It's a fun show this week as we get in the Halloween spirit with JOCELYN RISH as we look at GRAVE INTENTIONS, then examine the "horror" and biting edge of filmmaking and film festivals with MARSHALL COOK and his rapier-witted comedy FILM FEST, and you'll hear about a new non-fiction book on the way from Jocelyn called BATTLE OF THE BUTTS (Seriously! Kids are gonna love it.). First up today, take a listen to our prerecorded exclusive interview with writer/director and book author JOCELYN RISH talking about the horror anthology GRAVE INTENTIONS as well as her upcoming new book BATTLE OF THE BUTTS. It takes a talented and creative person to put together an anthology like GRAVE INTENTIONS AND research and write a book about animal butts, but Jocelyn does just that. Lighthearted and passionate, both shine through in this candid and fun-filled interview as we go from BUTTS to Madame Josephine who introduces the 5 horror shorts in GRAVE INTENTIONS. A global group of shorts, there is a sentimental standout with GRAVE INTENTIONS as one of the shorts is Robert Forster's final onscreen appearance, something not lost on Jocelyn. Jocelyn works her own magic as she talks about the genesis of each project, research into each, the selection process of films for the anthology, constructing the anthology with a reasoning to the placement of each short in the piece, developing "Madame Josephine" as our guide into GRAVE INTENTIONS, production design of the anthology wraparound, and more. And then writer/director MARSHALL COOK joins us live talking about his film, FILM FEST. You may recall that Marshall was set to join us back in July but due to his shooting schedule on another project, had to reschedule. He's here now and the timing is perfect as FILM FEST is available to all on Amazon Prime, Tubi, and Vudu. A comedic (and more than somewhat truthful) look at a filmmaker and the film festival experience, there is something for everyone here as Marshall incorporates all types of filmmaking and festival experiences within his characters, providing tacit commentary that those of us on the inside know all too well. Laughs start from the getgo as we discuss the whole "filmmaker/film festival" experience and how that spawned this story, casting, the benefit of casting actors with a stand-up comedy and comedic background, location, cinematography and the unfettered clean approach, crafting montages, music, and more. http://eliasentertainmentnetwork.com
Struggling filmmakers travel to an obscure film festival to sell their movie. Hilarity ensues. Writer/director Marshall Cook chats about his brutally honest comedy set within the festival world simply titled Film Fest.

Marshall Cook is the writer and director of the Indie Favorite "FILM FEST". "FILM FEST" premiered at the AUSTIN FILM FESTIVAL and is coming to Amazon and iTunes on March 2nd, 2021. "FILM FEST" is a fun look behind the curtain of what it’s really like for filmmakers and critics alike at the perceived glitzy film fest world. The film features Matt Cook (“Man With A Plan”) and Diona Reasonover (“NCIS”), as well as other familiar faces, including Will Sasso, Ellen Wong, Rachael Leigh Cook, and Laird Macintosh. Follow @thismarshallcook on Instagram and check out the official teaser trailer on Marshall Cook’s YouTube page. When he was 27, he directed, co-wrote, produced, edited and starred in his first feature film, Division III: Football’s Finest. He has directed, written and produced over 50 commercials (for broadcast and digital distribution) with producing partner Tyler A. Hawes, through their production company, Convoy Entertainment. When he’s not working, he loves doing DIY home improvement projects around his home – a fixer upper that he purchased with his wife. Writer, Director, Actor, and Craft Services expert Marshall Cook talks about his new movie Film Fest satirizing the film festival circuit and working with several other unrelated Cooks on the set. Marshall Cook, works along with Rachael Leigh Cook (She's All That, Josie and the Pussy Cats) and Matt Cook (Man With A Plan, That's Not Funny), in the new comedy movie Film Fest, satirizing the film festival scene. Now we definitely make a lot of jokes about Cooks in the Kitchen but surprisingly not a single one is related to each other. Add in Will Sasso, Sara Rue and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter turned podcaster and comedian Brendan Shaub and we've got a recipe for a good time...yes we recognize that bad puns. Cook and I even talk about Sasso and my addiction to 90 Days Fiance and out love of reality television. Film Fest premiered to rave reviews at the Austin Film Festival and is now available on Amazon Prime Video and iTunes. Official Synopsis: After submitting their first film "Unknown Unknowns" to every major film festival with no pick up, Logan (Matt Cook) feels defeated until one day, his producer, Alex (Diona Reasonover) succeeds in getting the film into a festival, the Hollywylde Film Festival. No Sundance by any means, and with no real connections, Hollywylde is their only hope at a distribution deal. Skeptic at best, Montgomery Nash (Will Sasso), festival organizer, uses all his charm to turn their attitudes around. But will it be the push they need? FILM FEST is a fun look behind the curtain of what it's really like for filmmakers and critics alike at the perceived glitzy film fest world. Marshall Cook wrote and directed the film, and even makes an appearance on screen. For more information about Film Fest visit Marshall Cook's official website at www.marshallcook.com. Follow Marshall Cook on social media via Twitter @MarshallCook and Instagram @thismarshallcook. Follow Film Fest on Instagram @filmfestfilm. Well known to nerds across the world, former correspondent for G4's Attack of the Show & NBC's The Voice, the Division III actress who can also be seen regularly on Hulu's Battleground, Alison Haislip lowers her standards and sits in on this episode of Decently Funny. Her extremely good looking co-host and also the writer/director of Division III, Marshall Cook is as witty on the podcast as his abs are rock hard in his film. We discuss Alison's love of acting, gaming, gifting suites and making out at college parties. We also learn what Alison looks for in a guy and how many dates it takes her to get into bed as we play the Decently Funny version of F, Marry, Kill. We ask Marshall about one night stands, Andy Dick and what his love making "go to move" is. We get Alison and Marshall to sing a duet karaoke style and to describe how they masturbate.
