De #DCDW podcast wordt gepubliceerd om de online automotive beter te maken. In deze aflevering spreekt host Paul de Vries, oprichter van #DCDW, met Jeroen Dols en Maarten Plesman van AM-I (Automotive Intelligence). Inmiddels is AM-I uitgegroeid tot een suite van modules die dealers, dealerholdings én importeurs inzicht geeft in hun online marketing, voorraad, leadmanagement en processen. Jeroen benadrukt hoe essentieel het is om te professionaliseren op gebieden als softwaredevelopment, onboarding en customer success management, om groei mogelijk te maken en klanten optimaal te bedienen. Een belangrijk onderwerp in deze aflevering is het verschil tussen de Amerikaanse en Nederlandse aanpak als het gaat om investeren en schalen. Waar Amerikanen groot durven te denken en investeren op basis van marktpotentie, zijn Nederlanders vaak terughoudender en bouwen ze stap voor stap verder. Paul en zijn gasten bespreken hoe belangrijk het is om processen schaalbaar te maken als je als automotive softwarebedrijf wilt doorgroeien, zeker richting een pan-Europese aanpak. Daarnaast bespreken ze de rol van customer success: AM-I investeert actief in training en begeleiding van hun klanten, want alleen als gebruikers daadwerkelijk succes behalen met het platform is er sprake van een duurzame samenwerking. Ook de verschillen tussen Amerikaanse en Europese klanten komen aan bod: zijn Europese dealers bereid te betalen voor echte customer success begeleiding en welke uitdagingen kom je dan tegen? Een ander hoogtepunt van de podcast zijn de inzichten rondom het digitaliseren van leadopvolging en het automatiseren van werkprocessen. Met AM-I wordt het mogelijk om voor elke medewerker een dagelijkse prioriteitenlijst op te stellen (het 'Wat moet ik doen vandaag' dashboard), zodat geen enkele lead of klantverzoek blijft liggen. Vanuit managementniveau kunnen processen worden gemonitord, geoptimaliseerd en vertaald naar praktische acties op de werkvloer. De koppelingen met andere systemen binnen de automotive (zoals DMS of VMS) komen ook uitgebreid aan bod. Paul en Jeroen bespreken de uitdagingen van integraties met bestaande systemen en benadrukken de cloud-native aanpak van AM-I, waardoor workflows en data real-time beschikbaar zijn en makkelijk kunnen worden gekoppeld. Een bijzonder actueel onderwerp in deze aflevering is de inzet van AI (artificial intelligence) binnen de automotive. Paul vraagt kritisch door: wat gaan Maarten en Jeroen daadwerkelijk doen met AI? Hun antwoord is nuchter: AI wordt vooral ingezet om de enorme hoeveelheid data te structureren, te personaliseren en waardevolle inzichten te halen die medewerkers daadwerkelijk helpen bij hun dagelijkse werkzaamheden. AM-I focust niet op het ontwikkelen van eindeloze eigen AI-tools, maar op het bieden van een stevig dataplatform dat eenvoudig kan koppelen met bestaande AI-applicaties die zich in de praktijk hebben bewezen. Tot slot benoemen Paul, Maarten en Jeroen het belang van samenwerken in de keten en continu blijven optimaliseren. Of het nu gaat om nieuwe OEM's die Europa willen betreden, vooruitstrevende onafhankelijke autobedrijven of grote dealerholdings: het succes van digitale automotive oplossingen wordt bepaald door het vermogen om snel in te spelen op klantwensen en door te blijven innoveren op het snijvlak van mens, proces en technologie. Pien Wekking (27) is contentcreator en kookboekenschrijver. Ze studeerde aanvankelijk rechten, maar besloot op haar 23e een ander pad te volgen. Tijdens de coronapandemie verplaatste haar liefde voor eten zich naar haar Instagramaccount, waar ze foto's van haar gerechten begon te delen onder de noemer Pien laat haar eten zien. Ibrah Silas Jackson (25) is danser, regisseur en choreograaf uit Rotterdam. Op zijn zestiende verhuisde hij van Oeganda naar Nederland. Hier raakte hij geïnspireerd door zijn omgeving en de dansscene om een dansopleiding te volgen. Tegenwoordig choreografeert en regisseert hij zijn eigen dansvoorstellingen. De basis van zijn werk ligt in de hiphopcultuur, die hij combineert met andere stijlen, zoals moderne en Afrikaanse dans. Deze herfst treedt hij op met de stukken Hereditary en Until The Quiet Comes, waarin hij zijn eigen verhaal vertelt en thema's onderzoekt die spelen in het leven van mannen. Hendrika de Vries is the author of the award-winning memoir When a Toy Dog Became a Wolf and the Moon Broke Curfew, a historical memoir about her childhood in Nazi-occupied Amsterdam during WWII that tells a gripping story of resistance, resilience and female strength in the face of brutality and oppression. Her current memoir, Open Turns: From Dutch Girl to New Australian — a Memoir (She Writes Press, Sept. 2, 2025 ), is its coming-of-age sequel. Henny was just a little girl when she experienced brutal violence and hunger in WWII Amsterdam. But she is now a teenage immigrant swimmer in 1950s Australia. She is smart, she swims fast and she has definite opinions about thekind of woman she intends to be––all of which serves her well in her new home, where she must learn to turn challenges into success.Her parents' wisdom continues to guide her. “Intentions are like prayers; you send them out into the universe and if you pay attention they come back as destiny,” her mother says. As a graduate schoolteacher she helped students explore the archetypal patterns in their life narratives.Hendrika holds a BA with Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Colorado, an MTS in theological studies from Virginia Theological Seminary, and an MA in counseling psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times and the LA Times.
