Playlist:Headache - The Beginning of the EndMachinedrum, aja monet - ORACLECielö - Últimamente he pensado bastante en la muerteMatsu - ArrebatoOneohtrix Point Never - Cherry BlueAstrid Sonne - Staying hereFine - Days IncompleteLana Del Rey - Happiness is a butterflyFabiana Palladino - Stay With Me Through The NightLittle Simz - FreeMark Ronson, RAYE - SuzanneJames Blake - Thrown AroundMoby - Next Is the EAvalon Emerson, Moby - E After NextRomy - Always ForeverWednesday - Elderberry WineSnocaps - Cherry Hard CandyWaxahatchee - FireThe Weather Station - Airportwaterbaby, ttoth - Beck n CallTame Impala - No ReplyLauren Auder - yesOliver Sim - ObsessionRadiohead - Everything In It's Right PlaceSudan Archives - SHE’S GOT PAINSofia Kourtesis, Caribou - UnidosMiguel - CAOSROSALÍA, Yves Tumor, Björk - BerghainRomy - Love Who You Loveunderscores - Do ItFred again.., Skrillex, Four Tet - Baby again..Magdalena Bay - Black-Eyed Susan ClimbSpiritual Cramp, Sharon Van Etten - You’ve Got My NumberWolf Alice - Bloom Baby BloomNothing - cannibal worldDepresión Sonora - Cómo Será Vivir en el CampoJust Mustard - WE WERE JUST HERENation of Language - Under the WaterNatalia Lacunza - SINGAPURMaria Arnal - AMAAmaia - AralarEscuchar audio

Fashion highlights include archival Alexander McQueen Fall 2002 shredded dress, Spring 2003 rosary sandals, Givenchy Spring 1997 fringed top, and Balenciaga Spring 2004 cutout piece, curated by José Carayol to evoke holiness and reincarnation. Playlist:my bloody valentine - when you sleepTriángulo de Amor Bizarro - Asmr para TiWhirr - Collect SadnessMitski - NobodyLorde - Homemade DynamiteSky Ferreira - Everything Is EmbarrassingJungle, Channel Tres - I’ve Been In LoveAminé - VacayDisclosure, Sasha Keable - VoicesJamie xx - GirlThe Chemical Brothers - The BoxerFat Dog - RunningKlaxons - Atlantis To InterzoneNatalia Lacunza - SINGAPURrestinga - CashCashAMORE - I Gotta FeelingFred again.., Caribou, MC Teteu - Facilita Sega Bodega, Judeline - PIKIFcukers - I Like It Like ThatMac DeMarco - HolyΣtella - AdagioHayley Williams - Good Ol’ DaysLaufey - Lover GirlThe Beths - No JoyMilitarie Gun - Thought You Were WavingDeftones - i think about you all the timeSen Senra - Por Si VuelveCarlos Ares - La Boca del LoboROSALÍA, Björk, Yves Tumor - BerghainBjörk - NotgetSwimming Paul, Alecc Crisostomo - Still FadingBICEP - CHROMA 010 BRILLOAlice Wonder - xii. L'Rain's Taja Cheek and Ben Chapoteau-Katz on Hockey, Vacations, Radiohead, and the Mysterious Allure of the Saxophone “I Like the Idea of a Basic Bitch Album”: L'Rain, in Conversation With Marlon James 曲目单: (01:15) Keane - Your Eyes Open (04:37) Nourished By Time - Hell of A Ride (08:41) 阿力普 - Way Gulmiding (你是花蕾) (12:56) Kelsey Lu, Yves Tumor - let all the poisons that lurk in the mud seep out (16:38) Daniel Avery - Citizen // Nowhere (20:23) L'Rain - Pet Rock (29:26) L'Rain - I Killed Your Dog (34:36) L'Rain - Monsoon of Regret + Clumsy (41:56) L'Rain - All the Days You Remember (42:30) L'Rain - Oh Wow, a Bird! + Knead Bee (46:42) L'Rain - 5 to 8 Hours a Day (WWwaG) (54:54) L'Rain - New Year's UnResolution L'Rain 专访: (23:51) 三位影响 Taja Cheek 最深的音乐人; (32:45) "I Killed Your Dog" 是一种演绎; (38:34) 什么是 "basic bitch album"? While Bonnaroo and Big Ears Festival take place three months and 150 miles apart, both events were created by Knoxville native Ashley Capps. Plus, both festivals have become known for their diverse lineups and their unofficial status as music discovery festivals. Knox News journalists Ryan Wilusz and Brianna Paciorka, who have regularly attended both festivals over the years, dive into the respective lineups to share their top picks from both bills. Listen as they discuss why each of their most anticipated artists are must-sees and why anyone on the fence about purchasing tickets should plan to attend. Protect yourself: There's a chance you'll catch Chad's illness simply by listening to this episode. An episode in which he tries to recap a number of elements of the book—the 2333 game, the louse, wildwording—to Kaija Straumanis amid coughing fits and a dissolving brain. He also shares the most bizarre dream he's ever had, which is something else. This week's music is "Gospel for a New Century" by Yves Tumor. Whose 2023 album, Praise a Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds) is quite brilliant. Et pourquoi peut-on y entendre le vieux tube « Talking in your sleep » ? Quel nouveau duo a imaginé Jean-Michel Jarre ?
Detroit based multi Grammy nominated and two time Grammy winning mixer, producer, musician, and engineer Collin Dupuis has developed a sought after sound over the last fifteen years working with critically acclaimed artists and projects including Yves Tumor, Angel Olsen, Lana Del Rey, St. Vincent, Dr. John, The Black Keys, Ray LaMontange, Richard Swift, and many others. Beginning his career playing in bands, running a DIY recording studio in Michigan, and doing tech work around the Detroit area, he quickly found himself working at FBT (The Bass Brothers) studio as an assistant engineer. Working there, he cut his teeth working with artists and producers of the likes of Mr. Porter, Eminem, Pharoahe Monch, and many more. Working at FBT studios along with working in the tech shop at Vintage King Audio helped to develop a deep understanding of studio work both technically and sonically. This knowledge helped him make connections and bridge the gap into the rock and electronic worlds of the Detroit music scene. He soon got a call to set up a studio at Jack White's house and help out on the White Stripes' “Get Behind Me Satan.” Shortly after that, Collin was hired at Carl Craig's Planet-E records. He engineered for the next five years alongside Carl on remixes, production, live sound in Europe, mastering, and mixing. Collin next got the call from Dan Auerbach to help him get his Akron studio up and running. This led to a move to Nashville and many critically acclaimed albums working as the lead engineer at Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound. During his time at Easy Eye Sound he earned a Grammy win for engineering and mixing Dr. John's “Locked Down”. Along with a Grammy win for engineering Cage The Elephants “Tell Me I Pretty”. Currently, Collin is busy working and living in Detroit, MI. as a freelance musician, mixer and engineer, producing, recording, and mixing albums for artists including Yves Tumor, Angel Olsen, Lawrence Rothman, Special Interest, Boy and Bear, and many others. Along with playing in and co-creating with his band Zoos of Berlin. IN THIS EPISODE, YOU'LL LEARN ABOUT: Saying “yes” to every opportunity Being an entrepreneur vs. following a traditional engineer/assistant path Setting goals for your career Knowing when you are a good fit for a client The hierarchy of what matters during tracking Focusing on the feelings of the musicians vs. the sound of the record Getting the most out of untreated studio spaces Committing ideas for the sake of preserving your intentions Embracing bleed in your recordings How to fix bleed in your mixes Dialling in reverbs right from the beginning of a session How to eliminate “s” sounds from taking over your reverbs Notable gear mentioned in this episode: Audient EVO SP8: https://sweetwater.sjv.io/Or5L9Q SE Microphones: https://sweetwater.sjv.io/DK1Mbj To learn more about Collin Dupuis, visit: https://www.collindupuis.com/ For tips on how to improve your mixes, visit https://masteryourmix.com/ Looking for 1-on-1 feedback and training to help you create pro-quality mixes? In a conversation with Alternative Press Editor in Chief Anna Zanes, Benji and Joel Madden reflect on the different eras of Good Charlotte — and what has allowed them to create enduring businesses, as well as maintain longevity as musicians. “I think that the idea that always comes to my mind about everything that we do or have done — the theme of what injured us, what we thought was our weakness, what our trauma was — always ends up being our strength,” Joel says of the band. Check out the Fall 2023 issue of Alternative Press for this episode's companion cover story. Bill Kouligas is the mind behind one of modern electronic music's greatest and most innovative labels, PAN. His remarkable ear for music meant that he released some of the earliest records from luminaries like Yves Tumor, Helena Hauff and Eartheater, helping to jumpstart several remarkable careers. And each PAN release is lovingly and lavishly packaged like an art object in itself, an approach you can read more about in this month's feature-length cover story. The Berlin artist's RA Podcast is an audio companion to that cover story, and it underlines not only Kouligas's range as a label A&R but also as a DJ. Reflecting the label's evolution from straight-up noise to musique concréte to leftfield dance music and then avant-pop, the mix cycles through stages of strange, staggered beats, almost celestial ambient music, passages of overwhelming noise and sound that sublimate into floating clouds before solidifying back into club music, and a couple engaging spoken word passages and endless manipulations of the human voice. In other words, it sounds a lot like PAN. @pan_hq Read more at https://ra.co/podcast/880
In this week's Indiecast, Ian and Steve share their thoughts on two new albums. The first is Yves Tumor's long-winded album Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds) (yes, that's the full album title), which is not quite experimental enough to be avant-garde but not quite catchy enough to be a pop record (44:40). The second is Black Country, New Road's Live At Bush Hall, an album recorded after the band's lead singer departed (53:11).But before they get into the meat of the episode, Steve and Ian dive into Ticketmaster's latest controversy and how it's kinda, sorta, but not really surprising how quickly The Cure's tour sold out (21:53). They briefly recap SXSW and a certain viral artist who people accused of “quiet quitting” during her set (1:30). Plus, in honor of Steve's list of the 100 best debut albums, they talk about which albums didn't make the cut (31:37).In this week's Recommendation Corner (1:03:36), Ian shouts out the memoir Stay True by Hua Hsu. Meanwhile, Steve gives props to Dazy's power pop EP Otherbody.New episodes of Indiecast drop every Friday. Listen to Episode 131 here and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Today's Song of the Day is "Echolalia" from Yves Tumor's album, Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds), out March 17th.Yves Tumor will be performing at First Avenue on Saturday, May 13th.
Yves Tumor - Echolalia from the 2023 album Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds) on Warp. Genre-bending visionary Yves Tumor is set to release their fourth full-length Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds) on March 17th and the anticipation couldn't be higher. After breaking through in a big way with their acclaimed 2020 record Heaven To A Tortured Mind, Tumor has been proving their rock god excellence through their expertly crafted blend of rock, psychedelia, R&B, and electronica as well as their larger-than-life androgynous stage persona. The second single off the album, released in February, is our Song of the Day “Echolalia.” Led by syncopated drumming and a buzzing guitar riff, the song churns with momentum as Tumor sings of an all-consuming kind of love to a person referred to as “God” and the madness a love like this provokes. Meanwhile, the spoken-word interlude advises against this. “If you say you love me and you, like, your happiness only depends on me, it might not be true love. Maybe it's something you need and you want, but you think it's love, it's not love.” The song comes with a striking video directed by Jordan Hemmingway which leans on a Gulliver's Travels-type theme, with a team of tiny Tumors taking down one giant one. Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds) is produced by Noah Goldstein (Frank Ocean, Rosalía, Drake, Rihanna, Bon Iver), and mixed by Alan Moulder (My Bloody Valentine, Nine Inch Nails). It also features contributions from Chris Greatti (Yungblud, WILLOW), Yves Rothman (Girlpool, Amaarae) and Rhys Hastings. Yves Tumor is kicking off their world tour at Coachella this year, so it's time to get prepared. If you're up for a boundless sound that's both experimental and electronic, you'll find it in “Echolalia,” out ahead of their new album, Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds), which drops in March.
Yves Tumor - "God Is A Circle," a 2022 single on Warp. Shortly after the end of spooky season, Yves Tumor dropped the chilling single “God Is A Circle” to the delight of the many fans who have been gripped by the Turin-based artist's enigmatic take on glam rock. The single follows last year's EP The Asymptotical World and 2020's full-length Heaven To a Tortured Mind. Produced by Noah Goldstein (Frank Ocean, Arcade Fire), and mixed by Alan Moulder (My Bloody Valentine, Nine Inch Nails), the song is built upon a beat of labored breaths for a moody post-punk-indebted rocker that features squelching guitars, fuzzed-out bass, and desperate shrieks. Swedish electronic artist Ecco2K and Lebanon-born artist Thoom bestow backing vocals as Yves Tumor sings about detachment and strained relationships, “There's places in my mind that I cannot go / There's people in my life I still don't know.” The song is paired perfectly with a campy horror-movie-style video by Jordan Hemmingway which adds to the ominous feel of the song.
