We're hitting August, and it's all about the FEMALES: which means we're covering films with "FEMALE" in the title. And if you couldn't get enough of individuals assuming someone else's identity in one episode, wait until you get your eyes on SINGLE WHITE FEMALE. Following in the footsteps of THE TALENTED MR. RIPLEY, we replace opulence and popularity with questionable haircuts. They really test the limits of Bridget Fonda's attraction factor by giving her a haircut similar to Guy Gardner's from SUPERMAN, but you will be surprised how well this hair performs. There's very little to say about this film that hasn't been said already as one of the prime examples of the Erotic Thriller genre. This is a good one!

Host Jo Reed and AudioFile's Robin Whitten discuss Peter Swanson's intriguing mystery, superbly delivered by Steven Weber. The audiobook's structure goes backwards from 2023 to 1982—telling a story that's like a giant jigsaw puzzle. Thom and Wendy Graves have been married for 25 years. When Wendy discovers Thom is about to reveal a terrible secret, she decides she must kill him. With timing, keen sensibilities, and touches of dramatic irony, Weber makes each important moment in the couple's lives as real as the moment before. A clever premise does not disappoint, and Weber's performance makes it even better.  Read our review of the audiobook at our website Published by Harper Audio Discover thousands of audiobook reviews and more at AudioFile's website Support for Behind the Mic comes from Hachette Audio and NIGHT WATCHER, by Daphne Woolsoncroft (of the Going West podcast), who read an audio-exclusive author's note before the stunning dual-narration by Will Collyer and Helen Laser. In this deeply honest and wide-ranging conversation on Still Here Hollywood, Steven Weber (Wings, The Shining, Single White Female) opens up to Steve Kmetko about the roles that shaped—and haunted—his career. From his infamous death-by-stiletto scene in Single White Female to portraying Jack Torrance in Stephen King's The Shining miniseries, Weber reflects on what he'd do differently today, wishing he'd taken himself more seriously as an actor. He shares his admiration for great directors who bring out an actor's best, his dream of working with someone who truly “gets” him, and his love of old-school Hollywood storytelling. Along the way, Weber and Kmetko dive into everything from the legacy of Hitchcock and Patricia Hitchcock to Weber's fanboy meltdown meeting Stephen Soderbergh. The episode also takes a powerful turn as Kmetko bravely shares his recent stroke story and the miracle that followed. With reflections on regret, reinvention, and creative hunger, this is one of the most compelling and human interviews yet. #StevenWeber #StillHereHollywood #SteveKmetko #TheShining #SingleWhiteFemale #JackTorrance #StephenKing #ClassicMovies #HollywoodReflections #TVIcons #StrokeRecovery #StephenSoderbergh #BridgetFonda #JenniferJasonLeigh #Hitchcock #BehindTheScenes #ActorInterview #StevenWeberInterviewShow Credits Host/Producer: Steve Kmetko All things technical: Justin Zangerle Executive Producer: Jim Lichtenstein Music by: Brian Sanyshyn Transcription:  Mushtaq Hussain   https://stillherehollywood.com http://patreon.com/stillherehollywood Suggest Guests at: stillherehollywood@gmail.com Advertise on Still Here Hollywood: jim@stillherenetwork.com Publicist: Maggie Perlich: maggie@numbertwelvemarketing.com

The conversation takes a powerful turn as Steve shares his personal story of surviving a stroke and the perspective that came with it. In Part 14 of The Journey Beyond Death, we continue with the fourth installment of our eight-part deep dive into near-death experiences. This episode explores how a life-altering motorcycle accident transformed Steven Weber, a former skeptic, into a passionate believer in the existence of a spiritual realm. Through his vivid narrative of the "place between here and there," Steven shares how consciousness persists beyond the body and how recognizing the spirit in all things redefines the nature of existence itself. We also examine the concept of the life review, where every action, thought, and feeling is experienced not only from one's own perspective but also through the eyes of others. Steven's journey reveals that even the most painful experiences can ultimately lead to immense growth, healing, and spiritual evolution. His insights highlight the interconnectedness of all beings and challenge us to see the divine not just in others, but within ourselves. Adding to this rich tapestry of experiences, intuitive healer and medium Debra Martin joins us to share her three profound near-death experiences. Through her encounters with spiritual surgeons, divine light, and soul contracts, Debra illustrates the immense power of unconditional love, free will, and the deeper meaning behind our earthly journeys. Her revelations underscore that pain, challenges, and even death itself are pivotal parts of a soul's broader mission to learn, grow, and return to Source. Spencer GarrettTake a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know Spencer Garrett. In this episode, I get to know the actor and ow he got to where he is. We chat about his family, and what made him decide to get into show business. We trade Hollywood stories; although he has many, MANY more! We take a little detour, when Spencer tells me what he was doing between college and acting; while working in Washington D.C. Next we Talk about how and why he studied with Sanford (Sandy) Meisner, and how Spencer came to be in several of Emilio Estevez's film projects. From behind the scenes on some of the greatest films ever made, to some fun down time with Mike Nichols, and Dustin Hoffman; Spencer is full of stories. I ask Spencer about his involvement in the super popular scripted fiction podcast called America 2.0, and he hints there may be more on the horizon. That leads into an unbelievable story about a group of character actors who meet every month for dinner and have a BLAST together. The CADS, is a group of like-minded actors including: Michael McKean, Lawrence Fishburne, Steven Weber, Titus Welliver, Kevin Pollak, Richard Kind, and so many more! I want to attend this dinner just once!!. Make sure you check out Spencer in the upcoming Korean spy thriller on Disney+ called Tempest (2025), and tell him you heard him on Fascination Street Podcast!

Steven and I go on a really funny riff on how it's so easy to be famous these days by not doing much of anything. And hear Steven's take on why Europe looks at fame and success differently than we do in America.

Instructional coaches can play a crucial role in supporting teachers, particularly in implementing new strategies or technologies in the classroom. This episode highlights the importance of coaches being dedicated staff members who work solely with teachers, not students. The discussion acknowledged that while this model may require significant investment, it could lead to more effective professional development than traditional methods. It is emphasized that the success of instructional coaches can't be measured solely by test scores, but also by improvements in teacher confidence and skills. Many educators support the idea of allowing students to retake exams or redo submitted assignments. However, there are significant complexities and challenges involved when teachers have large and multiple classes. In this discussion, we explore the educational value of retakes, stressing the importance of structured learning processes over mere grade chasing. The consensus was that retakes when managed well, can greatly aid student learning but require clear policies to ensure they do not overwhelm teachers. This is our annual holiday spectacular, with great guests, True Tales From Weirdsville and, of course, hours and hours of Christmas songs and holiday games. Not really.  Kliph Nesteroff is here. Kliph is a fantastic writer who has been here before discussing his books, The Comedians and We Had A Little Real Estate Problem. He is here to talk about his spectacular and, in my opinion, mandatory reading new book, Outrageous, A History Of Showbiz and the Culture Wars. It's one of my top five books of this year, just phenomenal and I'm really excited for you to hear him talk about it.  Also, actor Steven Weber is here. You know Steven from Wings, the TV miniseries The Shining, Chicago Hope and so much more. He is also a hilarious guy, a monster kid, and a terrific storyteller, so happy to have finally nabbed him to be on. Steven Weber is here.  True Tales From Weirdsville takes the idea of no good deed going unpunished to a whole new level, it's the making of Monty Python's Life Of Brian.
