Unfortunately only me and Andy for tonight's show as Aaron attends the funeral of his uncle and Red Sox Nation legend Jerry Remy. Condolences to the Remy/Brum families.

The guys are back! Just in time for your Friday drive, talking all things New York Football Giants. Another week, another loss, and as pressure around Pat Shurmer builds, Adam and Andy take a look back at the division match up with the Philadelphia Eagles and what went wrong. The return of Eli Manning started with a bang and ended with a fizzle. 17-3 at half and just 24 passing yards in the third and fourth quarters. Adam zeroes in on Nate Solder with a fiery passion! Meanwhile Andy takes aim at the coaching staff and a complete lack of adjustments. The guys also think "big picture" as Adam lays out the past two offseason's and drafts questioning- if it is a foregone conclusion that Shurmer will be gone, should Dave go too? All that and so much more, on another episode of the One GIANT Podcast! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/onegiantpodcast/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/onegiantpodcast/support
All praise to the Great One!!! Episode 18 sees us celebrate the epic six-part Jon Pertwee swansong Planet of the Spiders as we 'Om Mane Padme Hum' alongside those burnt-out city types in Deepest Mummerset. Andy and Alex cast their minds back to their first memories of the story in 1991 before fast-forwarding some 28 years (gasp!) to share how they feel about it today. Along the way they muse as to whether the Doctor really did steal the crystal from Metebelis III, whether that chase sequence is too long, and what hobbies the Eight Legs enjoyed at the weekends. In a startling turn of events Alex also likens the Great One to Nessa from Gavin and Stacey and praises Lupton's choice of outfit in Dressed for Success. Meanwhile Andy says 'Bus Stop' so many times that they don't feel like real words anymore. Alex's fiendish quiz has Andy try to guess the correct ages of 10 different companions for which he has to use 'maths and everything.' You will hear all of his brain cogs whirring. You'll also learn what Jackie Lane is cockney rhyming slang for. All this and an excerpt from the first chapter of Terrance Dicks' superb novelisation of 'Spiders'. The fiendish cunning of the man! If poetry is your thing, you may also enjoy the Cailleach's contribution. Alex didn't and spent the time making a sandwich instead. Rude. We love each and every one of you. Honestly we do! Well done. Next time: our 23 November anniversary special! Excite. Excite!

It might be odd to find yourself in competition with a baby, but then again, Andy Rider is an oddity. Dan talks with Andy about old comedy cassette tapes, weird Christian comedians, and lots of other topics as well. Dan shares an old memory about a middle school bully who nevertheless was the only person who would talk to him about Seinfeld. Andy talks about the time he bombed hard at a roller derby. Dan is working on a brand new joke about the time his grandfather allegedly met the Dalai Lama, who “was a nice guy.” Meanwhile Andy is trying to find a good joke about the way that people describe their romantic obsessions. They work on a couple other jokes as well, and discuss whether stand-up comedy specials are starting to rely too much on gimmicks.

Keith just got back from England and talks about an unusual clock he saw there called the Chronophage. Meanwhile Andy just got back from Reno and talks about the GAMA Trade Show. Regarding media, they talk about David Letterman's new show, Justice League, Three Billboards, and various others. We are back again with more food and laughs. This week David takes us to San Antonio, TX where he worked with the lovely Kristen Key at the LOL Comedy Club. David and the Mrs. went and checked out The Smoke Shack where the ribs are smoked with HONEY! Meanwhile Andy had a blast, (and one super weird show), in Port Charlotte, FL at Visani's, The Comedy Zone working with Jim McCue who is apparently a little more famous than he lets on (or really, Andy is just an idiot.) Visani's is a restaurant/dinner theater and has the most amazing food, especially for a comedy club, so Andy gives it nothing but a glowing review. We tell you why you don't order pie at the Waffle House and you can't miss the story of Andy being forced to yell at an Old Lady. (She brought it on herself.) Enjoy!
Andy and David discuss comedy on the road and the great places to eat while performing. This week David visists the great Northwest and talks about Cheese, Doughnuts and a "Mediterranean Joint" he went to in Seattle. As well as Patty's Eggnest Restaurant. David also hits on Jasper's Cafe in Medford, OR for a great burger. Meanwhile Andy went to Williamsburg, VA where he went twice to Shorty's Diner for an amazing breakfast. It is a very funny and tasty episode. www.comicbiga.com @comicbiga www.davidtobeycomedy.com @Tobey1Comedy
Andy awakes at 4.30am enjoying the full joys of tarp tenting! Shirley on the other hand has a ghoul free night at Gourton Bothy before setting out for Ben Alder Cottage. Once she has negotiated walking by the train line she triple checks her location before heading through Rannock Forest, where she spends a few moments chatting with Roy Cocker, Paul Richards, Barry Turton and Catherine Cane. Meanwhile Andy finally gets to the Fiddlers Rest in Drumnadrochit for yet another beer and a chat with Phil Turner in more detail about his recent hiking trip in Finland and just how different walking in that kind of wilderness can be. Shirley on the other hand discovers a more than warm, 'foody welcome' at the newly renovated Bridge of Gaur Guesthouse. Once replenished she heads out for Ben Alder Cottage and another ghost hunt. However while she was there she talks to a couple of other walkers who reflect on the beauty of the place, even with its sinister history. On the way to Dalwhinnie Bunkhouse she calls into Culra Bothy for a brew and spends a few moments enthusing about the beauty of the walk from Ben Alder. At Dalwhinnie once again, we are back to her favourite subject, food!
