Peace! https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=5E6WCP8KAS4NG Anyone who hears lo-fi hip hop music for the first time, whatever the format, immediately feels a sense of community. That's how Toni Blackman, musician, artist, teacher and hip-hop's first ambassador to the U.S. State Department, felt when she first heard it decades ago. "I felt like I had found home," she says, recalling wondering, "if there are other artists who feel the same way I do, who feel the way I do? In addition to a sense of belonging, experts say the appeal of lo-fi hip hop music lies in the music itself - how the tunes feel and what they remind us of." Lo-Fi music can fit all genres of music, as the term refers to is recorded music (low-fidelity). This includes ambient sounds , such as children playing outside or the rustling of papers. These can be combined with other "natural sounds that give the feeling of music coming through walls," says Elliot Gann, a psychologist and executive director of Today's Future Sound, an organization that brings therapeutic beat-making and listening to after-school programs. Born in 1997 in Kloetinge, the Netherlands, Pim Sebastiaan de Jonge (Sebastian Kamae) began his journey at just 5 years old, when he had his first music lessons. Quickly, he discovered his love for the piano and in high school began producing and making beats. While developing his skills, Kamae played in several bands. He then decided to study MediaMusic at ArtEZ and graduated as a Bachelor of Arts in 2018 in music production, composition, and audio engineering. In the fall of 2017, he landed an internship in Chicago at SoundScape Studios, where he had the opportunity to work and connect with artists such as Kweku Collins, Femdot, Khary, Ajani Jones, Jack Red, Qari, Melo Makes Music & many more. Sebastian Kamae released his first album, Waves, on June 27, 2018. A few singles followed and his first instrumental EP Wired was released in December 2018. He signed a publishing deal with Cloud 9 Music and is now involved in music full-time mainly in the Netherlands and the United States. His second album Enjoy the Ride was recorded mostly in Chicago and was released in November 2019. Producer oddCOUPLE aka Zach Henderson had a revelation that his life is supposed to be about creating music and whatever has to happen will happen and has happened to make this a reality. His work with artists like Chance the Rapper, Jamila Woods and Joey Purp has helped to establish him as a producer to be reckoned with, pulling the best out of those artists to make their visions come to life. Now he's releasing his third album Reflections with features from Jamila Woods, theMIND and Kweku Collins and it's already making waves and is a powerful reminder of the creative talents of this man. Pitchfork and Spin and XXL mag already spilled the beans on oddCOUPLE. Music lovers!   Once again, I am releasing a podcast on my birthday. You know, it is just one of those few times these days when I get some free time and I can't think of a better way to spend it than sharing great music. I am particullarly stoked on this mix. It covers a wide range of styles while attempting to maintain a consistent vibe/feel. It's all based around the Hidden Orchestra track "Still". From the first time I heard that piece, I knew I needed it featured prominently on the podcast but it is so unique! How to fit other songs around it? Well, that's the question this podcast answers. Enjoy.   Link to video from Apogee Session with the xx. Such an incredible experience getting to be there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7Jr2iGpbz8   Thanks for listening and don't forget to support the artists.   Aaron     Tracklist (links to buy) 1.Trust the Sun by Elbow on Little Fictions 2.Politely by Tony Allen on A Tribute To Art Blakey And The Jazz Messengers 3.Still by Hidden Orchestra on Dawn Chorus 4.Tell Me the Truth by Låpsley on Long Way Home 5.Sleep Sound by Jamie xx on Girl/Sleep Sound 6.Hunger by Tropics on Rapture 7.Migration by Bonobo on Migration 8.Ghost by Kweku Collins on Ghost 9.Hello Clouds ft.
