What happens when you mix the traditional storytelling of classic country with the raw, uncompromising distortion of 90s alternative rock? You get the spellbinding sound of Melbourne singer-songwriter Katie Bates. Fresh off the release of her brilliant new single "Tunnel Vision," Katie joins Jamie on the show for an intimate, deep-dive exploration of her musical DNA, the fierce grit of the Australian music scene, and what it truly means to defend your artistic identity in a fast-moving digital age. In this episode, we go far beyond the standard press junket to break down the mechanics of Katie's unique sonic friction. Raised on a steady diet of family vinyl, Katie opens up about how a childhood obsession with The Wizard of Oz unexpectedly handed her a guitar at just six years old, setting her on a path to cut her teeth in local Melbourne bars and live music clubs long before most kids her age had even finished school. Jamie and Katie dive headfirst into the fascinating philosophy behind her records, discussing why she intentionally pairs clear, soaring country vocals with the snarling, heavy production elements of grunge titans like Nirvana and PJ Harvey. They tackle the psychology of dynamic contrasts in songwriting, the unique perspective gained from stepping out of the spotlight to work as a live sidewoman for other prominent acts, and her unfiltered thoughts on the frustration of navigating today's single-driven streaming ecosystem when your heart belongs to the timeless architecture of a full-length album. Turn it up, lean in, and join us for a masterclass in independent artistry.

What if the reason your clients (or you) aren't improving isn't a lack of effort—but a too-narrow approach to healing? You might be doing everything "right"—seeing the best specialists, targeting specific symptoms, following structured plans—yet still hitting a frustrating plateau. Here's the uncomfortable truth: when care stays siloed, progress stalls. Focusing on one system at a time can help… but without integrating how the brain and body work together, you're just building partial solutions. The real breakthrough happens when you zoom out, connect the dots, and treat the full system as an orchestra—not isolated instruments. BY THE TIME YOU FINISH LISTENING, YOU'LL DISCOVER: - Why hyper-specialized, "niche-only" treatment often leads to plateaus in concussion recovery - The real reason multiple great providers still might not get you lasting results - How integrating systems (not just treating them) unlocks faster, deeper progress - What actually created dramatic change in just one intensive week—without traditional exercises If you've been stuck, the missing piece may not be what you're doing—but how everything is being put together. On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham Shotgun Spratling and intern Makena Arteaga are back in studio talking about the Trojans finishing up spring practice week three and the wave of commitments from some of the top high school football players in Southern California, including a recent Oregon flip for an elite offensive tackle. USC finished up spring practice No. 11 on Saturday in the Coliseum, completing the third of four weeks of spring football workouts. The crew gives their thoughts on what they have seen and heard out on Howard Jones Field with head coach Lincoln Riley and new defensive coordinator Gary Patterson getting the troops ready for the highly anticipated 2026 football season. Practices were more concentrated this spring, running for five weeks instead of six (with one week off for spring break), and four workouts per week instead of three. March is a critical month for the future of Trojan football with Patterson's new defensive scheme being implemented and 31 true freshmen getting in the mix. On the recruiting front general manager Chad Bowden and the squad are catching fire, trying to follow up on the No. 1 ranked high school class for 2026 with another impressive haul in 2027. Since spring football started dozens of prospects have continually visited campus to check out practice and so far three new commitments have been announced. It started with San Diego Cathedral Catholic four-star athlete Honor Fa'alave-Johnson followed by Mater Dei four-star defensive back Danny Lang and Saturday's big flip from the Ducks in Servite four-star offensive tackle Drew Fielder. On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") are back in studio recapping USC's 29-10 victory over UCLA, capping a 9-3 season for the Men of Troy and a likely trip to San Antonio for the Alamo Bowl and an opportunity to win 10 games. With star wide receivers Makai Lemon and Ja'Kobi Lane suspended for the first quarter for violating team rules, the offense struggled in the first half and only managed to put one touchdown on the board. Things picked up in the second half for USC, with the offense putting up points and the defense pitching another shutout, dashing UCLA's hopes of an upset bid in the Battle for Los Angeles. The guys breaks down the game, talking about how missing the top-2 receivers set the offense back in the first half and some of the defensive struggles that led to the Bruins taking the lead in a game for the first time in 40 days. After halftime quarterback Jayden Maiava settled in and found his two stars, Lemon for a 32-yard touchdown and Lane on a couple of crucial drive-extending catches. King Miller also ran well, finishing with 124 yards rushing, 42 receiving and two total touchdowns, earning him USC's player of the game. Finishing the regular season 9-3 is better than most expected, but in some ways it still feels like a disappointment with the opportunity to make the College Football Playoffs just a missed field goal at Illinois away. The guys take a look at the season as a whole and discuss why Lincoln Riley said this campaign was an important springboard towards the future success of this Trojan football team. Is violence caused by “bad people,” too many guns, or something deeper? In this episode, University of Chicago researcher Jens Ludwig reveals why most violent acts stem not from evil intent but from ordinary people in unforgiving situations. We explore how behavior, context, metacognition, and split-second decision-making shape violent outcomes — and why small, scalable interventions like pocket parks, foot traffic, and reflective thinking can dramatically reduce harm. On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") and intern Riley Sager are back in studio recapping USC's 42-27 loss to Oregon, knocking the Trojans out of the College Football Playoff picture. Facing the No. 7 ranked Ducks, the No. 15 Trojans needed to play a clean game in Autzen Stadium and unfortunately it was anything but from Lincoln Riley and company. Major special teams blunders, including a leaping penalty on a punt and punt return for a touchdown, put points directly on the board for Oregon and that was simply too much for the Trojans to overcome. The crew breaks down the game, discussing what went right for the Men of Troy and what went wrong, and how the Ducks provided a real opportunity for an upset with some sloppy play of their own. Offensively USC put up 100 more passing yards than any of Oregon's opponents this season, but Jayden Maiava did have two costly interceptions and the run game was essentially non existent. Defensively USC played better in the second half but just couldn't get enough stops to slow down the Ducks potent offense. Special teams was an absolute disaster, starting with a kickoff out of bounds, a kick catch interference call, leaping that took away a USC stop and led to a Ducks touchdown, giving up a punt return for a touchdown and then a missed short field goal. At a minimum that cost USC 17 points in a game it lost by 15. Despite the loss, the potential for 10 wins is still a major improvement over last season, but being unable to pull off a win in any of the three toughest road games is a tough pill to swallow for the Trojans. On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham, Chris Trevino and intern Riley Sager are back in studio recapping what was another impressive performance in the Coliseum, a 38-17 victory over Northwestern on Friday night. The Trojans and Wildcats were close in the first half, but an amazing defensive play by Jayden Maiava gave USC new life and sparked a 14-point swing. In the second half the Trojan defense took over, allowing only a lone field goal after the break. The crew gives their thoughts on the Trojan offense getting things rolling again, with Jayden Maiava back to his old form, King Miller rushing for over 100-yards in his first Coliseum start and Makai Lemon and Ja'Kobi Lane both bringing their 'A' games. On the defensive side, it was a rough start after Northwestern scored touchdowns on its first two drives, but after that the USC defense was able to tighten up and keep the Wildcats out of the end zone, only allowing 3 points the rest of the way. They also discuss where the 7-2 (5-1) Trojans are in the Big Ten standings, with a legitimate shot at the College Football Playoffs if they can win out. The road gets tougher over the next couple of weeks, with a tough Iowa squad coming to the Coliseum followed by a difficult road trip to Eugene to take on the No. 9 Oregon Ducks. The Trojans are coming off a late night win in Lincoln and have a short week to prepare for Northwestern, a program travelling a couple thousand miles to Los Angeles but is also fully rested after a bye week. It was not the cleanest game for Lincoln Riley and the Trojans, but it was an important result that was desperately needed. Now at 6-2 and 4-1 in Big Ten play, No. 20 USC's hopes of reaching the College Football Playoffs are still alive with three home games and one road trip to Eugene left on the schedule. The crew gives their thoughts on some of the key storylines from the game, including an amazing performance by walk-on running back King Miller. Making just his second start, Miller ran for 129 yards and a touchdown on 18 attempts and was the main weapon for the Trojans offense with Jayden Maiava having an off night. The defense stepped up and made plays after Nebraska's opening drive touchdown, forcing a sack/fumble that knocked Dylan Raiola out of the game and coming up big in the second half, only allowing a single field goal to the Huskers. Kicker Ryon Sayeri was also one of the stars of the evening, hitting both of his field goals including one that was just shy of 50 yards. The steady redshirt freshman from Chaminade High School has converted on 14 of his 15 field goal attempts and has been an absolute weapon for USC this season That was the Trojans second Big Ten plane ride road trip victory of the season and Riley and company have a quick turnaround, facing the 5-3 (3-2 B1G) Northwestern Wildcats Friday night in the Coliseum coming off of their bye week. On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") intern Riley Sager are back in studio recapping the latest disappointing road game effort for the Trojans, getting pushed around on the line of scrimmage by the Fighting Irish in a 34-24 loss. Notre Dame ran for a ridiculous 306 including a record-setting 228 yards by ND tailback Jeremiyah Love, the most by a Fighting Irish player in the history of this series and the most ever by an ND player in Notre Dame Stadium. USC simply couldn't run the ball, gaining just 68 yards on the ground at a 2.3 yards per carry clip, and turned the ball over three times in the second half, dooming any chances of a comeback against the rival Irish. The crew gives their thoughts on some of the key storylines from the game, including the Notre Dame game plan to play a tight, physical contest all over the field and endure any pass interference calls that came along with it. The Trojans also failed to capitalize following any of the huge plays they generated, allowing the Irish to steal the momentum back almost immediately after the impressive opening touchdown drive, the Makai Lemon 42-yard reception and the Ja'Kobi Lane go ahead touchdown and two point conversion. Following the loss, USC once again fell out of the AP top-25 and once again will go into a bye week looking for answers to why the team played so poorly away from the friendly confines of the Coliseum. On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") intern India Otto are back in studio previewing a game that has been circled on USC's schedule, a road trip to rival Notre Dame. The No. 20 Trojans come in at 5-1 fresh off a 31-13 win over Michigan while the No. 13 Irish have won four-straight after starting 0-2 and are playing suffocating defense as of late. Both programs are looking for a huge win that would propel them into the College Football Playoff discussion as well as retain or take back the Jeweled Shillelagh (maybe forever?). The crew gives their thoughts on some of the key matchups in this game, with an elite USC offense taking on a stingy ND defense and run-focused Irish offense taking on a Trojan defense that bounced back against the run-focused Wolverines last week. They also discuss some of the key injuries for the game, with USC's top two running backs out and Notre Dame's starting center and defensive tackle out. On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") and Chris Trevino are back in studio taking about how this USC football team finally put a complete 60 minute effort together, taking down the No. 15 Wolverines 31-13 Saturday night in the Coliseum. It was an extremely important game for head coach Lincoln Riley, and following that disappointing loss to Illinois he used the bye week to get his Trojans ready for what was going to be a toughest test against Big Ten powerhouse Wolverines. The Men of Troy defensively passed that test with flying colors, holding Michigan to just 109 rushing yards and 316 total yards. The offense was exceptional as well, putting up 489 yards with walk-on tailback King Miller rushing for 158 yards (8.8 per carry) and a touchdown. The crew talks about how clean of a game USC played, even with a pair of offensive turnovers. The Trojans only had three penalties on the night, none on the defense, and allowed Michigan to convert just 2 of 9 on third down. On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") and intern India Otto are back in studio taking a detailed look at USC's next opponent, the Michigan Wolverines. After Michigan's early season road loss at Oklahoma, the Wolverines have been playing better football and bringing along five-star freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood. USC had a great 4-0 start to the season before getting derailed at Illinois two weeks ago. Both teams have aspirations of making the college football playoff, but a loss on Saturday likely would derail those dreams. For the Trojans, this is easily one of the most important games in Lincoln Riley's tenure. With a bye week to get healthy and work on some of the Trojans defensive issues, it is imperative that Riley's squad comes out and plays good, clean football against one of the biggest brands in the Big Ten. USC has yet to have a signature win in its new conference and could get one if the Trojans can take care of business Saturday in the Coliseum. The crew talks about what USC was able to do during the bye week to get healthy while getting ready for Michigan, what some of the major matchups are against the Wolverines and finish the show with their score predictions for the game.
