Texas’ Attorney General has appealed to the nation’s highest court to lift a stay on Edward Busby’s scheduled execution for today. 70-year-old former revered spiritual leader Daniel Savala pleaded guilty Thursday for a “pattern of sexual exploitation involving multiple victims over time.” A number of his victims crowded the courtroom yesterday to give victim impact statements.
