For the 100th episode of their show "How We Heard It," the podcast team is giving you the music artists who give 100 percent. Musicians are like any other group of workers. Some are tireless - endlessly productive, relentlessly creative or both. Others fill the status quo, doing what might be expected, sometimes a little more and sometimes a little less. Still others are just plain lazy, pushing their work off on others, making excuses why they can't do more and invariably disappointing their supporters, time and time again. It's not about talent, it's about effort. This week "How We Heard It" is all about effort. While other artists might knock out a new album every few years, these artists are producing twice that output. Or while other artists are sticking to their established style (same themes, same sound), these super-producers are constantly exploring new ways to express themselves, tweaking and reinventing their art as they go and challenging their followers to keep up. The same goes for live shows: Some artists are constantly on tour, giving their all on stage night after night. Others rarely tour - and when they do, they just phone it in. Not surprisingly, effort and success don't exactly overlap. (Life is never fair, is it?) Some of the most ordinary artists generate the biggest sales, draw the most fans and win the most awards while some extraordinary artists struggle on the edge of obscurity. Yet every now and then, the brightest and hardest working artists will be among the most popular. Where do your favorites rank? "How We Heard It" takes a look at everyone from Bob Dylan and Elton John to Kenny Chesney and Adele to Taylor Swift and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Their conclusions might surprise you.

In this episode, Trackstack co-founders Cameron and George Perry pull back the curtain on what Trackstack is really becoming. Not just a demo submission tool, but a complete operating system for building a sustainable career in electronic music. They get into the honest truth about what it actually takes to go from making tracks in your bedroom to becoming a working artist: why your first 100 pro fans matter more than chasing the biggest DJs, how to build your network city by city, and why doing it with the people around you beats doing it alone. They also walk through the full Trackstack product suite — Inbox, Studio, Elevate, and the brand new Store — and explain how each one maps to a different stage of the artist journey. Studio is getting a major rebuild away from music education and towards genuine community building. Elevate opens up a marketplace for production coaching, mixing, and mastering. And the Store means no track ever has to disappear into a private SoundCloud link again.Plus — what's coming up at IMS Ibiza and what the rest of 2026 looks like for Trackstack.Chapters:0:00 – What is Trackstack OS?2:40 – Being an artist vs. having a career7:00 – The real purpose of Inbox10:30 – Why your city matters more than the biggest DJs15:30 – Studio rebuilt19:30 – Elevate: the artist services marketplace34:00 – The Store: a home for every track you make40:00 – IMS and what's nextConnect with Trackstack on Instagram: @trackstack.proConnect with Cameron & George on Instagram: @cameronembling @george_trackstack
Recorded live at the Women in Music Canada Summit, this artist-to-artist conversation brings together two generations of trailblazers in pop and dance music. Host Sarah Burke moderates this discussion between Simone Denny —Canadian dance and house icon, 7x Juno nominee, 4x Juno winner, and Women in Music Career Achievement Award recipient—and LU KALA, Juno-nominated pop powerhouse behind the viral anthem “Pretty Girl Era” and a Billboard Rising Star honouree. Together, they unpack what empowerment really feels like, how family, culture, and growing up in Toronto shaped their sound, and what it means to be Black women working in genres where they're still treated as exceptions. They talk candidly about body criticism, confidence, and turning online comments into affirmations and anthems. They also discuss the invisible labor of social media and always being “the brand." Along the way, they reflect on mentorship, the people who speak your name in rooms you're not in, the reality of non-stop hustle in today's music industry, and how they each define success and legacy on their own terms. https://simonedenny.com/ https://www.igobylu.com/ https://womeninmusic.ca/ https://www.womeninmedia.network/ Learn more about your ad choices. Ian Gabriel (MIRAAGE) is both a professional Music Artist and a Motivational Speaker. Born and raised in Lexington, KY. The music has a Pop/Jazzy/Hip-Hop feel, spiced with horns and flow switches. This along with his voice creates beautiful soundscapes with soul and passion. MIRAAGE has been making music since he was very young and has been producing it professionally since 2010.He debuted his first full length project, "Donuts & Coffee" in 2015 which is a tribute album to the late great James Dewitt Yancy AKA J Dilla. The album displays MIRAAGE'S lyrical prowess and complexity over the instrumentation provided by J Dilla's "Donuts" album. He continues to provide intricacy and yet stay simple enough to make sure the message connects with his audience. He brings back true soul music into an industry that is now so hard to find. Ian is also an activist for foster youth and individuals with disabilities. He started speaking at different events/conferences at age 15. He uses humor and music to connect with youth, families, and professionals on various topics; Relating to his 13 years that he spent in the foster care system. Recently he gave a keynote for the 2nd time at the annual KECSAC con-ference (Kentucky Educational Collaborative for State Agency Children) and has also spoken at several events nationally. He's also been involved with different organizations building the futures for youth: such as TAYLRD (Transition Age Youth Launching Realized Dreams), YMO (Youth MOVE Oregon), and NYTD (National Youth in Transition Database). He has used these experiences to develop himself into a messenger of hope- delivering a powerful, informative, and entertaining experience every time he grips a microphone.

Today I'm chatting with the oh-so-talented out recording artist Cornelius Versa. Raised on a soundtrack of LeAnn Rimes, Brooks & Dunn, and Verdi, Cornelius blends country storytelling with the drama of his classical roots. His debut album, “The Crystal Cowboy,” is a wide-open jukebox of heartache, rebellion, and queer identity, tracing the road to finally finding his voice. At its core, the new collection is a country album, but the listening experience is bigger than that blending touches of classical arrangements, opera, folk, rock, and pop — or as he likes to call it, “Operatic Americana.” “The Crystal Cowboy,” is available now on all major music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. You can find him on Instagram at instagram.com/corneliusversa, his official website corneliusversa.com, and on YouTube at youtube.com/@corneliusversa

Angel Marie and Kevin cover the Rundown followed by an in-depth interview with Music Artist and Performer Brxgxtte XO.
Rich shares how he became the Most Prolific Music Artist of the 21st Century, releasing over 50 albums and 800+ original songs in under six months — an unprecedented achievement that unfolded almost by accident. Rich explains the frustration that sparked it: today's artists spend more time on image and branding than on actually making music. After 15 years immersed in Chicago's live music scene — attending shows, going on tour, filming studio sessions, and watching friends grow from small gigs to world tours — he left Chicago to experience a creative retreat in rural Wisconsin. Rich uses long planting and harvesting days on the tractor to dive into audiobooks, podcasts, and full discographies. But even with Spotify's recommendations, nothing matched the sound he was searching for. He felt disengaged with and uninspired by music. That turning point led him to experiment with AI, resulting in a surprising breakthrough: an album that finally captured exactly what he wanted to hear. Rich walks through how that moment expanded into a massive creative process — building entire musical universes through characters from his unpublished novel, The Gate of Clouds, merging his philosophy, his experiences, and different musical styles. Music became his space of joy, reflection, and acceptance, ultimately making him happier than he had been in years. Rich also discusses founding Blue Byron Books, developing his own publishing workflow, and how his time between rural Wisconsin and Chicago helped shape his perspective on art, culture, and innovation. He describes why he believes the traditional music industry model is outdated, why artists should push boundaries fearlessly, and how his own process — built on velocity, imagination, and minimal friction — allowed him to create so much, so quickly. This recording documents Rich's full creative evolution: from Chicago's music scene, to the quiet fields of Wisconsin, to becoming the most prolific music artist of the century through pure experimentation, curiosity, and unconventional thinking.
