In this episode, Jiavani tells us how fun it was to make the Between Two Ferns movie with Zach Galifianakis. We use the magic of musical improv to shine a light on the county fair in Puyallup, Washington. We have nothing but kind words to say about Keanu Reeves. We find out about Jiavani's role in the new Reno 911! And we cast Kid Cudi, Reggie Watts, and Weird Al Yankovic in tasteful musical reboots of classic films.
Kay and Quincy are joined by their funny friend Jiavani. Quincy drops the epic reveal that Guardians of the Galaxy has overtaken Incredible Hulk as her favorite. Not only did she cry twice, but she delves deep into the meaning of Groot's organic matter. Kay shares her Parks and Recreation fandom and her love for Chris Pratt's hilarious, fresh version of a Marvel hero. Quincy's citizen take deems Ronan as a nerd who needs to make friends, Kay incorrectly deems Ronan as a child of Thanos and Jiavani comes for Lee Pace's performance but appreciates how he embraced his crusty makeup. They also sing their praises for the supporting cast and their hunger for more of Gamora's backstory. Then they stretch and share about hilly walks, getting vaccinated via motorcycle and stepping in cat poo. Finally, they dive into a colorful makeup conclusion as they tackle advanced eyeshadow and the cut crease. Jiavani shows off her skincare tools and brush collection while sharing Quincy's love for mochi donuts. Then Kay recalls using makeup boxes for stationary as she uses her colors in the wrong order and buffs outside of her eyeline.Instagram: @MarvelandMakeupTwitter: @MarvelandMakeupYouTube: Marvel and Makeup PodcastInquiries: marvelandmakeuppod@gmail.comFollow Quincy and KayQuincy: Instagram | TwitterKay: Instagram | TwitterFollow Jiavani Linayao: InstagramMusic by Clarence Yapp. Artwork by Patty Lin Hosted on Acast. this week we’re with one of our favorites, the hilarious, kind, brilliant and gorgeous Jiavani Linayao ! Jiavani is a queer Black and Filipino actor, singer, writer and comic who co-produces the GaysianAF show at UCB, has hit on Jon Hamm in Between Two Ferns the movie, and has given us the musical origin story of Buffalo Wild Wings through SHUFFLE OFF TO BUFFALO: THE MUSICAL on @offbookpod. Needless to say Jiavani is the best, and this conversation about being queer, what its like being visibly queer Black and Filpino, what its like not being visibly Asian, the importance of representation and trying to survive quarantine is a joy, and so healing. Its like tucking in with a cup of tea and a best friend, so come hang out with us and tell us what stuffed animals youre quarantined with!
