In this special edition of Tunnel Vision hosts Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") are back in studio and joined remotely by Trojan second year defensive lineman Elijah Newby who came to USC in the class of 2024 out of Cheshire Academy in Connecticut. Thanks to House of Victory, the 6-foot-6, 232 pound linebacker turned defensive end out of New England had a lengthy interview with our hosts, talking about the recruiting process that brought him 3,000 miles away from home to Southern California, making the switch from linebacker to the defensive line, getting some action last season including the Las Vegas Bowl victory over Texas A&M and his growth at his new position this spring. USC certainly needed some help along the defensive front in an attempt to generate more pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Moving Newby from linebacker to pass rusher was likely the most impactful move the Trojans made this off-season, giving more depth and speed to the defensive front. The interview with Newby was conducted in conjunction with House of Victory, an alumni-backed nonprofit collective dedicated to providing a competitive edge in the NIL space for University of Southern California student-athletes. In the 1970s, Nashville appeared to be a picture of safety, with quiet streets and friendly neighbors. It seemed the kind of place where nothing truly bad was supposed to happen. But within the first few months of 1975, two girls would be found murdered. First twenty-year-old Sally Des Prez, a college Freshman was raped and killed in her own apartment. Then, a nine-year-old Girl Scout, Marcia Trimble, vanished while delivering Girl Scout Cookies. Her tiny body would be found later in a neighbor's shed. Police set their sights on a suspect and wouldn't give up on their pursuit, but it took decades to bring the murderer to justice. Join Cam & Jen as they discuss "Tunnel Vision: The Murders of Sally Des Prez & Marcia Trimble." In this episode of the Estranged Heart Podcast, Kreed delves into the concept of tunnel vision and its impact on estranged relationships, particularly between parents and adult children. Kreed explains how tunnel vision can lead to a narrowed perspective, preventing individuals from seeing the full context of their estrangement. The discussion emphasizes the importance of recognizing this phenomenon to foster healing and understanding. Kreed encourages listeners to explore their emotional responses and consider the broader picture of their relationships, ultimately advocating for a more open-minded approach to communication and reconciliation.TAKEAWAYSStress can narrow our capacity to understand complex situations.Healing requires a willingness to explore beyond certainty. Both parents and adult children can fall into tunnel vision.Curiosity is essential for healing and understanding.www.TheEstrangedHeart.comEmail: hello@TheEstrangedHeart.comWork with Kreed: https://theestrangedheart.com/services(private coaching, mediation, support groups, webinars, etc.)The Heart Collective: https://theestrangedheart.com/membershipFacebook Support Group for Estranged Moms (facilitated by Kreed)https://www.facebook.com/groups/estrangedmotherssupportgroupTo support the podcast and Kreed's work with estranged and reconciled parents and adult children: https://buymeacoffee.com/kreedrevere
Interview by Kris PetersComing together from opposing corners of the planet, Calva Louise are a band who not only benefit from the wisdom of a diverse cultural well to draw from, but also from a musical vision and delivery that far transcends most music in the modern world. To categorise their music would be doing an injustice to the rich sonic palate offered up from the talented trio, but if push came to shove, you would be safe to say theirs is a musical blending of metal, punk and electronics. But the depth of their music goes much deeper than that.Painting an almost cinematic dimension through eclectic and boisterous bodies of sound, Calva Louise have thrown pretty much every rule book out the window, instead following their own path and vision to create a dynamic and powerful sound that is truly something fresh and unique on the shrinking landscape. After two early albums - Rhinoceros and Euphoric - it was the 2023 release of the mixtape Over The Threshold that broke Calva Louise through the barriers and into the ears of a hungry public tired of the same formulaic music. Such was its impact, Over The Threshold reached the ears of Pendulum's Gareth McGrillen, who messaged the band on Instagram, leading to him coming on board to record Calava Louise's new album Edge Of The Abyss, which is due for release on July 11.HEAVY caught up with drummer Ben Parker and bass/vocals Alizon Taho to find out more about the new album and Calva Louise's musical journey."I guess it's a continuous evolution," Parker replied when we asked him to tell us about Edge Of The Abyss musically. "Our sound has been like that from the start, and this is closer to what I think we've always wanted to do. And every release we've done throughout the band's timeline has increasingly got closer to that. It's almost like a bit of a nonstop vision, and it evolves as it goes. Obviously, this album is still very much in the heavy vein - much like the last release, like probably even a little bit more so, I would say."In the full interview, Ben and Alizon explained the DIY production process of the album, where each member recorded their parts remotely, culminating in collaboration with co-producer Mazar in Italy and Gareth McGrillen from Pendulum for additional production. They ran through the interesting concept for the album and how it follows their previous bodies of work.Talk turned to their eclectic sound and the difficulties of blending genres together in the creative process, opening track Tunnel Vision and why it was chosen to introduce Edge Of The Abyss, working with McGrillen and what he brought to the overall sound and feel of the album and more.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

When Bob Chappell vanished from his yacht in Hobart, suspicion quickly turned on his partner, Sue Neill-Fraser, an unassuming woman who soon found herself at the centre of one of Australia’s most controversial murder cases. But behind the headlines lies a deeper story - one of forensic failure, investigative tunnel vision, and a conviction that may never have happened if all the available avenues had been investigated. In this episode, former detective Colin McLaren unpacks the crucial DNA evidence, the overlooked clues on the yacht, and the questions raised by a mysterious yellow Ford. This is a story about how forensics should work, and what happens when it doesn’t. Note: Sue Neill-Fraser was found guilty by a Supreme Court jury; her appeal was dismissed, and a Coroner’s investigation, which reviewed all the available evidence, supported the findings of the criminal proceedings. Tasmania Police stand by the integrity and thoroughness of the investigation, and the efforts of the investigation team, including the forensic experts, and the prosecution of the case by the office of the DPP.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Cultiste e cultisti. Buonasera. Buon ascolto e come sempre… Ci vediamo dall'altra parte!Diventa un supporter di questo podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/dunwich-buyers-club--2814177/support.

On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham, Shotgun Spratling and new intern Riley Sager are back in studio to discuss everything happening in the world of USC football, from recruiting to what all 12 assistant football coaches had to say this week at the media brunch. Our team starts off talking about the nearly unbelievable turnaround for USC football recruiting, both from the high school ranks and the NCAA Transfer Portal. Over the past five days the Trojans have picked up as many commits, four from high school and one from the portal. Things got started on Wednesday with three-star receiver Roderick Tezeno, Thursday USC added five-star offensive tackle Keenyi Pepe, Friday was four-star corner Elbert Hill, Saturday three-star receiver Luc Weaver before UCF transfer cornerback Chasen Johnson picked USC on Sunday. Lincoln Riley and his crew have the No. 1 ranked recruiting class for 2026 and it isn't close, with 27 commitments and nearly 295 points (Notre Dame is second with 14 commits and 236 points). The efforts to focus on high school recruiting by new general manager Chad Bowden is paying off and the Trojans are not slowing down on the recruiting trail. On the team side, we were able to meet with 12 assistants on Wednesday at USC's media brunch, two hours of interviews that we filmed and uploaded to our YouTube page. We were able to gain a lot of insight into what the plan is for the off-season to turn things around on the field in 2025. Shotgun also spent the morning at the Under Armour Next Camp in Mission Viejo and shares his thoughts on how the Trojan commitments and targets performed, including defensive line MVP Simote Katoanga out of Santa Margarita (Calif.) and offensive line MVP Chase Deniz out of San Diego (Calif.) Cathedral Catholic. They will also talk about Riley's decision to let Director of Football Sports Performance Bennie Wylie go and head in a different direction for future of USC football strength and conditioning. Dukes and Bell get into a conversation on the Falcons drafting James Pearce Jr. in which Mike believes the team had tunnel vision on the edge rusher which led them to trading back into the first round to draft him and had Jalon Walker not been available at 15, the Falcons would have likely taken Pearce Jr. at that spot.
On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham, Chris Trevino and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") are back in studio to recap all of the news and notes from the Trojans 15 spring football practices, including Saturday's rainy "Trojan Olympics" finale in the Coliseum. There was no traditional spring game this year, but the guys give their thoughts on what they saw and heard throughout spring football from key position battles to returning veterans making an impact to new faces making an impression. The guys will also talk about the different feel of spring practice this year, with increased buzz thanks to the new personnel staff inviting tons of top prospects from Southern California and all over the country. We haven't seen this many recruits consistently coming to practice in years, and it reflects the success USC recruiting has seen over the past couple of months building the No. 1 ranked recruiting class for 2026. Our guests today are Chicago-based indie favourites Beach Bunny. Originally launched as a solo project by front-woman Lili Trifilio, the band has grown into a powerhouse of guitar-driven power pop—earning multi-platinum singles, critical acclaim, and viral success with tracks like “Cloud 9.” This week, they return with their third album Tunnel Vision, a bold collection that sees them reconnect with their guitar roots after experimenting with synths on their previous release. In today's episode, we chat with Lili about taking time to creatively reset, returning to a guitar-forward sound, working with producer Sean O'Keefe, and the emotional depth of standout track “Violence.”Beach Bunny: Instagram / Spotify Purchase Tunnel Vision and find Beach Bunny tour dates hereVisit our official website here and follow us across our socials.
“Scribbling into oblivion” is how Lili Trifilio of Beach Bunny describes her editing process. (It's also an amazing song title.) She used this phrase in response to a question I like to ask songwriters: when you're editing something you don't like, do you cross it out with a single line or scratch it out? Trifilio wants that word or phrase to disappear forever. Beach Bunny's latest album is Tunnel Vision.

Drawing from his experience as a Navy SEAL, business leader, and instructor at Echelon Front, JP breaks down why most leaders struggle under pressure and how detachment is the key to overcoming stress, ego, and tunnel vision. He shares real-life stories from the battlefield, business, and training that highlight the importance of staying calm, controlling emotions, and seeing the full picture before making decisions. If you've ever found yourself reacting emotionally, making rash decisions, or feeling overwhelmed by leadership responsibilities, this episode is a wake-up call. JP lays out a step-by-step framework for mastering detachment and explains why leaders who fail to detach will always fall short.

On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") are back in studio to recap USC's 35-31 win over Texas A&M in the Las Vegas Bowl, giving the Trojans a 7-6 record that included a 4-5 Big Ten record and two wins over SEC opponents. Training 24-7 late in the third quarter, quarterback Jayden Maiava and the Trojans scored touchdowns on 4 of their next 5 drives, taking the lead with just 8 seconds left in the game to secure the victory. Ryan and Connor give their thoughts on what they saw in Las Vegas, including the roller coaster performance by Maiava, the emergence of freshman running back Bryan Jackson behind a young offensive line and the Trojan defense stepping up with some great second half adjustments. The guys also talk about how this game mirrored USC's opener in Las Vegas, a come from behind win over LSU where USC also scored the game winning touchdown with just 8 clicks left on the clock. The phrase out with the old and in with the new generally has a positive connotation. It certainly implies that "the new" is better than whatever "the old" may have been.. However, if the change is an unexpected and dramatic one, "the new" can bring a lot of unwanted circumstances to the table. For some clarity in regard to what Im rambling about... inquire within. On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Jack Smith, Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") are back for the final recap show of USC football's regular season, a 49-35 defeat at the hands of No. 5 Notre Dame. After playing an even first half, the Fighting Irish looked to be in control late in the game before the Trojans, down 7, had a first and 10 at the ND 21 with under 4 minutes on the clock with a chance to tie the game. Then Cornerback Christian Gray squashed the Trojans comeback dreams, snatching Jayden Maiava's pass out of the air before returning it 99-yards the other way. The guys talk about how this game was a microcosm of the Trojans entire season, with chances at success that ultimately ended in failure. USC played well enough to win in all three phases of the game, but couldn't bring it all together and make the plays to finish the game, a common theme throughout the season. In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") are back in studio for a holiday week edition of the Peristyle Podcast that will also serve as our game preview Tunnel Vision show this week. USC is coming off its 19-13 win over UCLA in the Rose Bowl where the team had the flu. The victory was important for a number of reasons, the rivalry with the Bruins, getting back the Victory Bell and of course becoming bowl eligible. But the level of play wasn't great, with both teams looking like they were ready to give the game to the other side at any moment. The Trojans will need to play a much better brand of football this weekend to have a chance to take down the Fighting Irish in the Coliseum. Notre Dame has won 9 games in a row and are blowing teams out with regularity. The guys talk about this important matchup and what USC would need to do to get the upset win and knock the Irish out of the College Football Playoffs picture. On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Jack Smith and Ryan Abraham are back from a late night in the Rose Bowl where they witnessed USC's first ever Big Ten road victory, taking down crosstown rival UCLA 19-13. It wasn't the prettiest game in recent memory, but head coach Lincoln Riley and the team will take the conference win regardless. The Trojans are now 6-5 and bowl eligible with an opportunity to knock Notre Dame out of a playoff berth next week in the Coliseum. This was a far from perfect performance by the Trojans, only scoring one touchdown while struggling in the red zone and allowing over 100 yards rushing to a UCLA squad that struggled to run the football this season. But USC did shutout the Bruins in the 4th quarter and closed out the game on a high note, outscoring UCLA 10-0 in that final period. New quarterback Jayden Maiava didn't turn the ball over and give the Bruins easy scores like he did last week against Nebraska, despite having a flu outbreak on team throughout the week leading up to the game. The guys talk about some of the issues they had with this game including some of the play calling, specifically in the red zone where USC kept throwing low percentage fade routes from inside the 5-yard line instead of just handing the ball off to the offensive MVP Woody Marks (Of the 9 plays the Trojans ran inside the UCLA 5-yard line, Marks only got one touch). Despite having no turnovers and amazing starting field position of USC's own 42 yard line, the Trojans could only put up 19 points, easily the worst offensive performance of the season. Luckily the other side of the ball may have played its best game, picking up three sacks on Ethan Garbers and only allowing 13 points while ending the game forcing two straight four-and-outs. On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Jack Smith and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") take a deep look at this rivalry game between USC and UCLA, two programs that reside in the same city and square off each season for the right to hold the Victory Bell for the next year. The Trojans preparation for this game has been impacted by a bout of the flu, something Lincoln Riley, who was sick himself, addressed this week. The guys dive into the matchups between these two programs including former Bruins D'Anton Lynn, Kyle Ford, Kamari Ramsey and John Humphrey now playing and coaching on the other side of this rivalry and how their presence could have an impact on the game. On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham and Jack Smith are in studio recapping how the Trojans got an important 28-20 victory over Nebraska and the positive first start for UNLV transfer quarterback Jayden Maiava. After losing four of the last five games, the Trojans were able to get back on the right track and finished the game strong against the Cornhuskers. Now USC just needs one win over rival UCLA or Notre Dame to become bowl eligible and get an extra couple of weeks of practice to help prepare this team for next season. On the defensive side of the ball the Trojans really played well, allowing only 13 points to the Nebraska offense and only 10 points that were not the direct result of USC turnovers. Before the guys give their thoughts on the game, they welcome in the USC left tackle Elijah Paige who played one of his best games against Nebraska, helping Woody Marks run for 146 yards and allow Maiava to complete over 71% of his passes. The interview with Paige was conducted in conjunction with House of Victory, an alumni-backed nonprofit collective dedicated to providing a competitive edge in the NIL space for University of Southern California student-athletes. If you want to help out USC's NIL efforts, you can donate to House of Victory here. CLICK HERE for 30% OFF an annual VIP membership to USCFootball.com! On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham, Jack Smith and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") were hoping for a chill show following the bye week but nothing is ever chill when you cover the Trojans. The guys will try and focus on previewing this extremely important matchup with Nebraska, with both teams fighting desperately for the privilege of playing in a bowl game. The Huskers are riding a 3-game losing streak, the second-straight Big Ten opponent to have entered the Coliseum after losing three-straight, while the Trojans have dropped four of their last five games. They will also discuss the major offensive changes both programs made during the bye week, with USC benching Miller Moss in favor of Jayden Maiava at quarterback and Nebraska promoting newly hired offensive analyst Dana Holgorsen to offensive coordinator, calling plays for freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola. The early signing period is quickly approaching and the Trojans top-10 recruiting class for 2025 is already taking hits, most notably the de-commit of four-star edge rusher Hayden Lowe. The guys weigh in on this recruiting failure and where USC can go from here to help bolster the defensive line through high school recruiting. USC is also dealing with a minor distraction after being issued a 1-year probation and $50,000 fine from the NCAA for allowing analysts to coach players during 2022 and 2023.
