years.I first saw Blue October at Rock Fest 2000 in Omaha, Nebraska—a legendary lineup featuring 311, Stone Temple Pilots, Incubus, Papa Roach, Nickelback and more. Months later, I opened for Blue October at the Ranch Bowl and eventually several more times, including at the Music Box. There was even a day spent hanging out at Fun-Plex before one of their Omaha shows. Then, in 2006, Justin Furstenfeld unexpectedly showed up at my band's show at Knickerbockers in Lincoln. He loved our set, gave us Blue October's manager's number, and asked if we wanted to tour. That opportunity ultimately became one of the moments that changed the trajectory of my band.Years later, I found myself working security when Blue October returned to Lincoln. Now, more than 25 years after I first saw the band, I sit down with bassist Matt Noveskey. We talk about Blue October's early days, the road to Foiled, the explosive success of “Hate Me” and “Into the Ocean,” the challenges that came with that success, and what has allowed the band to remain creatively relevant nearly three decades later. We also dive into the 20th anniversary of Foiled, the album's lasting impact, Blue October's connection with generations of fans, and the incredible milestone of their catalog surpassing 1.5 billion streams. For me, this conversation is more than an interview. It's a full-circle moment with a band whose story has intersected with mine in ways I never could have predicted back in 2000.Listen. Watch. Subscribe. Bring Me The Axe! Horror Podcast

This week we're taking on one of the weirdest horror movie misfires of the 80s. It's an explicable mess of a movie that statistically shouldn't have been a loser ad yet here we are. A series of brutal murders and rapes rocks a small New England town. The medical examiner, the chief of police, and a local newspaper reporter team up to solve the crimes but the evidence doesn't make any sense. Is this the work of a gang of people or one man? The latter seems to be the case but how could that even be possible given the loads and loads of evidence (that joke will make sense when you listen to the episode) left behind. In the end, shadows of the town's ugly past resurface and the perpetrator of these crimes may not even be human! Starring iconoclast and independent film mastermind John Cassavetes, Incubus sports a script written by Amityville Horror's Sandor Stern with heavy rewrites from Cassavetes himself. The remaining movie is a mystifying parade of the most deranged dialog you've ever heard. In any other case this is a forgettable piece of 80s horror garbage but the utterly insane chatter makes it a truly unique horror movie. fWotD Episode 3367: Bleed American Welcome to featured Wiki of the Day, your daily dose of knowledge from Wikipedia's finest articles. The featured article for Friday, 24 July 2026, is Bleed American.Bleed American is the fourth studio album by the American rock band Jimmy Eat World, released on July 24, 2001, by DreamWorks Records. The album was re-released as Jimmy Eat World following the September 11 attacks; that name remained until 2008, when it was re-released with its original title returned.Following the commercial failure and lack of recognition for their third album Clarity (1999) from Capitol Records, Jimmy Eat World were dropped by the label in late 1999. Aside from working odd jobs, the band toured to raise money for their next album. It was recorded with Mark Trombino and the band served as producers in October and November 2000 at the Cherokee and Harddrive studios in Los Angeles, respectively. The musical style was more direct and accessible than its predecessor, with simpler chord structures."Bleed American" was released to radio on June 5, 2001, as the album's lead single, coinciding with Jimmy Eat World's tours of Australia and Japan (the latter supporting Eastern Youth). After appearing on the East Coast dates of the Warped Tour, the band supported Blink-182 and Weezer. "The Middle" was released as a single in October 2001. The band went on a headlining European tour in early 2002, followed by a Japanese tour, leading up to a two-month support slot for Blink-182 and Green Day on their Pop Disaster Tour. "Sweetness" was released as the third single on June 3, 2002. The band supported Incubus in Australia, before embarking on headlining tours of the UK and the US. "A Praise Chorus" was released as a promotional single during 2002.Each single from Bleed American entered the top twenty of at least one US chart. The most successful was "The Middle", which reached number one on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and number five on the Billboard Hot 100. In August 2002, Bleed American was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) after its sales reached over one million copies. As of September 2016, the album has sold over 1.6 million copies in the US. Bleed American was well-received by critics and appeared on several publications' best-of-the-year album lists, by the likes of CMJ New Music Report and Q, as well as all-time lists by publications such as Consequence of Sound, NME and Spin. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 01:10 UTC on Friday, 24 July 2026.For the full current version of the article, see Bleed American on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm standard Aditi.

Monday, June 8, 2026Brock welcomes his longtime best friend Josh Satterfield back into the studio for a full-on throwback episode packed with old radio memories, ridiculous breakup excuses, random facts, and classic Brock-and-Josh chemistry. The two reminisce about their college radio days on Jibber Jabber, their old show Nap Time, and how this version of Brock in the Morning is “the real deal” on Sam's Furniture Radio. The trending topic of the day is the most unhinged breakup excuse you've ever heard, and the answers do not disappoint. From “my mom doesn't think you're right for me” even though the mom had passed away years earlier, to “my therapist says I need someone who matches my moon phase,” to the classic “God told me we need to break up,” Brock and Josh dig into the wild, awkward, and hilarious ways people try to end relationships. The show also covers plenty of “What the Heck” moments, including new Hot Pocket Snack Breaks, an Olive Garden server allegedly being denied a $700 tip, a fistfight breaking out at a kindergarten graduation, and a priest in Detroit going full crime-fighter mode after chasing down a suspected car thief. Brock and Josh mix in random facts about zebras, gladiators, Russell Crowe, The Bahamas, The North Face, and the original lyrics to “Escape,” better known as the Pina Colada song.In the 7 AM Challenge, Josh plays “Answer Wrong and Win,” leading to some beautifully dumb answers involving chocolate milk, grocery shopping, and Olympic seasons. Later, the guys dive into dad rock, ranking bands like Weezer, The Offspring, Linkin Park, Korn, Incubus, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Fall Out Boy, Creed, and Blink-182 as the new soundtrack of fatherhood. That naturally leads to memories of concerts, college, Mr. T commercials, Prince, Randy Travis, Lainey Wilson, donuts, and the kind of nostalgic chaos only best friends can create. The episode wraps with Brock and Josh talking about Modern Mission laser tag, wild cruise cabin plumbing disasters, terrible breakup excuses, celebrity gossip, and one last college-radio-style goodbye with a little Russ Taff energy. It is a funny, nostalgic, and all-over-the-place Monday show with best-friend banter at the center.

Summer officially arrived the second a teenager accepted cash to shave off his broccoli haircut in somebody's garage like it was a shady underground stock trade. This episode of The Rizzuto Show starts with a parenting moment every adult secretly fears: your kid walks into the house saying, “Dad… I think I messed up.” Naturally, everyone assumes the car exploded or someone got arrested. Nope. Just a fresh buzzcut and instant regret.Apparently the new trend among teenage dudes is sacrificing their curls for gas money, construction jobs, or whatever weird social experiment Gen Z is running this week. The gang debates whether the broccoli boys are evolving, devolving, or accidentally forming a 1998 nu-metal tribute band. There's also concern over sunscreen, dating prospects, and whether moms are legally allowed to roast their sons immediately after a haircut disaster. Then things somehow get even more chaotic with the return of the “Three Song Challenge,” where listeners have exactly seconds to identify legendary bands based on three song titles. Sounds easy, right? Apparently not. Friday's contestants embarrassed the entire listening audience, so this episode becomes a redemption tour for humanity itself. The daily comedy show spirals through rounds featuring Pearl Jam, Def Leppard, Van Halen, Soundgarden, Blink-182, Black Sabbath, Stone Temple Pilots, Journey, Weezer, Rage Against The Machine, CCR, Smashing Pumpkins, Mötley Crüe, No Doubt, Iron Maiden, Incubus, ZZ Top, and Beastie Boys. Some callers absolutely dominate. Others sound like they've never heard music before despite living on Earth their entire lives. There are screaming kids in the background, accidental team-ups between callers, confusion, panic, and enough rock nostalgia to make your uncle punch drywall in excitement. It's basically what happens when a funny podcast combines classic rock radio, family dysfunction, and game show pressure into one beautiful trainwreck. The gang also teases discussions about dating costs, modern beauty standards, and whether the legendary “dad bod” was ever truly appreciated or if society just gaslit average men for several years. Tough questions get asked. Few answers arrive. If you love a comedy podcast loaded with sarcastic humor, music references, weird trends, parenting fails, St. Louis chaos, and daily nonsense that somehow feels therapeutic, this episode delivers all of it. This daily comedy show continues proving that absolutely nobody has things figured out — especially not the people hosting it.And honestly? Pod Jam 2024: Pops on Hops Friend Exchange (New York Funk Exchange and Able Baker Brewing) and Bonus: LIVE from Stand Up! Pod Jam 2025: Neon Desert Challenge (the latter of which he also produced for us!). Give his previous appearances some love; they are a lot of fun!Nick, in part, chose to assign us this album because of Abigail's beef with He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince as displayed in Jukebox: He's the Drinker, We're the Talkers (DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince and Evil Genius Beer Company). Coincidentally, this album reminded Abigail of a different Derek Hummel, Sr., Jukebox selection, Make Yourself by Incubus, as discussed in Jukebox: Make Your Flight (Incubus and Hell 'n Blazes Brewing Co.).Both DJ Cut Chemist and MC Chali 2na left Ozomatli after this album because their other group, Jurassic 5, was blowing up.We found a great blog with additional information about and clips of Nick's favorite “trumpet battle” between Wynton Marsalis and Trombone Shorty at the House of Blues in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 2009. Evidently, trumpet battles have been going on for over 100 years!Watch Chali 2na and New Orleans-based jazz band Naughty Professor perform Cut Chemist Suite live at the Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 2018!Oh look, more self-promotion! O Le Le names Edie Brickell, whom we have previously reviewed (see Using Honeybees for the Meads [Edie Brickell & New Bohemians and B. Nektar]). We could think of at least one other time an artist we reviewed explicitly names an artist we'd previously reviewed: Crash Test Dummies (see Pops Shuffled His Flight [Crash Test Dummies and Toll Road Brewing Company]) names David Bryne (see Byrned-Again [David Byrne and Lincoln & South Brewing Company]) in When I Go Out with Artists. These two latter albums are both among Abigail's top five favorite albums we've ever reviewed, as revealed in our Pops on Hops Hot 100 Special!Super Bowl Sundae contains a sample that sounds very similar to a sample previously discussed on the podcast: Hip Hop Dancer's Theme by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince samples Peter Piper by Run-D.M.C., which sampled Take Me to the Mardi Gras by Bob James.Abigail plugged The Manifesto (feat. Well well well, Mr Hucknall, we meet again. Simply Red's 1995 album 'Life' was a big seller and had a massive number one single on it but kind of feels like it doesn't get remembered much when people look back. We certainly didn't know anything much about it going into this episode and to be honest we kind of wish it had stayed that way. But we do have probably the biggest albums and singles sections that we've ever done, loads of bands that we get to talk about like Smashing Pumpkins, Incubus, Anthrax and obviously Cliff Richard. Plus we get to add a song to our "much-loved" Give Me Some Reggae! playlist where we add terrible reggae songs from albums we're covering that are in no way reggae albums which is always the sign of a good episode. As always please do give us a follow on our social media platforms and why not go and give us a nice rating or comment over on Spotify now that you're able to while you're checking out this episode's companion playlist (which contains ALL of the songs we talk about on this one) and our ongoing and sprawling playlist of songs from each album that we do an episode on. "We're a little egoless. Robb has spent decades building the visual experiences that define live music for artists like Fall Out Boy, Incubus, and Panic! At The Disco. We discuss his journey from a teenager in Michigan to the center of the concert production world. Episode highlights The "Tetanus" origin story: Robb recounts his early days in a metal band called Tetanus and how an attempt to use car headlights for stage lighting led to a run-in with the law and a formative stint doing community service at the Frauenthal Theater. Touring with the Backstreet Boys: At just 19 years old, Robb landed a spot on a tour with the Backstreet Boys during the height of their popularity. The birth of So Midwest: Originally started as a tax shelter while touring with Incubus, the company name was inspired by a simple 1-inch button found at the Empty Bottle. The shift to motion graphics: Robb explains how the industry transitioned from "smoky beams of light" to complex video content and 3D animation around 2007. Working with Chicago legends: We talk about his long-standing relationships with local favorites like Alkaline Trio, The Lawrence Arms, and Chevelle. Welcome back to When Words Fail, Music Speaks, the podcast where we harness the healing power of music to battle depression, trauma, and the everyday battles we all face. I'm your host, James Cox—a lover of music who knows firsthand how a riff can become a lifeline. In today's episode we sit down with Sean Martin, the powerhouse vocalist and guitarist behind the hard‑rock outfit The Quarantine. Sean's journey weaves together grunge grit, military grit, and raw, unapologetic honesty. From his days in the airborne infantry and covert training in Alaska and Thailand to the darker corridors of PTSD and a “temporary psychotic breakdown” that landed him in a VA inpatient program, Sean shows us how music can become both therapy and rebellion.Together we explore:Art as Therapy – how Sean turned a scathing rap‑rock track, “Nemesis,” into a cathartic outlet for trauma. The Weight of OPSEC – why soldiers often stay silent, and how breaking that silence unlocks healing.Band Identity – the meaning behind “The Quarantine” and its stance against societal other‑ization.Discipline Meets Creativity – what military rigor taught Sean about practice, improvisation, and pushing beyond the sheet music.Grunge Roots & Influences – his first connection to Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Soundgarden, and how those sounds still echo in his writing.Lightning‑Round Favorites – from Soundgarden and Pantera to Incubus, Deftones, and even Michael Jackson, revealing the eclectic soundtrack that fuels his soul.If you've ever felt the sting of isolation, the roar of anxiety, or the need for a musical spark to pull you back from the edge, this conversation is for you. Grab your headphones, take a breath, and let Sean's story remind you that, no matter how loud the world gets, there's always a chord that can bring us back to center.Stay tuned—because when words fail, music speaks.

What caught her off guard wasn't the nostalgia… it was how relevant the lyrics still were decades later. That moment opens up a bigger question:Did the things we loved when we were younger know something about us before we did?In this episode, you'll hear:A personal story from Michelle's teenage years and early grafting daysWhy certain songs hit differently as we get olderHow lyrics we once screamed for fun can quietly reflect the life warnings we ignoredMichelle's own lyric deep-dive into Warning by Incubus — and why it lands harder now than it ever didA no-pressure dare designed purely for enjoyment, curiosity, and maybe a little clarityThis week's dare:Pick a song you used to love. The one you knew every lyric to.Listen to it. Sing it loudly if you want. Then ask yourself one question:Do the lyrics still resonate — or are they just fun noise?Either answer is valid. Two to three minutes of joy still counts as a win.If the lyrics hit you in the chest a bit? Michelle wants to hear about it.Head over to Instagram and drop her a message with the song and the line that stuck.Want more dares like this?Dare Club is where these weekly dares live — alongside behind-the-scenes podcast updates and early access to what's coming next. Right now it's a newsletter, but it won't stay that way for long.If you want in early, the link's here: https://stan.store/shewhodareswinsMichelle's back on Monday with another guest story worth your time.Until then — enjoy the music, and don't let life pass you by.

Phoenix and Mercedes Arn-Horn are the twin siblings behind the Juno-nominated shoegaze duo Softcult. While Softcult has been celebrated all over North America, opening for bands like Muse and Incubus, they're only just releasing their debut album today. It's called When A Flower Doesn't Grow and it's a record that's been years in the making. Phoenix and Mercedes join guest host Talia Schlanger to discuss life outside the major label model, why they decided to call out the abuse they faced in their life and in the music industry, and how they see their role in supporting abused and marginalized people.

In this laugh-out-loud segment of The Ben and Skin Show, Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina Ray dive headfirst into the wild world of music news—and things get hilariously off the rails. From Bush announcing their “Land of Milk and Honey” spring tour to Candlebox coming out of retirement (again), the crew debates band names, websites, and why some groups just can't stay gone.Krystina drops the big news about Bush hitting Irving with Mammoth WVH and James and the Cold Gun, sparking a side-splitting conversation about whether having a website is the ultimate ticket to fame. KT's deadpan delivery on “I'll email their management” and the gang's obsession with booking “James” (or maybe just the Cold Gun) will have you in stitches.

As Solomon duelled the Incubus, the wraithbone Warp gate opened a portal to Commorragh, and the Archon grew impatient, popping the heads of Governor Darius and the Astropath. Damien summoned his psychic abilities and finished off the Incubus, but the powers in the Warp overwhelmed him and he became possessed by the Deamon Kestrel. Morgan decided to leave the governor to his fate in favour of saving Damien, and she and the rest of the agents spoke holy words of encouragement until Damien finally forced Kestrel out once more. As the Deamon was pushed back, a light shone down and, miraculously, Darius was somehow alive.Featuring players Del Borovic, Guy Bradford, Josh Halbot, and Tyler Hewitt, and Dungeon Master Ryan LaPlante.Enjoying Agents of the Inquisition?- Consider supporting the show for as little as $1 a month to get BTS fun, an ad-free feed, and even add your own character to the podcast! The band fought and destroyed the massive Spyrer Amberlin. Morgan used the password Hydra Dominatus to access the throne room where two Drukhari bearing symbols of the Kabal of the Bladed Cage held Darius and his Astropath hostage. As they reached an impasse with words, the Archon suggested a duel between the Incubus and Solomon. As the two fought, Morgan called Romeo in to stealthily observe the rest of the room. The servitor identified two hostage adepts of the Mechanicus working on what appeared to be a wraithbone arch, but the purpose the arch—whether as an escape path for the Archon or an entry point for Deamons—could not be determined.Featuring players Del Borovic, Guy Bradford, Josh Halbot, and Tyler Hewitt, and Dungeon Master Ryan LaPlante.Enjoying Agents of the Inquisition?- Consider supporting the show for as little as $1 a month to get BTS fun, an ad-free feed, and even add your own character to the podcast! John Abulafia in conversation with David Eastaugh  https://unfinishedhistories.com/history/companies/incubus/john-abulafia-on-incubus/ https://unfinishedhistories.com/history/companies/incubus/ Incubus Theatre has its origins in a 1968 production of Kafka's Metamorphosis that John Abulafia wrote and directed while he was at Sussex University. The part of Josef  K was created by Paddy Fletcher, then studying at Brighton Art College. John says of Paddy, ‘He was the most extraordinary, inventive performer, and a wonderful creative collaborator. I had a clear vision of the kind of theatre I wanted to create but everyone else told me that it was impossible to stage a play where a human turns into an insect. Paddy's response was that if I didn't give him the part he would never speak to me again. He tried any and every distortion of his body to create Josef K: he brought to life Kafka's vision of a tormented creature paying the price for the sins of his family. This Metamorphosis was before Berkoff and before anyone used the term Physical Theatre.‘ Metamorphosis took the 1968 NUS/ Sunday Times drama festival by storm, was invited to the Oxford Playhouse, and then to a series of other London venues.

He didn't believe in ghosts. He didn't believe in God. But disbelief doesn't protect you. After a family funeral, he reconnected with a young cousin who claimed something dark had followed her for years. Scratches appeared overnight. Voices whispered through walls. He tried to reason it away — until the haunting followed him. It began with a voice on the baby monitor — soft, steady, speaking his name. Toys moved on their own. The air froze in seconds. Then his wife felt the bed sink beside her, as if a small body had climbed in… but no one was there. When he looked in the dark reflection of the TV, a figure stood behind him — human-shaped, silent, watching. Research led him to one word repeated again and again: Incubus. A presence that feeds on fear, binding itself to families, passing between bloodlines. The more he denied it, the closer it came. What began as coincidence became a shared haunting — two relatives marked by something they never invited, something that didn't need belief to exist. This is not just another ghost story. This is a true account of doubt, connection, and the terrifying proof that sometimes the supernatural doesn't ask for permission… it just arrives. From medieval monasteries to modern suburban bedrooms, people describe encounters with entities that seduce, terrorize, and feed upon their victims in ways that blur the line between nightmare and reality. These accounts span every culture and continent, from ancient Mesopotamian texts about the demon Lilith to contemporary Reddit posts about beings that attach themselves like parasites to human souls. Tonight's journey explores the disturbing consistency of these testimonies across millennia, and asks why so many unconnected people describe experiencing the exact same phenomena - entities that wait until we're at our most vulnerable, when sleep and waking merge, to make their presence terrifyingly known.CHAPTERS & TIME STAMPS (All Times Approximate)…00:00:00.000 = Lead-In00:02:34.344 = Show Open00:05:34.552 = The Sleep Paralysis Connection00:20:18.980 = Modern Encounters, Ancient Methods00:43:26.557 = Breaking The Ancestral Chain00:53:48.871 = Show CloseSOURCES AND RESOURCES FROM THE EPISODE…“Sex and the Single Succubus”: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/sexandthesinglesuccubus“Temptation To Terror, Seduction To Screams”: https://weirddarkness.com/incubus-succubus/Church of the Undead episode about sleep paralysis: https://weirddarkness.com/cotu-sleepparalysis/BOOK: “Sleep Paralysis: Historical, Psychological and Medical Perspectives” by Brian Sharpless: https://amzn.to/46HXtTI=====(Over time links may become invalid, disappear, or have different content.
