From Alexander the Great being buried alive to one man paying to watch a little girl be cannibalized, some real-life horror stories are too horrifying even for “Rated R” Hollywood. Stories in this episode are more graphic than what you usually hear from me – so listener discretion is advised, and I'd make sure the children are well out of earshot. Will Kelsey and Pamela agree?
Anatoly Moskvin, a genius turned madman and criminal, was a scholar of many things; Celtic history and folklore was one of his favorite study points. 45-year-old Mr Anatoly Moskvin, regarded as a genius in Languages and History, held a macabre secret beneath the veneer of his seemingly ordinary, slightly isolated life… He also had developed intimate, expert-level knowledge on funerals and cemeteries across his country. And, on a cold November day in 2011, police made the chilling discovery of the mummified remains of 26 young girls in his apartment - all meticulously dressed and lined-up as life-sized dolls. Thus was born the name: The Human Dollmaker… Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

A respected Russian professor dug up and mummified deceased children – only girls and young women - made them into “living dolls” and posed them in his apartment. Anatoly Moskvin is a former Russian university professor, cemetery expert / self-proclaimed “necropolyst”, researcher and necromancer. He was held in very high esteem in academic circles in his native city of Nizhny Novgorod. He taught himself 13 languages and is well-traveled. He also had a disturbing unhealthy obsession with death and dead bodies. He dug up deceased girls and young women only, all aged between 3 and 25, and turned them into "living doll”. He then posed them in his apartment. 1 Despite living with him, his parents claim they never suspected a thing. What caused this macabre behavior and his love of cemeteries? Are his parents lying? We discuss it all in this episode of Dubious. 2 1. William DeLon Anatoly Moskvin, The Genius Russian Historian Who Collected Dead Girls Like Dolls All That's Interesting, March 2023 ⇤2. Dolls, those eerie, lifeless figures designed to mimic human form, occupy a strange and unsettling place in our psyche, often stirring a blend of intrigue and fear. As rational adults, we typically view dolls as mere objects made of plastic, porcelain, or other synthetic materials. But...what if a doll was not made out of artificial elements? What if the doll was, in actuality, human? This horrifying case delves into the nightmarish world of a twisted 55-year-old Russian man named Anatoly Moskvin, who harbored a disturbing penchant for digging up and “immortalizing” dead children by turning them into dolls.
