Lucy Wolf talks to the Dark Master

Lucy Wolf is someone that I've known for some time. I consider her one of the stronger ladies that I have seen perform in TKD. This podcast will give you a little insight into how she started and flourished in a time when TKD was more male-orientated. Mrs Lucy Wolf was surprised that I contacted her to appear on my podcast, and that shows to me that she's not aware of how others have seen her as not just a role model for females in TKD but a good, strong role model for TKD. As well as continuing her journey in TKD and being a registered osteopathic, Lucy is now a mother of three children. However, she continues to teach and inspire the next generation of TKD students. If the students that she's teaching get a little bit of her inner strength and determination, they'll surely be great students. All about Lucy WolfLucy started training at the age of 7 and had a competitive career spanning over 25 years. She won 3 golds in ITF patterns at 4th & 5th degree - two of these in Korea. She's been on the national team in both ITF, WAKO & WKU kickboxing - winning gold medals in patterns, points sparring, continuous sparring and power breaking. Lucy has also been a multiple world champion. After having three children, she's retired from competing but passionately teaches and coaches her students and members of the wider national team. With coaching, she lives and breathes the experiences with her students. It's truly a life's passion.I hope you enjoy our chat.I'd be grateful if you could leave a review for the Living Martial Arts podcast using the following links: Apple podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/living-martial-arts/id1558703179Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/3MDv2bt1ORsKpD4158cqLA?si=Q9Klv5iQQhOaXiXwhp-OdAPodchaser - https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450Sign up for the newsletter now! at; https://www.livingmartialarts.com

Natalie Jurado is a Magnesium Expert on a mission to spread awareness about this often-overlooked mineral. You see, it wasn't that long ago that she spent most of her days constantly anxious, stressed and overwhelmed. Despite living a healthy lifestyle: eating organic foods, exercising and using healthy products, she was still dealing with health issues. Her doctors kept encouraging her to use prescription meds, but she was concerned about all the side effects. Instead, she started a journey to heal herself naturally. She spent thousands of dollars and years of her life looking for a solution to the crippling anxiety, chronic pain and devastating insomnia that was stopping her from living the life she craved. She started using magnesium daily on her skin, and her life changed! She began feeling calm and centred, had tons of energy, slept restfully through the night and felt years younger. She reclaimed her life and wants others to have the same freedom and vitality she enjoys now. Her mission is to share this miracle mineral with the world so they can be their most vibrant, healthy and energetic selves. Magnesium is responsible for over 300 biochemical reactions in the body, including muscle recovery. Deficiency is strongly correlated with symptoms including anxiety and depression, insomnia, chronic headaches and more. Restoring magnesium levels can be confusing, leaving people overwhelmed and misinformed. I hope to demystify this mineral and help people make better health choices. Growing up in New Jersey, Rick had a unique upbringing, as their father owned pizzerias, where they actively participated in running and working. In later years, Rick transitioned into the security world, working at nightclubs in Philadelphia and New Jersey. During this time, Rick had the opportunity to cross paths with notable figures like Paul Wight II and provided security for legendary individuals such as Mike Tyson and Dennis Rodman. However, life took a challenging turn as Rick found himself entangled in "mob connections," leading him down a troubling path that ultimately resulted in imprisonment alongside his father in the maximum-state security prisons of the Department of Corrections in New Jersey.Upon Rick's release, he exhibited resilience and determination by purchasing and owning MMA facilities while pursuing a career as a professional fighter in the late 1980s. In 2009, Rick relocated to Branson, Missouri, and opened his MMA school. In martial arts, Rick played a significant role in training law enforcement personnel and even became a member of the 1% Biker's Club, showcasing his commitment to the craft. Life dealt Rick further challenges as he faced separation and the heart-wrenching disappearance of his oldest son for two years. Although his son was eventually found, his son's passing under suspicious circumstances cast a shadow of doubt and conspiracy theories. Rick courageously confronted his struggles with alcohol addiction, triumphing over this formidable adversary. Today, Rick has transitioned into his full-time role at his gym, dedicating his energy to training others and serving as an inspiration, leader, and mentor. Danny talks about the reality of being a GB competitor who must keep performing to retain his funding. It's very tough at the top, and Danny outlines precisely how tough it is. Although he no longer does martial arts, he puts that time and passion into pushing weights and becoming a great sparky. We are also joined by some parents of students who have recently taken part in the ID division. He could walk the walk as a technical fighter, but if you wanted to mix it up and get rough and tough, he was happy to oblige. I caught up with Tom to discuss the old days and what made him tick and kick. I've been lucky enough to be in the company of G.M. Wim Bos on a few occasions. One such time was at the inauguration of PUMA martial arts when Major General Choi Hong Hi instructed a 3-day seminar for our group and was assisted by G.M. Wim Bos. It was a time that I will never forget. The excellence of the General and the warmth of G.M. Bos were evident for all to witness.G.M. Wim Bos is a world icon of ITF Taekwon-Do, defined as "a sacred monster".Born in Holland, he began practising martial art as a boy and immediately excelled, winning national and international titles. He soon began his career as a coach and gave life to an unrepeatable nursery of champions. In 1986 he moved to Italy and began collaborating with the FITAE-ITF Federation, of which he has been the National Technical Director continuously since 1987.Also in Italy, he has coached an excellent group of champions who, over the years, have given life to a top-level competitive sector by winning the main European and world titles both in forms and combat competitions. He holds the rank of black belt IX dan, the highest in the Taekwon-Do hierarchy. For many years he was also a manager of the INTERNATIONAL TAEKWON-DO FEDERATION (ITF), where he held numerous technical and administrative positions.Currently, he travels the world giving seminars to teach the secrets of his art.Teaching is undoubtedly one of his main passions, and the experience acquired and the attachment to the art make him a unique Master.I'd be grateful if you could leave a review for the living martial arts podcast; https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/living-martial-arts-1629450 Sign up for the newsletter now! at; https://www.livingmartialarts.com

The Dark Master talks with Harry Flexman I had a great chat with Harry Flexman from fightdad.com The thing that came across was his passion for martial arts and his enthusiasm for helping others.  Like me, he's a confessed nerd, which meant we got along well. About Harry Flexman He's been a martial arts student for more than 15 years and has been coaching for more than ten years, specialising in the Filipino Martial Arts of Kali, Panantukan and Sikaran. He has earned two second-degree black belts - in https://www.kalisikaran.com/ (Kali Sikaran) and https://www.teamphoenixmartialarts.com/ (Team Phoenix) Kali Blend - and has trained extensively in Muay Thai and Jeet Kune Do (JKD). He has experience (about a year in each) with Olympic Wrestling, Boxing, Shoot Wrestling, and Capoeira.  Although Filipino Martial Arts are his favourite, all of these arts have influenced him to some degree as a practitioner and coach. Tony then moved onwards to open schools in the Bath Area which (at the time) was one of the first in the South West to use a blended Arts Teaching Method. This Method was focused more on the adaption of the teaching method towards the individual than the adaption of the individual to the system or style.
