Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and Podemos leader Pablo Iglesias on Thursday sealed a deal to reinforce the former’s minority government and avoid early elections. THE SUPREME COURT in Madrid has ordered two children of an elderly woman to serve a 17-year sentence in prison for leaving their mother to die “in a cruel way”. The defendants were condemned by the judge for their “absolute laziness” in caring for their sick mother, 76, neglecting her “most basic needs” of food and hygiene. Prior to her death in 2015, the ill mother lived with her son, daughter-in- law and granddaughter in Tenerife, Canary Islands................ In Spain, the Civil Code ensures the obligation of children to care for their parents when they are unable to do so and when they “have reached an age and cannot fend for themselves”. For decades, the Spanish Catholic Church has been keeping quiet on the majority of sexual abuse cases involving minors of which it had knowledge or tried in its ecclesiastical courts. According to judicial records, judges have issued 33 rulings against priests over the last 30 years, for the abuse of 80 minors. Spanish doctor Verónica Casado has been named the best family doctor in the world by the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA). One of Britain's most prolific paedophiles has won a legal challenge to cut his 32- year prison sentence. Cambridge graduate Matthew Falder had his custodial term reduced to 25 years by Court of Appeal judges in London on Tuesday. Bespectacled Falder watched the proceedings via video link from prison as his lawyer argued that the 32 year sentence was 'manifestly excessive'. The decision to allow the challenge was announced by Lord Justice Holroyde, sitting with Mr Justice King and the Recorder of Winchester Judge Keith Cutler. He said the court had concluded that the 'appropriate' custodial term, taking into account credit for the guilty pleas, and 'the principle of totality', was 25 years. Earlier this year, Falder admitted 137 offences, including voyeurism, encouraging child rape, and sharing images showing the abuse of a newborn baby. Leapy talks about out of touch politicians and Theresa May joining in a protest........Oh really? I bet they weren’t about to erect a two or three hundred housing development at the bottom of her road and fill it with immigrants! I wonder if Mrs May’s liberal attitudes toward the ever-rising immigrant population would be so enthusiastic if she found her delightful ‘genteel little village’ had suddenly turned into an area, so diverse in its culture, she felt like a stranger in her own country? No, I don’t actually want to ................

It's Leapy's Birthday and we wish him all the best. Brexit is still giving us plenty to talk about as Nigel Farage hangs up his Ukips. Leapy is very upbeat and is hoping the UK will lead the European countries back to reality and sensibility.

Leapy is not too happy with David Cameron's part in the Brexit question and feels he should be neutral and ofeering both points of view to the UK. What is lurking behind what is happening? Why are some aspects of the day's events being kept from the general public?

It's always great catching up with old friends and Leapy has really found a new lease of life as we spoke on the telephone line between Spain and Tenerife. The UK is suffering the most awful times with the weather and Leapy is also feeling sorry for all those suffering. Leapy's just had his phone nicked and this hasn't beenm helpful. Bill Roche and Dave Lee Travis have both been cleared from the accusations dating back to the 1960s and we spoke about his thoughts on this matter.

He has his strong views still and we spoke about global warming, the immigration question in the UK and the audacity of Channel Four with their Benefits St programme. Leapy has a great new venture on the go for 2014 and we might well be looking at Leapy's musical which had been shelved for nearly 40 years.

I made a lovely podcast with Sir Paul McCartney's step-mother Angie McCartney, via an introduction from Don. ....http://vincetracy.com/angiemac.html Don first met Angie through a friend called Mike Banks who asked him if he would like to meet Leapy Lee …Leapy is a regular on my shows. They all arranged to meet at the New Brighton Rugby Club and Leapy rolled up with Lee and Angie with her daughter, Ruth…Leapy ended up getting Don a publishing deal with Evolution Records who had a few big names on their books. Don wrote a song for Diana Dors and The Bonzo Dog Doodah Band….then the company went under….a few years later Don was pushing his stuff to various publishers and one of them told him that a guy from his company had moved up North and set up a company in Birkenhead…so round he went…walked in and who was part of the company? - Angie and Ruth who signed him up….they managed Gary Glitter (long before his demise) and Don learnt so much from them that he ended up in 1980 setting up his own company....that's how showbiz works, folks! Don is also a friend of another of my podcast guests, Mike McGear. Mike is Paul McCartney's brother. On one occasion Mike was going down to London to RCA Records to push some of his stuff and asked Don to go along and push some of his own songs.….At that time Don had just produced a single for his wrestling mate Adrian Street . During the visit he played it to one of the bigwigs and watched his eyes slowly glaze over….... he said It was possibly the worst record in the history of music…Don asked him if hecould quote him on that..he agreed…so that went on the label….when Adrian moved to the States he made a video of the song. This is on Youtube along with the others Don did for him…it got MTV play and went into a film…..and paid off Don's mortgage…… ….Don had to laugh at the concert Paul McCartney did recently in New York….the show was running over time and he was halfway through a duet with Bruce Springsteen and they switched the mikes off! …. finally….Don's been working on a doowop song for a new friend in the States….His name is Doowop Joe Conroy and he has a internet radio station in North Carolina...he checked out Don's website and noticed Don writes novelty songs. He asked Don to write one about all the doowop groups….….the song is called “DooWop Days” and can be found on YouTube……http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83mEgF9W5VU
Make no mistake-Team GB has enjoyed a wonderful Olympic success. Leapy is the first to acknowledge this. However, Leapy has been misunderstood. As a fan of Athletics he was concerned that Britain had little chance of medals in a lot of the events. In the euphoria after the success of Mo Farah, Jessica Ennis and Greg Rutherford in the Long Jump there has been a number of events which have not seen success. Leapy hastens to add he didn't mean to generalise and he applauds the wonderful successes that have been achieved in so many disciplines.. There are areas where the Olympic Committees will be looking at their strategies but overall these wonderful athletes and competitors have put the GREAT back in GB. There is a valid point that money must be invested to back the efforts of all competitors. The success in Equestrianism, Rowing, Sailing, and Cycling comes at a price. There must be an investment strategy and this has been the case with GB. How can the same success be transferred to the Blue Ribbon event?
