In story one, we discuss the puzzling case of Lori Erica Ruff. Lori took all her secrets to the grave when she was found dead in her vehicle from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Christmas Eve 2010. Soon, Lori’s husband realizes he didn’t actually know his wife at all. It’s not until 6 years after her death, he finds out her true identity. This bizarre case will forever raise the question... How well do you actually know those closest to you? Story two is about Anatoly Moskvin, AKA “The Russian Doll Man”. Moskvin, who was later deemed paranoid schizophrenic, was arrested in 2011 after the mummified corpses of 26 girls between the ages of 3 and 25 were discovered in the apartment he shared with his parents.
Lori Erica Kennedy met Blake Ruff at a bible study class in Dallas and they clicked instantly. The two courted, eloped, and then moved away and had a daughter. Lori, who was already kind of a recluse, started acting very erratically. She was alienating Blake's family and becoming extremely protective of their daughter, not letting her out of her sight ever. When Blake finally couldn't continue with the marriage things take a shocking and tragic turn. Please let us know what you thought of this case! It really took us by surprise. -The Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/AlmostPodThe Website: almostpod.comInstagram: instagram.com/almostpodFacebook: facebook.com/almostpodTwitter: twitter.com/AlmostATCpod-Please rate and review us wherever you're listening, we love those 5 stars almost as much as we love champagne.-If you have any questions, comments, concerns, suggestions, or corrections, you can email us at almostpod@gmail.com !!-Intro by the amazing Rux Ton: https://www.facebook.com/rukkuston

Vaikka Lorin oikea henkilöllisyys on saatu selville, kukaan ei edelleenkään tiedä, miksi Lori päätti aloittaa elämänsä alusta toisen ihmisen henkilöllisyyden avulla.Ilmainen Identity Theft Checker -työkalu sähköpostin tarkistamista varten: https://www.f-secure.com/fi/home/free-tools/identity-theft-checkerF-Secure ID Protection ohjelma: https://www.f-secure.com/fi/home/products/id-protectionRikosuhripäivystys: https://www.riku.fi/palvelut/rikosuhripaivystys-116-006/ puh. 116 006Raiskauskriisikeskus: https://tukinainen.fi/ puh. 0800–97899Apua lähisuhdeväkivaltaan: https://www.nollalinja.fi/ puh. 080005005Suomen Mielenterveysseura: https://mieli.fi/fi Kriisipuhelin: 09 2525 0111Ota yhteyttä: jaljillapodcast@gmail.comInstagram: @jaljillapodcastMusiikki: Doug Maxwell - Heartbeat of the HoodLÄHTEET:Kirja: The Woman in the Strongbox (Maureen O'Hagan)https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/special-reports/my-god-thats-kimberly-online-sleuth-solves-perplexing-mystery-of-identity-thief-lori-ruff/https://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/texas/article/Mystery-woman-After-30-years-and-a-suicide-Lori-9239232.phphttps://the-line-up.com/lori-ruffhttps://web.archive.org/web/20161011162556/http://old.seattletimes.com/html/localnews/2021243552_janedoexml.htmlhttps://www.foxnews.com/us/three-years-after-texas-womans-suicide-a-question-lingers-who-was-shehttps://www.riku.fi/erilaisia-rikoksia/identiteettivarkaus-2/https://www.iltalehti.fi/kotimaa/a/90e3c83d-059d-43b4-979e-b11ae506086ehttps://op.media/teemat/ihmiset/identiteettivarkaus-piinasi-mikkoa-viisi-vuotta:-%22sain-kymppitonnin-laskut-ja-osoitteeni-siirrettiin-kilpisjarvelle%22-ed9e37ac7f6048e884ec9c9987413cdahttps://yle.fi/uutiset/3-8255013 See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

After the suicide of Lori Erica Ruff in 2010 it was found that she had been living under a false identity for most of her life. In September of 2016 this six year old mystery was supposedly solved. But is it?? Why did Kimberly McLean leave home at the age of 18 and assume, not one, but two different identities? I'm not sure we will ever know.Huge thank you to Rachel who did an amazing job on this episode as listener co-host for the week!!
Where do people go when they disappear? The idea that a person can just vanish is inarguably mysterious, and that element of mystery seems to capture the public imagination each time such an event is reported. One line of conjecture that inevitably arises in the wake of a person going missing is, 'maybe they just left to start a new life.' This idea seems to be something of an urban legend. In fact, there are many urban legends surrounding these mysterious missing persons cases. From alleged amnesia, to falsified ransom notes, there are many ways in which people who wish to start over justify their absences. Though the stories of missing persons are as varied as they are numerous, statistically speaking; these disappearances are much more likely to be the results of foul play or accidents, than carefully orchestrated schemes to start over somewhere new. Can a person just walk away from his or her life? Is such a thing even possible, especially in this day and age? This week we will examine the difficulty of leaving behind a well established life without a trace. We will explore the recent case of someone who seems to have successfully hit the reset button, and left the world guessing at her reasons and methods, Lori Erica Ruff. We will also take a look at some extraordinary stories of historical incidents of staged kidnappings and high profile disappearances (and reappearances). We'll conclude with a discussion of the very strange case of mystery author, Agatha Christie. Welcome back to the Nowhere Dispatch. Earlier this year, I heard about a case of identity theft while digging around online for creepy stories. I stumbled upon the strange case of Lori Erica Ruff. A few months later, I came across the story again, only to find that the mysterious case had been solved in the meantime. I dug deeper and discovered that the case had revolved around my hometown. I'll tell you all about the efforts of many people who investigated to find out just who the hell this mysterious woman was and how she came to a tragic end in my town just a few years ago. Listen in and be puzzled, nowhere wanderers.
