Welcome to China Compass on the Fight Laugh Feast Network! I'm your China travel guide, Missionary Ben, coming to you today (tomorrow?) from Hong Kong, my old stomping grounds! I begin by talking about how Hong Kong has changed (or not) over the last 20 or so years, and look at a couple of recent news articles that deal with the changes (0:18). Next, I go into more detail about the Hong Kong changeover in 1997 (23:46). Then, I talk about China’s tariff situation and laughable propaganda attempt (35:30), before finishing with a moving missionary martyr story and our weekly Pray for China segment (47:35). “I've reported dozens to the police”, says Hong Kong Pro-China Informer https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c87p97w72exo How Hong Kong Came Under ‘One Country, Two Systems’ Rule https://www.history.com/articles/hong-kong-china-great-britain Unbeaten: My Arrest, Interrogation, and Deportation from China Unbeaten.vip (Please read and review!) Cuff Daddy and The American Pharaoh catch up with their old buddy Dr. Navid Nazemi—chiropractor, golf junkie, and lowkey philosopher. We talk about how he stumbled into chiropractic school, what it's like running a practice, and why teamwork between docs actually matters. There's plenty of bro-science, a little real science, and just enough introspection to make you think “huh, maybe there's something to this.” We get into sports med, cracking backs, and whether music can actually heal—or at least make the OR playlist a little less trash. Oh, and podcasting? Way harder than it looks. Bonus Round: We built the Ultimate OR Bangers playlist so your next case has zero skips.
Chuck Heinz and Jamie Lent talk about Texas Tech football upgrades since 1995, MLK, comments from Tim Tadlock, Tech football road games in 2025, and turtle necks.

It's World Piano Day! I've made several mixes over the years for Piano Day and each time I wonder if I'll find enough tracks for an interesting mix. And every year it comes together and surprises me with how much I like the finished set. This mix starts with a tune everyone should be familiar with - Eno's Music For Airports 1/2. This recording is by Bruce Brubaker from his fine EP - Eno Piano 2. To make things interesting I played two tracks from it simultaneously and I think it worked pretty well. While collecting tracks for the mix I was happy to find a piano album from Daniel Lanois. It's from 2022 and I had no idea it existed. I'm a big fan of the Necks so I was also excited to use one of their tracks for the first time. At least I think I've never used their music in a mix before. How do you feel about your neck? Maybe you only think about it when you’re sore from sleeping wrong or from sitting at a desk all day. But for centuries, humans have worried about their necks, decorated them with jewelry and clothes and ties, and exploited their weaknesses with knives and garrotes and guillotines. This hour, a look at necks — human and animal. Plus, the history and symbolism of the classic turtleneck. Carey starts of this episode with a “Welcome back arís, to the warm embrace…of the It's All Music Podcast”… it goes from there! Carey just came from getting the D.O.E on his van, which leads the lads down a path of broken windscreens, Ace Ventura, the Titanic, shifting in the cinema, back to the D.O.E and eventually on to servicing music gear and instruments. The convenience of using a phone and “ultimate guitar” at gigs for songs, lyrics & chords is revisited and the lads use each of there phones to go over a couple of songs live.Having a couple of pints of a Monday night is discussed and the hardship it brings with it… “Sweaty Necks & Regret”Plenty of chat, laughs & stories in between with a few cover songs thrown in ‘off the cuff'. Ali Dajani grew up in Jordan and studied in Canada, where he met KP, the friend that sits down with him in his Amsterdam home to read Gaza Monologue #1: the story of Ahmad El Ruzzi. Ali's paternal grandfather left Jerusalem in 1948. "What happened in 1948?" our radio friend asks. They both laugh. She apologizes for her ignorance. He begins to explain. Discussions of whether the cute-ass canals and oh-my-god-there's-a-boat's will become his permanent home frame the recording of the first monologue in Ashtar Theatre's play: Ahmad El Ruzzi from Al Wehda street, who was 17 years old when he wrote the story of his experience of power outages, trust issues and karma.PLEASE DONATE TO OUR FRIENDS FROM GAZA WHO LOST EVERYTHING AND I MEAN EVERYTHING. If you can afford it: consider donating a thousand dollars and giving up 2 - 5 fancy dinners or 10 take-out meals for you and your boo — if 150 people donate 1k each, these young people don't have to wait and watch donations trickle in over the course of the next few months. Afford them the security of knowing they have some power over their future.

Science commentator Allan Blackman joins Kathryn to talk about the New Caledonian fork fern which now holds the record for the largest amount of DNA stored in its nucleus of any living organism on the planet. He'll also look at the stromatolites found in Saudi Arabia that are believed to be the earliest geological record of life on Earth. And it turns out the evolution of the length of giraffe's neck was driven by food, not sex. Allan Blackman is a Professor of Chemistry, School of Science, Auckland University of Technology.
We chat with #HollerNation and Bethy Allen, co-founder of Socially Distant Fest (https://facebook.com/groups/sociallydistantfest), a collective of artists, musicians, painters, and other talented people sharing their gifts live on the Web since the pandemic. Over 170k members strong, Socially Distant Fest showcases music, art, yoga, meditation, tarot readings, even pickle art and rollerskating in a closet. We also play a great round of Feud to give away CAMO Energy Shots (https://camo.energy), decide whether to kill a rando for $10,000 by the press of a button, and what others think is sexy that we don't. And Gracie and Nathan forgot about the turkey in their oven. #AfterSpoiler, the turkey was delicious. #ToeBoners #Holler #CAMOEnergy

Dr. Mike Brasher recently joined the crew from Campus Waterfowl for an opportunity to reconnect with his roots, as he shared a soggy morning in the cypress swamp with current and former students of his alma mater, Mississippi State University. This episode, which originally aired on Campus Waterfowl, recaps an exciting ring-neck hunt and shines a spotlight on the passion this group has for waterfowl and wetland conservation through their work on the Mississippi State chapter of Ducks Unlimited. Joining on the podcast were Derek Christians of Campus Waterfowl and Drew Brown and Hunter Yelverton from Mississippi State. The group also discussed duckDNA, the exciting project that is connecting duck hunters with scientists to inform some of today's most ground-breaking research. www.ducks.org/DUPodcastwww.campuswaterfowl.com
With a majority of Americans opposing further US involvement in the Israel/Gaza conflict, President Biden is finding that within his own Democratic Party support for his approach is even softer. Younger voters are solidly opposed to further US support for Israel's continued assault on Gaza. That is why while Biden's initial reaction tracked more closely with his neocon views, he is furiously backpedaling under pressure from his own party. Also today: Rep. Massie is the lone "no" vote on another anti-free speech House Resolution.
