Ashlee Buzzard is now charged with first-degree murder in the death of her 9-year-old daughter Melodee Buzzard. According to prosecutors, Ashlee shot Melodee multiple times in the head and left her body in a remote Utah desert. But the path to this arrest took over two months — and the reason why is infuriating. Investigators knew almost immediately that something was wrong. On October 7th, 2025, Ashlee rented a car and took Melodee on a road trip spanning eight states. Surveillance footage showed both wearing wigs. Ashlee allegedly swapped license plates mid-trip and backed into gas stations to avoid cameras. On October 9th, Melodee was captured on surveillance near the Colorado-Utah border. It was the last time she was seen alive. Ashlee came home the next day — alone. She never explained where Melodee was. She never cooperated. Investigators surveilled her around the clock, executed multiple search warrants, and found a spent shell casing in her home. But without a body, they couldn't prove murder. That changed December 6th when photographers in Utah's Wayne County discovered remains on a dirt road. Ballistics linked the scene to Ashlee's home. DNA confirmed it was Melodee. Ashlee was arrested December 23rd and pleaded not guilty. Melodee's grandmother — who hadn't seen her in years — received a call from detectives: "The baby is with her dad now." Melodee's father died when she was six months old. No motive. No murder weapon. No answers. Just a 9-year-old who deserved so much better. #AshleeBuzzard #MelodeeBuzzard #TrueCrimePodcast #CaliforniaCrime #JusticeForMelodee #TrueCrimeAudio #FBI #UtahCrime #Lompoc #HiddenKillers Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISDOES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? TALK TO ME, TEXT ITHeadlines screamed about a flashy gambling scandal, but we weren't buying the outrage. Instead, we turned the mic toward something personal and practical: the day we chose to stop hiding hair loss and start living bald on purpose. From the last clumps in the shower to a no-nonsense barbershop shave and an unremarkable lunch in public, this is a grounded look at confidence, not a self-help monologue. No melodrama, no pity—just honest steps, clean lines, and a lighter head.We share why empty scandal bait fails to earn our attention, especially when bigger harms deserve the spotlight. Then we walk through the real decision points of alopecia: taking hard photos, trusting instincts, picking a barber who executes, and discovering that strangers mostly don't care—liberating proof that much of the fear is a mirror-made story. Wigs get a reset, too: wear them for joy, not survival. That spirit launched The Bald Icon, a space to normalize bald beauty without turning it into a crisis. If you're teetering between one more cover-up and a fresh start, you'll find practical tips, hard-won perspective, and a few laughs about expectations versus reality. We close with a simple prompt to get you talking and remembering the journeys that shaped you. Hit play, share with someone who needs a nudge toward self-trust, and tell us your take. "Hollywood was swarming with gay people."You know how Pedro Pascal hasn't come out yet? Well: this episode will explain why.Between the 1930s and 1960s, the Hays Code banned “sexual perversion” of all kinds from the silver screen, which (spoiler alert) meant queers. That has bequeathed us a predominantly homophobic industry in Hollywood, even if the stars and culture have always been decidedly – how do you say? – VERY GAY.This week we dive into the queerness of Hollywood's first Golden Age.We cover:The pre-Code era archetypes of pansies, sissies, butches, and sapphics, oh my!The Code's first filmic victim: a 1936 adaptation of Lillian Hellman's thesbian stage classic The Children's HourHitchcock's Rope, featuring two fascist dandy murderers whose day jobs included playing the piano and being fantastically richThe legacy of homophobia and queer desire in post-Code films up to the presentThis week, Bash is joined by film critic and filmmaker, Michael Koresky, who is the recent author of Sick and Dirty: Hollywood's Gay Golden Age and the Making of Modern Queerness — a love letter to the sly, coded, and deeply horny films that the uptight, antisemitic, racist, homophobic, Catholic censors forced out of the era's greatest artists.Hollywood was always swarming with queers, as Michael puts it, but people weren't naïve or stupid. We saw the signs – and we shot each other furtive glances as we hid our brain-boners...

The Bald and the Beautiful with Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamo
In this impeccably-coiffed episode, Trixie and Katya luxuriate in the cultural gravitas of wigs: those mercurial crowns of artifice, seduction, and spectacle. Act Two detonates with an opulent, penetrating dissection of Weapons, that brooding cinematic masterwork whose themes of menace and morality gleam as dazzlingly as a freshly-honed rapier. The final act pirouettes into both low and high philosophy, as our heroines distill lustrous insights on identity, power, and performance from a sumptuous knot of tresses and manual flatbed trucks. The exceedingly large amount of wit and wonder contained herein affirms that beauty, like battle, demands both audacity and discriminating discernment. This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. The Bald and the Beautiful with Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamo
A storm of lace bodices and shattered dreams erupts as Trixie and Katya revisit Episodes 5 and 6, where the workroom transformed into a bloody battlefield and destiny itself teetered on stilettos. Katya, radiant yet tormented, recalls the soaring ecstasy of comedic victory before plunging into the abyss of crippling self-doubt, her every glance a silent scream for redemption. With the dual crucibles of Shakespearean tragedy and a sinister Snatch Game, crowns were forged and egos were obliterated. The legendary Ru Hollywood Stories challenge unfurled like a telenovela within a telenovela, blurring fiction and truth in a tempest of wigs and weeping. In this operatic retelling, Trixie and Katya render the runway not as mere fabric and dime store wigs, but as an altar upon which laughter, heartbreak, and RuPaul's merciless decree were sacrificed in the name of drag divinity.
