Special Guest Megan Knorpp, of the YouTube channel Knorpp and South shares with us some of the joys and fears of living her good story.ABOUT MEGAN KNORPPNearly a decade ago she and her husband decided that being afraid wasn’t a good enough reason not to do something. If she couldn’t come up with any other reason but fear keeping us from a dream, then we had to jump in and do it. Following that philosophy has taken her life from normal to amazing. She brought 9 children into her family both through birth and adoption, built a successful business, traveled the U.S. in a RV, and traveled the globe, and now they are building a not so tiny house. A little about our guests. Mike and Megan met in college at Brigham Young University. They are married and have been together for 16 years and in business for 5 years. Mike grew up in Meridian, Idaho and went to BYU to study family therapy. Realizing that family therapy was not a good fit (but he uses his education every day in their large family) he has been a window washer, in construction, in computer sales and now works with Megan. Mike enjoys, running, hiking and hanging out with Megan. Megan grew up near Houston, Texas and studied filmmaking at Brigham Young. Megan loves being a mom to her 9 children, five are adopted from China. She loves good food, traveling and hiking and, of course, hanging out with Mike. Megan was a photographer, has had several blogs and has graphic prints on ETSY.com. A little about their business. Megan is the original entrepreneur in the family. Most recently, she started with a network marketing company and built it to a point where Mike came on board with her. From that experience, Mike and Megan created Knorpp and South and began sharing their experiences on You tube. Their YouTube channel has become their business and the channel, Knorpp and South, chronicles their travels with their 9 children in an RV around the country. One piece of advice (the nutshell version) No matter what you do, something new can be scary. Scary and negative is part of it, so don’t stop because of fear. Fear means you are going in the right direction. Reading Material Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill - http://amzn.to/2d2hpGD Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Welcome to episode #269 of Six Pixels Of Separation - The Twist Image Podcast. If you have never heard an episode of The Beancast podcast with Bob Knorpp, stop listening to this and pop over to check out (at least) one of his episodes. Along with being a writer for Ad Age, Knorpp's Beancast is a staple in the advertising industry news diet. Each week he grabs a handful of very diverse advertising luminaries and digs down deep into the current hot topics (I've had the pleasure of being a guest on a handful of episodes - the non-luminary ones, no doubt). In this episodes we discuss everything from the merits of audio podcasting to the current state of advertising and if true marketing integration is happening or if we're still stuck in a world filled with sucky 30-second spots.
