Jody Mills is a leader within the Chapel Hill and Durham, NC F3 men's workout group and a friend who I have witnessed first-hand leading well under stressful circumstances during a couple of endurance events we completed together. His work as the Associate Director of Commercial Insights, Learning & Development at Corcept Therapeutics has also convinced him of the importance of focusing on the needs and concerns of others in stressful times. Whether he is leading a high-stakes work project, family emergency, or leading a group during a 12+ hour endurance event, he often challenges himself with questions such as "do others understand the plan? Have I communicated the plan well? Do they feel safe? Have I earned their trust as a leader?" This week Steph and Ally get fan mail (trust us, we're baffled too), a tornado warning disrupts the show, and when all that's done we talk about season 7 episodes two and three. In episode two, 'Hello, Cruel World' Sam's hallucinations of Lucifer are getting more intense as he wonders what's real and what's not. The Leviathans take Cas into a public water supply where he blows up and they start taking people over. Dean tries to help his brother, while Bobby helps out Steph's favorite sheriff, Jody Mills. In episode three, 'The Girl Next Door', the Winchesters and Bobby are staying at Rufus's cabin trying to figure out how to fight the Leviathans and Dean is holed up with a broken leg. Firefly alum Jewel Staite plays a kitsune that Sam knew growing up. This episode was directed by Jensen Ackles and is full of flashback fun times. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) drop in on Jody Mills (guest star Kim Rhodes), Claire (guest star Kathryn Newton) and Alex (guest star Katherine Ramdine) after receiving a panicked phone call from Claire.  She believes the recent murders in town are supernatural and wants the boys’ help.  However, Sheriff Mills tells Sam and Dean that Claire has been getting into trouble lately as she’s been attacking normal people and accusing them of being monsters.  Stefan Pleszczynski directed the episode written by Nancy Won (#1112).

Jody Mills (guest star Kim Rhodes) reluctantly attends a mandatory sheriff’s retreat and is partnered with an overeager sheriff named Donna (guest star Briana Buckmaster) who wants to bond. Just as Jody thinks things can’t get any worse, a body with just strings of meat and skin hanging off the bones is discovered.  While the local sheriffs blame an animal attack, Jody knows better and calls Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles).  Tim Andrew directed this episode with teleplay by Jenny Klein and story by Jenny Klein & Phil Sgriccia.
