The Lost Princess: Talking to Hashem & Believing in Yourself | Rabbi Chaim Kramer

Rabbi Chaim Kramer, founder of the Breslov Research Institute, opens up Rebbe Nachman's tale of the Lost Princess — the story Rebbe Nachman said awakens a hirhur teshuvah, a thought of return, in anyone who hears it. In this warm, practical shiur, Rabbi Kramer brings the story straight into daily life: what teshuvah really is and why it's available every single day; how to make Hashem real through hisbodedus — private, heartfelt conversation with Hashem, speaking to Him the way you'd speak to a close friend; and why the most important "leg" of emunah is believing in yourself. If you can believe you damaged something, you can believe you're able to repair it. Along the way he weaves in Reb Noson's teachings from Likutey Halachos and Likutey Moharan: the secret hidden in the laws of kashrus — the things we have to work hard for versus the gifts that simply arrive on their own; the power of staying silent in the face of humiliation as the highest form of teshuvah; and the hidden Name of Hashem, Ehyeh — "I will be." A story-filled, down-to-earth talk on returning to Hashem, finding Him 24/7, and never giving up on yourself. In this shiur: What teshuvah really is — and why it's available every day Hisbodedus: talking to Hashem like a friend Emunah as a four-legged chair — and why believing in yourself is the key leg Hirhur teshuvah: the single thought that can change everything Kashrus as a map for trusting Hashem (Likutey Halachos) Accepting humiliation in silence — the highest teshuvah (Likutey Moharan 6) The hidden Name Ehyeh — "I will be" Source: Rebbe Nachman of Breslov, the tale of the Lost Princess (Sippurei Maasiyos), taught by Rabbi Chaim Kramer. #Breslov #RebbeNachman #ChaimKramer #Teshuvah #Hisbodedus #Emunah #LostPrincess #SippureiMaasiyos #LikuteyMoharan #RebNoson #Hashem #JewishWisdom #Torah #Spirituality #Chassidus #Faith #Prayer #JewishPodcast #Uman #BelieveInYourself

Ikar hateshuva — shyishma bizyono yidom v'yishtok. Hear your humiliation. Be still. That is the way back. Shiur 2 in the weekly Torah series on the Lost Princess of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov, at the Sephardic Center on Avenue P in Brooklyn. With R' Nachman Fried. This shiur picks up right where Shiur 1 left off — and walks through the spiritual lull between Shavuos and Rosh Hashana, the moment the words slipped from the King's mouth, and the moment the viceroy stood up uninvited and asked, give me a servant, give me a horse, give me money for the journey. The Rebbe is teaching us, in every detail, who the tzaddik is — and who we are. What we cover: The Rebbe is for everyone — vos art es mir az einer bentcht zich b'kavana un nisht visen az es iz fun mir. What does it bother me if someone bentches with kavana and doesn't know it's from me? The Rebbe never cared if you became his chassid. He cared if you connected to Hashem. The post-Shavuos void — why the Torah deliberately leaves us with no Yom Tov between Shavuos and Rosh Hashana. The trigger we're trying to distract from is underneath the boredom — and Hashem put it there on purpose. The three beliefs — Hashem, the tzaddik, and (the one the yetzer hara works hardest to break) YOU. The ladybug-in-the-pool story. You are relevant. You can't make peace with terrorists — my father olav hashalom, the yetzer hara's real address (not Ibiza — your head), and why the doubt about your own relevance is the yesod of Amalek. Ego = Edging G-d Out — how every time we let our strength protect our weakness, we lay down another iron layer between us and the chelek Eloka mima'al inside. The avoda — yishma bizyono, yidom v'yishtok. Hear your humiliation. Stay quiet. Stay present. That is the kli the light is waiting to fill. The story moves — the broiges, the words that slipped from the King's mouth (vnishtguter zol dir nemen), the lost princess vanishing, and the moment the viceroy stood up without being asked. That uninvited amad is the tzaddik. That uninvited amad is the tzaddik in you. Compassion needs Da'as — feeling someone's pain is rachmanus. Acting on it is l'rachem. The bridge between them is da'as — and da'as is what lets you see the godliness inside the table, the chair, the meshulach at your door. Why he asked for a servant, a horse, and money — chavruta + nefesh habahamis (to ride, not to be ridden) + parnassa for the road. We were the viceroy. We agreed to come down here. We said yes. The action plan — bli neder, one moment of humiliation this week. With your wife if you're married. With a partner. In business. One time. Hear it. Stay. Don't run. That's how the chomah stays standing and the Lost Princess can be heard again. —

Eilech V'anaseh — *Let me go and try.* A new weekly Torah series on the Lost Princess of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov, beginning at the Sephardic Center on Avenue P in Brooklyn. With R' Nachman Fried. This is Shiur 1 — the introduction to the story and the series. Rebbe Nachman said his Torah is *kodesh* and his stories are *kodesh kodashim*. The Lost Princess is the first and most relatable of the thirteen stories — the one that maps onto every life. What we cover: • **Why the Rebbe started telling stories** — five years before his passing, the Rebbe said: "I have told you Torah and I see it is not doing what it needs to do." Then he began the stories. *Stories don't put you to sleep — they wake you up.* • **A kabbalistic foundation** — *tzimtzum*, *ohr ein sof*, the ten Sefiros, *Kudsha Brich Hu* and *Shechinah*, the unification of back-to-back becoming *panim b'panim* — face to face. • **The three characters** — The King is HaKadosh Baruch Hu. The viceroy is the tzaddik and the part of *you* that takes responsibility. The bas melech is the neshama — the *chelek Eloka mima'al*, the part of you that came from above. • **The story begins** — six sons and one daughter, the king who loved her most, the moment of anger, and the words that flew. *V'nizraka mipiv dibbur* — and a word slipped from his mouth. The Lost Princess vanishes, and the viceroy stands up. • **"Try your best" / Eilech V'anaseh** — a personal story from my father, a*lav hashalom*, who insisted he be buried under the tree in Tveria. *Try your best.* The words that became the name of our learning group. • **Why *lo tov* and not *ra*** — the Rebbe doesn't say the *bad* should take you. He says *lo tov* — the *not-good*. Because there is no such thing as bad. There is only the absence of good. Even the place that looks beautiful — the ballroom, the music, the festivity — can be *lo tov* when there is no real good inside it. • **The "broiges"** — who got angry first, the king or the daughter? The Rebbe deliberately doesn't say. Because in every close relationship — with self, with others, with Hashem — *broiges* will come. That's part of being in relationship. • **The action plan** — the lost princess is the real you, separated from the performance you have built over decades. Start the work of meeting the inner child, the lowercase-t traumas, the buried feelings. Recognition is the first step home. —

torah 4 shiur 1 This shiur discusses the spiritual process of attaining "complete knowledge" (yediya sheleimah), which is the profound realization that every event in a person's life, whether perceived as good or bad, is ultimately for their benefit. Drawing on the teachings of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov, the text explores how this level of consciousness serves as a "glimpse of the World to Come," a state where the divine names of mercy (Havayah) and judgment (Elokim) are recognized as a unified expression of God's love. The shiur identifies the core challenge of how an individual can elevate "holy sovereignty" (malchus) from its state of exile and rectify the spiritual damage caused by sin, which the Rebbe posits is literally engraved upon a person's bones. To address this, the text highlights the essential practice of verbal confession to a Torah scholar (viduy devarim lifnei talmid chacham), explaining that through the power of speech, one can dismantle the "bad combinations" of letters imprinted by sin and restore the world's physicality to its divine source. By using the biblical example of Yehuda's bones being settled through Moshe's intervention, the shiur illustrates how admitting one's shortcomings to a Tzaddik allows a person to bridge the gap between exile and redemption, transforming judgment into a visible manifestation of divine kindness.

B"H After 843 days, our hostages are home. Thank you Hashem. There is so much pain, relief, and complexity in this moment, but one teaching from Rebbe Nachman of Breslov captures its depth: sincere efforts to redeem captives open channels for new life. Every tear, every prayer, every act of responsibility we carried as a people mattered. None of it was wasted. For those who returned alive, may Hashem give them strength to rebuild and to create new life. For those who did not return, may their neshamot be elevated through Torah, mitzvot, good deeds, and future generations named in their honor. This is who we are. A people who chooses life, loves life, and refuses to let hope die. The Power to Rule: Kingship, Leadership & the Path to Mashiach | Rabbi Gartner In this powerful episode, Rabbi Gartner shares a heartfelt message in memory of his father, Yaakov ben Tzvi Kalman (Z"L), tying together themes from the Power to Rule series with the broader mission of Kollel Chatzos Yerushalayim. Building on the legacies of Yosef HaTzaddik, Boaz, Ruth, and David HaMelech, Rabbi Gartner reveals how true Jewish leadership is rooted in compassion, self-sacrifice, and Divine wisdom (daas). Drawing from the book of Ruth and teachings of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, he highlights the traits of real kingship—leaders who give, sustain, and uplift others—not for personal gain, but to serve Hashem and the people. Key themes include: The bridge from Ruth to David: how royal character traits were passed down through selfless acts. Boaz's kindness and the secret of true leadership: giving people a full reward. Why compassion and daas (Divine understanding) are the core of kingship. Rabbi Nachman's vision of unity between the spiritual and physical realms. Reframing poverty: the two types of nedivei lev—those who give their lives for Torah, and those who give their resources to support it. A passionate rebuttal to worldly power structures, contrasting Divine leadership with corrupt worldly systems. This talk serves as a call to action for unity, faith, and support of Torah. It inspires a deeper understanding of our collective mission to build the government of Hashem, bring the Beis HaMikdash, and reveal the light of Mashiach in our days.

Drawing parallels between this concept and the Ten Plagues, Rabbi Bernath delves into how each plague symbolizes a distortion of the ten faculties of the soul, as described in Kabbalah. These ancient episodes of spiritual dysfunction mirror the psychological struggles we face today. Overcoming Pitfalls in Pursuit of Authentic Hisbodedus PracticeIn this video, the speaker shares personal experiences and challenges faced while practicing Hisbodedus, a form of personal prayer in the Breslov tradition. The video discusses two major pitfalls: the first is the pressure to prove one's identity as a Breslov follower by adhering strictly to practices, which can lead to burnout. The second pitfall is the struggle to be genuine and authentic during prayer, which hampers the ability to connect deeply with Hashem. The speaker emphasizes the importance of inward authenticity and self-worth to foster a meaningful and honest relationship with Hashem.00:00 Introduction and Personal Journey00:17 The Pitfall of Proving Self-Worth02:47 Authenticity and Genuine Connection06:05 Conclusion and Final Thoughts

Hisboididus, as taught by the Rebbe, is portrayed as an ultimate means of self-discovery and a powerful spiritual tool that can surpass other religious practices. The discussion includes the challenges one faces in making time for hisboididus, the importance of being alone to connect with oneself and God, and the notion that sincere self-reflection can lead to significant personal and spiritual growth. R' Judah Klein - Torah 25 TinyanaThe Power of Personal Prayer: Connecting with Hashem in Your Own LanguageThis script delves into the concept of 'Hisbodidus'—a personal meditation and prayer practiced primarily within the Breslov tradition. It emphasizes the importance of speaking to Hashem (God) in one's own language rather than using formal, traditional religious language (Lashon HaKodesh). Daily Emunah Podcast - Daily Emunah By Rabbi David Ashear

There's a well-known saying found in many of the sifreh Acharonim , אין דבר עומד בפני הרצון , which literally means nothing can stand in the way of a person's will. Rabbi Menashe Reizman cautioned that misinterpreting this statement can lead to giving people false hope and letdowns. On the surface, this statement seems to be saying that if a person wants something badly enough, with perseverance, he'll eventually get it. But as we know, only Hashem decides if a person gets what he tries to get. A person can try from here until tomorrow, but if Hashem doesn't want him to achieve his goal, he won't achieve it. Everybody is given a different mission in life. Some people are meant to become great Rosheh Yeshiva . Some people are meant to become great baaleh tefilah . Some people are meant to become great in chesed and community service. Not everyone is capable of becoming a Rosh Yeshiva, because Hashem didn't give everyone the brain capacity for it. Of course, everyone is encouraged to become the best they could be, but there are no guarantees when it comes to results. So what does אין דבר העומד בפני הרצון mean? Rabbi Nachman of Breslov explained, אין לך דבר שמונע ממך לרצות - there is nothing that can stop a person from having a will to succeed. Even if a person is not capable of achieving something due to the limitations that Hashem gave him, he can still yearn and dream to become a certain type of person. Results are not in our control, but our will is in our control. A person should want to become great in all areas of Torah and mitzvot. He has to wish that he can pray like the greats of all time. He has to wish that he can learn Torah like the greats of all time. He has to wish that he can have the middot of the greats of all time. And the list goes on. We are always obligated to do what is in our control, and a major part of that is getting ourselves to want greatness. If someone is not capable of sitting for many hours straight learning Torah, he can still serve Hashem with his will to want to do that. We must put in our full effort and try to accomplish our goals, but we should not get discouraged if we aren't successful. If we wanted it and we tried hard, we were automatically successful. And if it has been determined that in a certain area something is beyond our capabilities, we can still continue to serve Hashem in that same area with our yearning alone. We once mentioned the Panim Yafot in the name of the Arizal, on the pasuk in Yeshayah perek 54, רוני עקרה לו ילדה . The barren one should rejoice, כי רבים בני שוממה מבני בעולה because she has more children than the ones who are able to have children. How do we understand this? How could a barren woman be better off with children than a woman who has children? The answer is, the barren woman yearns for children, and she has the purest intentions. She begs Hashem for a child, just so she could raise it in the ways of Torah and mitzvot. She dreams of having the perfect child that she's going to invest so much time and energy in, a child that will bring Hashem so much satisfaction. This desire of the barren woman is producing the holiest neshamot that actually come down into this world. The physical bodies may be from other families, but the holy neshamot they are producing and they will be rewarded for all eternity for what their pure intentions have produced. Nothing can ever get in the way of a person's will. As we approach the Yamim Nora'im , it is an opportune time to work on desiring greatness, to want to be the best in all areas of Torah and mitzvot, and b'ezrat Hashem, Hashem will see our pure intentions and efforts and bless them with siyata d'Shamaya .
