Before we merrily skip into October and kick off a fun Halloween month for Podzooky, it's FROG SEASON! The Hollywood Kaiju bad boys Brandon, Martin and Luke had on Chicago comedian and frog appreciator Liz Stockwell to talk about the 1988 cult classic Hell comes to Frogtown. It's yet another great episode full of hot frog ladies, the impressive catalog of Donald G. Jackson and Randy Newman. Also a CW: this movie has more sexual assault in it than we were expecting so there's some discussion on that trend in 80's movies.
This week I called Chicago comic Chelsea Hood to talk about when she contracted Covid-19 last spring, comedy, and hummingbirds. Check out Chelsea's handmade masks at Chicago Mask Project and follow her on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/chelshood Our live story comes from Liz Stockwell. Liz told the story of a mysterious bout of diarrhea that lasted for two whole weeks. Liz is a Chicago performer. Today your beautiful hosts Collin and Ron are joined by noted non-actress Liz Stockwell to talk all about the little show that could! Starting on Minneapolis public access TV and going all the way to Comedy Central and the Sci Fi Channel, Mystery Science Theatre 3000 changed the face of bad movies everywhere! They break down the best bad movies covered, the long term effects of the show's popularity, and how shitty it is to talk during movies! All of that, plus movie news and a rousing game of Lundegren or Cage! Thanks for listening and see you at the concession stand!
