We live in an age of soft nihilism — not a philosophy consciously embraced, but a drift into passivity, presuming on tomorrow, waiting for the perfect moment that never arrives. Drawing from Ecclesiastes 11, Pastor Ben shows that Solomon's repeated refrain of vanity is not a counsel of despair but a clarion call to action: because life is uncertain, tomorrow is not guaranteed, and outcomes rest with a sovereign God, the right response is not paralysis but bold, faith-filled engagement today. Like William Borden, who sowed broadly and died at 25 never knowing the harvest his obedience would yield, we are called to give, serve, invest, and risk — leaving the outcome entirely to God.Eastland is a Place to BelongEastland Baptist Church is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A new NPR investigation has revealed that the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) appears to have withheld and even removed dozens of pages from the public database of documents released under the Epstein Files Transparency Act that relate to **sexual abuse allegations involving President Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein. According to NPR, records tied to FBI interviews and notes from conversations with a woman who claims Trump sexually abused her as a minor are absent from the public archive, even though evidence suggests those pages were catalogued and should have been released. Some materials where Trump's name is mentioned were temporarily taken down and re-uploaded, and others remain unreleased, raising serious questions about whether the DOJ is fully complying with the law requiring transparency about the investigation.Critics argue that this selective release and redaction undermines public trust in the Justice Department's handling of the Epstein files and appears to protect Trump from scrutiny despite his extensive mentions in the records — Trump's name appears in tens of thousands of documents in the Epstein archive. Observers say the DOJ's actions, combined with Trump's repeated denials of wrongdoing and claims of “total exoneration,” have shielded him from accountability even as other figures tied to Epstein — such as Peter Mandelson — face arrest and legal exposure abroad. This has fueled criticism that the DOJ is more interested in managing political optics than in complete transparency or justice for survivors, weakening confidence in how elite connections to Epstein are investigated.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:DOJ removed, withheld Epstein files related to accusations about Trump : NPRBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

The Metal Maniacs Podcast

In Episode 154 of the Metal Maniacs Podcast, host Jay Ingersoll sits down with Michigan metal veterans Withhold The Blood to break down over 16 years of grinding through the underground scene. From their early inception around 2010 to their latest 2026 single Nation of Fallacy, this episode dives deep into evolution, persistence, and crushing riffs. We talk about the current lineup featuring Jesse (vocals), Eli (drums), and Brandon (guitar), and how the band has stayed alive through lineup changes, limited online presence, and years between releases. Despite the chaos, the passion for heavy music never left.We revisit their early work including the 2014 EP Detached From Reality, featuring long-form songwriting, massive riffs, and vocal highs reminiscent of Randy Blythe. Tracks like “The Chosen” and “Eye For Misery” showcase their early blend of groove, melody, and raw aggression. Then we dig into 2018's Aberration, where the band leveled up—introducing heavier tones, tighter production, double bass intensity, and stronger deathcore influences. Songs like “Impulse to Kill,” “Broken Dreams,” and “Empty Confessions” highlight their growth in songwriting, rhythm, and technicality.Their newest release, “Nation of Fallacy” (2026), pushes even further—leaning harder into deathcore with relentless vocals, sharp melodic experimentation, and standout guitar work. This track feels like a natural evolution of Aberration while carving a heavier, more refined identity. We also cover:The band's origin and what kept them going for over a decadeLineup changes including past drummers like Levi Smith, Gary Swaggerty, and Mike MillerTheir writing process, riff development, and solo decisionsProduction approach, tone, gear, and tuning choicesLive shows, touring history (including 2019 runs), and recent gigs with VestigialPractice routines and collaboration dynamicsLife outside music, gaming, and influences they're listening to nowWhat's next for Withhold The BloodThis is a must-listen for fans of metalcore, deathcore, groove metal, and underground heavy music culture.

Senators have unanimously agreed to a resolution that would withhold their paychecks during future government shutdowns. The bipartisan resolution comes amid increasingly longer and more frequent shutdowns. Historically, lawmakers continue getting paid during a funding lapse, while many federal employees have to endure the financial strain of missed paychecks. Have you ever noticed that the more you achieve, the less your partner or family member seems to notice? High-conflict personalities often withhold compliments and validation as a calculated move to keep you feeling "less than."In this Live, I'm pulling back the curtain from the inside out to show you why they refuse to acknowledge your wins. We'll discuss the power dynamics behind the silence and how you can stop the cycle of hungering for validation from someone who will never give it.It's time to reclaim your value and realize that their silence says more about their need for control than it does about your worth.Connect with Lee:My Courses: https://courses.mentalhealness.net 1-on-1 Coaching Calls: https://link.me/mentalhealnessAll My Link: https://beacons.page/mentalhealness Follow on Instagram/TikTok: @mentalhealnesssIf this episode helped you gain clarity, please leave a 5-star review on Spotify! 00:00 Welcome to the program on a beautiful Monday afternoon. I tell you what, it is gorgeous out there today. Kind of warm. Going to get a little colder this weekend though. We'll keep you updated on that. Well, as you slept overnight, you woke up this morning and probably saw what was going on with gas prices. They have really, really gone up. Gas hit 00:26 I believe overnight about oil hit overnight about $120 a barrel. And then it kind of leveled off, if you will, to about $106 a barrel. Now, the sweet spot on this, I was talking to somebody today and they said, we need to get oil down to about $55 a barrel. And I was like, yeah, that's not a good thing. Now it sounds good at the pump. $55 barrel gas, that sounds like a great thing. 00:55 But for the oil industry, that is not a good thing because that's the point where they stop all of the exploration. They stop looking for new sources and that leads to other problems. So the sweet spot is right around 60 to $65 a barrel. That's where we want it. That means we are saving enough at the pump to where it's not affecting our lives all that much. And the oil companies, 01:25 they now have the money that they need to go do the exploration. Okay, so there is a sweet spot there, but it went up to $120 a barrel last night. And then, like I said, it came down to $106. I will tell you a little bit of a reason why for that coming up in just a few minutes. well, might as well go ahead and tell you now. President Trump not very happy about Israel bombing these oil depots over in Iran. 01:56 Trump didn't want the oil touched. In fact, there was supposed to be a summit between the United States and Israel and Donald Trump said, yeah, we're not talking. I'm not talking to you right now. I'm miffed. I've got a midterm elections coming up and I've got gas prices over $3 a gallon again. That is not what I wanted. So apparently Israel took it upon themselves to bomb these depots and 02:22 That was just an absolute, it was unbelievable to see some of that video over the weekend. But just looking around here locally at some of the best gas prices around, Sam's Club, $2.95, Red Star, up in Marietta, $2.96, the BP on Cedar Lane Road, $2.97, the Costco, $2.99 at Costco, the BP, $2.99. 02:50 Harry's quick shop 299 X and that's seeming to be in the Greenville area about what it is 299 now if we go over to do do do do do just go over to um Go back here and check. I'm looking at gas buddy right now To try to find some of these gas prices. But anyway, we know and the president knows That none of this looks good for the midterm 03:20 Now they were talking about six to eight more weeks or they were talking about six more weeks of this war going on. There was a poll that came out not long ago that said if this war goes for longer than eight weeks, Donald Trump and the Republicans are going to absolutely sink in the polls. If he can pull this thing off in less than eight weeks, then he gets a huge bump from the American people in the polling. 03:48 A lot of people don't understand how all of this works. This bump in gas prices, a lot of people think that the United States is running out of oil and that's just not the way it is. The US is currently, and this is hard to believe, but the US is currently the largest oil producer in the world. Now, everything that's going on is economic. 04:13 20 % of the world's oil normally passes through the Strait of Hormuz, 20%. And when that route is disrupted during a conflict, global markets, they automatically react. Now, oil is priced globally. So even when we produce our own energy, a global supply shock, that'll push prices up everywhere. Then buyers around the world, they start competing for alternative supplies of oil, including American-produced oil. 04:43 which actually drives prices a little bit higher. Now remember, markets always react first and then they stabilize. The nature of the market is to overreact to everything. Everything they ove ...

But what about the small good that's already in your hand?In Proverbs 3:27, we're told not to withhold good when it's in our power to act. That means encouragement when someone needs it. Payment when it's owed. Forgiveness when you could stay bitter. A kind word when silence would be easier.

Can a Camp Withhold Payment from a Worker If His Father Owes Them Money?Rav Baruch FriedQuestion: A bochur spent a summer working in a camp. At the end of the summer, he goes over to the director and asks for his pay. The director informs the boy that his father still owes the camp money, so he is withholding his paycheck to cover the balance, and he should feel free to ask his father to pay him directly. Can the camp do that?Answer: First of all, it is definitely not a good way to be mechanech. The camp's justification may be based on Shibudah d'Rebbi Nosson. The director could be saying we owe you money and your father owes us money, so you can get your payment from him. That is clearly wrong. Shibudah d'Rebbi Nosson means that if someone owes you money and that person doesn't have money to pay, the creditor can go to a person who owes the debtor money to collect from him instead. It does not mean that a debtor who does have money to pay can tell his creditor that he isn't going to pay him because someone else owes him money and he should go collect from that person instead.  If the camp's argument is that the son's wages actually belong to his father, that might be a better claim. There is a big machlokes amongst the Rishonim regarding whether a father has the right to the wages of his adult child who are being supported by him. The Rema rules that he does. Accordingly, the camp may claim that since the son's wages really belong to his father, and his father owes the camp money, they are keeping those wages as payment for the money they are owed. The counterclaim to that would be that the father's right to the son's wages is not a din d'ohraysa. Rather, it is a takanas chochomim that was put in place to prevent eivah, i.e. if the father is supporting his son, and the son is making money and keeping it for himself, this could lead to enmity from the father towards the son. Therefore, the chochomim decreed that the son's earnings can be claimed by the father.  Since this is a takanas chochomim for the father's benefit, so long as he is not interested in taking possession of the son's wages, they rightfully belong to the son. Thus, it would seem that the boy would have the right to take the camp to a din Torah to demand his paycheck. Questions? Comments? We love feedback! Email us at info@baishavaad.org

Truths Inspiring Me About Confidence and Character — A Conversation with My Son Sometimes the most convicting spiritual lessons don't come from a sermon. They come from hearing a child say something honest— something simple— and realizing God is speaking through it.  And as you listen to this conversation about habits, confidence, and walking with Jesus, you may feel that gentle nudge to return to what's true.  Lean into that. Because your habits are always taking you somewhere. And the small choices you make today shape who you become tomorrow. You Don't Drift Into Confidence You might think confidence is a personality trait. Something you either have or you don't. But confidence is rarely about personality. It's about formation. It's about what you repeatedly do. When you build habits that align with truth — reading Scripture, practicing gratitude, caring for your body, choosing honesty — something steady begins forming inside of you. Not hype. Not ego. Not loud self-assertion. But quiet strength. And the opposite is also true. When you repeatedly avoid truth, bend honesty, indulge jealousy, or neglect your health, that forms something too. And eventually, that formation becomes your character. You don't wake up one day confident or insecure by accident. You drift there — one habit at a time. What You Feed Your Mind Shapes Your Identity If you only occasionally open your Bible, what fills the gap? Your worries. Your spouse's tone. Your insecurities. The voice in your head that says you're not enough. But when you consistently feed your mind the truth of Scripture, something changes. You begin to live from being cared for. Not striving for approval. Not grasping for validation. But anchored in being loved. You cannot feel confident if you don't believe you are deeply cared for. And that belief doesn't grow accidentally. It grows through repetition. Gratitude Rewires Your Perspective If you only focus on what you don't have, you will start to believe you have nothing. You will compare. You will resent. You will feel behind. And even when you do get what you wanted, it won't satisfy you — because comparison has already shaped your lens. But when you practice gratitude — intentionally naming what is good — you retrain your heart to see abundance. You begin to notice: God has been kind. God has provided. God has not left you alone. Gratitude doesn't ignore pain. It simply refuses to let pain define the whole story. And that builds stability. That builds joy. That builds confidence rooted in truth rather than circumstance. Your Body Matters More Than You Think You are not "just a soul." You are embodied. Jesus didn't come as a concept. He came in flesh. Your body is not accidental. It is not disposable. Scripture calls it a temple of the Holy Spirit. When you neglect your body — through constant exhaustion, poor nourishment, or silent self-criticism — you aren't just affecting your health. You are shaping how you see yourself. And when you care for your body — even in small ways — you are saying: "This matters. God's creation matters." Confidence grows when you respect what God has given you. Not in pride. But in stewardship. The Habit That Quietly Undermines Everything Let's talk about honesty. You may not consider yourself a liar. But do you exaggerate to seem more impressive? Withhold truth to avoid discomfort? Bend the story to protect your image? Lies feel small in the moment. But every time you tell one, something inside you weakens. Because you know the truth. Even if no one else does — you do. And when you repeatedly override your own integrity, you slowly erode your own confidence. You cannot feel strong while betraying yourself. Real confidence is inseparable from integrity. And integrity requires courage — especially when no one is watching. God Delights in Integrity Zephaniah says something stunning: "The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing." -Zephaniah 3:17 ESV But just before that, it speaks of a people who refuse deceit, who walk humbly, who seek the Lord. "Yes, I will punish those who participate in pagan worship ceremonies, and those who fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit." -Zephaniah 1:9 NLT God delights in truth. God delights in humility. God delights in integrity. Not because He is demanding perfection — but because integrity aligns you with how you were created to live. When you choose honesty. When you confess sin. When you turn from a habit that weakens you — even if you fail again tomorrow — you are stepping toward freedom. You are stepping toward formation. And God delights in that movement. You Are Not Stuck If you're listening and thinking: "I have bad habits." "I've let things slide." "I don't like who I've been becoming." Hear this clearly: You are not stuck. Habits can be unlearned. Patterns can be interrupted. Integrity can be rebuilt. Start small. Choose one habit. One verse. One act of gratitude. One moment of honesty. Repeat it. Push through the discomfort. Because the first time you choose differently, it will feel awkward. The fifth time, it will feel possible. The fiftieth time, it will feel like you. The Person You're Becoming You are always becoming someone. Not someday. Today. Your habits are forming the atmosphere of your home. Your habits are shaping your marriage. Your habits are influencing how your children see faith. Your habits are determining how you see yourself. So lean into that gentle nudge. Not with shame. But with resolve. You don't need dramatic reinvention. You need daily alignment. And when you choose small, faithful obedience — again and again — you will wake up one day and realize: You didn't just build better habits. You built stronger character. And from that character, real confidence grew. And that kind of confidence? It cannot be shaken. Is he bound to come and dwell with them that have an aversion to him, and choose to keep at a distance from him, and fly from him as one that is hateful to them? Even should you desire the salvation of your soul, is God bound to comply with your desires, when you always resist and oppose his will?
