Master Mark Hutton is one of those people I love to chat with. He doesn't mince words and shoots straight from the hip; he is just the kind of person I like. Master Hutton is known throughout TKD circles as an inspirational character who practices what he preaches, which is another thing I like about him. I was pleased to catch up with him and chat about all things TKD and why returning to some of the old ways will be necessary. Chatting to him it is clear that he loves to help people and that is the sign of a true martial artist. if you ever get to speak with him, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. However, beware as he tells it like it is.I hope you enjoy our chat. Mark Hutton unpacks the intricacies of investing in the niche of Residential Assisted Living (RAL) within the commercial real estate sector. Mark sheds light on why RAL is becoming an appealing asset for investors, the synergies of combining the real estate with the operating business, and the pivotal role of SBA-backed loans in this space. Key Takeaways: RAL's Appeal: With traditional long-term hold properties offering lower cash flow due to prevailing interest rates, RAL presents a lucrative opportunity for investors seeking higher returns. SBA-Backed Loans in RAL: These loans provide certain advantages such as long-term fixed rates and high LTVs, making them a preferred choice in the RAL space. However, they also come with specific controls like pre-defined lease terms. Learning from the Best: Mark emphasizes the importance of seeking mentorship and learning from those already successful in the RAL space, ensuring faster progress and fewer pitfalls. Master Mark HuttonMaster Hutton began training in 1981 under Master Sutherland who was assistant to GM MacCallum in Bathgate which is located in Central Scotland.Bathgate was a successful full-time Academy when he joined and was always steeped in TKD tradition with First Grand Master Rhee a regular visitor for grading. This ensured the Academy was ITF to the core.Master Hutton's classes always centre around the importance of ensuring all his students and Instructors are well versed in all aspects of TKD from explosive fundamentals (dynamic & static) and Tuls to Ho Sin Sul for all, with emphasis on the devastating power and skill that so many students who focus solely on competition rarely understand/enjoy.
