The New Orleans Saints lose their second big free agent in offensive tackle Terron Armstead as he agrees to a deal with the Miami Dolphins. Jameis Winston may have some comfort in a potential replacement option, but there are several free agents to also consider for the stopgap approach like Eric Fisher and Nate Solder. Why didn't the Saints match a $15 million per year deal? It might not have come down to the average per year, the Saints could have been being cautious about committing too many years to Armstead considering his recent health concerns and age. If that's the case, would a veteran tackle even make sense? Or will the Saints Stay in-house and invest in the NFL Draft? With Taysom Hill no longer expected to be a part of the quarterback conversation, does that mean he won't be taking some change of pace snaps at signal-caller as well? If so, it could free up a veteran in-house option like James Hurst to step into a starting role on the left side where he only allowed 1 sack in 11 games in 2021. Meanwhile, young guys like Calvin Throckmorton, Ethan Greenidge, and Landon Young can fill in where needed as depth. How to help New Orleans: https://www.nola.com/news/weather/article_d6849dec-aaa9-11ec-956f-3b8bb391c8fd.htmlFind and follow Locked On Saints on your favorite podcast platforms:

Adam and Andy are back talking all things Big Blue! The season is officially underway and with the Denver Broncos looming in week 1, the guys take one last look at what concerns they have heading into the regular season. Will Matt Peart find his form, or are the Giants now hoping Nate Solder finds the fountain of youth? Daniel Jones looked solid in the final preseason game... except for that one mistake in the redzone, a career trend that cannot continue. On the positive side, Andy sees Saquon Barkley as a season stud who should be relied on early and often while Adam highlights that in spite of some health concerns, the Giants are a better team this year and should see a more consistent team on both sides of teh ball week to week. And at long last, record predictions! In spite of it all Adam can't stop his positive vibes, believing the back end of the schedule offers the Giants a chance at a winning streak and run to the playoffs. Andy, not so much. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/onegiantpodcast/message
Adam and Andy are back talking all things New York Football Giants! This was not the dress rehearsal Giants fans hoped for. The guys discuss the surprising start of Nate Solder at right tackle and what that means, if anything, for Matt Pearts future. Andrew Thomas all struggled bringing Adam dangerously close to the edge on Dave Gettleman's roster construction. Daniel Jones gave Giants fans exactly what we wanted: high completion percentage, mobility outside the pocket and down field accuracy on a 23 yard touchdown to Kaden Smith. He also through an interception on the goal line, just to keep us on our toes. Beyond the concerns, BJ Hill did not play in the finale making Andy wonder what that could indicate for the 53 man roster. David Sills and CJ Board have earned their roster spots, but what will become of Pettis and Ross? And could Adam have been right all along that Gary Brightwell can make the opening day roster? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/onegiantpodcast/message

I also defended "The Patriot Way" and had a message for Patriots players and their cryptic messages to the public: Cut the shit. Plus, I opened the show with some strong thoughts on the St. Patrick's Day parade in South Boston. All that and more.

We are back on the podcast with our weekly mailbag show. Thanks to those of you who submitted questions in the comments section and through e-mail. There were too many questions to answer all of them, but I did my best to answer as many as I could. If I did not answer your question this week, feel free to resubmit it next week.Today we look at second tier quarterback options behind Kirk Cousins, whether the Jets should target Nate Solder in free agency, whether arm strength is overrated in evaluating quarterbacks, which Draft prospect has the highest ceiling at the quarterback position, whether there are any players worth trading up to get, the differences between zone blocking and man blocking run plays, my top five football movies, and more.
