Clubkampioenschap strokeplay op Amelisweerd dit weekend. Martijn miste ivm herstel zijn eerste clubkampioenschap strokeplay. Paul kon zondag niet want hij ging fietsen, Rogier had een aflopend schema maar het was net 7 ronden te kort om nog een redelijk rondje neer te zetten en had het met name druk met Gamebook. Peter kwam niet uit de bunkers en veroorzaakte een rel. Groot succes dus! Top 10 nog wel voor Peet, gezellig weekend en mooie winnaar. Paul gaat naar The Open komende zondag en ook een beetje golfen en bier drinken.De eerste win van Lars van der Vight is binnen op de HotelPlanner Tour met een 59! op vrijdag in de German Challenge. ‘Elke oorlogscorrespondent moet alles lezen van Gellhorn. Ze is een monument', aldus Geert Mak over de door hem bewonderde oorlogscorrespondent Martha Gellhorn. Gellhorn was de belangrijkste oorlogscorrespondent van de twintigste eeuw en stond bekend als onverschrokken. Ze deinsde niet terug voor gevaar, sterker nog: ze zocht de oorlogshaarden op om nauwgezet, kritisch maar ook sociaal betrokken verslag te doen van wat zij zelf zag en meemaakte. Ze was ooggetuige in de Spaanse Burgeroorlog, de politionele acties in Indonesië en de burgeroorlog in El Salvador. Cruciaal moment in haar leven was haar bezoek aan Dachau; het tekende haar voorgoed. Ze had een stormachtige verhouding en huwelijk met de beroemde Amerikaanse schrijver Ernest Hemingway. Tijdens deze bijzondere bijeenkomst wordt het laatste werk van Lieke Marsman, De dichter en de duivel, in zijn geheel voorgedragen door Hanna Bervoets, Lucky Fonz III, Safae el Khannoussi, Lotfi El Hamidi, Nadia de Vries, Dean Bowen en Maarten van der Graaff. Deze sprekers zijn door Marsman zelf gevraagd om haar werk voor te dragen. Lieke Marsman zou zelf ook het podium betreden. Woensdag 3 juni is zij overleden aan de gevolgen van kraakbeenkanker. Eerder, in 2018, had ze te horen gekregen dat ze een zeldzame vorm van kraakbeenkanker had. Marsman schreef sindsdien met de dood op de hielen. Hoe dat doodsbesef haar wereldbeeld openbrak beschreef ze in het zeer goed ontvangen Op een andere planeet kunnen ze me redden (2025), waarin ze een lans brak voor geloof in ufo's en God. In de loop der jaren werd haar werk politieker van aard. Toegankelijk, soms met cynische humor schreef ze over de afbraak van de verzorgingsstaat, over een aarde die steeds onleefbaarder wordt – en over de verhullende beleidstaal waarmee hierover in de politiek gesproken wordt. In 2021 werd Marsman, in de coronacrisis, Dichter des Vaderlands, waarbij ze zich voornam om woorden te geven aan de achtergeblevenen en vergetenen.De dichter en de duivel: Een dichter koopt een huis en komt tot de ontdekking dat haar berging toegang biedt tot een ondergrondse wereld waar mensen in ruil voor kleine stukjes ziel hun zonden afkopen. Terwijl ze steeds verder afdaalt, ontmoet ze influencers, politici, opiniemakers en columnisten. In Wat blijft audiodoc volgt presentator en journalist Nathan de Vries het spoor terug van leider van de slavenopstand op Curaçao Tula. Tula leefde en werkte op plantage Kenepa ('Knip') aan de westkant van Curaçao en nam op 17 augustus 1795 het initiatief om het werk neer te leggen en vrijheid te bepleiten van hem en zijn lotgenoten. Dit betekende het begin van de grootste slavenopstand in de geschiedenis van de Nederlandse Antillen. Onder zijn leiding trokken zo'n tweeduizend tot slaaf gemaakten naar de hoofdstad Willemstad. Uiteindelijk werd Tula ter dood veroordeeld, gemarteld en geradbraakt.    Lange tijd werd Tula weggezet als een oproerkraaier en misdadiger. Pas vanaf 1985 wordt de opstand op het eiland herdacht, Tula kreeg in 2010 eerherstel en in 2023 werd hij door de Nederlandse regering officieel gerehabiliteerd. We're back with another AFTN Soccer Show packed full of World Cup, Canadian national team, and even Vancouver Whitecaps chat. Watching him discover his own strength revealed a calling that would eventually lead her to become a family therapist in the United States.   Today, Hendrika de Vries is a retired family therapist, teacher, and writer with a background in theology and depth psychology. She is the author of two memoirs, including one about a little Dutch girl who journeys from the shadows of war to a new life in Australia, confronting loss, shattered dreams, and inner struggles before discovering her unique path forward.   Through her writing and speaking, Hendrika inspires audiences with a powerful message: even in the darkest times, hope and possibility remain. Addiction, Accommodation, and Vulnerability in Psychoanalysis: Circles Without a Center (Routledge, 2022) explores the compulsions and trauma that underlie addiction, using an intersubjective approach in seeking to understand the inspirations and challenges arising from the psychoanalytic treatment of addiction, compulsivity, and related dissociative conditions. Drawing on insights from his own analytic practice and personal experience, in addition to the work of Stolorow, Brandchaft and Winnicott, among others, Haber considers the complex ways in which addiction becomes woven into a person's life, and analyses how it interacts with other problems such as depression and anxiety, self-fragmentation, and ambivalence about treatment. Haber creatively integrates the work of Camus, Kafka, and Beckett to further contemplate the dilemmas that can arise during the clinical process and, in identifying his own and his patients' vulnerabilities and contradictions, provides an honest, humorous and sometimes painful account of what happens in the consulting room. With its use of rich clinical material and an accessible and vivid writing style, this book will appeal to all psychoanalysts and psychotherapists working with patients affected by addiction, as well as other professionals seeking new insights into effective strategies for treating this most challenging malady. Editor – Greg O'Bryant Tuner editor Greg O'Bryant returns to the podcast to discuss cutting a film that is part crime thriller, part romance, part character study, part music movie and part very compelling argument for keeping your ears covered in New York City. Directed by Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Daniel Roher, Tuner stars Leo Woodall as Niki, a gifted piano tuner whose hypersensitive hearing makes every day sound almost unbearable. That same extraordinary hearing also gives Niki an unexpected talent for cracking safes, pulling him from a quiet life of tuning pianos into an increasingly dangerous criminal world. The film also stars Dustin Hoffman as Harry, Niki's mentor, Havana Rose Liu as Ruthie, a young composer, along with Lior Raz, Jean Reno and Tovah Feldshuh. One of the biggest challenges on Tuner was the sheer amount of footage. Roher shot a large volume of material over a short production schedule, giving Greg and his assistant a mountain of performances, musical material, safe-cracking details and improvisation to shape into the final film. Greg discusses how he approached that process by focusing on subjectivity — using the edit to put the audience inside Niki's experience rather than simply moving through the plot. Sound was another major topic of conversation. Because Niki experiences the world through hyper-sensitive hearing, the editorial and sound teams had to build a language for when the audience enters his point of view.  Which meant figuring out how much of that experience to hear, and how to make the effect clear without making it punishing. O'Bryant also talks about working with sound designer Johnnie Burn, composer Will Bates and executive music producer Marius de Vries to balance the film's sound design, live music and score. George Russell Congratulations to Lewis (Hamilton). He drove a really impressive race today after being incredibly quick in Qualifying yesterday. Coming into the weekend, I don't think we expected that pace from Ferrari, so we know we've got a challenge coming from them in the races ahead. We will be working hard to tackle that challenge and get back to winning ways. On my side, the race today was not straightforward. I was struggling with the tyres towards the end of my second and third stints; the Virtual Safety Car didn't help us either and it would have been a fascinating race with Lewis without that. I will take the positives from this weekend though. It has been clean from the very start and I come away with 18 points, which is 18 points more than I managed across Canada and Monaco! We will regroup in the week ahead and look to improve for Austria. We've got a big double-header coming up with Spielberg and Silverstone and I am already excited for it. Kimi Antonelli It is very disappointing to retire from P2, but these things can happen in racing. George suffered an issue in Canada and now it's happened to me; we know our reliability is something we need to work on and I am sure the team will be pushing incredibly hard to improve that. It's more important points that we've lost but we must remember that it is the first year of these new regulations and we are all learning quickly. Congratulations to Lewis (Hamilton) on his victory today. He is a great driver and has been so much help in my career so far. I am pleased to see him up there once again as he really deserves it. I think we had the pace today to challenge him for the win, but the Virtual Safety Car came out at a bad time for us, and we didn't get to see how things would have played out. We have one week without racing before returning in Austria. We have seen our competitors take a step forward here this weekend and we will need to raise our game there if we want to fight for victory again. We will pick ourselves up, learn from this weekend, and come back stronger. MAX VERSTAPPEN - 4th "Today we just didn't have the pace to keep up with the cars ahead. I was really just doing my own race as we were a little bit behind the guys that finished in front of me. As a Team we did everything right, it was the winning strategy, so we made the right call there with the tyres. We were just too slow compared to the cars ahead on each compound, unfortunately. We tried our best and put everything into it but ultimately the whole weekend was a bit tough for us. We do struggle more with these high energy tracks with high degradation and we just need to work on things and try to find more pace in the upcoming races." ISACK HADJAR - 6th "I felt like I had good pace this weekend once we got to Qualifying and the race, but I had a shocker at the race start with so much wheelspin, so that's one aspect I really want to focus on before Red Bull Ring. We could have fought with Oscar if we had a good start, so it's a bit of a shame. I think we did way better than we thought we would this weekend given the track layout and conditions. Austria will be a better track for us, and we expect to have a stronger car. We just need to work on the starts." TOYOTA TAKE ITS SIXTH VICTORY AT LE MANS Toyota executed a perfect, textbook strategy throughout the 94th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans to claim its first victory since 2022, securing a sixth overall triumph and equalling the tally of British marque Bentley.     To spectacular fanfare, Japanese powerhouse Toyota Racing lifted the iconic trophy at a sun-kissed Circuit de la Sarthe for the first time in four years, in front of hundreds of thousands of spectators at the venue and millions more watching around the world. Drivers Kamui Kobayashi, Nyck de Vries and Mike Conway emerged as the team to beat at the end of the race, guiding the #7 Toyota to victory ahead of the sister #8 Toyota Racing entry, the #20 BMW M Team WRT and the #12 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA machine in an epic four-way battle to the chequered flag – underlining the "Platinum Era" status that the Hypercar category is building. For Kobayashi, it was a second Le Mans victory. It marked a second triumph for British star Mike Conway and, for the first time in 38 years, a historic win for the Netherlands as Nyck de Vries became the latest Dutch driver to conquer Le Mans. It looked set to be another Toyota one-two, but BMW's never-say-die attitude ensured that the FIA World Endurance Championship points leaders – the #20 crew of Robin Frijns, René Rast and Sheldon van der Linde – claimed second overall and a valuable haul of championship points.
