The College Football Experience (@TCEonSGPN) on the Sports Gambling Podcast Network reacts to the weekend news of Scot Loeffler leaving the sitting head coaching position at Bowling Green for the Philadelphia Eagles staff. Pick Dundee aka (@TheColbyD) breaks down what this loss means for the Bowling Green Falcons and perhaps the timing of the coaching change. What will Bowling Green do to hire their next football coach and how fast will they do it? Will the Bowling Green Falcons hire from within and promote and offensive or defensive coordinator? Can the Bowling Green Falcons get back to the mountain top of the MAC with a good coaching hire here? Should the Bowling Green Falcons consider bringing back Dino Babers as the head coach of the Falcons? Could Eddie George make sense to be the next head coach of the Bowling Green Falcons? Should the Bowling Green Falcons consider Neal Brown or Nick Rolovich? Is there anyway Bowling Green could sell Urban Meyer on coming back to the BG Falcon program? We talk it all and more on this Bowling Green coaching change edition of The College Football Experience. EPISODE 2 With spring practices in our face, it's time to really look closer at how these Mid-American Conference teams have been built up over time, and what these groups might end up looking like once we get to playing games in a few months. Toledo's quarterbacks are very talented, and it's a position group that, when it plays super well, can take this team from barely bowl-eligible to potentially 9 or 10 wins in a single season. Foundationally, Toledo should always be in the conversation for 9 or 10 wins in a season, but hasn't come close to that as of recent. It hasn't always been because of the fault of quarterbacks, but in other instances (2018, 2019) this is a position that probably should've performed better. 2020 could've been a fair year to not see much progression (new coach, pandemic year), but the Rockets actually saw improvement from the two QBs that saw the field most: Eli Peters and Carter Bradley. Both return and there are other talented bench guys that chose not to transfer out but rather stay and compete for Toledo's QB1 job, but will an incoming transfer freshman have something to say about that? Bowling Green has struggled to be halfway decent ever since its three-year run at MAC Championship appearances in the middle of last decade. Now we're in year three of Scot Loeffler as the head coach to help clean up any excessive damage the Mike Jinks hire had to BG football, but news from the transfer portal hasn't helped him at all to this point. This offseason, 7 starters from last year have hit the portal, and only 22 guys still on the current roster are non-freshman eligible. A lot of freshmen will see the field in 2021, but why should we expect any superstars-in-the-making to stick around if we keep seeing the portal work out for all these other Falcons that want to leave? The season opener is here. You know what that means? No more break downs, talking heads, scrimmages, offseason practice reports or projections. It's finally time to sees an actual football game played this weekend and the Family Feud dynamic duo of Keely Eure and Shotgun could not be more excited to take it in from the sidelines of the L.A. Coliseum on Saturday night. But Family Feud Podcast makes a one-episode adoption of fellow USCFootball.com writer Chris Trevino, the podcast's first official guest. Chris drops by to share several of his bold predictions for the season in an exclusive world premier. Since it's been two weeks since the last episode of the Feud, the trio had a lot to catch up on, including the new closed practice policy, injuries, the shakeup to the QB depth chart and, of course, the Fresno State Bulldogs. In the return of the Stock Up/Stock Down segment, Keely, Shotgun and Chris take turns praising the quickly-progressing offense with Shotgun focusing on the offensive synchronicity. They also remain high on some early-enrollee freshmen that have already been able to make a quick impression despite only being on campus for a couple of months. While Shotgun also highlights some players that have made positive gains as they return from injury, Keely admits that the new coaching staff members have been better than she anticipated from Harrell's offense to the fiery ways of running backs coach Mike Jinks and the hands-on approach of defensive backs coach Greg Burns. As they discuss the coaching staff, the USCfootball.com duo note that USC's coaches have been actively attacking some of the issues the Trojans consistently had last season. Of course, Keely once again fails to try to incorporate a Stock Neutral as Shotgun shoot it down with cries of Stock Unchanged. In Heard it on the Sidelines, Keely, Shotgun and Chris drop some tidbits from the last two weeks of August practices. What did redshirt freshman kicker Chase McGrath say about his recovery from an ACL tear? Hear what linebacker coach Johnny Nansen and sophomore Palaie Gaoteote had to say about the MIKE and WILL spots. Then in the special Agree/Disagree segment, Keely and Shotgun react to five of Chris' 10 bold predictions for the season. Those predictions feature freshman defensive end Drake Jackson, sophomore Gaoteote and sophomore wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. We are really excited about all the questions that were submitted and are looking to feature your question on an upcoming episode. A week and a half remains of USC's spring football practices. The Trojans have installed a version of the Air Raid offense and picked up the pace of practice under new offensive coordinator Graham Harrell. So what has been discovered through the first two-thirds of USC's spring camp? And what should be focused on during the final five practices in April? Keely Eure and Shotgun Spratling return with the latest edition of the Family Feud Podcast to discuss where the Trojans stand after 10 spring practices and how far along the offense is under Harrell. The Feudsters return to their in-season format as they survey the good and the bad from the first three weeks of practice. In the return of the Stock Up/Stock Down segment, Keely and Shotgun both give praise to the quickly-progressing offense with Shotgun focusing on the offensive synchronicity. Keely once again fails to try to incorporate a Stock Neutral as Shotgun argues that what she describes is a Stock Unchanged. Stock Down is scattered around the team as Shotgun looks at the ball placement of Jack Sears and what he deems to be a "weird" usage of a stockpile of linebackers. The Trojans' lack of depth is discussed as is the significant drop off from the first team to the second team on the offensive line -- an element that has affected the quarterback play based on which grouping each quarterback is paired with on a given day. In the 'Heard it on the Sidelines' segment, Shotgun looks at how USC's offensive installation plan has been described while Keely notes a couple of defensive players being boisterous for two different reasons. The USCfootball.com duo talk about how much the Trojans are currently being graded on a curve this spring, whether there is really a quarterback competition and discuss a couple of changes that have taken place this spring during the 'Agree/Disagree' portion of the show. The Family Feud Podcast then answers listener-submitted questions about surprise contributors, favoritism, offensive line play and more. Big news of the weekend: Mike Jinks has been fired from Bowling Green. No surprise there, that's a move seemed inevitable, but that wasn't until after Keishawn Watson picked up his own fumble inside the red zone and ran in for a touchdown. Buffalo's in the driver seat, but the Bulls are human. And Miami's got a good defense. Maybe it's time to re-think the optics of the MAC East? Ohio's loss at NIU certainly puts some things into perspective.  Over in the West, NIU's the unsexiest undefeated team in MAC play, but that's where we're at. Also, Toledo slipped on a banana peel and lost to EMU for the first time since 2006.  Send mailbag questions to: macprospectus@gmail.com Tuesday Night Lights is a feature of MAC Prospectus and Free on Saturday.
