Is the point of this episode for Governor Kasich to convince Klepper and comedian Michael Ian Black to listen to Justin Bieber? Ooh baby, you better Belieb it! The thoughtful and hilarious Michael Ian Black comes on to talk about how he learned to expose his vulnerabilities and open up more, why there's so much obsession around political divides and cancel culture, and how Kasich & Klepper teaming up reminds him a lot of his friendship with Meghan McCain. Hello, Succotashians, wherever you may be! Can you believe we are into the last week of October, 2021 at this point? Before I get too far ahead of myself, I'm Marc Hershon, your host for this week's show Epi276, and I have got a humdinger of a show for you, as defined by the quartet of clips I have harvested. Before I reveal the lineup for this episode, did you miss our last episode, number 275, moderated by your every-other-weekly host, Tyson Saner? It was a fun ‘un, for sure, and featured clips from Dragon Talk, Cinemassacre Podcast, and Metaphysical Milkshake with Rainn and Reza. This week's installment has some overt team-ups, with Mike & Tom Eat Snacks and O'Brien & Bolt. Then there's subtler team-ups, as with the two hosts of The Projection Booth, and The Dana Gould Hour, where the host brings in a few pals to riff with him about horror movies. And this being Halloween week, we're sponsored by Henderson's Pants Deathly Hallowear. Protect your delicate treats from the ravages of Halloween miscreants! THE CLIPS Mike And Tom Eat SnacksFirst up is a warm welcome for the return of what was one of my favorite soundcasts back aways: Mike And Tom Eat Snacks. The hosts, Michael Ian Black and Tom Cavanagh hit episode 100 about 4 years ago and went on hiatus. Or hung up their snack shoes. Or who knows what but the important thing is that they are back! Armed with little more than their wits and their PER system – Pick a snack, Eat a snack, Rate a snack – these wisecracking jackanapes surround the most mundane of tasks – eating junk food – with the kind of very funny patter that you can only get with a couple of close friends who also happen to be pretty damn funny. Michael was part of The State, Wet Hot American Summer, and tons of other stuff, and Tom is currently best known for playing the many incarnation of Harrison Welles and the Reverse Flash on the CW's The Flash. Our clip is from their recent noshing on Walker's Shortbread. O'Brien & Bolt: The PodcastsTwo of the funniest guys I know are likely a pair of improv comics you may have never heard of outside the San Francisco Bay Area. Michael O'Brien and Geoff Bolt have forgotten more improv than I'll ever know, and I've been doing it for 35 years. There's a long history of improv groups in San Francisco, including the National Theatre of the Deranged, Spaghetti Jam, Improv Incorporated, Papaya Juice, and more – and these guys have either been in or jammed with all of them. They've started laying down some of their characters through improvised scenes as soundcast episodes in O'Brien & Bolt: The Podcasts, so I wanted to turn you onto them so you could track down their show. The clip we have on deck introduces us to third base coach Stumpy Wilson and some of his “inside baseball” wisdom. The Dana Gould HourWhen is an hour not an hour? When it's The Dana Gould Hour! The latest episode, “House of Halloweenery” runs a good two and a half hours…and I'm not complaining! Host Dana Gould is super-funny, off-kilter, and can get pretty dark. He did, after all, come up with the IFC show Stan Against Evil  and it is a good barometer of Dana's sense of humor. In the latest episode of his soundcast, he starts out talking to Jeff Abraham and Burt Kearns, authors of “The Show Won't Go On!”, stories about performers who literally died on stage. This clip is from the back half of the show when he talks horror movies and more with friend-of-Succotash Matt Weinhold and Ken Daly, who I wish was a friend of the show. The Projection BoothI'm not sure The Projection Booth qualifies as a comedy soundcast per se but hosts Mike White and Rob St. Mary do have some differences of opinion when it comes to reviewing films that can get a little testy and, frankly, a lot funny. This clip is from a recent episode when the guys put the new Dune movie up against the Dune movie directed by David Lynch back in 1984. I was late getting this episode up and out this week, mainly because the power was out in Studio N, my Nerd Nook, because of the storms this past weekend in the Bay Area. So I couldn't harvest clips or get much of anything else done. So we had to dispense with the TweetSack this time around. And there were no calls into the Succotash Soundcast & Runaway Truck Status Hotline. Tyson Saner will be in this feed with your next week for Epi277 of Succotash, the Comedy Soundcast Soundcast, and I'll be back the week after that. In the meantime, have a great Halloween, wear a mask, get vaxxed and, if anyone asks if you've heard anything good lately, won't you please pass the Succotash? — Marc Hershon

Yes, it’s me – Marc Hershon – your host and pre-brush dental rinse for Epi 125 of Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast. This is another edition of Succotash Chats, which means no clips — except for clips related to our interview — and I am VERY excited. Our Special Guest is Michael Ian Black, and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve been angling to try to get Michael — or “Magic”, as Tom Cavanagh, his co-host on the Mike And Tom Eat Snacks podcast, refers to him.  I have to tell you that we don’t have a very long interview with Mr. Black, but I’m happy to be able to bring you what we got. I caught him on his cell phone, on the run doing business in New York, so let’s be thankful I got some kind of time with him in time for this episode.  Recently, I reviewed Michael’s podcast How To Be Amazing, the two-part episode with David Sedaris, for the Huffington Post — so be sure to use the link and check that out. HTBA is just one of the three ongoing podcasts that he is involved with, including TOPICS with Michael Showalter and the aforementioned Mike And Tom Eat Snacks.  Be sure to check out Michael new book! It's called Navel Gazing: True Tales of Bodies, Mostly Mine (but also my mom's, which I know sounds weird), and you can get it just by clicking on the Amazon banner at the top of our http://SuccotashShow.com website and typing in Michael's name. (Then we get a little kickback!)  What Else  In addition to our interview with Michael Ian Black, we’ve got a Burst O’ Durst with political comedian and social commentator Will Durst giving out his predictions for 2016, and a dip into the Tweetsack, our exclusive segment looking at tweets, emails and the like. This episode is brought to you by Henderson’s Pants new Parachute Pants, in a spot written for us by Harry White. Succotash Goes Live-ish! I am really amped up about our upcoming and first recording of a Succotash show in front of an LIVE audience! That’s right. Thanks to friend-of-Succotash Shawn Marek, we're taking over The Comedy Lab at THE Improv in Los Angeles – the main flagship Improv club, the one on Melrose Avenue, right there in West Hollywood! We'll be there on Friday, February 5th, from 6 to 7 PM. And our Special Guests will be Dana Carvey, along with his two sons, Dex and Tom, and also our old friend, Rick Overton! Plus our booth announcer Bill Heywatt will be joining us as well! The Comedy Lab holds 60 seats and this is going to be a first-come, first-serve sort of deal. Tickets are FREE, but you can’t get anything in advance — it’s all at-the-door. You CAN get more information about the show at http://hershco.co/SuccotashLive020516. This should really be something! That's All, Folks! For this epi, anyway. I think this may be the shortest Succotash episode every, other than our halfisodes. We'll be back next time with a chock-full Succotash Clips show. Until then, thanks for passing the Succotash! — Marc Hershon

I'm your host Marc Hershon and this IS Epi 96 of Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast. (If you missed it, there WAS an Epi 95.5 which I did from the road when I headed down to the 3rd Annual Los Angeles Podcast Festival - check out the blog entry just beneath this one!) I was hoping to record this episode as I was sitting in the Squarespace Podcast Lab, surrounded by podcasters interviewing other podcasters. But the time got away from me – it seems there was always someone else to interview or to be interviewed by for THEIR show. I will be featuring my own interviews with other podcasters over the next bunch of shows but not on THIS episode. This episode features my interview with Robert Campos and Donna LoCIcero, the movie makers behind 3 Still Standing, a documentary that looks at the San Francisco comedy scene back to the 1980s through the lives and careers of a trio of local comedians: Will Durst, Johnny Steele, and Larry “Bubbles” Brown. I found one of the interesting things about Robert and Donna is that they’re not from a comedy background but are real, bona fide documentarians who have done hours of material for television. You'll hear about their fascinating background and how they cooked up the idea for the project. This is their first feature-length film and they’re coming at it as fans of comedy. I think you’ll enjoy our chat… …Not to mention a sneak peek of the movie itself! Here's the trailer… 3 Still Standing from beanfieldproductions on Vimeo.  Chillpak "Partycast" I made the drive to Los Angeles from San Francisco in time to catch the Chillpak Hollywood Hour live "partycast" from the Bottle Rock bar in downtown LA. I was a lively time but I haven't had a chance to snip a bit of that show for you yet. But thanks to hosts Dean Haglund and Phil Leirness for putting on the dog. Everyone, including themselves, thought that hosts Michael Ian Black and Tom Cavanaugh, were dead. But they’re not. They’re alive and snacking. And they celebrated their returns with a snack as old as snacks themselves…the humble hard boiled egg. We Have ConcernsI dropped a mention of the podcast We Have Concerns a couple of months ago in the This Week In Comedy Podcasts column on Splitsider.com. But we hadn’t yet played a clip. Jeff Cannata and Anthony Carboni have a lot of fun delving in the wonder and dread hidden inside seemingly innocuous things. F’rinstance, this clip is from their recent episode Algorithm is a Dancer. Dom Irrera LIVE from the Laugh FactoryI can’t believe that comedian Dom Irrera is almost 100 epis into his podcast, Dom Irrera LIVE from the Laugh Factory, and we’ve never featured a clip from his show before. Thanks to Tyson Saner, our Associate Producer, we are now. He does his show, interviewing comedians and talking about Hollywood, right from Hollywood’s Laugh Factory comedy store. Our clip is from a recent episode where Dom is talking to comedian John Heffron. Stick a fork in Epi96 because it’s done! We had clips. We had chat. We had pants. Coming up next episode will be more clips and one or two of the miniviews I had with some of the podcasters at the 3rd Annual LA Podfest. "This is Marc Hershon and you’re listening to Succotash, The Comedy Podcast Podcast." That's generally how I open the show and - yes - I know it’s repetitive. Me, saying the name of the podcast right after listeners hear the show's opening with our announcer, Bill Haywatt, where HE tells you the name of the show. I bring it up because I’ve been listening – this week in particular – to so many podcasts that don’t ever remind you what you’re listening to that it started to seem odd to me. I know this isn’t terrestrial radio and that podcast listeners what they've downloaded or are streaming. But let's face it: People have terrible memories. (I know I do, as an sampling of one…) So some of you comedy podcasters might think about reminding people the name of the show they’re listening to and also who’s doing the talking. Otherwise it’s going to be a whole lot of “Hey, I heard this great podcast the other day. It had this guy who did that thing, you know? It’s called…something. I think it starts with an 'R'…” And that's not going to help you to get and maintain new listeners. People often ask (or I imagine them asking, anyway…) "How can I help your podcast?" I won't belabor the Donate button on our SuccotashShow.com website. But if that's not what you mean by help, you can always go to iTunes via your computer and look up Succotash in the listings, then click on five stars and jot down a short, 2 or 3 sentence, writeup about how you like the show. If you listen via Stitcher, you can click the Thumbs Up button. And, as always, you can simply just tell your friends about us or, as we like to say, pass the Succotash. BOGANWOOD On the back half of this show, we'll be playing episode 2 of Boganwood. We started playing all eight episodes in the first season last week and we'll do one an episode until they're all played. Just prior to this episode's installment of the novel pod mini-series, I speak with Jason "Jabs" McNamara, the Boganwood head cheese (actually,  as producer, director, writer and talent on the project, he's pretty much all the cheese...) via Skype from Canberra, Australia, and he gets into where the idea for the show came from, the characters and the white trash world they inhabit. THE 10 MOST ACTIVE IN THE STITCHER TOP 100 COMEDY PODCAST LIST Here are the show that were movin' and shakin' this past week as the most as The 10 Most Active On The Stitcher Top 100 Comedy Podcasts: 39. SModcast/FeaB -29 And for those of you keeping track, Succotash this week rang in at #5036, which is up about a thousand places since a month ago, so we’re moving up, too! BURST O' DURST Our Ambassador to the Middle , that Raging Moderate himself, Will Durst, gets a little misty-eared as he regards America's latest 4th of July birthday bash. HENDERSON'S PANTS Our chief sponsor, Henderson's Pants, is back with a new line of trousers - the Peer Sucker Pants! Don't miss our commercial for this one. THE CLIPS Vos & Bonnie’s "My Wife Hates Me" Moving up into the Stitcher Top 100 Comedy Podcasts this week at #86, this podcast features a pair of married comedians, Rich Vos and Bonnie McFarlane. They call it the podcast they swore they’d never do and yet…here it is. They talk about themselves, their lives, their child, the comedy business and, no matter what angle they take, they seem to mostly be at odds with each other.  The Paul Mecurio Show We recently featured a snippet of host Paul Mecurio interviewing Jay Leno – great in-depth chat – and now he’s done it again, grabbing a podcast rarity by talking with Sir Paul McCartney! In the clip we got, Paul asks Paul about where The Beatles got the confidence to go from the music that had gotten them to the top and put out something as daring at the time as Sgt. Pepper. After Hours with Mark Pitta The term “comedy podcast” is a pretty big circus tent – it includes comics talking to other comics, comedians talking to themselves, non-comedians talking to comedians, improvisational shows, sketch shows, non-comedians trying to be comedians, and even comedian hosts interviewing non-comedian guests. Marc Maron does it all the time on WTF, we play Paul Mecurio with Paul McCartney in this episode, and now on his podcast called After Hours, friend-of-Succotash Mark Pitta just dropped a fascinating interview with legendary baseball manager Tony LaRussa. The HobcastI just mentioned the wide-ranging category of comedy podcasts and I forgot to mention trolls interviewing sketch comedians. There’s only one I know about and that’s the Hobcast with Hob the Troll aka Stevo Doccerson. The toast of Renaissance Faires across the country, and the star of Hob Sings!, a CD with his legendary music – songs such as “I Hate Goats”, he recently brought his unique speaking voice to the podcast universe. In this clip, he’s chatting with King John, aka Mark Gagliardi from The Thrilling Adventure Hour podcast.    TOPICS We’ve been big fans of Michael Ian Black along with Tom Cavanagh with their Mike And Tom Eat Snacks podcast. But there hasn’t been a fresh epi of MATES since may and now there’s a new podcast with Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter – both of whom were in The State and also Stella. Maybe MATES is delayed? ON hiatus? Gone away? I don’t know. Ostensibly, this new format is a way for two funny guys to address more serious issues but, as you might be able to hear in this clip, their tongues seem to be lodged in their cheeks a bit… See You Next TuesdayI discovered Troy Saple’s See You Next Tuesday podcast just by surfing through iTunes’ New & Noteworthy this past week. But it turns out that this isn’t a NEW podcast, it’s a show that’s been on hiatus for the past 18 months, ever since the host had to do some jail time for a DUI. He’s been out on probation, clean and sober, but with frequent and random drug testing and whole bunch of other restrictions. So he hasn’t been feeling podcastery until recently, when the itch has begun to return. The last time he hit the podwaves was in 2011 and I gather he was interviewing comedians and musicians. Maybe he’ll go there again but, for now, it’s just a man and a microphone. Mike Ward Is Full Of Shit Mike Ward is a Montreal-based comedian and I gather he performs in both English and French – or Quebecois. He’s been named one of the top 25 Comedians of All Time by the Just For Laughs festival. His podcast is called Mike Ward Is Full Of Shit EXCEPT on iTunes and Soundcloud, where he’s had to sanitize it to: Mike Ward Is Full Of Crap. In the clip we have, he’s talking about how he went to LA to find a writer to help with a new show and he happened upon the legendary Paul Mooney. The More You Nerd Here’s another show I discovered in iTunes' New & Noteworthy. (Of course, they’ve had over 80 episodes. I’m beginning to think “New & Noteworthy” is like the term “Overnight Success”.) These guys nerd out all over the place about all kinds of things. This clip is from the episode “Obscure Reference #6: America, Aliens and Ghosts”, and here Myles, Patrick, Mike and Drew duke it out – metaphorically speaking – on which are the best and worst ghosts.  That's the basic rundown for Epi62 of Succotash. There are some bells, whistles, and other assorted goodies in the show this time around, including a revisit with Dana Carvey from WAY back in Epi3, and some classic old radio comedy from a show called The Bickersons. So enjoy and, even if you end up stuffed to the gills with podcast, please remember to pass the Succotash with your friends. — Marc Hershon

For Epi54 of Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast, we wade back into the clips and there are a bunch from shows that we’ve never played before.  Some of those are part of the lineup at RadioFUBAR.com so I decided to do a "mini-featurette" by playing a quartet of FUBAR clips, courtesy of Mr. Producer over there. Sidenote of note: I make it a point on this show to pretty much play the samples from different comedy podcasts without much commentary – unless it’s about how they sound technically and whether I think they should work on that – but the reason is to let YOU hear them and set you off on a voyage of discovery…or not. It’s funny but in 54 episodes of doing this show, I have yet to ever hear from a listener whether you like or dislike a single show that that's been featured.  Of course, some of the shows I clip come from YOUR suggestions, so those would be “Likes”, of course. Other than than, no one’s ever emailed or tweeted or commented on the home site about shows they either liked or didn’t like. Feel free to do so, if you want. (The above is not entirely true, as I do hear from people occasionally that let me know that they got turned onto a specific show they might not have otherwise found.) NEW SUCCOTASH DESIGN Yes, it's true. The graphic artists down in the Succotash Art Department put together a new image this past week and we’ve got it up on our merch in The Succotashery. It’s the two most basic ingredients of succotash: Lima beans + corn + a pot. There are no words so you have to do the math yourself wto figure out that the answer's Succotash. Although on some of the t-shirts and the tote bag we have the classic Succotash logo on the other side. Just click on the Succotashery link on the website to grab yourself some of our hot new look. THE COUNTDOWN Here’s this week’s The 10 Most Active in the Stitcher Top 100 Comedy Podcast List: 37. Walking The Room +3763. By The Way: In Conversation with Jeff Garlin -1964. Dining with Doug and Karen +21165. The Naughty Show -1873. Todd n’ Tyler Radio Empire +30684. The Onion -4386. About Last Night -2788. Mike And Tom Eat Snacks +1989. Alonzo Bodden: Who’s Paying Attention? -1995. The Best Medicine Show +128 LIVE APPEARANCES! Most comedians with podcasts get to use them as a way to plug upcoming shows. Now I get that chance! I'm performing in a new style of live show we're calling Speechless and we have a kind of "beta test" version going up next Friday night at the 9th Street Independent Film Center at 145 9th Srteet (at Minna), Suite 101, in downtown San Francisco. It's a little like a Powerpoint-based version of the Set List Show, except our performers have to deliver a presentation on a random topic which they then have a set of never-seen-before random slides in a PowerPoint deck. The show's at 8 PM, tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Then on Monday, April Fools' Day, I'll be appearing with the April's Fools Show at the 142 Throckmorton Theatre in downtown Mill Valley. The show features the likes of our own Will Durst as well as Johnny Steel, Bob Sarlatte, Michael Bossier, Dick Bright, and a bunch of other funny folks doing spoken word, standup, music and maybe a little improv, too! That show starts at 7:30 PM and should be a lot of fun. BURSTS OF DURST Because this epi is dropping a little late, we have TWO Bursts O' Durst with political comedian Will Durst to play. So I'm playing one near the top of the show and the second in Durst's usual position as the headliner for the show. MUSICAL INTERLUDE At the end of this episode's TweetSack section, I feature Wine & Twitter, a new song from sci-fi/comedy songster John Anealio. He's making this single free to download as well, just by going to http://Jon Anealio.com! CLIPS The Paul Mecurio ShowThis new show by comedian Paul Mecurio is on the SideShow Network and the clip we have, from Epi7, is Part Two of his interview with Lewis Black. It’s a great interview and I did a review of Paul’s show last week for This Week In Comedy Podcasts on Splitsider.com. The RadioFUBAR Mini-Featurette SetI got an email a couple of weeks ago from Frank, AKA “Mr. Producer” at RadioFUBAR.com where they have a lot of podcasts on their roster. So I said send me a few clips and I'll play a sampling from their lineup. Here are the four we're showing on this episode: The Matt Ruefer 4 Hours of Power One Hour PodcastThis show features Matt Ruefer, Pete, Jacob and Mr. Producer as they talk about anything and everything (mostly nerdy.)  They almost always talk about Star Trek, Star Wars or some other nerd stuff. In this clip, the guys talk about the leak of the original star wars cast have been cast for the new version. They play on RadioFUBAR.com Wednesdays at 9pm Central. Chick n’ DickChick n’ Dick we have actually featured on Succotash before. The co-host, John, used to be part of a duo that did a show called the Truth or Truth Podcast. Chick n' Dick is another "stream of conscience" podcast with John and Tara, a husband and wife team, along with their friend Uriah. They are LIVE on RadioFUBAR.com Saturdays at 7pm Central. The N3rdG4sm LulzcastThe N3rdG4sm (pronounced nerdgasm) Lulzcast is four guys (LJ, Joe Keg, Jerry H Christ and Silent Dave) talking about all things nerd: Movies, phones, TV, game consoles and such. It's played on RadioFUBAR.com Thursdays at 7:00pm Central. Uniformed OpinionsUniformed Opinions, while not technically a comedy, is four veterans (Ben, Noam, Frank and Silent Dave) from different services talking about different stuff.  They give their opinions on different things from a veteran's point of view.  The show tends to be funny because they use typical military gallows humor. It plays on RadioFUBAR.com Wednesdays at 7pm Central. So that's the mini-featurette lineup from RadioFUBAR.com - hop on over to theri site and check out all their offerings! Sal & Angelo PodcastSal Calanni and Angelo Lorenzetti are San Francisco comedians and they’ve been interviewing mostly comedian from the area, including those who have done well, moved and then come back to eitehr work, visit or live. Sal recently interviewed Kevin Avery, who has been working as the head writer on W. Kamau Bell’s Comedy Central Show Totally Biased. Into Your Head PodcastInto Your Head is a podcasts is out of Ireland and host Neal (that's all - just Neal) has cranked out 670 episodes. It's amazing that it's taken me this much time to get around to clipping it. Good stuff - his delivery reminds me a bit of an Irish version of comedian Emo Philips. Sweet Feathery JesusBooze, Belasco & Dr. P - the boys at Sweet Feathery Jesus - have come up with a new way to get around the N-word in rap songs…by using another N-word. PodcheeseAnother show I’ve been wanting to get on is Podcheese. One of the co-hosts, Benny Michaels, made it too easy NOT to clip them this episode by sending in a clip featuring what he says is a showcase of he and fellow co-host Josh Bennett's "masterful" improvisational skills. That whole pile of clippage is for you. Please remember as you carry those out into the world, to remember to pass the Succotash!  — Marc Hershon

Here is that last bonus episode.  It’s a mini mencia of the podcast Mike And Tom Eat Snacks.  Fans of the show may remember this was the first podcast we choose to mencia.  Past guest Alan drops in to help us out.  I’m working on the new episode, and it should be done sometime after … Continue reading Bonus Episode 8: Mini Mencia #2-MATES →

It seems there's something new every time I turn around to do a new 'sode of Succotash. Last time it was our inclusion as part of Stitcher Smart Radio's comedy lineup. This time Jesse Fox's Splitsider.com blog This Week In Comedy Podcasts has tapped me to be one of the contributing writers (which include Bradford Evans, Eli Terry, and Joel Mandelkorn.) So look for me to talk up some of the funniest comedy p'casts we have (and will) feature right here on Succotash. I was also just guesting on Radio Rubber Room, a radio show/podcast out of Richmond, Virginia. So thanks to hosts Derrick Vega, Dan Anderson, and Kris Manzelli to inviting to call in for a chat. (You can check that out by clicking the linked name of their show, above...) This episode I was happy to lure our booth announcer Bill Heywatt into the studio to share one of his favorite "adult beverage" recipes in our very first Boozin' With Bill segment. I can't attest to the tastiness of anything Bill might suggest but the formula is posted here if you want to test your mettle...and your taste buds. If our listeners enjoy what Bill's mixing up, you can be sure he'll be back with more libations. Here's a rundown of the podcasts and links that we're featuring on this episode of Succotash: • CB RadioThis straight-ahead interview show is hosted by Cameron Buchholtz, a standup comedian based in Austin, Texas. The clip we have features him chatting with Michael Ian Black, he of The State and Stella sketch troupes, as well as his being a screenwriter and director in his own right. (MIB also co-hosts one of our show's faves: Mike And Tom Eat Snacks...) • Mike And Tom Eat SnacksHearing Michael Ian Black on the previous p'cast gave me the itch to spinout a clip from MATES this episode. As I mention, I never miss an installment of this funny show with him and Tom Cavanagh. If you're one of their listeners who don't like to know in advance what they're snacking on, Spoiler Alert: This show we clipped was all about Dunkin' Donuts' Munchkins. • Burst O' DurstThis episode brings a double dose o' Durst your way. (Will Durst churns out his reports every week so, with our production schedule, we usually have more than we can handle. But not this week!) I actually clipped two Dursts together for the first blast - which is all about how the Republicans can't decide who to rally around. The second BOD is focused on Bank America's decision to heap a $5/month surcharge on ATM users. • Pod AwfulFirst time on Succotash, Pod Awful comes to us from New York City, where its billed as a "comedy talk show". Hosted by Jesse P-S (Initials? Alias? Random letters? I can't tell...), this clip also features comedian Glen Tickle. Jesse sent us this clip as being representative of his show, and it features a heart-warming story of a father using a unique test to determine if his son is gay. • Sweet Feathery JesusBeen dancing around with the hosts of this podcast to try to get a clip lined up and now we have one! The hosts - Belasco, Booze, Dr. P and Hiccup - cover a variety of topics. They comes from a diverse set of backgrounds, which makes for some...spirited discussions. • Bob's BoneyardAt long last we also have a clip from Bob's Boneyard. The guys who run this podcast - Bob Fresh, Manny Torres, and Manny Fresh - have been promising a clip for a while but when I heard one of their shortened offerings (called Bonespurs), the argument about the difference between vampire zombies vesus zombie vampires was too good to pass up. • Hotshot Whiz KidsHere's our second clip from a New York podcast this episode (this one from Buffalo), although hosts Mike Cline and Mark Davila call it "internet talk radio". There was something provocative to me about a conversation that starts with flu victims becoming zombies and ends up (in less than five minutes) talking about chaperoned sex with minors. That's the essence of podcasting in a nutshell... • The Todd Glass ShowIt's fun when I find podcasts being done by people I've known through my long years in the comedy biz. Todd Glass is a classic standup comedian, well-respected in the industry - and it was just a couple of months ago when I sitting in the green room of the 142 Throckmorton Theatre in Mill Valley when he was discussing trying to pull his own podcast together. Well, here it is, part of the Nerdist network! Episodes run two hours and feature Todd, his crew and at least one comedian guest each show, this time with Gary Gulman on board. In addition to our clips and our feature with Bill, this episode features two commercials from our longtime sponsor Henderson's Pants. One of the styles they're pitching, the High-Waisted Hiphuggers, got its genesis from the mind of one of our listeners, comedian Ed Wallick. Thanks, Ed! That's about it. You can listen to us right here on the webstream, download us from iTunes (a review wouldn't hurt!) or give a listen for us on Stitcher Smart Radio! Enjoy this episode and please remember to pass the Succotash! — Marc Hershon
