Natalie Jurado is a Magnesium Expert on a mission to spread awareness about this often-overlooked mineral. You see, it wasn't that long ago that she spent most of her days constantly anxious, stressed and overwhelmed. Despite living a healthy lifestyle: eating organic foods, exercising and using healthy products, she was still dealing with health issues.Her doctors kept encouraging her to use prescription meds, but she was concerned about all the side effects. Instead, she started a journey to heal herself naturally. She spent thousands of dollars and years of her life looking for a solution to the crippling anxiety, chronic pain and devastating insomnia that was stopping her from living the life she craved. She started using magnesium daily on her skin, and her life changed! She began feeling calm and centred, had tons of energy, slept restfully through the night and felt years younger.She reclaimed her life and wants others to have the same freedom and vitality she enjoys now. Her mission is to share this miracle mineral with the world so they can be their most vibrant, healthy and energetic selves. Magnesium is responsible for over 300 biochemical reactions in the body, including muscle recovery. Deficiency is strongly correlated with symptoms including anxiety and depression, insomnia, chronic headaches and more. Restoring magnesium levels can be confusing, leaving people overwhelmed and misinformed. I hope to demystify this mineral and help people make better health choices. Rick Koenig embarked on a remarkable journey when he began martial arts training at 4. Growing up in New Jersey, Rick had a unique upbringing, as their father owned pizzerias, where they actively participated in running and working. In later years, Rick transitioned into the security world, working at nightclubs in Philadelphia and New Jersey. During this time, Rick had the opportunity to cross paths with notable figures like Paul Wight II and provided security for legendary individuals such as Mike Tyson and Dennis Rodman. However, life took a challenging turn as Rick found himself entangled in "mob connections," leading him down a troubling path that ultimately resulted in imprisonment alongside his father in the maximum-state security prisons of the Department of Corrections in New Jersey.Upon Rick's release, he exhibited resilience and determination by purchasing and owning MMA facilities while pursuing a career as a professional fighter in the late 1980s. In 2009, Rick relocated to Branson, Missouri, and opened his MMA school. In martial arts, Rick played a significant role in training law enforcement personnel and even became a member of the 1% Biker's Club, showcasing his commitment to the craft. Life dealt Rick further challenges as he faced separation and the heart-wrenching disappearance of his oldest son for two years. Although his son was eventually found, his son's passing under suspicious circumstances cast a shadow of doubt and conspiracy theories. Rick courageously confronted his struggles with alcohol addiction, triumphing over this formidable adversary. Today, Rick has transitioned into his full-time role at his gym, dedicating his energy to training others and serving as an inspiration, leader, and mentor. His journey is a testament to resilience, personal growth, and the unwavering pursuit of a better future.I hope you enjoy our chat.I'd be grateful if you could leave a review for the Living Martial Arts podcast using the following links: Apple podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/living-martial-arts/id1558703179Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/3MDv2bt1ORsKpD4158cqLA?si=Q9Klv5iQQhOaXiXwhp-OdAPodchaser - https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450Sign up for the newsletter now! at; https://www.livingmartialarts.com

Mr Lawrence Warry was a student from my early years as a young martial arts teacher. Specific individuals enter your school, and they immediately make a significant impact on everyone within your school, usually without even knowing the impact they've made. Lawrence Warry is one of those students who had a significant impact on my school because of his courtesy, humility, and willingness always to do what was asked of him. I loved when he was in class because he was one of those students that made me a better teacher.It was an absolute pleasure to talk with him about the old days and where his martial arts journey has taken him.I feel very blessed to have been part of his journey.I hope you enjoy our chat.I'd be grateful if you could leave a review for the Living Martial Arts podcast using the following links: Apple podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/living-martial-arts/id1558703179Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/3MDv2bt1ORsKpD4158cqLA?si=Q9Klv5iQQhOaXiXwhp-OdAPodchaser - https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450Sign up for the newsletter now! at; https://www.livingmartialarts.com
Master Mark Hutton is one of those people I love to chat with. He doesn't mince words and shoots straight from the hip; he is just the kind of person I like. Master Hutton is known throughout TKD circles as an inspirational character who practices what he preaches, which is another thing I like about him. I was pleased to catch up with him and chat about all things TKD and why returning to some of the old ways will be necessary. Chatting to him it is clear that he loves to help people and that is the sign of a true martial artist. if you ever get to speak with him, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Rebecca Hanser is a director, writer, producer, and actress based in London for screen, stage, and mocap. She is known for the feature films Portal to the Abyss (2024), Parasitus (2021), Blade of the Assassin (2021) and the short films Third Life Crisis (2023), the award-winning Ghosted (2022) and A Tribute to Frida (2021).At an early age, she already loved films and says she learned English by "simply watching a lot of movies". The acting bug only kicked in at a much later age as she developed a passion for writing. She pursued an impressive academic career before giving in to acting. She studied International Business Management at The Hague University (BSc) and Anthropology and Journalism (MA) at the renowned Leiden University. Surviving college through jobs in modelling and hospitality, she says that studying allowed her to travel the world. As a result, she speaks several languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, German, and French, as well as her native Dutch and English.She started growing more interested in acting, and after several successful Dutch film projects like Poolshoogte (2014), she moved to London to train at the prestigious Drama Centre London to obtain her third master's degree in screen acting (MA). The classes mixed actor students with director students, giving her a taste of work behind the camera. She joined theatre company The People's Company as an in-house cast member during this period. She was featured in one of their biggest productions, Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream (2019), as fairy queen Titania in collaboration with the Southwark Playhouse. She performed on stage and toured the UK with the Extreme Improv Comedy Club, directed by David Pustansky. Around this time, she also became passionate about Flamenco dance, which led to the short documentary Andalusia (2018). The latest stage performance was for the show "Pigs" produced by SweinHaus and took place at the Cockpit Theatre in London.I hope you enjoy our chat.Check out these links to find out more about: www.rebeccahanser.com www.instagram.com/rebecca_hanser/IMDB actors profile: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm6635126/?ref_=tt_ov_stIMDB Portal to the Abyss: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt30848809/?ref_=nm_flmg_t_1_actTrailer Portal to the Abyss I'd be grateful if you could leave a review for the Living Martial Arts podcast using the following links: Apple podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/living-martial-arts/id1558703179Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/3MDv2bt1ORsKpD4158cqLA?si=Q9Klv5iQQhOaXiXwhp-OdAPodchaser - https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450Sign up for the newsletter now! at;
Duncan Perry commenced his martial arts journeys in the 1970s. He's very modest and a nice guy. Although I don't know him well, I suspect he's an excellent, caring teacher. Like many of us who started back then, he gained inspiration from watching the kung fu series on TV.He started Lau Gar Kung Fu with Sifu Frank Linch as a youngster in the brutal days of martial arts. His Karate journey began in Castleford, and he's been part of the Mushin Kai legacy built by Alfie Lewis. Mr Perry has participated in several martial arts disciplines but is still excited about what the arts can do for others. We chatted about his love for Disney and psychology. That seems like a strange combination, but it works for him. He was warm, and I felt like I'd known him for years.I hope you enjoy our chat.I'd be grateful if you could leave a review for the Living Martial Arts podcast using the following links: Apple podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/living-martial-arts/id1558703179Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/3MDv2bt1ORsKpD4158cqLA?si=Q9Klv5iQQhOaXiXwhp-OdAPodchaser - https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450Sign up for the newsletter now! at; https://www.livingmartialarts.com

Mike Ilderton is a lovely gentleman who has practised several Japanese arts. He is the oldest martial artist with whom I have spoken. He has a genuine love for the traditional side of his art, which reflects the time he has spent in practice and the era in which he started his journey. Mike Sensei is an inspiration to all of us who love and practice martial arts. It's great to speak with someone who has made it his way of life for so long.I hope you enjoy our chat:See Lee system in action here: https://www.facebook.com/messenger_media/?attachment_id=1683181158831911&message_id=mid.%24gAFXM2eMkheaRXrysY2LLXdk21_nB&thread_id=24150609211196902I'd be grateful if you could leave a review for the Living Martial Arts podcast using the following links: Apple podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/living-martial-arts/id1558703179Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/3MDv2bt1ORsKpD4158cqLA?si=Q9Klv5iQQhOaXiXwhp-OdAPodchaser - https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450Sign up for the newsletter now! at; https://www.livingmartialarts.com
It's great doing this podcast because I get to chat with many different kinds of people from all combat backgrounds. My guest on this one was a nice guy who was introduced to me through a mutual friend. I have to say, I enjoyed our conversation. Lee has had experience with several different martial arts. At one point in his journey, he turned to swimming and weight training to get his physical fix. Lee also has a real passion for nunchaku and has developed his system of combat nunchaku. Check out the link below to see more about his system. If you want to get into nunchaku, you can't go far wrong with chatting with Lee; he's a nice and approachable guy.I hope you enjoy our chat:See Lee system in action here: https://www.facebook.com/messenger_media/?attachment_id=1683181158831911&message_id=mid.%24gAFXM2eMkheaRXrysY2LLXdk21_nB&thread_id=24150609211196902I'd be grateful if you could leave a review for the Living Martial Arts podcast using the following links: Apple podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/living-martial-arts/id1558703179Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/3MDv2bt1ORsKpD4158cqLA?si=Q9Klv5iQQhOaXiXwhp-OdAPodchaser - https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450Sign up for the newsletter now! at; https://www.livingmartialarts.com
I came across Team Tizick many years ago through a mutual friend. I found them very eager and keen to learn, and they also seemed passionate about passing Taekwon-Do on to others. They currently run and manage their dojang with classes that appeal to all ages. They are incredibly active in all areas of martial arts and, judging by their Facebook posts, are very busy supporting their students on the tournament circuit. It was good to catch up with them and discuss their journey.You can find out more about Team Tizick and their range of classes at https://www.tstmartialarts.com/I hope you enjoy our chat.I'd be grateful if you could leave a review for the Living Martial Arts podcast using the following links: Apple podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/living-martial-arts/id1558703179Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/3MDv2bt1ORsKpD4158cqLA?si=Q9Klv5iQQhOaXiXwhp-OdAPodchaser - https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450Sign up for the newsletter now! at; https://www.livingmartialarts.com
Danny Dowling is an unusual guest because he no longer does martial arts. However, he did pursue his journey from childhood to his older years. That journey saw him reach the highest levels of competition and eventually become part of the GB Taekwondo squad. Danny talks about the reality of being a GB competitor who must keep performing to retain his funding. It's very tough at the top, and Danny outlines precisely how tough it is. Although he no longer does martial arts, he puts that time and passion into pushing weights and becoming a great sparky. I hope that Danny will one day restart his martial journey, as I believe he has so much to offer to the combative community.I'm sure that Danny and I will talk again in the future.I hope you enjoy our chat.I'd be grateful if you could leave a review for the Living Martial Arts podcast using the following links: Apple podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/living-martial-arts/id1558703179Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/3MDv2bt1ORsKpD4158cqLA?si=Q9Klv5iQQhOaXiXwhp-OdAPodchaser - https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450Sign up for the newsletter now! at; https://www.livingmartialarts.com

The Dark Master catches up with his friend, Grandmaster Don Dalton, for another chat.Under the Presidency of Grandmaster Master Don Dalton, the rise of ITF UNION has been meteoric. In over six years, the organisation has propelled itself into the forefront of the art with astounding growth made during that time. ITF UNION is now in more than 60 countries, with new members constantly joining.GM Dalton began his training under the watchful eye of Master Patrick McCarthy in Tralee in the South West of Ireland. After Master McCarthy emigrated to teach in London in 1985, GM Dalton began training under the Irish Taekwon-Do Pioneer Grandmaster Norman Creedon in Cork City.I love chatting with GM Dalton as he is the kind of person GMs should be. First and foremost, Master David Sheppard is a lovely person. Like many martial arts teachers I know, he's passionate about giving his students all the help and support they need and much more. He's one of those guys who continually goes the extra mile.I first saw Master Sheppard many years ago when he was a young lad making his way up the ranks as a competitor. At that time, he had a unique fighting style that I tried to copy without success. I can honestly say that Master David Sheppard was the first person I saw use a front-leg machine gun sidekick with such precision and accuracy that it blew my mind. I believe his machine gun kick has been copied by many but equalled by none. I talk about his famous sidekick and other things martial arts related.It was lovely to catch up with him and confirm that he hasn't changed and is still lovely.I hope you enjoy our chat as much as I did.I'd be grateful if you could leave a review for the Living Martial Arts podcast using the following links: Apple podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/living-martial-arts/id1558703179Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/3MDv2bt1ORsKpD4158cqLA?si=Q9Klv5iQQhOaXiXwhp-OdAPodchaser - https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450Sign up for the newsletter now! at; https://www.livingmartialarts.com

In this podcast we are inviting in The Dark Master for a quick little bite of our review of Renfield: a movie about a barely remembered, secondary character who is often left out of the Dracula narrative for expedience... but here he's also a super powered sad boy. Together we will find out if it is a delicious little cinematic morsel with a huge pumping heart, or if it just plain sucks. It's all vampire puns all the time folks! Our reviewers are the deliciously vampy Jill, and the bizarre love-child of Abbot and Costello PLUS the Bela Lugosi version of Dracula. (Or Dion and Quinny as they are more commonly known.) https://youtu.be/yni9FuIcG-E A huge shout out to the vampire hunters and blood suckers who joined in the conversation on the live-chat during the Twitch stream this week (and every week!) Master Russell Dennis is not someone I know very well. However, we have met and spoken on a few occasions, and my impression of him has always been he's a really nice guy. That impression was reinforced when I spoke with him about his fascinating martial arts journey. Master Dennis is unusual because many students make the transition from a traditional martial art like Taekwon-Do to the sport of kickboxing. Not many students, particularly those in the more mature category, go from conventional martial arts to MMA. Master Russell has done that, which is one reason I wanted to chat with him.I hope you enjoy the chat. I'm sure you'll conclude that he's a nice man.Check out Master Russell Dennis in action using the following links: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43_XCUIv7kkhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bg659h10Z1A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bSIKkWOPGY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbNP007B0uYI'd be grateful if you could leave a review for the living martial arts podcast using the following links: Apple podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/living-martial-arts/id1558703179Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/3MDv2bt1ORsKpD4158cqLA?si=Q9Klv5iQQhOaXiXwhp-OdAPodchaser - https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450 https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450 Sign up for the newsletter now! at; https://www.livingmartialarts.com
I met Master Gordon Fearn many years ago, he'd come down to my area of the country, and we ended up having a short sparring session. He was then a very young man trying to move forward in the competition arena, and I was an older man trying to keep the young pretenders at bay. Immediately when we started sparring, I knew this young man was not a pretender. He was the real deal. He had something about him that was very special. At times like that, you feel happy that you're at the end of your competitive career and don't have to try and deal with another class fighter in your weight division.Master Gordon Fearn has gone on to fulfil his potential and more. I got to talk to him about his Taekwon-Do journey and journey into the CrossFit scene.I hope you enjoy our chat.Here are some links to contact Master Gordon Fearn, 7th Degree Black BeltGreat Britain and England CaptainWorld, European and British Champion. The UK Martial arts scene has a fascinating history and contains some colourful characters. One of those characters who is probably close to the top of that list is Master Alfie Lewis. I was fortunate to see Alfie Lewis at the very top of his martial arts game, and he played that game with passion and determination, which was very clear to see. He also displayed boyhood joy during the whole process. I'm biased, but I consider the days when Alfie Lewis was fighting the glory days of martial arts. I hope you can feel the warmth and respect I have for him. Regardless of what he says, he's a legend, and I love his unique insights. I hope you enjoy the first of hopefully many talks I'd like to have with Master Alfie Lewis. I feel privileged to chat with many skilful martial artists who competed in the past era and some who are still competing in the present era. This week's podcast finds me chatting with Mr Tom Wynne, a slick, excellent competitor that has managed to span several eras and still come out on top.Mr Tom Wynne Is a martial artist who I admired back in the day. I liked his style of fighting because he always made his fighting do the talking. Although our paths never crossed in the competition arena, I admired him as a skilled competitor. He could walk the walk as a technical fighter, but if you wanted to mix it up and get rough and tough, he was happy to oblige. I caught up with Tom to discuss the old days and what made him tick and kick. I've been lucky enough to be in the company of G.M. Wim Bos on a few occasions. One such time was at the inauguration of PUMA martial arts when Major General Choi Hong Hi instructed a 3-day seminar for our group and was assisted by G.M. Wim Bos. It was a time that I will never forget. The excellence of the General and the warmth of G.M. Bos were evident for all to witness.G.M. Wim Bos is a world icon of ITF Taekwon-Do, defined as "a sacred monster".Born in Holland, he began practising martial art as a boy and immediately excelled, winning national and international titles. He soon began his career as a coach and gave life to an unrepeatable nursery of champions. In 1986 he moved to Italy and began collaborating with the FITAE-ITF Federation, of which he has been the National Technical Director continuously since 1987.Also in Italy, he has coached an excellent group of champions who, over the years, have given life to a top-level competitive sector by winning the main European and world titles both in forms and combat competitions.He holds the rank of black belt IX dan, the highest in the Taekwon-Do hierarchy.For many years he was also a manager of the INTERNATIONAL TAEKWON-DO FEDERATION (ITF), where he held numerous technical and administrative positions.Currently, he travels the world giving seminars to teach the secrets of his art.Teaching is undoubtedly one of his main passions, and the experience acquired and the attachment to the art make him a unique Master.I'd be grateful if you could leave a review for the living martial arts podcast; https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450 Sign up for the newsletter now! at; https://www.livingmartialarts.com

I recently caught up with Master Lee Hollingsworth; we hadn't seen each other for a while. As with many of my guests, we have a small shared history, and our TKD journeys have crossed several times over the past 15 years. Master Hollingfswoirth was an awesome competitor; it's good to know that he's now passing on his experience to many others.Master Lee Hollingsworth started Taekwon-Do at the age of 4. A former personal student of Grand Master Trevor Nicholls. He has won multiple world and European medals during his competitive career. He founded HTKD in 2009, opening his first School in Greenford. In 2019 he graded under one of the original Taekwon-Do pioneers, Grandmaster Kong Young Il and achieved his 7th degree Master.For lessons with Master Hollingsworth, please go to; https://www.htkd.co.uk/I'd be grateful if you could leave a review for the living martial arts podcast; https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450 Sign up for the newsletter now! at; https://www.livingmartialarts.com
Master John Archer and I have a mutual love for music and motorbikes, so whenever we talk, it's usually about one of those subjects. However, I got to talk with him about our other mutual shared passion for martial arts. Master John Archer is a 7th-degree black belt, he has been studying Taekwon-Do for over 30 years, starting in 1983.Over this time, he has produced many great champions and instructors and achieved tremendous success.He has travelled worldwide with his art, studying under many Masters and Grandmasters to gain as much knowledge as possible to pass on to his students.Master Archer is the President and a co-founder of Taekwon-Do - UK.He is the senior member of the T-UK technical board.Master Archer's classes can be found at; https://www.stratfordtkd.co.uk/I'd be grateful if you could leave a review for the living martial arts podcast; https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450 Sign up for the newsletter now! at; https://www.livingmartialarts.com

His passion and dedication to Taekwon-Do, Martial Arts and Fitness has grown PROACTION into what it is today, one of the largest and most successful martial arts groups in the UK.Tom works hard to help others succeed in the martial arts industry at his university. If you're passionate about becoming a successful martial arts teacher, check out his university: Mr Nicholson was a prolific competitor on the International Taekwon-Do circuit, attaining 1 x Bronze and 1 x Silver at the European Championships, 2 x Team Bronze at the World Championships and countless International Gold Medals. Retiring from competition at the end of 2015, Mr Nicholson became more involved in the running of Taekwon-Do in England. He was honoured to be elected as ITF England President in January 2017.I love to chat with passionate self-driven people. Tom Nicholson is undoubtedly cut from that cloth.For more info on his class and his university, see the following links: www.martialartslessons.co.uk www.martialartinstructor.universityhttps://www.facebook.com/tomnicholsoncoachingI'd be grateful if you could leave a review for the living martial arts podcast; https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450 Sign up for the newsletter now! at; https://www.livingmartialarts.com

The Dark Master talks with Harry Flexman I had a great chat with Harry Flexman from fightdad.com The thing that came across was his passion for martial arts and his enthusiasm for helping others. Like me, he's a confessed nerd, which meant we got along well. About Harry Flexman He's been a martial arts student for more than 15 years and has been coaching for more than ten years, specialising in the Filipino Martial Arts of Kali, Panantukan and Sikaran. He has earned two second-degree black belts - in https://www.kalisikaran.com/ (Kali Sikaran) and https://www.teamphoenixmartialarts.com/ (Team Phoenix) Kali Blend - and has trained extensively in Muay Thai and Jeet Kune Do (JKD). He has experience (about a year in each) with Olympic Wrestling, Boxing, Shoot Wrestling, and Capoeira. Although Filipino Martial Arts are his favourite, all of these arts have influenced him to some degree as a practitioner and coach. Tim is Kool by name and cool by nature. I caught up with Mr Tim Kool from Holland, who runs his own martial art studio where he teaches Taekwon-Do. Mr Tim Kool talks about how he lives his martial arts passion and the path he has travelled. Tim has been organising and running the very successful Holland Cup tournament For many years. His tournament attracts competitors from far and wide. I guess he will continue to attract more and more to his excellent event as it's very well run and his team are always very welcoming. I've met Tim on many occasions; he's a very warm and friendly person who loves to laugh and smile, and he's pretty good at Taekwon-Do too. I hope you enjoy our chat. Master Chris Snow is well known throughout the UK and further afield too. He regularly organises tournaments under his own LTSI banner and he draws in competitors from all over the UK and from other parts of Europe too. During our chat, Master Chris Snow talks about the challenging childhood that led him to start his martial arts journey and how that journey has developed. His challenges have led him to become the instructor and person that he always wanted and needed. Someone to inspire others and show them that they have a place in this world and that they can make a difference to many others. In this brief chat, Master Snow's passion comes over in such a way that shows he's grateful for the path he's on and that things could have so easily been very different for him. I hope to catch up with Master Snow again but for now, I hope you enjoy our chat.
